Chapters Prologue
Prologue - Story Written by Pinkie_Pie_
Rainbow Dash was on a cloud looking down at Ponyville. She was thinking of how she was going to do a Sonic Rainboom, her rare and fantastic trick that nopony but herself could pull off.
'Come on Rainbow!!!! You got to do this. Everypony needs to see how awesome you are. Oh, right, I gotta keep modest like Twilight said. Now, where and when am I going to do this Rainboom?'
Rainbow sped down toward main hall. As she got closer and closer a white cone started to appear in front of her. Right when she thought she was going to pull it off, the cone stopped forming, sending her flinging down to the ground.
"Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!" Rainbow shouted, falling and unable to move her wings due to her speed.
Right when she was about to hit the ground, a magical pink aura caught her seconds before she hit the ground. Rainbow had her eyes closed, wondering why she wasn't dead. She opened her eyes to find a dark blue maned alicorn staring at her.
"Rainbow, how many times do I have to tell you to be more careful about doing that?" Twilight asked.
"Too many Twi," Rainbow replied chuckling a bit. "Thanks for saving me again by the way."
"It was nothing."
"So, what are you up to? You know, besides saving my flank all the time."
"I was actually looking for you."
"Oh? Well I'm right here. What do you want?"
"I was wondering if you want to race me. You know, to help me get used to these wings," Twilight ruffled her wings as she added, "Oh and help me use Pegasus magic."
"Sure thing Twi. I can help you use Pegasus magic as good as you use Unicorn and Alicorn magic. Let's take to the sky!" Dash exclaimed as she took off to a cloud.
"Rainbow Dash!!!! Wait up!! You know I'm not as fast as you!!!" Twilight shouted, struggling to catch up to her best friend.
Luna looked at her starry ceiling in her chambers. She felt lonely. Sad. Mere words could not tell how she felt.
"Sister?" A white coated alicorn called out.
"Yes?" Luna replied.
"Do you miss them?" Celestia asked.
Silence filled the room as Luna thought of what her older sister asked. She really did miss her daughters. A lot even. When she came back from the moon, as soon as she saw them she almost cried.
"You can tell me Luna. If you miss them, I will ask them to come to the castle so you can tell them," Celestia said, hoping for a answer.
"Alright. But if they hate me after, its all your fault," The dark coated mare finally said.
"I will take that over nothing."
Together, they went out of the room to write the letter to Twilight and Rainbow. Luna knew deep down inside that her daughters will hate her for this. Alas, she couldn't live with herself if she didn't tell them.
Dear Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash,
Hello, Twilight. Make sure that Rainbow Dash reads this too. I'm writing to you because of a highly important meeting with me and my sister, Princess Luna. We must contact you both to come to the Canterlot Castle immediately.
Also, don't tell anypony about this letter. Make sure that not even your friends know, well, besides Rainbow Dash of course.
Come as soon as possible.
-Princess Celestia
P. S.
Luna here. You two must come here. We are in need to tell thou of what we must. Okay, I'm not going to talk in that 'Royal Thy and Thous'. Anyway, please come quickly. I don't think I can hold this secret much longer.
"Ah, we finished our letter, Tia," Luna said, clearly tired.
"It only took an half an hour. I couldn't have imagined that it would of taken that long. I guess when writing about something that is life changing, it's harder," Celestia replied.
"Yes, I guess," Luna sighed.
"Now we must prepare for what must happen next. I'll get some tea ready and notify the guards to be on alert for them."
"I'll make my room as inviting and comfy as I can. I will get some pillows too."
"Okay Lulu."
"Please stop calling me that."
"I will when you stop calling me Tia, Lulu," Celestia giggled, happy to have lightened up the mood.
"Oh so you want to play that game? Tia, Tia Tia!!!!!!" Luna shouted, laughing like crazy.
Together they laughed, untill making their separate ways to prepare.
Spike awoke with a burst of fire carrying a scroll from Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. He coughed, getting the rest of the fire out of his lungs. When he was done, Spike picked up the scroll.
"Huh....... A letter from Princess Celestia AND Princess Luna. How strange. It must be pretty important to be from both royals. TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE A LETTER FOR YOU FROM BOTH PRINCESSES!!!!"
"Spike, not so loud. I can hear you perfectly fine. Now, what about this letter?" Twilight questioned, coming down the stairs.
"Here, it's from Princess Celestia and Luna."
"Princess Celestia AND Luna?! Now that's odd. Can I see it Spike?"
"Sure thing Twilight!" Spike exclaimed, giving Twilight the letter.
Twilight took the letter in her magic. She read it over, gasping at the end.
"What's it say, Twilight?" Spike asked.
"I have to get Rainbow Dash!!!!" Was all she said, before disappearing.
"Twilight wait!! What does it say?!" Spike shouted, but got no answer. She was to faraway to hear.
"Oh great...." He muttered under his breath.
Twilight finally got to Rainbow's cloud home. She was panting, due to not being used to flying for so long. She knocked on the door, seconds later a rainbow maned pegasus opened it.
"Hey Twilight," Dash said coolly.
"Rainbow, Princess Celestia and Luna want us at the Canterlot Castle right now," Twilight said in panic.
"Woah, cool! Let's get to the train station then."
That was what was said before they flew off.

Chapter One - A New Truth Written by Pinkie_Pie_
Ponies gasped and stared as Rainbow and Twilight flew by. They didn't care for the stares though, they had somewhere to be.
"Twilight, why do you think the princesses are calling us to their castle?" Rainbow asked as they flew into the sight of the Friendship Express Train.
"I don't know Dash. It can't be for the Elements of Harmony, or we would all be here," Twilight replied.
Silence came as they stopped flying and got their tickets to Canterlot. When they got on the train, the pair looked for an empty cabin. Neither of them wanted anypony to hear what they were going to be talking about.
"Ah, finally! An empty cabin! It seems everypony is traveling at this time," Twilight exclaimed, breaking the silence.
"Now, can you put up privacy spells? We don't want anypony to hear us, right?" Dash said pointing her head toward the door.
"Oh right, I almost forgot!" The alicorn exclaimed, powering a privacy spell for the pair.
"Now, why do you think they are calling us? This must not be good if it is only the two of us. Not to mention Princess Celestia said to tell nopony, and for us to come alone," Twilight wondered.
"Um..... What if we are really sisters?! Imagine it. Me and you, the daughters of a Royal!" Dash shouted.
"Dash? I want something that is realistic please."
"Hey! It could happen!"
"Well, it would explain why we are much closer than the rest of are friends are to us. But, it is highly impossible. I'm the daughter of~ you aren't listening are you?"
"Wha? Did you say something else?" Dash asked looking up. Then doing a Twilight impression she added, " I'm pretty sure it is highly Impossible. And I'm Twilight Sparkle. I think Rainbow Dash is the coolest pony of~"
"RAINBOW DASH!!!!!" Twilight exclaimed, clearly annoyed.
"Alright, alright, I'm done. But lighten up, old timer."
The rest of trip went by fast. All they did was guess what the princesses could be summoning them for. Soon The Friendship Express Train came to a stop at Canterlot.
"All leaving for Canterlot, watch your step!!!!" The conducter exclaimed.
"Oh we're here already? That went by fast," Twilight said.
"Let's go see what the princesses want Twi!" The Pegasus shouted, speeding past her friend.
"RAINBOW!!!!!" Was all she said before deciding to just teleport them to the castle.
"Wha? Twilight why did you do that? Were you afraid you would lose against me?" Rainbow asked.
"No, it saved a lot of time though," She replied.
Two guards approached the two mares. One, clearly more experienced, looked down to them, then at his friend.
"Are you Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash?" Asked the second guard.
"Of course it's Princess Twilight! How do you not recognize your princess?" The first guard shouted. "Forgive me, princess."
"It's alright."
"Now, I presume that you are Rainbow Dash?" The guard asked, staring at Dash.
"Yep. The one and only."
Twilight resisted the urge to roll her eyes. 'I can't believe she actually does that in front of everpony. Even the guards'.
