Chapter: 1 Awakening
"what do you mean there's no such thing as chocolate rain?"

Changelings, before when I was put in my Pod, I was told that something big was going to happen. I wasn't that smart to piece things together as The Great War started and ended all life except those lucky enough to be granted access to Stable Tech's Stables. To preserve life and make sure that they had a better future underground, away from all of the radiation and the horrors of the wasteland. I know that's a load of horseapples now

My Queen is dead, the Princesses are dead... The once magical land of Equestria now dammed and plagued by radiation and monsters. I was subjected to face them all on my own, without any friends or companions to help aid me... Or so I thought.

I laid there in the strange green pod surrounded by a gooey substance which felt welcoming in the background of my thoughts I could hear a faint majestic voice was calling out to me in my dreamless slumber.

Wake up. Waaaake up, WAKE THE HELL UP

With that, my eyes forced themselves open to stare at a disgustingly malformed changeling staring right back at me. Dripping from its mouth was a green acidic like liquid which fell on the pods exterior. The body of the Changeling was bulkier than any changeling I can remember from the past it also seems to radiate this hatred towards me. Or was it hunger? I didn't know and I didn't want to find out

'W-what the hell are you!!??" I barely managed to spurt out though in reality it was just a slur of words all jumbled together. Once I had said those words the Changeling let out a bloodcurdling scream and what soon followed was several more. My body tensed up once that changeling- no that monster let out that horrendous scream. it took me later to figure out what had happened but I was able to put the pieces together

The bulky changeling that will now be referred to as a Brute stopped, turned around, and walked away mindlessly as the air was filled with a soft buzzing noise, I glanced around finally taking notice of my own surroundings. The surroundings were all bland and destroyed from years of decay as long with the propaganda posters all posted around the hive walls that referred The Zebras as: "Spies, Voodoo priests" and all sorts of evil

You need to escape, This place is no longer what it is used to be

Not gonna lie though at this point I was thoroughly shitting bricks at this moment from the presence of the strange majestic voice that echoed throughout my thoughts and brain. Speaking in my head felt weird, but everything felt weird when you've spent the last 200 and something years in a preservation pod.

"Hello? Who are you and why are you in my head??"

I felt a strange rumbling as the pod slowly opened and let me exit. I was certainly glad that wasn't gonna have to bust through the pod since I felt that it might cause quite some noise if I was to break out. Slowly putting one hoof out felt the strange rough sensation of the ground. Slowly stepping out I finally got a good look at myself in the mirror that was rusted but still seeable. There standing was a soft whitish blue changeling mare with thestral properties like the slits of the Luna"s royal guards eyes. The mare in the mirror's eyes housed a green flame of hatred towards the war that caused her home to be destroyed. Looking away from the mirror I realized that this place oddly looked more like a hospital room than a changelings hive.

Being as silent I can be while still trying to get used to walking again was difficult, to say the least. First thing on the to-do list is to get the hell out of here and have a serious discussion with this voice in my head. Wow, I must say that I sound crazy already. I took notice of one thing that was blatantly obvious, is that the hallway is filled with darkness. "Oh my it's rather dark here. Let me see if I can still remember-" taking on a constipated look as my horn lit up a sickly green light that soon enveloped the room.

Death was everywhere dozens of skeletons of ponies from centuries ago and recent littered the hallways. As soon as I knew it my body was trying to empty all the contents it didn't contain, another thing to do is acquire food or anything that can sustain me.

Trotting silently was still a big task, especially while trying to regain control over my limbs so I was most likely better at crawling than trotting around all recklessly. Laying my body on the ground my hoof hit some metal object as it skittered away from the impact of my hoof, "what could that have been." I murmured to myself as I crawled over toward the object I knocked away with my hoof. The atmosphere was thick and the air was filled with silence beside the sound of my body dragging along the floor ever so silently compared to trotting around. the green magic enveloped the object " a.. bullet? wait, no." The tip of the bullet slid off a bit and she soon activated the mechanism and with that, a small but bright flame illuminated the room ever so softly. " oh joyous me! I can conserve my magic supply like this must I say the Queen is with me in these dark times.." with that said something fell right on my back and soon everything felt lighter as I hit the ground with a thud.

I stood in front of an audience of hundreds of ponies all seemingly still alive. my mouth opened to hush the crowd of talking ponies who were panicking and shouting questions at myself. " Quiet down! for I have news to share with you all. ever since our beloved Queen Chrysalis asked for peace and joined Equestria to help aid in the war. We've sent out dozens of changelings spies and to take the roles of Zebras that are close to the higher ups. I assure you that we have everything on lockdown. For the news, we have been informed that the Zebras are-" before I could say anything a gunshot rang out and the ponies screamed and scattered running around in a panicked frenzy before I was lifted off the ground and taken away somewhere safe.

The memory soon faded as my eyes adjusted to the light of the campfire that was some hooves in front of me. looking a little more up my eyes focused and looked at the black rotting coat of a zombie pony "Hey there smooth chitin"
