Vincent was never really happy with his life and loved to tell people about it. Next is Jimmie Kent who is not the most intelligent person but he is the most optimistic person. He is currently working at S-Mart the local super market and seems to enjoy it. wAgainst all odds he and Vince are in a relationship prooving that opposites really do attract. One of the longest standing in our group is Carlee Byers. She was kind of a smart ass and has an even worse mood than Vince. Last I heard she was working at Bunch of Tools the local hardware store in town. There was also Josephene East the youngest in our group. As a highschool dropout she was unemployed and lived in her dads basement. But lets forget me, Eddy Hassen possibly the worst of us. I’m an alcoholic librarian who recently got fired from my job for coming into work drunk off my ass. All of us lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere called Haddonfield. But lets get to the story... I looked around the room. My four friends lounging around doing basically nothing just like they did every day. Vince and Jimmie are on the couch playing mario kart while brutally trash talking each other, Jose is playing darts against herself and managing to lose, and Carlee is on a beanbag chair staring at her phone and I... was bored as usual. I sighed. “Alright guys does anyone have an idea for something to do today?” Jose spoke up, “Why don’t we go down to the park and scare some middle schoolers again?” Frowning as she lodges another dart into the wall next to the board. “But we did that yesterday and there weren’t even many reactions.” Retorted Vince before throwing a blue shell making Jimmie scream and throw the controller out the window. “We could just sit here and do nothing.” Carlee said barely looking up from her phone seeming to not be interested at all. “No we cant just sit here!”, I shouted starting to get angry. “We could go eat, I’m starving!” Suggested Jimmie while glaring at Vince who happened to be doing a victory dance. “I’m not hungry though.” Said Jose frowning and pulling darts out of the wall. The arguement continues for an hour and by that point I reached my limit. “Fuck this I’m going for a walk!”, But the second I stood up to leave everything whent fuzzy and then I was out cold. When I finally woke up I was on hard ground and in alot of pain. “Ughh what happened?” Blinking at the light and starting to look around I noticed a strange creature in front of me. It was covered in dark gray fur had large canine ears and was huge. Needless to say I started scrambling backwards when I saw it but was stopped when my hand touched something long and scaly. 'Is that a tail?' I thought staring at the object blankly yes it was indeed a tail covered in green scales looking like the tail of a komodo dragon and it seemed to be coming from my body. Then I saw my legs, I don’t think i had ever screamed that loud before, one leg looked like it was from some sort of tiger and the other looked like a birds talon but really REALLY big. My arms were missmatched too one was slippery and red and looked like the limb of a salamander and the other was a blue lobster claw. “keep it down will ya?” Growled the creature in front of me snapping my attention towards the large wolfish creature laying in front of me, Naturally I screamed again. “goddammit what one of you is making all the... Noise..” Looking down the large creature seemed to be supries about something before screaming along with me a deep masculine scream before looking at me with fear all over its face. “Ughh my head hurts.” Moaned a creature from the back of the room. Looking behind me I noticed a strange black creature with insectoid eyes and wings and holes in its legs. The strange bug-like creature looked around and noticed us looked down and began to scream sounding like a high pitched whine. This was getting old so i decided to take control of the situation standing up I shouted to the room. “SHUT UP!” Both creatures stopped screaming but began to stare at me with fear in their eyes. I heard another two voices then both screamed in unison, “WHERE AM I... WHAT ARE YOU?” The source was what looked like a very small stubby zebra and what looked like a griffon with silver feathers. “I don’t know what’s happening but if any of you want to live through this you will explain what’s going on here!” I shouted trying not to let my fear show. Theay all looked around quickly but nobody answered. Then the insect looked away and began to cry. "Why is this happening to me? All i wanted to do was sit around and pay games with Vince today." Hearing this the zebra seemed suprised before running over to the insect with concern in his