"You two must follow me. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna await your arrival," The first guard said. He looked at his friend, adding, "Joe, keep guard while I take them to the princesses."
Joe saluted and remained standing as a statue. The first guard nodded toward the pair and took the lead into the castle.
The guard and the pair finally arrived at Princess Luna's Chambers after an uneventful trip. Twilight looked puzzled, wondering why they were at Luna's chambers.
The guard knocked on the door to the chamber. Dash and Twilight looked at each other wondering the same thing. 'Why are we here? What do they want? Is it bad? I'm so nervous!'
"Come in, dear Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash," Princess Luna said on the other side of the door.
The guard started it's way back to the front of the castle, leaving Twilight and Rainbow alone.
Twilight opened the door, leading Dash into Luna's chambers. Inside, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna sat on pillows. In the middle was a table with four cups and a teapot. Around it was four pillows. One was yellow, which Princess Celestia was currently sitting on. Another was dark blue, Princess Luna's. A dark purple one was next to Princess Celestia, for Twilight obviously. The last one was a light blue, for Rainbow Dash.
The two Alicorn sisters gestured for them to sit down. Dash looked at Twilight, who nodded. Together, they nervously sat down on the pillows that seemed to fit them.
"Tea anypony?" Princess Celestia offered.
"Uh sure," Twilight and Rainbow said in union, before laughing together.
Princess Luna giggled, happy to see them getting along. She wondered how she was going to say this.
"Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, why have you called us here?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, I mean like, it can't be because of the Elements of Harmony, you would of told us all to come. Not just the two," Dash added.
Princess Luna glanced at her sister. Celestia got the hint that she didn't know how to start, and decided to for her. She took a deep breath before starting.
"Girls, do you remember how you guys got your Cutie Marks at the same time?" Celestia asked.
"Yes! If it wasn't for Rainbow Dash here, I would have failed my exam!" Twilight answer at the same time as Rainbow said "Yes".
"Well do you know why you both have very strong abilities in what you do? Or why you got your Cutie Marks at the same time?"
"I was a flare before you taught me, Princess. You said I have raw magical ability that you have never seen. But, no I really don't know why, come to think of it. As for your second question, all of our friends got our Cutie Marks at the same time," Twilight answered right away.
"Because I am just that awesome," Rainbow Dash answered shortly after.
This time Twilight did roll her eyes. She couldn't help it when her friend acted so cool.
"Well, you two want to know why we called you here right?" Luna asked finally.
"Yes!!!" They said in union again.
"Well, you promise you won't get mad right?"
"Why would we? It can't be that bad."
"Um... Well, you see, you two are sisters," Luna nervously said. "And I'm your mother."
"WHAT?!" Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle exclaimed.
"Bu - Me and Dash - Wha - How - WHAT?" Twilight stuttered.
"Please, let me explain," Luna pleaded.
"But how? We are friends! Not sisters!" Dash exclaimed, clearly confused.
Twilight fainted from the overwhelming information she was given. Dash narrowed her eyes and cases Luna again. "Not yet, Luna."
Dash picked up the limp alicorn in her hooves and flew off. She didn't know the castle very well, so she flew to the throne room.
"Luna? Are you okay?" Her sister asked.
"No," Luna said as she got up and decided to chase them. Before she could take off though, a white wing got in her way.
"I'm sorry. I think it will be best if you give them some time. Don't go running or flying after them. Just let Twilight and Rainbow come back on their own. Please, sister. For their sake."
Silence. Luna was thinking.
More silence. More thinking.
"Okay. I'll only do it for them," Luna finally said, breaking the silence.
Twilight awoke in the throne room. She didn't see anypony, and looked around.
"Why am I here?"
"Twi?"
Startled, Twilight looked up, to see her fri~ sister above her.
"Dash!" Twilight exclaimed, before jumping up to see her new, well, old sister.
"Hey Twi! Are you alright? You fainted so I carried you here."
"I'm not really fine. Can we talk about it?" Twilight's irises fell upon her sister's, with hope in her own.
"Sure, uh, sis."
"You really don't have to do that."
"Might as well now."
"True."
Silence. It seemed silence liked to come more and more these days.
"I just don't get it. Why would she hide this from us?! I mean, why give us up? And even if she had to, why put us in different families? I'm just so confused!" Twilight lashed out all the anger she had.
"I know right! I mean like, it kinda makes sense now. Like, how we were closer to each other than the rest of our friends. But the only thing I don't get is, who was our father? I didn't hear anything about a father," Rainbow replied, putting some of her anger out too.
"Yeah.... You're right."
"Maybe we should go back and get answers?" Rainbow questioned.
"I don't think so, Dash. We need to cool down. Let them come to us. I don't know about you, but I'm going to the guest chambers. I'll leave a note on Celestia's and Luna's chambers to tell them where I am. You want to come with?" Twilight offered with hopeful eyes that her sister will come.
"Okay, we can talk about this tomorrow I guess."
Luna awoke to a knock. She fell into a light nap waiting for her daughters to come back. Alas, they have not yet.
"Your highness, your breakfast is ready," Joe said from behind the door.
"Thank you Joe. I will be down soon," Luna replied from the other side.
Honestly, Luna didn't feel like eating. She was to worried about her daughters to even think straight.
"Lulu? Please, come down eat. It'll make you feel better," Celestia pleaded.
"I just want them," Luna mumbled.
"You just have to wait, dear sister."
"Okay fine I'll eat. If it'll make me feel better."
"Okay. I prepared your favorite! Oat pancakes!"
Luna's mood lightened at hearing that. She really did love those pancakes. Especially when Celestia made them.
"Okay I'll be down in a second. I just need to freshen up," Luna replied, heading to her shower.
"Okay dear sister!" Celestia said cheerfully, heading to the breakfast room.
"Twilight! Twiiiiilllight!!!!"
Silence.
"TWILIGHT WAKE UP!!!!!!!"
"Wha?" Twilight finally said groggily.
"Oh. My. Gosh! Do you know how hard it is to wake you up in the morning? It took ten minutes!" Dash ranted.
"Sorry, I usually go to bed at nine and wake up at ten. I'm not use going to bed at eleven and waking at nine," Twilight rambled.
"No offense sis, but I personally don't care about when you wake up or go to bed. Right now we need to get to Prin~ ahem. Aunt Celestia and, um, mother," Rainbow said those last words nervously. She clearly didn't like the idea of saying that.
"Oh.... Right. I almost forgot about that," Twilight mumbled.
Dash fidgeted with her hooves for a second. The pegasus pony did not know what to say.
"Well, I'm gonna go freshen up," Twilight said, heading to the guest shower.
"After let's go to breakfast. I'm starving!" Rainbow Dash said, almost drooling over the thought of royal oat pancakes. Those were her favorite!
Celestia was waiting at the breakfast table quietly chatting with the chef about what to make for lunch when Luna came in.
"Good morning Luna," Celestia greeted.
"Yes, good morning Prince~ mother," Two voices said in union.
Startled, Luna and Celestia looked to find Twilight and Rainbow staring right back at them.
"You came back!!!" Luna gasped, relieved.
"Yes, but we want answers," Rainbow said.
"And answers are what you shall get," Luna said.
"Let's just eat first. I'm starving!" Twilight said, diving into a pancake.
Celestia glanced at Luna, who was giggling. She decided to laugh as well. This was a happy moment. Might as well love it while it's here.
Chapter Two - Explanations
Chapter Two - Explanations Written by Pinkie_Pie_
The royal family soon finished their breakfast and headed to Luna's chambers. It was time for everything to be revealed. No lies. Just truth.
"Now, can you please tell us everything? I will try to not run out this time." Twilight whined.
"We're almost there. It'll be more comfortable in my chambers then here." Luna replied.
Before anypony could complain, Luna teleported them to the door. She sent the guards away so they couldn't hear herself, Celestia, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash chat about this.
"Now, how did this all start? Wasn't Luna on the moon?" Rainbow questioned.
"I was indeed on the moon." Luna replied.
"Then how did you give birth to us?" Twilight asked.
