It has been many months since the world was harrowed by a phantom menace. While Equestria’s guardians remain vigilant, its good ponies have settled back into their peaceful lives, ignorant of just how close they had come to Armageddon. Just beneath their hooves, in the sepulchral Sunless Lands of the Dead, the fate of their world had been decided by a darker power.

The Silent King, once a mere myth, now sits on his Immortal Throne. With the dire threat from the Infernal Pits extinguished, he now plots to restore his gloomy realm to its former glory. To that end, he has set his baleful sights on the Equestrian capital of Canterlot. There, amongst the unknowing ponies and nobles, he seeks to uncover what the ancient equines wanted to remain buried.

However, a far graver threat looms over the world like a bad moon. A sinister plot over a thousand years in the making is about to come to fruition. Its malevolent masterminds need only to wait until the time is right to strike. Should they succeed, then the world will be dragged screaming into a nightmare it cannot escape from.

The fate of Equestria once again hangs in the balance. Will the brave heroes and heroines of the land uncover these vile plots and foil them as they have many times before or has the time come for the world to embrace new masters?