face. "Jimmie is that you?" Asked the zebra with fear in his voice. “V-vince?” Said the insect crying a bit less and looking suprised. "Everyone I'm sorry if I sacred you but everyone say your name please." Looking around I noticed the others coming to the same realisation as me. “My name is Jose.” Said the griffon sounding less tense and looking around the room. “It's me Carlee.” Stated the wolf plainly before looking at me. "Then you must be Eddy right?" “Yeah." I returned beginning to wonder about what happened. "So if we're here where is here?" Asked Jose looking at me. Everyone looked at me waiting for an answer and eventually I just sighed and said “I dunno I’ve never seen a place like this before.” We were in a large stone brick chamber with holes in the celing allowing sunlight to shine down. There were tapistries all around the room most had images of suns or crecent moons fading off of the cloth, everything looked like it hadn't been moved in years. “Lets look around!” Said Jose darting down a hallway before anyone could reply. “Wait don’t...” I tried to say but she was already gone before she could hear me. Carlee quickly spoke up. “Let’s go after her before she makes this situation any worse.” Without even thinking about it everyone answered, "Right." And we all started to run after her before the resident loose cannon could destory anything. Running with missmatched limbs was really hard to do. “Wait up!” I called trying to keep up but only being able to stumble along slowly. Carlee picked me up bridal style without warning and I yelped in suprise “Woah what are you doing Carlee?” “Helping you keep up.” She responded flatly not even looking down at me. “I found her!” Yelled Vince waving like crazy towards us from down one of the halls up ahead. “Look I found an exit!” She cheered happily when we caught up to her seemingly oblivious to the trouble she had caused. “What the hell were you thinking?” I asked loudly when Carlee put be back down. She frowned and looked down dejectedly. “I just wanted to get us out of this wierd place.” After I appoligized and she forgave me he group left the building and looked back at it. It was a run down looking castle. “Wow.” We all breathed marveling at the sight of it. but we didn’t look for long as we now had another obstacle in the form of a huge chasm with a broken bridge and no noticable way across. “Well shit.” I said under my breath and tried to think of a plan. But Vince spoke up with his own plan first. “Alright we all need to go back into the castle and look for something to get us across the chasm.” He looked at the ground for a second and spoke again. “Everyone take something to leave a trail with so we can all get back here.” At that Jose grabbed a pile of small rocks, Carlee pulled a bunch of leaves from a tree, Jimmie found some black petaled flowers near the exit, Vince took a pile of dirt and placed it on his back, and I decided to scratch a line into the wall with my lobster claw. The search however went by quickly and everyone was back with what they found within a few minuites. Jimmie found some rope, Carlee grabbed 3 banners from the throne room, Jose managed to find a pile of loose wooden planks, and Vince found a box of nails. I couldn't find anything of use and we had no plan for our new supplies but it was a start! Author's Note Thank you for reading my revised version of chapter one. A chasm. After collecting some materials they got to work getting across. ===Chapter One and a half: Where are we?=== ===POV:Jimmie=== We all just kind of sat there looking at the stuff we found for awhile. “So are we going to do something or what?” I asked nobody in particular. “Well we should probably try to make some sort of rope bridge or something.” Vince began picking up the wood and rope. “Okay let’s get started.” Replied Eddy grabbing the nails. “Did anyone find a hammer?” Nobody replied. “Why dont you use that claw of yours?” asked Carlee. “I dunno but something tells me that would probably hurt.” Vince thought aloud. Suddenly Jose spoke up. “Me and Jimmie have wings why dont we try to use those?” Why had we not thought of that before? Either way now me and Jose were now trying to fly. It was very difficult and we ended up just getting hurt trying. “Well it doesn’t seem like we’re going to get across that way so you should both help us with this.” I sighed and said. “Sure why not?” We spent quite a bit of time arguing over who would decide the way to make the rope bridge bridge untill we decided to let vince do it. Once vince got to work it only took ten more minuites before it was done. “Now all we need is to throw it across the gap onto the other sides posts.” Declared Carlee