"You two are a thousand years old." Celestia mumbled.
"WHAT?" The two sisters shouted.
"Yes...... You are I'm afraid..." Luna whispered.
"Explain, please." Twilight commanded.
"Three years before Nightmare Moon, I fell in love with a bat pony. His name was Shadow Blood. He was part of my guard, so I got to see him often. Shadow and I started seeing each other more and more, untill he proposed to me. " Luna started.
"I accepted, of course. But, when I went to tell Tia about my proposal, she forbid it, saying 'princesses shouldn't really get married, dear sister.' I went behind her back and did anyway. Shadow and I held it in the castle gardens back in the Everfree Castle."
"As we said our vows, an unwanted guest came and crashed our marriage. It was Celestia, but she wasn't very pleased. I told her that I will keep it hidden, and Tia left it at that."
"She was being quite stubborn, but as time went on, my sister started becoming very fond of your father. That was before he was killed. The captain of my guard sent him to battle the griffons invading our territory of Equestria. I cried very hard, considering that I had nopony else."
"Months after his death, I got over it. But, I found out that I was carrying you two. Our love must have been strong enough to be able to have kids. I was very excited, but again, when I told my sister, she didn't approve. 'I knew this would happen!' I was devastated she didn't want you two."
"About a year before Nightmare Moon, you two were born. The most beautiful Alicorns I have met. Tw~"
"Wait, wait, wait, you need to tell me I'm an Alicorn?!" Rainbow Dash interrupted.
"Yes, now may I continue?" Luna asked, annoyance in her voice.
"Yeah, go ahead."
"Okay, where did I leave off? Oh right! Twilight, I named you after the twilight sky, and how you sparkled under the stars. Rainbow, you were named after your mane. Dash wasn't part of your name untill you started flying. Then you became Rainbow Dash."
"You two loved each other. Hung out, played, slept sometimes even. It was so adorable. Celestia started playing with you guys too. It was all wonderful untill my jealously took over. I didn't think ahead, just thinking I would win."
"..."
Luna choked on her tears. She was fully sobbing by now.
"I-i didn't e-even get to say goodbye to you guys." Luna cried.
Rainbow and Twilight glanced at each other. They had the thought to help comfort their mother, princess, and friend.
Dash and Twilight walked up to Luna. They sat down, and nuzzled her.
"It's okay Lu~mother. We're here now." Twilight said.
"Thanks, my little stars. Now, I really should continue."
"Okay, but if it hurts you can stop."
"When I was sent to the moon, I was me. Nightmare Moon was no more. I started crying. Sobbing. Bauling my eyes out."
"Nightmare Moon didn't come back untill it was the year of the thousandth Summer Sun Celebration. I told myself that I would rid my sister from this world. I wasn't myself. And when I did return, I did just what Nightmare Moon wanted. I banished Celestia to the sun. It can't burn her, being the sun princess and all, but she wasn't on this world."
Twilight and Rainbow gasped at this. They looked at their aunt, who nodded. Meaning, it was true
"When I went to Ponyville, I saw you two. 'It can't be! Twily and Dashie are long gone! Was all I told myself. I acted like you two were Celestia. Not knowing it was my daughters."
"I didn't realize it was you two untill Twilight called out your names and the elements you represent. I cried inside. Almost going back to Luna. That was untill the nightmare took full control of me."
"You saved me. And for that, I will be forever grateful. I would be even more if you just forgive me, but I know it won't happen just like that." Luna finished.
Twilight looked puzzled. She didn't get how they didn't remember this or why they are so young looking still. Not to mention Rainbow is supposed to be an alicorn.
"Lun~mother, I'm never gonna get use to that. Mother, what about when you were still on the moon? How do we not remember this? I'm so confused!" Twilight questioned.
"That's where your aunt comes in. Ask her, I admit I have no idea." Luna admitted.
Rainbow Dash and Twilight turned their heads to their aunt. She sighed, took a deep breath before starting with part of the story.
"When Luna went to the moon, it was the saddest day of my life. It was even worse when I remembered you two. I rushed to your guy's room, staring down. What I saw was horrible. You had a dark magic effecting you both. If I didn't remove it, you might have died.
Rainbow's jaw dropped. Twilight just sat there, flabbergasted. When no words were spoken, Celestia started again.
"I knew the only way to save you was to remove some of your magic. I took both of your Earth pony Magic, but the rest was different. I didn't realize the spell I was using removed different magic each time. It made Twilight only have Unicorn Magic, and Rainbow Dash only have Pegasus Magic. You still had a your horn and wings, so I put an magical illusion on you two. Which means it wasn't seen or felt."
"After I was done, you two fell into Magic Comas. They kept you young and stopped you from getting older looking. You didn't wake up untill eighteen years ago. Then I put you in different families. It was very unfortunate that came to be. I couldn't put you together because you don't really look away. Twilight's 'brother' Shining Armor looks a little like her, having his Cutie Mark be a star like hers. Rainbow, I put you with the only ponies who promised to send you to flight school to learn how to fly."
"The day you got your Cutie Marks was amazing. The reason why you have such great abilities in what you do is because Alicorn magic was left in your bodies. It must of mixed into the magic you only had at the time. Which means, you still had a little Earth pony strength, Unicorn Magic, and Pegasus Magic."
"I invited Twilight into my castle so I could at least get to know one of my nieces. But when she moved to Ponyville, I realized that Rainbow Dash lived there. I wanted you guys to become friends. That way when this time did come, it wouldn't be as bad as trying to get along with a complete stranger."
Twilight nodded in response. She knew that what her aunt said and did was true. Twilight just couldn't get over the fact that she is a heir to the throne.
"So, we're both Alicorns?" Dash interrupted Twilight train of thought.
"Yes you are. Heirs to the throne." Luna replied.
"Um. I think I need some more to think about this." Dash said, rubbing her temples.
"Its okay. If I was told that my whole life was a lie, I would need some time too." Luna said.
"But is there anyway to give me my horn back?" Rainbow asked.
"Yes there is." Celestia replied.
"Then can you give it back? It would be so awesome to be an Alicorn!"
"Uh, yes I can. But, it'll take some time."
"Do it please! I want to be an Alicorn!!!" Rainbow pleaded.
"You basically already are one. I mean, you were born as one Dashie." Luna giggled.
"Oh right." Dash said plainly.
After a few moments of thought, Celestia's horn light up with a pale yellow aura. Around Rainbow Dash was the same color. A few seconds later, a horn the size of Twilight's appeared. Luna conquered a mirror up for her to look at her reflection.
"Woah! This is SO AWESOME!!!!!" Rainbow shouted, jumping around as high as Pinkie Pie could.
"It does suit you rather well." Celestia admited.
Does this mean we're all good?" Luna asked, hope in her eyes.
"I don't know. I mean like, why tell us now? Why not when mother came back? It still doesn't make any sense!" Dash said, with question in her eyes.
"Do you want the full explanation?" Celestia asked, sighing.
"Yes!" They said in union.
"Well, I was planning on telling you years before your mother came back, but you wouldn't understand as well. That's what I truly thought. But I realize now that I was just afraid. Luna wasn't with me. You are her kids, and she should be the one to tell you." Celestia started.
"But then I came back from the moon. Tia kept bugging me about it, while telling me how much she missed me." Luna started, rolling her eyes at her sister. "Anyway, I didn't want to because I knew you would hate me for it. And I was right. You two ran out. But that's not important right now. Five years after, I finally gave in. Celestia doesn't let something go if she really wants it just to let you know."
It was Celestia's turn to roll her eyes. She pushed Luna and Luna pushed back. They started laughing after a while of pushing each other.
"Okay, so Rainbow, you still need your Unicorn Magic. Do you really want it?" Celestia asked.
"Of course!"
"Yeah, of course what's the point then? Silly me." Celestia said, facehoofing.
Ten seconds later, the same aura developed Rainbow. After a minute of strained magic, Rainbow was visible again.
"Try it out." Twilight said.
"I don't know how Twily!" Rainbow said, looking down at her hooves.
"Just try to lift this book." Twilight replied, conquering a book up with her magic.
"How?"
Twilight sighed. She knew this was going to be hard to help Dashie.
"Reach out with your magic. Imagine picking it up. Make it come towards you. Just think of it coming to you. Summon your Unicorn Magic too." She tried to explain.
Dash's horn sparked with dark blue.
Another spark.
More sparks.
Finally, after several tries, Dash got her horn to glow in her aura fully.
"Woah this is so cool!" Dash exclaimed
"I know right! The more spells you learn, the more fun it is!" Twilight replied excitedly.
"No not that, my magic color thingie!"
"Magic aura." Twilight corrected.
"Whatever. Just look! Its a dark blue! That looks good with my colors." Dash bragged.
Twilight facehoofed. Dash didn't realize that wasn't what magic is all about.
"Ugh. Just try to lift the book okay?" Twilight asked.
"Alright, alright. I am!" Dash shouted.
After a few tries, Rainbow got her horn to light and started attempting to move the book towards her.
One try, didn't work.
Two tries, didn't work.
Several tries later, still didn't work.
After what seemed like hundred tries later, the book lifted one inch, and came towards the two in two inches.
"This is hard!" Dashie complained, sweat rolling down from her brows.
"It gets easier. You just have to keep trying." Twilight encouraged.
"It better." Dash grumbled.
"So, who's up to a meeting with some politics? We can announce your heir to the throne." Celestia said changing the subject.
"Uh, fine." Twilight mumbled.
"I guess." Dash said, slightly louder than what Twilight said. "But we still don't accept it."
"I don't expect you to just like that." Luna said.
Together, the royals all trotted into the throne room while Celestia requested a meeting.
Chapter Three - Meetings and More Meetings
Chapter Three - Meetings and More Meetings written by Pinkie_Pie_
Celestia entered the throne room. Stress was written all over her face.
"Dear sister, did they give you a hard time?" Luna questioned.
"They were irritated at me for making a meeting on such short notice." Celestia answered.
"One day we need to give them a piece of our mind." Luna said.
There was a knock at the door. Celestia opened it with her magic to see a guard standing on the other side.
"Um, your highness, they are waiting at the castle doors." She said nervously.
"Thank you, lady Sunny Star. Tell them they can come in at noon."
Sunny bowed, and went on her way. Celestia closed the door, then walked up to a closet and waved for her nieces to come over.
"Okay everypony. We have four minutes to get everything ready. I need to uh, get some things I've made for you two over the years..." The sun princess said.
Twilight and Rainbow looked at each other. They went over to their aunt, only to find two mini thrones made just to fit them.
"These are for you. Me and your mother have ones already. We thought that heirs to the throne should too." Celestia answered their gazes.
"Um....."
Twilight picked up her purple throne in her aura and placed it next to Celestia's. Rainbow tried to do the same, but failed. Instead, Twilight did it for her.
"It looks rather good with the rest doesn't it?" Luna asked her daughters.
"Yeah I guess so." Dash replied.
"Now that's done, we must create a rather regal look for you, Dashie. Being a Wonderbolt is pretty good for a start. But, if you accept this fully, you're going to need a crown. Like Twilight, you don't have to wear it a lot if you don't want to, but at times like this, you would want to." Celestia announced.
Rainbow groaned at her aunt. "Why do I have to get a crown? Sure, I'm a princess but do I really have act as one and all that?"
Luna and Celestia laughed. "My goodness dear, where did you get all that from? Of course not! You may act as you wish. But, at times like these, please be more regal." Luna answered.
Dash shrugged. "I don't know, my brain?"
Twilight stared at her sister and facehoofed. 'Oh my gosh, why is my sister so weird?'
Sunny knocked on the door again. Luna opened it, and Sunny walked in.
"Princess, they are at the door waiting. It's noon now. I suggest you take your seats."
Celestia gasped and went to her throne. Once there, she waved for her sister and nieces to come over too.
"We're ready, lady Sunny. Please send them in." Celestia said, putting on her regal face.
Sunny bowed again, then went out the door. Two seconds later, she returned with a bunch of ponies.
"Now what is the meaning of th~ WHAT?" One pony gasped.
The rest of the group stared at what the first pony was looking at. They all gasped when they saw Twilight and Rainbow, sitting on thrones.
"Now, why is there a new princess and a new Wonderbolt sitting on thrones?!" The first pony demanded.
"Now Fancy Pants, that's no way to treat your princesses." Celestia said while pointing her wing at her nieces.
This time Fancy Pants's irises fell onto Rainbow's horn. His ears dropped, and a few seconds later so did he. The rest of the ponies saw what he was doing, and bowed for the heirs of the throne.
"My apologies, Princess Rainbow and Princess Twilight. I will be kind to you two, as of you have done nothing to me. Also, you are fair friends to the lady Rarity are you not?" Both of them nodded at this. "Very well. I will be talking to the rulers now." He said, turning his head towards Celestia and Luna.
"Now, what are they doing here sitting on THRONES?" Fancy demanded to know.
Celestia sighed. 'I really need to get new politics.' "They are heirs to the throne. Princess Luna's daughters."
Fancy gawked, then put his eyes on Luna. "Is this true?"
Luna nervously nodded.
Fancy's eyes widened as his jaw dropped. After a few seconds his eyes turned to anger."And you're just now telling us?! How long have they known?"
"Um... Since yesterday." Twilight said.
Fancy grunted in response. "I don't approve of this."
That's when Luna had enough. She stood up from her throne, irises boiling in anger.
"That's it! What makes thou think thou hast a word in art family? Hmm? Thy thought so! Art thou going to do that again? No! Now thou can just shut thou's mouth and mind Thou's own business! We were just filling thou in with information so thou knows! Not to have Thou's opinion! Thy thinks we're done here."
Luna stuck her nose in the air and sat back down. The politics, who were shaking due to Luna's Royal Canterlot Voice, finally stood back up.
"Uh, I think the fair lady Princess Luna is right. My apologies, princess." Fancy said, bowing.
"Hmph!" Was all Luna said in response.
"Dear sister, please cut the act. They said they're sorry." Celestia pleaded, with worry eyes.
"They don't have respect sister. I'm doing this to shape them into good mares and gentlecolts." Luna whispered back to her sister.
"So, how is this going to work?" Fancy asked.
"Well, later in maybe a day or two, we I'll announce the news to the public. But for now, we will let them go back to their friends before that so they can tell them before the public knows." Celestia replied.
Twilight and Rainbow's eyes widened. They really missed their friends.
"Hmm. Fair enough. I guess we'l be out of your manes' now." Fancy said, waving a hoof at his group to leave.
"Thank you, Fancy Pants."
"It was nothing. I wish you luck on your announcement."
The politics all left, leaving the royals alone with their thoughts. Twilight glanced at her aunt, who was still staring at the door. Celestia sighed.
"What's wrong auntie?" Twilight asked, wincing as she said auntie.
"I guess I'm just tired, that's all."
Luna rose an eyebrow at that. "Sister, just ask them for me. For you. I know you wish to get to know them more, as do I."
"Okay Luna." She whispered back.
"Twilight, Rainbow, we've been meaning to ask you something." Celestia started.
"What is it?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah just spit it out." Rainbow said.
"Well, here goes nothing. Do you guys want to move to Canterlot and live with your mother and I? It would mean a lot." Celestia blurted out.
Twilight and Rainbow's jaws dropped. "But what about our friends in Ponyville?" Rainbow asked.
"You can ask them if they want to move in with you. We have many spare bedrooms." Luna said quickly, eager to do anything to make her daughters move in with her.
Twilight and Rainbow looked at each other. Before anything was said, Twilight answered for both of them." We'll think about it on our train ride back to Ponyville." Twilight said, while Dash nodded in agreement.
"Okay, fair enough. We can't expect you to say yes right away." Luna said, sighing out a sigh of hope and relief that they didn't say no.
"So, when can we leave for the train station?" Rainbow asked.
"Well, we would like it if you spent the day with us." Luna said, fidgeting with her hooves.