triumphantly. After staying silent for so long we heard Jose shout from the dorway of the castle. “Guys i did it!” By the time everyone looked back Jose was flying towards the group and flew straight over the gap. “Holy crap!” We yelled ducking for cover. “Jose!” Yelled Carlee. “Come back over here for a second!” She flew back over to us. “Yeah?” She questioned. “Can you fly the other end of the bridge across the gap?” Asked Vince expectantly. “Sure!” She replied quickly grabbing the end of the bridge and flying across the gap to secure it on the posts. It seemed things were looking up for us. ---{One hour of walking later}--- We had been following the trail for awhile now before we came across a hut in the forest. The small building seemed to be carved out of a good sized tree with a large masks hanging on the outside. Noticing the hut Vince said, “Wait guys lets knock on the door and ask for directions.” Everyone gawked at him. “What?” “Well I mean we should at least try right?” Vince said sheepishly. Apperantly we were going to ask without a discussion first seeing as while we were all shocked Jose decided to knock on the door. A few minuites later a zebra answered the door looking confused as she saw the group in front of her. “Well look here at what I see, a griffon has come to visit me!” Well that was certainly something new. Hearing this i asked, “Oh wow! Do you always speak in rhyme?” “Well this is certainly new a changeling come to visit too?” Responded the zebra ignoring the question and looking quite suprised. “Excuse me but who are you?” Asked Carlee looking quite confused. “Zecora is my name although I suppose that is not why you came.” She responded plainly clearly suprised by her appearance too. “Yes we wanted to ask you how we could get out of this forest.” Eddy asked quickly. “To leave the everfree you must only take the path behind my tree.” Zecora rhymed again while pointing to the path to the side of her house and hiding slightly behind the door from Eddy. “Thanks for the help!” Said Jose as we took the path we were directed to. “It was certainly interesting to meet you, but now I bid you adieu.” Said Zecora closing the door of her hut. Our group continued walking along with nothing that interesting happening along the way untill they saw some buildings. “Civilization!” I shouted as i ran ahead of everyone into the small town. It was full of colourful ponies. They started to panic when i ran in. Some of the ponies screamed and ran away when they saw me. “What?” I asked nonchalantly. Everyone else caught up and the town was in even more of a panic. Ponies were knocking over tables, chairs, potted plants you name it and it was being destroyed when suddenly a female voice said... “Whats happening here?” The voice had come from a strange purple pony with a horn and wings looking at us rather angrilly. “Identify yourselves.” The pony demanded her horn glowing slightly. I spoke up first, “I I’m...” [Shit should i tell her my real name?] I thought. “I’m Mite” I said slowly. Then Vince spoke up. “My name is Streak.” He said weakly. “What about you three?” The pony asked trying to sound menacing but failing miserably. “My name is Lucent.” Said Carlee clearly grasping at straws for the name. “My name is Fringe!” Jose shouted quietly. “And my name is Shambles” Quickly finished Eddy clearly wishing for a bottle of liquor. “What are you doing here?” Asked the pony sounding more curious than angry now. “We’re trying to get home.” Said vince who seemed to notice the pony calming down. “Where is your home?” “Maybe i can help you get back there.” Said the pony now sounding rather cheerful. “We live in Haddonfield Ontario, do you know how we can get back there?” Asked Eddy. “I don’t think I’ve heard of it before but I can try to find out where it is I guess” She replied. “Thank you.” I said sheepishly “What’s your name by the way?” “My name is Twillight Sparkle its nice to meet you all.” Author's Note Sorry about my chapters being so short but I'm not the best writer and getting my ideas down is more difficult that I expected. Screamed Shambles clutching his face and looking distraught. "Exactly as I said." Returned Twillight matter of factly. "So you're telling me that our home town does not and has never existed?" Asked Streak freaking out less then Shambles who was currently curled up in a ball crying in the corner. "That's what I said isn't it?" Twillight returned starting to get annoyed by the strange group. Off in the corner Shambles was having a meltdown. "Are you okay dude?" I ask trying to get Shambles' attention. "NEVER BEEN BETTER!!" He screams at me while hitting his head against a wall. Trying to pull him away before he gets