"Um... I guess. It's the least we can do." Twilight said, giving in maybe too easily.
"So, who wants lunch?" Celestia asked, changing the subject. "I can make daisy hayburgers for everypony!"
Instantly, Twilight, Rainbow, and Luna's jaws dropped. "Hayburgers? Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!!" They all shouted.
Celestia laughed. "You guys have to much in common."
Celestia left the room with Luna, Rainbow, and Twilight following close behind while talking about food and what their friends will say to this.
Chapter Four - Coming Home
Chapter Four - Coming Home written by Pinkie_Pie_
Twilight and Rainbow walked threw the castle doors. They were on their way back to Ponyville.
"So, how are we gonna tell them?" Rainbow asked.
"I don't know. Maybe we could meet them at Sugarcube Corner and tell them?" Twilight suggested.
"Excuse me princess, are you riding on the train?" A voice asked.
"Wha? Oh! Yes we are conductor." Twilight said, fazed for the moment.
"Well welcome aboard! I can give you the finest cabin there is. How about the royal cabin? It's just for ponies like you two!"
"Oh thanks. But, we can just take a normal cabin." Twilight insured.
"Alright if you say so your highness." The conductor said, not wanting to fight with a princess.
Rainbow and Twilight walked onto the train. From there, they found a cabin with nopony in it and cast the soundproof spell.
"So, how are we gonna hide my horn and the whole thing before my coronation?" Rainbow asked, putting a hoof to her horn.
"I can put a illusion on it." Twilight suggested.
"Is that our only option?"
"Pretty much."
"Well do it then!"
"Alright, alright I am!"
A magic pink aura surround Rainbow's horn. After a few seconds, it was gone along with the horn.
"I really need to learn how to do this stuff Twily. I can barely lift a book." Rainbow said, proving it as she just barely lifted one of her sister's books.
"Hey! No touchy!" Twilight said, snatching the book out of Rainbow's aura.
"I was just showing you okay!?"
"If you're so into magic then why don't I just teach you when we get back home?"
"Okay. The more magic I can do, the more awesome I will be." Dash said, earning a facehoof from Twilight.
"You don't get the meaning of magic do you?" Twilight muttered.
"Nope! And I don't care what the meaning is anyway."
The train stopped at a screech. Twilight and Rainbow put their hooves to their ears to put them at ease.
"All leaving to Ponyville watch your step!" The conductor said.
"Well, we better get going Dash." The purple alicorn said.
They walked out of the cabin and onto the station. Before they made it out of the train though, a pink maned earth pony grabbed them.
"Where have you two been?!" The mare practically screamed, earning glares from the ponies around the station.
"Pinkie Pie! How did you know we were coming off the train?" Twilight asked, knowing she would regret that.
"My 'Pinkie Sense' told me! Now where were you guys!!??"
"Yeah it was pretty strange. Spikey-Wikey came running into my store saying you just ran off to get Rainbow and never came back." Rarity chimed in.
Twilight glanced at Rainbow. She could tell she was sweating a little.
"Uh... We were in Canterlot. The princess sent me a scroll saying to only get Rainbow and leave." Twilight nervously answered.
"And why couldn't ya have told us first?" Applejack asked in her normal southern accent.
"The princess said to tell nopony." Rainbow responded.
"Well can you tell us why you left now?" Pinkie asked, her eyes practically bulging out of their sockets.
"Uh.... We will tell you later. Meet us at Sugarcube Corner at noon." Twilight said.
"Okie dokie lokey! That gives me time to plan your 'Welcome Back to Ponyville' party!" Pinkie siad, skipping off to get more decorations.
"She is so random sometimes." Applejack confirmed, facehoofing.
"Uh Twilight?" Fluttershy said, breaking her silence of not speaking.
"Yes Fluttershy, what is it?" Twilight asked, turning her head towards Fluttershy's.
"How was Canterlot? If you don't mind me asking, that is." She asked.
"I don't mind you asking Flutters. It was pretty, uh, different." Twilight answered, backing away. "Well, me and Rainbow need to go! Bye!!" She said, running off to her castle.
Rainbow and Twilight walked into Twilight's castle. It was clear they were starving.
"Spike? Spike!!!!" Twilight called.
"Twilight? Is that you? Where were you! What did the princesses want? Are you okay?" Spike asked.
"Woah there! Slow down Spike I'm fine. Can you go make us some food? We are starving!" Twilight siad, giving the little dragon a hug.
"Sure thing Twi!" He said, running off to the kitchen.
"Now, how should this whole thing go? How do we tell them?" Dash asked.
Twilight rose an eyebrow. "I already told you. We're meeting them at Sugarcube Corner."
Rainbow facehoofed. "No not that! I mean, like how are we gonna tell them? Do we just blurt it out? Do we tell them exactly what mother and auntie said?"
"Ohh! You mean that kina of how! Well, we should take it slow. And once we tell them, I can take the illusion off your horn."
"Simple enough."
Spike came through the door and into the breakfast room. "Your breakfast is ready Twilight! Oh and Rainbow!" He called.
"Coming!" Twilight and Dash said in union.
"We have got to stop doing that." Dash muttered between giggles.
"I think it's funny." Twilight giggled.
They went to the table and sat down.
Twilight and Rainbow entered Sugarcube Corner to find streamers and a cake. Their friends were sitting at a table waving for them to come over.
"Did you like the decorations for you party? Did ya, did ya, did ya!?" Pinkie shouted.
"Uh sure...." Dash said nervously.
Rarity saw that they both were like that. "What's wrong, darlings?" She asked in a worried tone.
"Yeah, and what is it that ya wanted to tell us?" Applejack asked.
"Yeah, um, I would like to know too. If you don't mind that is." Fluttershy whispered.
Twilight glanced at Rainbow, who waved her hoof for her to start. She took a deep breath, and opened her mouth to speak. "Well, do you guys want to know the whole story or just the main part?"
"Well, I would indeed want to know and understand it all, Darling. So please, the whole story." Rarity answered.
"Okay, so you know how we were called to the Canterlot Castle?" All her friends nodded. "The reason they called us there, is because.... we are sisters." Twilight said in a whisper practically impossible to hear.
"What was that?" Pinkie asked.
"I said... we are sisters." she whispered again, only louder this time.
"One more time!" Pinkie said, annoying Twilight very much.
"I said...
WE ARE SISTERS!!!!!
" She screamed, glad that nopony but herself, her sister, and friends were in there.
Everypony blinked. Then stared. Then opened there mouths to find they couldn't speak.
"Come again?" Applejack finally managed to say.
"Me and Twi are sisters." Dash said.
"But.. How is that possible? You two are in different pony races." Fluttershy whispered.
"Actually, we are in the same race." Twilight said, removing the illusion from Rainbow's horn.
"What?! Of all the ponies that could be a alicorn princess it's Rainbow Dash?! This is unspeakable! I can't believe it!" Rarity shouted, eyes wide.
"I know it's crazy, but please let me explain." Twilight pleaded.
"Okie dokie loky!" Pinkie said, getting in a comfy position.
"Okay, so a thousand years ago, Princess L~"
"Wait just a darn second!" Applejack interrupted, putting a hoof up. "You need to tell me that you guys are over a thousand years old?!"
They nodded. "Again, let my sister tell our story." Dash said nodding for Twilight to continue.
"Okay, so Princess Luna fell in love and got married, but her husband died because of griffens. By the way, our dad was a guard. Anyway, after he died, mother found out she was carrying us, and later gave birth. But a year after, she went to the moon. When that happened, auntie Tia found that we were affected by some dark magic. So in order to remove it, she had to take some magic. We both lost our Earth pony magic, but the rest of the spell caused us to become different races instead of the same one." Twilight started.
"Then she put us in these magic comas that kept us young. We woke up eighteen years ago and started a new life." Dash ended.
Everypony blinked and stared at the two. They didn't know what to say.
"So, you guys are like 1,007 years old?" Fluttershy asked.
"Yes, I guess so."
"That. Is. AWESOME!!" Pinkie shouted, hopping around the room
"That is pretty amazing, dear." Rarity agreed. "When is your coronation Dashie?"
"What?"
"When your going to be crowned a princess."
"Oh yeah, about that."
"Mother and auntie invited us to stay with them. And said that you guys can come too." Twilight said for Dash.
"I would love too!" Rarity said before anypony else knew why they had just said.
"But the thing is, I don't know if we want to." Twilight continued.
"WHAT?! Oh Darling! This is a opportunity of a life time! You must do it!"
Twilight shook her head. " I don't know guys. I mean, I would have you guys with me, but I don't want to tear you apart from your home."
"It's okay Twilight, we can go with you and manage. Besides, you would be with your mother and auntie." Fluttershy insured.
"But mah apples! Ah would have to leave mah family! I'm with Twi on this one." Applejack said.
"You see? Not everypony wants to. I don't think I will." Twilight sighed.
"Oorr, we could spend a week there and see how it goes! That way, if we don't like it, we can stay in Ponyville!" Pinkie suggested.
"Uh Twi? I think that might work." Rainbow said.
"Who's in?" Twilight asked, putting her hoof out.
Pinkie put hers in, along with Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy hesitated, but put hers in at the end. Everpony was waiting on Applejack.
"Come on Applejack! It's just one week." Rarity said.
She sighed. "Fine. But only fer one week! And if ah don't like it, then ah'm moving' back with may family." Applejack gave in.
"Alright! We will be leaving soon. So go pack your things for a week's stay." Twilight said.
Everypony left, leaving Twilight and Spike alone for the first time in a while.
Chapter Five - Starry Night
Chapter Five - Starry Night written by Pinkie_Pie_
Twilight was just about to walk to Sugarcube Corner to meet her friends when she heard Spike burp. He ran downstairs to where Twilight was and gave her a scroll.
"Message from the princesses Twi." He said, giving her the scroll.
She read it, eyes wide, and ran out of the room.
"Wait Twilight! What is it this time? Don't tell me that Celestia is your sister and not your aunt!" He shouted.
"I will be back soon, Spike. Tell the others to head to the train station and leave for Canterlot while I get Rainbow Dash!" She commanded.
"Okay!"
"Rainbow! Come here quick! Mother and auntie want us in Canterlot immediately!" Twilight said when she knocked on the door of her cloud home.
"We were just going there though!" She whined.
"Well now I have to teleport us to Canterlot. I told Spike to tell our friends that we had to leave. Now, let's go get him and go!" Twilight exclaimed.
They flew to Twilight's castle. There, they picked up Spike, who was walking back from telling their friends that they had to leave. From there they teleported to the castle doors.
"Woah... Prepare me for that next time." Spike said, dazed.
"Sorry Spike."
Joe approached them. "Your highness. Princess Celestia and Luna will see you in the throne room. Please follow me."
They went to the throne room and found their mother and aunt in there. Tia was pacing around while their mother was sitting with worry written all over her face.
"Twily! Dashie! I'm so glad you're here! Something terrible has happened!" Luna gasped.
"What is it? And if it's terrible then how come you said for only us to come?" Twilight asked.
"This only involves you two. You see, our sister has returned." Celestia said.
"Sister?! You have another sister?! What else are you hiding?" Spike asked.
"Yes I'm afraid. Her name is Starry Night. She helped Luna with the night. Starry's duty was to handle the stars, untill she turned on us. I banished her into one of the biggest stars, Canis Major. It seems when the stars aligned into Nightmare Moon's escape, so did she." Celestia said.
"But that was five years ago. Why is she now just a threat?" Dash questioned.
"Unlike Nightmare Moon, it took all of her power to get free. Starry didn't have any magic or strength, so she rested. But it seems that she found out about you." She replied.
"She went mad and turned evil because of the birth of you. When she found out I was carrying twins, Starry became the wicked Starlight Flames. You may not have heard the name, which is not unusual. Tia erased a lot of history." Luna said.
"So what is she after, exactly?" Twilight asked.
"Funny you should ask that, she's looking for you two."
Rainbow and Twilight gasped. "What? Why did you call us? Do you want us to find her?." Rainbow asked.
"Um..... Well, yes actually." Celestia said, fidgeting with her hooves.
"Hold on a second!" Spike shouted, holding a claw up. "You need to tell me you're having the ponies who this Starlight pony is hunting down to find her?!"
They nodded. He gasped.
"What does she want to do to Twily!"
"We are not sure. But, she is older than me and Luna. I am not certain if she is very strong. But, Starlight seems to be strong enough to make a difference in the population."
"You need to tell me she has been, KILLING PONIES?" Rainbow gasped.
"Only one percent of Equestria." Luna ensured.
They let out their breath they were holding in. "That's a relief. I was worried she killed a whole town." Twilight said.
Celestia chucked. "Goodness no! She isn't that evil. At least I don't think..."
"Now, I know this may be a bad time, but have you made your choice whether or not you will move in with us?" Luna asked randomly.
"Actually, we will move in for a week. If we don't like it, than me and our friends will go back to Ponyville. If we do, we will gather all of our stuff and come to Canterlot permanently." Twilight explained.
"That sounds great. Are your friends on there way over?" Celestia asked.
"Yes they are, actually."
"Anywho, about the mission. We need you to go to the Crystal Empire. Starlight has captured Captain Shining Armor and Princess Cadance." Luna said.
"She got to Cadance?!" Twilight shouted.
They nodded. Twilight fell onto her hunches. "Poor Cadance..." She mumbled.
"As of the importance of this, we need you to leave right away."
"But what are we supposed to do? Why can't we have our friends too? We're stronger together!" Rainbow insisted.
"This is a family mission. They would do no good. Starlight only wants to see you. I do not know what she wants to do. But, we will be coming with you two."
"We will leave tonight." Twilight said before leaving the room.
Starlight stared at her crystal ball. She was watching her sisters and nieces get ready.
"Hahaha, in due time it will begin." She said wickedly to nopony in particular.
"Auntie! What do you want with us?!" Cadance shouted from the corner Starlight put her in.
Cadance was covered from horn to hooves in chains. She couldn't do anything but talk. Next to her was Shining Armor, her husband. Starlight walked up to them with a sneer on her face.
"Oh, Cady. You have no idea." Her horned glowed and there was a knock at the door. Starlight went out there and used her magic to make it seem like Twilight and Rainbow Dash were there.
"I hate Cadance! She was never my sister in the first place!" 'Twilight' sneered.
"Yeah that so called Captain of the Royal Guards? Shining Armor was it?" 'Rainbow' laughed.
"More like Stupid Armor!" 'Twilight' cackled.
Starlight walked back in the throne room. Cadance and Shining were shocked and crying. Starlight walked over and helped them relax.
"It's alright. I know how to get revenge on them." She cooed.
Cadance sniffed. "H- how?"
"Join me, and together we will at rule everypony." Her horn was glowing and their eyes turned blood red.
Cadance and Shining nodded, accepting to join her. Starlight smirked and let her magic drown them. They floated in the air, while they transformed. Their fur turned as black as the night. Their eyes were blood red. Shining was giving a pair of wings with blood red at the ends, while Cadance's wings dyed blood red at the end instead of her normal purple. Cadance was the first to snap back to reality.
"Wait! No!" She shouted.
Starlight shushed her then made a Celestia illusion behind Cadance.
"It's okay Cadance. Let her do it. Accept it and it'll feel like heaven." The illusion said.
She gasped, and let the magic over take her. It did feel like heaven. Fueled by hatred. More beautiful than ever. Serving the best pony in the world.
Starlight saw this, and took their free will. Then she let the rest of the transformation be as slow as ever, letting them enjoy it. Their mane's were darker. Their eyes became cat-like. They grew fangs. Cadance's regalia became blood red. Her mane was moving on it's own with instead of purple, pink, and yellow, her color changed to black, blood red, and dark purple. They both grew mildly to the size of Celestia. Finally, Starlight set them down.
"Rise." She commanded.
They did has told.
"Now, who do you hate?" She asked.
"We hate Celestia, Luna, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash, Princess Starlight Flames." They said in union.