a chance to put a hole in the wall and failing miserably I notice that Fringe is missing from the room and knowing her that is a dangerous thing. "Hey wheres Jos- I mean Fringe?" Asked Mite from the chair off to the side of the room looking very bored. "I was about to ask the same thing, maybe we should go look for her?" I say looking at Shambles expectantly. He doesn't notice and continues to bang his head against the wall which was now sporting some new cracks on its shiny surface. "Let's go find her before something bad happens." Suggests Mite now walking towards me with Streak and Twillight following closely behind. "I'm going to follow you guys around today just to make sure you aren't going to cause any trouble." Says Twillight picking up Shambles with her magic causing him you yelp in suprise. "Hey I was busy with that wall!" He shouted at her but she only ignored him and started walking towards the entrance. Off we went looking all around the small town that according to Twillight was called ponyville, they searched for what seemed like hours but couldn't find even a single feather of their friend until they saw her off in the distance talking to a pink pony who seemed to be bouncing up and down instead of walking. "FRINGE?!" Yelled everyone in unison running up to the griffon. "Oh are these your friends?" Asked the pink pony excitedly. "Hi my name is pinkie what's yours?" She asked as the group got close to her and Fringe. Everyone stared at Pinkie with confused looks on their faces except Twillight who quickly answered for the group. "Hey pinkie these guys are with me." Answered twillight. "Awesome!" Pinkie shouted proceeding to pull a cannon out of thin air and shoot it off launching a whole bunch of confetti shot out scaring everyone except Twillight half to death in the process. "Does this mean I can throw them a welcome to equestria party?" Pinkie asked Twillight expectantly. "Pinkie why would you throw them a welcome to equestria party? Where else would they have come from other than equestria?" Twillight asked with a confused look on her face. "Because they aren't from equestria silly." Pinkie replied like the answer was obvious. "They came from... actually nevermind I can't tell you that would break the story." Everyone looked at her like she had grown an extra head. "Don't look at me like that you silly creatures of course I know where you're from." I was about to say something back when Twillight nudged me side with her wing. "You shouldn't ask for more info from Pinkie if you value your sanity." She stated plainly. "Okay." Was all I could say in response begininng to join Shambles obvious wishes for a bottle of vodka. "Fringe why did you leave the castle without letting us know?" Asked Twillight. "Oh that's easy." Responds fringe quicky. "I was hungry!" Just then my stomach started to rumbe and I decided to ask Twillight. "Yeah what is there to eat around here anyway?" "Well..." She said nervously. "For a diamond dog like you we have some gems back at the castle and for everyone else we can go out to eat at the Hay Burger down the street, and as for changelings I don't even know what you eat other than love." Mite looked suprised and asked. "What do you mean by "eat love" Twillight?" "Once again I mean what I said, from my understanding changelings survive off love energy from ponies and other creatures." "No wonder I don't feel hungry." He replied glancing over at Streak standing next to him. Gagging at the insinuation I started walking back towards the castle because for some reason eating gemstones didn't sound half bad right now. "This is awesome!" Shouted Streak from around a mouthful of hay fries. Now sitting in a booth at the back of a fast food resurant everyone was eating except Mite who was just sitting there smiling at Streak, everyone in the resturant was as far away from them as possible and were casting suspicous glances over at them as they ate. "So" Said Shambles looking over to Twillight who was eating a pile of food rather messily. "Is there anything we can do about our situation?" "Well our best bet is to research into your situation at the castle library." Replied the pony while trying (and failing) not to spit food all over the place. "Okay I guess that's a start." After everyone finished eating it was getting dark out and the group of six returned to the castle, Twillight was nice enough to let them stay in the castles guest rooms untill they found a permanent place to stay. and with that the group had begun the most boring leg of their journey... After staying silent for so long we heard Jose shout from the dorway of the castle. “Guys i did it!” By the time everyone looked back Jose was flying