"Please, call me Queen Starlight Flames."
"Yes Queen Starlight Flames."
"Now, who are you loyal to?"
"You, and you alone, Queen Starlight Flames."
"Perfect. You two are now known as Cadanza Flames and Shining Flames, my children of the stars." She cackled.
'Better watch out, dear. I have two that you love on my side.'
Chapter Six - Magic Lessons and Arrivals
Chapter Six - Magic Lessons and Arrivals written by Pinkie_Pie_
"Come on Rainbow!! We're going to be late if you don't hurry up!" Twilight shouted from the cloud door. "We need to be back in Canterlot as soon as possible so mother and auntie Tia can take us to the Crystal Empire!!!"
"I'm hurrying Twi! I just need to find my sunglasses."
Twilight facehoofed. They were at Rainbow's home in Ponyville to get some things they would need for a long train ride.
"We are going to be in the Arctic, Dash! It's going to be cold! You don't need sunglasses."
"You never know." She muttered.
"You sound like Rarity."
"Hey! Nopony compares me to anypony! Especially a fashion pony."
"Then let's go, Rainbow Fash ."
"I only did that to stick out." Rainbow grumbled, trotting out of her house.
Twilight and Rainbow got to the throne room in their future possible castle home. Their mother was waiting with a small bag with mostly appropriate items. Other things like, unnameable items were in there.
Celestia on the other hoof, was nowhere to be seen. The two younger sisters trotted in with their bags and set them down.
"Mother, where is Tia?" Twilight questioned.
Luna glanced up from staring into a pocket mirror. "Oh she always takes a long time. She says it's the appropriate amount of time to get ready. It honestly isn't, though."
"It totally is, moonbutt!" Celestia shouted, coming into the room with a bag of her own.
"No it isn't, sunbutt. And you know that." Luna said back with a giggle.
Twilight and Rainbow had kept their mouth's quiet for too long. They burst out laughing, falling on the floor.
"Sunbutt? Moonbutt? Who in hay says that? It's hilarious!!" Rainbow shouted.
"Yeah! What's next? Sparklebutt?" Twilight agreed.
Celestia and Luna gave each other a knowing smile. "Maybe. And maybe we can call you two 'Sparklebutt' and 'Rainbowbutt'." Celestia said with a sly smile while Luna nodded in agreement.
"Hey! Don't drag me into this! She is the one who said it!" Rainbow argued.
"But you laughed too, Dashie." Luna smiled.
Everypony was silent for a few seconds. Then they all laughed and headed to the Royal Carriage.
Starlight smiled into a reflection of her nieces and sisters traveling in their carriage in her crystal ball. Good, good. They are already on their way. We shall win this war.
"Queen Starlight Flames?"
Starlight glanced up to see Cadance staring at her. 'Good thing it looks like she isn't corrupted. We need them to feel and think they chose it on free will. No mind control.'
"What is it? Can't you see I'm busy?" She snapped.
"Most regrets, your Majesty, but I was wondering, what may I do to prepare for the evil?" Cadance asked.
"Ah, you may go to the armory and find armor. Take Shining Armor with you so he can too."
"Right way, my Queen." Cadance said, bowing down then grabbing her husband with her now dark red magic aura.
Starlight laughed at the sight. Shining yelped when Cadance suddenly picked him up. The pair started fighting, hitting each other. The elder alicorn rolled her eyes and levitated the two ponies with her magic outside the throne room.
"For the stars' sake..." She murmured.
Starlight glanced back into her crystal ball. Her sisters and nieces were already crossing Van Hoover. The city was pretty close to Ponyville and Canterlot, but still quite the distance away. They were at least two hours worth in their journey.
The alicorn smirked, then put her crystal ball away. 'Soon.....'
Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack made their way off the Friendship Express Train. After an uneventful trip to Canterlot, except for the bitterness she and her friends, minus Fluttershy, had let off due to Rainbow Dash and Twilight having to leave.
Before the Royal Family left, Princess Celestia alerted the guard to be on lookout for the group. This was proven to be useful, for many ponies were unable to make it in the castle.
The group had made their way to the castle doors. Rarity trotted up to the guard on duty, and opened her mouth to speak.
"Excuse me, darling. We were supposed to be here with Princess Twilight Sparkle to live here for a week. Anyway you~" Rarity was interrupted with a hoof held up to her. The guard had his eyes closed, and took a deep breath.
"Are you Lady Rarity, Dear Fluttershy, Madam Pinkie Pie, and Miss Applejack?" The group nodded. "I see. Princess Celestia has ordered me to wait for you. If you ever so will follow me, I will show you all to your dorms."
Everypony followed the guard. They went past the throne room, the kitchen, and headed up the stairs to a tower.
When the guard stopped, he stepped out of the way. Rarity's jaw dropped instantly, while everypony did so at their own pace.
The room was huge, four beds in the room, even though it could fit almost three more. The beds were queen sized, and were made of the finest silk and other materials. There was also two closets big enough for two ponies to share.
The guard bowed and left. "I shall leave you to yourselves, my ladies. If you are ever in need of anything, just call."
"Of course, sir." Rarity replied, watching the guard leave. When he left, she used her magic to close the door. The unicorn trotted up to the rest of her friends, who were already starting to unpack.
"This is so amazing! I've never been so excited in my life! Well, except for the time when I threw Twilight that 'Welcome to Ponyville!' party! And really, who could top that?" Pinkie exclaimed, hopping around.
"Pinkie, y'all are the weirdest pony ah've ever seen." Applejack said, shaking her head.
"I agree." Rarity agreed.
"Hehe! That's alright. Sometimes I don't even understand me! Cupcake?" The earth pony pulled a cupcake out of nowhere.
Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity all blinked. "Um, where did you get that from, Pinkie? If you don't mind me asking, that is." Fluttershy whispered.
"Oh I don't mind at all! I got it from Sugarcube Corner, silly!"
"Darling, she means where did you have it? Like, where it was being held when you just pulled it out of, um, wherever."
"Ohh! Well that's easy! I got it from the fourth wall!" Pinkie beamed.
Applejack facehoofed. "Okay, ah'm done here."
Everypony laughed and continued unpacking. When their friends came back, they had so much to catch up on. They all could already tell.
Dash stared at the sights. In the carriage, the guards were pulling them about ten hundred hooves high. 'Higher than I've ever gone.' Rainbow Dash thought, clearly impressed.
The cyan alicorn glanced at her sister. The lavender alicorn was asking questions about their long lost aunt Starlight.
'Well, this is a good time as any. Might as well ask Twily now.' Rainbow took a breath and opened her mouth. "Hey Twilight? I thought this was a good time as any to ask, so, well...." She trailed off.
"What is it, Dash?" Twilight questioned.
The former pegasus shook her head. 'What's with the hesitantion, Dash?! Come on! Just ask her!'
"Can you help me practice my magic? In case we need it, y'know."
Twilight's eyes lit up. "I thought you would have never asked!" Her horn glowed its normal pink aura and a second later a whole bunch of magic books appeared.
Celestia giggled. "Good luck, Dash. You just turned 'Egghead Mode' on."
Dash groaned. "Oh jeez..." She murmured.
"Dash! It's not that hard!" Twilight groaned, clearly annoyed and frustrated.
Dash rubbed the back of her mane. "Heh, sorry Twi. I don't understand why this is so hard for me."
Twilight had just gone over how to levitate items to her sister. Dash had spent the next twenty minutes attempting to actually DO it.
Rainbow Dash smiled with determination. "Don't worry, Twi. This is gonna be the one, I feel it."
"I hope so." The element of magic replied dryly, earning a glare from her mother.
"Twilight...." Luna said, her glare saying the rest.
"Sorry! I've been trying to teach her for over twenty minutes now. I'm just annoyed."
Luna nodded and turned her attention to her sister. They began chatting quietly.
Twilight's attention shifted back to Rainbow. She nodded, and Dash nodded back. It was the silent way of them telling each other to start.
Rainbow put herself into a more comfortable position. Her lit her dark blue aura, after a few tries of course. Her eyes focused upon the book Twilight was having her levitate.
Twilight had told her to try to lift the book up about a foot. Then once she is able to lift it with ease, start to try to make it move toward Rainbow. Easy sounding, huh? Not so much.
Dash's blue aura surrounded the book half way. The aura fell away, but came back a moment after.
Sweat was starting to roll down the cyan alicorn. 'Harder than it looks, I guess. Even with alicorn magic.'
Wait.
Twilight's eyes widened. Suddenly Rainbow's eyes flashed white and the book was levitated with ease. Everything else started to get enveloped in a dark blue aura as well, including the ponies on the carriage.
"Uh Twilight? H-help!!!!" Dash shouted, frightened at what was happening to herself.
"I'm trying!" The lavender alicorn replied. "Tia! Mother! Help! Dash has had a magic overload!"
"Dear Celestia!" Celestia shot a glare at Luna, who returned with a sorry smile. "Sorry, sister. That is the term our subjects say these days. But it seems Dashie has raw power, just like me, you, analicor You know what you need to do."
Celestia nodded and released herself from Dash's grasp. She flew trotted over to her, and put a hoof upon the young alicorn's chest.
Rainbow's eyes flashed red for not even a second, then returned to their original pink. She was fazed for a second, but then shook her head. The element of loyalty beamed and sped towards her aunt.
"Thanks for saving me. I have no idea what just happened. I just told myself to do this, and the next though you know I put too much power, somehow, into the spell! Then poof! I levitate you all like it's nothing!" Dash explained.
"That tends to happen when you're new to magic. It's called a outburst. When you preformed your first Sonic Rainboom Twilight had her outburst that got her in my school. Luna had one raising the moon, as of I had one raising the sun." Celestia replied.
"Huh." Was all Dash could say before the carriage stopped.
Celestia turned her head to face the guards pulling the carriage. They unhooked themselves and bowed. "Your Majesty, we have arrived at the Crystal Empire."
"I see. Thank you." She replied.
The guard who spoke saluted. The family jumped out of the carriage and started their way to the castle.
The empire seemed quieter than usual. The ponies were all in their homes, they guessed.
Celestia stopped at the castle. Her eyes widened. "Okay everypony, sorry for this, but I am needing to teleport us to the throne room right away. I sense Starlight."
When she got everyponies approval she fired.
They reappeared in front of the crystal throne. Twilight and Rainbow gasped. Luna glared, while Celestia jut stood with pride.
"Hello, Tia. Hello Luna. And don't forget Twily and Dashie!" Starlight smirked.
"Starlight...." Celestia murmured.

Starlight stood with pride and a menace smile upon her face. Celestia and Luna glared.
"It has been far too long, Tia. Don't you think so, Lulu?" Starlight said, fixing her gaze on her youngest sister.
"Not long enough." Luna spat.
Starlight laughed. "I see. You must be grateful for one thing I did for you. Isn't that right?"
Celestia bit her lip hard enough to draw blood. 'Come on, Tia. Stay strong. Don't clash out on her yet.'
"And what is it that you did, sister ?" Luna spat the last word out like it had poison on it.
"Why, I made you into Nightmare Moon! I fulfilled your dream of being loved. I granted your wish!"
Celestia and Luna's jaws dropped. "How dare you be the cause of our sister's nightmare!" Celestia shouted, her irises tinting a hint of red.
"Oh, tsk, tsk, Tia. She chose us when we offered her to take your spot. I told Luna she could destroy you, and she agreed. And I'm here to ask her a question."
Starlight walked over to the dark blue alicorn with pride. Luna turned her head away and used her wings to cover her face from seeing the menace smile.
Unfortunately, Starlight used her magic to move the wing out of the way with ease. The dark alicorn rolled her eyes at been sister's attempt.
"What do you want, Starlight?" Luna asked, her eyes still shooting daggers.
"Oh Luna, it's really more of what you want."
Luna's eyes tinted red for a moment. "W-what?"
"Don't you want ponies to love you?"
Luna had a confused expression upon her face. "They do love me."
Starlight shook her head. "Sure, a few maybe. But not as many as Tia."
Luna sat on her hunches and stared at her armored hooves. The navy blue alicorn held back some tears, but other than that they fell freely.
Starlight stood in front of her younger sister and lifted her head with her hoof. Luna stared into her eyes, which showed sadness to her.
"You can become Nightmare Moon again, and join me. Together, we can defeat Celestia and rule Equestria!"
Luna's eyes became red. She was still crying, but a smirk came upon her face. She did not notice however, that her fur was turning black and her armor becoming that of the Nightmare.
Celestia did, however. Her eyes widened and galloped over to her younger sister. "Luna! Don't do it! She's just trying to make you become Nightmare! Think about the love you have just gained, and how you will lose it!"
"But I will get even more in return! They will love me! ... No!.... Must resist... Tia! Help..... I will gain more love than you will ever dream of!"
Celestia panicked a bit. Twilight and Dash finally trotted out of the shadows and tapped their aunt. Celestia nodded at them to do what they wanted to do.
"Mother! Think about what else you will lose! Us! We finally know that you are our mother, and do you really want to lose that ?" Twilight called.
"Yeah! And guess what!" The young sisters nodded at each other. "We accept it!" Dash exclaimed.
That made Luna break free from Starlight's grasp. Her eyes returned to their normal teal color. The black fur disappeared and became navy blue again.
"Thank you, my little stars, if it weren't for you I would be Nightmare Moon." She turned to Starlight. "And will never join you."
Starlight rolled her eyes and shrugged. "Whatever." She trotted up to Twilight Rainbow Dash. "So, these are your daughters?"
"Like you care." Celestia grumbled.
"Stay away from them!" Luna exclaimed, stepping in front of her daughters.
"Mother, relax. We saved Equestria like, a dozen times." Dash said.
"Not to mention we are the Elements of Harmony bearers." Twilight agreed.
Starlight rose an eyebrow. "You guys have the Elements of Harmony?" She stepped back.
"Nah, we may be the bearers but the elements are in the Tree of Harmony." Dash replied.
Twilight shoved a hoof into her sister's mouth. "Dash! That's too much information! She can use that against us, you know?"
"No, not really."
Twilight facehoofed. "Never mind."
Starlight shook her head and stepped forward again, knowing that they didn't have much of a threat. "Well, Luna has daughters, where are yours, Celestia?"
Celestia looked down in shame. "I never married somepony." She murmured.
"What was that?"
"I said I never married somepony!"
"What? How is this? The ruler of Equestria doesn't have a special somepony? Oh dear!" Starlight exclaimed sarcastically.
"Oh be quiet, Starlight!" Celestia shouted.
"Oh Tia, getting under your fur is so wonderful."
"Enough!"
Celestia's eyes were red. She marched up to her older sister and slapped the smirk off of Starlight's face.
"Stop trying to get under my fur, peasent!"
Starlight just stood their with a stupid expression. "How dare you smack me!"
She was about to shoot a magic beam at Celestia when the dark alicorn remembered something. 'Of course! Shining and Cadanza!'
"Oh Shining, Cadanza, you can come out now."
She smirked when she saw the expression on Twilight's face. "Shiny?! Cadance!?"
She laughed when she watched her niece fall down, jaw dropped at the sight of her 'brother' and newly found cousin.
"What have you done to them?!" Celestia ran up to her sister and their horns clashed together.
"I did nothing, Tia. They chose on their own to join me." Starlight said like she did nothing.
"Like Luna totally almost joined you on free will." Celestia said back sarcastically.
"Oh Celestia, you are just saying this because you jealous."
Celestia's eyes widened and she lost her balance. Starlight pushed her down and pinned the white coated alicorn to the ground.
"You know that you will never be able to have my power."
Celestia's eyes tinted red again. "No!"
"Don't listen to her auntie!" Dash shouted.
Celestia smiled and pushed forward, flinging her sister to the ground. "I will never join you, Starlight. We will defeat you and bring Starry Night back to Equestria."
"So be it then, sister."
"Yes, so be it."