towards the group and flew straight over the gap. “Holy crap!” We yelled ducking for cover. “Jose!” Yelled Carlee. “Come back over here for a second!” She flew back over to us. “Yeah?” She questioned. “Can you fly the other end of the bridge across the gap?” Asked Vince expectantly. “Sure!” She replied quickly grabbing the end of the bridge and flying across the gap to secure it on the posts. It seemed things were looking up for us. ---{One hour of walking later}--- We had been following the trail for awhile now before we came across a hut in the forest. The small building seemed to be carved out of a good sized tree with a large masks hanging on the outside. Noticing the hut Vince said, “Wait guys lets knock on the door and ask for directions.” Everyone gawked at him. “What?” “Well I mean we should at least try right?” Vince said sheepishly. Apperantly we were going to ask without a discussion first seeing as while we were all shocked Jose decided to knock on the door. A few minuites later a zebra answered the door looking confused as she saw the group in front of her. “Well look here at what I see, a griffon has come to visit me!” Well that was certainly something new. Hearing this i asked, “Oh wow! Do you always speak in rhyme?” “Well this is certainly new a changeling come to visit too?” Responded the zebra ignoring the question and looking quite suprised. “Excuse me but who are you?” Asked Carlee looking quite confused. “Zecora is my name although I suppose that is not why you came.” She responded plainly clearly suprised by her appearance too. “Yes we wanted to ask you how we could get out of this forest.” Eddy asked quickly. “To leave the everfree you must only take the path behind my tree.” Zecora rhymed again while pointing to the path to the side of her house and hiding slightly behind the door from Eddy. “Thanks for the help!” Said Jose as we took the path we were directed to. “It was certainly interesting to meet you, but now I bid you adieu.” Said Zecora closing the door of her hut. Our group continued walking along with nothing that interesting happening along the way untill they saw some buildings. “Civilization!” I shouted as i ran ahead of everyone into the small town. It was full of colourful ponies. They started to panic when i ran in. Some of the ponies screamed and ran away when they saw me. “What?” I asked nonchalantly. Everyone else caught up and the town was in even more of a panic. Ponies were knocking over tables, chairs, potted plants you name it and it was being destroyed when suddenly a female voice said... “Whats happening here?” The voice had come from a strange purple pony with a horn and wings looking at us rather angrilly. “Identify yourselves.” The pony demanded her horn glowing slightly. I spoke up first, “I I’m...” [Shit should i tell her my real name?] I thought. “I’m Mite” I said slowly. Then Vince spoke up. “My name is Streak.” He said weakly. “What about you three?” The pony asked trying to sound menacing but failing miserably. “My name is Lucent.” Said Carlee clearly grasping at straws for the name. “My name is Fringe!” Jose shouted quietly. “And my name is Shambles” Quickly finished Eddy clearly wishing for a bottle of liquor. “What are you doing here?” Asked the pony sounding more curious than angry now. “We’re trying to get home.” Said vince who seemed to notice the pony calming down. “Where is your home?” “Maybe i can help you get back there.” Said the pony now sounding rather cheerful. “We live in Haddonfield Ontario, do you know how we can get back there?” Asked Eddy. “I don’t think I’ve heard of it before but I can try to find out where it is I guess” She replied. “Thank you.” I said sheepishly “What’s your name by the way?” “My name is Twillight Sparkle its nice to meet you all.” Author's Note Sorry about my chapters being so short but I'm not the best writer and getting my ideas down is more difficult that I expected. Chapter 2:What is the plan?Author's Note So just to be clear i'm going to be using the names the main characters came up with to avoid confusion. Also this another rather short chapter but i will do my best to make them longer in the future. Screamed Shambles clutching his face and looking distraught. "Exactly as I said." Returned Twillight matter of factly. "So you're telling me that our home town does not and has never existed?" Asked Streak freaking out less then Shambles who was currently curled up in a ball crying in the corner. "That's what I said isn't it?" Twillight returned starting to get annoyed by the strange group. Off in the corner Shambles was having a meltdown. "Are you okay dude?" I ask trying to get Shambles' attention. "NEVER BEEN BETTER!!" He screams at me while hitting his head against a wall. Trying to pull him away before he gets a chance to put a hole in the wall and failing miserably I notice that Fringe is missing from the room and knowing her that is a dangerous thing. "Hey wheres Jos- I mean Fringe?" Asked Mite from the chair off to the side of the room looking very bored. "I was about to ask the same thing, maybe we should go look for her?" I say looking at Shambles expectantly. He doesn't notice and continues to bang his head against the wall which was now sporting some new cracks on its shiny surface. "Let's go find her before something bad happens." Suggests Mite now walking towards me with Streak and Twillight following closely behind. "I'm going to follow you guys around today just to make sure you aren't going to cause any trouble." Says Twillight picking up Shambles with her magic causing him you yelp in suprise. "Hey I was busy with that wall!" He shouted at her but she only ignored him and started walking towards the entrance. Off we went looking all around the small town that according to Twillight was called ponyville, they searched for what seemed like hours but couldn't find even a single feather of their friend until they saw her off in the distance talking to a pink pony who seemed to be bouncing up and down instead of walking. "FRINGE?!" Yelled everyone in unison running up to the griffon. "Oh are these your friends?" Asked the pink pony excitedly. "Hi my name is pinkie what's yours?" She asked as the group got close to her and Fringe. Everyone stared at Pinkie with confused looks on their faces except Twillight who quickly answered for the group. "Hey pinkie these guys are with me." Answered twillight. "Awesome!" Pinkie shouted proceeding to pull a cannon out of thin air and shoot it off launching a whole bunch of confetti shot out scaring everyone except Twillight half to death in the process. "Does this mean I can throw them a welcome to equestria party?" Pinkie asked Twillight expectantly. "Pinkie why would you throw them a welcome to equestria party? Where else would they have come from other than equestria?" Twillight asked with a confused look on her face. "Because they aren't from equestria silly." Pinkie replied like the answer was obvious. "They came from... actually nevermind I can't tell you that would break the story." Everyone looked at her like she had grown an extra head. "Don't look at me like that you silly creatures of course I know where you're from." I was about to say something back when Twillight nudged me side with her wing. "You shouldn't ask for more info from Pinkie if you value your sanity." She stated plainly. "Okay." Was all I could say in response begininng to join Shambles obvious wishes for a bottle of vodka. "Fringe why did you leave the castle without letting us know?" Asked Twillight. "Oh that's easy." Responds fringe quicky. "I was hungry!" Just then my stomach started to rumbe and I decided to ask Twillight. "Yeah what is there to eat around here anyway?" "Well..." She said nervously. "For a diamond dog like you we have some gems back at the castle and for everyone else we can go out to eat at the Hay Burger down the street, and as for changelings I don't even know what you eat other than love." Mite looked suprised and asked. "What do you mean by "eat love" Twillight?" "Once again I mean what I said, from my understanding changelings survive off love energy from ponies and other creatures." "No wonder I don't feel hungry." He replied glancing over at Streak standing next to him. Gagging at the insinuation I started walking back towards the castle because for some reason eating gemstones didn't sound half bad right now. "This is awesome!" Shouted Streak from around a mouthful of hay fries. Now sitting in a booth at the back of a fast food resurant everyone was eating except Mite who was just sitting there smiling at Streak, everyone in the resturant was as far away from them as possible and were casting suspicous glances over at them as they ate. "So" Said Shambles looking over to Twillight who was eating a pile of food rather messily. "Is there anything we can do about our situation?" "Well our best bet is to research into your situation at the castle library." Replied the pony while trying (and failing) not to spit food all over the place. "Okay I guess that's a start." Replied strak from behind another mouthful of hay fries. After everyone finished eating it was getting dark out and the group of six returned to the castle, Twillight was nice enough to let them stay in the castles guest rooms untill they found a permanent place to stay. and with that the group had begun the most boring leg of their journey... RESEARCH.
