Twilight was in her room thinking about her Pinkie Pie who was in the other room as she had adopting a child on her that she didn't have the strength to tell her wife about what it was even if they have been married for several years and they had a good relationship.
Twilight just couldn't bring herself to talk about it to her wife as she feared that Pinkie Pie would never understand so that's what stopped her from talking about what she needed, she couldn't even say it to herself because she was afraid so she buried her feelings deep inside her so that she wouldn't be seen as stupid.
Twilight just couldn't think about it but needed to as she wanted to adopt a child but knew that Pinkie Pie would reject her idea and see it as ridiculous.
Twilight decided to try and take her mind off of it by going into the fridge to try and find something that could make her get drunk, she looked all around the area but there was no alcohol left from her party a few weeks ago, she closed the door and sighed in frustration.
That was when she saw Pinkie Pie, the love of her life behind her, she sighed as Pinkie Pie looked at her with a quizzical look, she looked at the fridge and then back to Twilight who was standing still trying to be innocent.
"What are you doing?" Pinkie Pie asked, Twilight shrugged as she looked at the fridge and then walked away, Pinkie Pie shrugged and then went to sit on the couch, Twilight knew she had to bring it up to Pinkie Pie as that would be the only way she could stop thinking about it.
She stepped into the living room and stared at her lover who was joyfully eating a cupcake, Twilight frowned as she realized that she needed to settle the issue that she was thinking about so she spoke up.
"Pinkie Pie can I talk to you....please?" Twilight asked, Pinkie Pie set down her cupcake and motioned her to come towards her, Twilight walked up to her.
"Of coarse you can, come sit down by me and we can talk about what's on your mind." Pinkie Pie said, Twilight sat down by her wife and Pinkie Pie looked at her, Twilight bit her lip as she didn't know how to bring this subject up.
"I don't know how to tell you this Pinkie Pie...." Twilight said, Pinkie Pie responded to her in a gentle way.
"It's alright, you should feel comfortable in telling me anyway, whatever you tell me I won't make fun of you for it, I can promise you that, so just come on out and say it. Pinkie Pie said, Twilight felt so grateful that Pinkie Pie wasn't going to do that.
"I....want to adopt Scootaloo...she's been alone for so long and her the she's told me all about how bad the system is but I know that you probably won't commit to having a child." Twilight said, Pinkie Pie put her finger to Twilight's lips and spoke.
"It's okay Twilight I want to adopt as well, I do want to commit to taking care of a child, I've always wanted that and if you want that to then we need to make a serious effort to take care and protect Scootaloo, also if we do decide to get a child they don't just let anybody walk into an orphan home and get whatever child they want, it's not that easy, and it won't be easy since they know about your...past crimes..." Pinkie Pie said.
Twilight started to fear that getting a child might be harder than she thought. She didn't want to think of the possibility of it being tough but decided to hear about it anyway.
"What do you mean?" Twilight said, Pinkie Pie started to think about what the process entailed and then she spoke.
"Well first of all you would need to meet the child first and then their is a bunch load of paperwork to take care of and then you get the child, there's a lot of issues that come with the process and if they don't seem you to be fit parents then they reject your request." Pinkie Pie said.
Twilight was shocked that it was that hard to adopt a child as she was now guessing that she shouldn't go through the adoption process and just shrugged.
"Fine we won't adopt then since it sounds almost impossible." Twilight said as her mood turned sad, Pinkie Pie was shocked that Twilight would give up that easily and shook her head.
"I didn't say you should just give up I'm just warning you about what you will experience in the adoption process, it's not as hard as you think." Pinkie Pie said, Twilight sighed and spoke.
Well if you want to adopt as well then we should try it I guess...."Twilight said in an unsure voice, Pinkie Pie nodded as Twilight was correct.
"Of coarse, the only possible harm is that we will be rejected, but we are good people so I don't think that's what would happen." Pinkie Pie said with confidence as she was sure about herself that they would be able to adopt. They soon went to the adoption agency.
When they got there Twilight had doubts that they would allow them to adopt, she wanted to ask somebody in there what it would cost and how long the review process was before the adoption could be finalized. They entered the place and went to the office.
When they got there they were signaled in, the director hung up the phone and looked at them.
"What can I do for you?" She asked Twilight, Twilight looked at Pinkie Pie who gave her an unsure glance and then spoke.
"We want to adopt." Twilight said, the director raised an eyebrow, Twilight frowned as she wanted to know she was staring at her like that.
"Why do you want to adopt?" The director asked, Twilight sighed as she looked at Pinkie Pie and spoke.
"Well obviously I'm standing with my wife here and if you weren't aware two people of the same gender can't make babies obviously unless you were unaware we were both women." Twilight remarked in a smart ass way the director nodded for a bit and spoke.
"Well then....you are very....sincere...." She said. Twilight nodded and waited, the director frowned.
"Well let's look at your file then and see your records....lets just see if you qualify to go through the adoption process because I'm guessing that when you do go through the process you will find yourself not being able to adopt a child so let's see..." The director commented. Twilight became extremely angry and nervous as she knew what her records hold. Pinkie Pie couldn't watch.
"Well if we look at your records that have been collected over the years it says that you have been in known online data theft, you were involved in a case of hacking the national database of Equestria where you were extradited and sentenced to eleven years until you were freed after a few years before your sentence ended, you have also attacked users computers, you created several computer viruses and disrupted programs across are nation and that's about it, so tell me Twilight do you think your qualified?" She asked Twilight. Twilight smirked
"I am. I'm very good with kids." Twilight said, the director nodded as she had her point proven.
"But you have a criminal record which means you can't adopt." She told her. Twilight got visibly angry as she knew that the director was leaving good details out.
"That's bullshit! I babysat for Rarity's sister, I've taken care of Flurry Heart! That's not fair! I served my prison sentence for hacking to almost full term and they let me out! I have the rights to adopt as any other couple! Please just let me adopt!" Twilight begged.
"Alright....ill put your request to adopt into the court system where you will be called for a final review and if your clear this request then you can adopt but I won't be surprised if they reject it." She said. Twilight nodded and stormed out of the office to go to Celestia for help, when she got there she spoke to her.
"Celestia I'm trying to adopt Scootaloo....but I won't know if she would like me to be her mother...even worse the person there size that I can't since I've been involved in hacking." Twilight said, immediately Celestia looked at her in shock.
"Who the hell told you that!?" Celestia exclaimed.
"The director...." Twilight said. Celestia shook her head and spoke.
"The only reason why you wouldn't be allowed to adopt would be because of child abuse other than that you have every right to adopt this child, I'm going over there right now Twilight to fix this for you....don't worry Twilight I'm with you on this." Celestia said, Twilight smiled and Celestia then went over to where Twilight was at and had a long argument with the director, finally the director allowed Twilight to meet the child.
They put the adoption process through as Scootaloo's parents abandoned her years ago so the parents wouldn't care either way.
Twilight waited for the process to go through and finally the day came when Scootaloo met Twilight, Twilight almost got tears in her eyes when she saw Scootaloo.
"Hey Twilight, is it true, your really adopting me? When I heard that from the orphanage to day I almost passed out from excitement...you don't need to worry about me not liking you as I do like you, you and me are technically friends." Scootaloo said. Twilight felt relieved.
"You mean it? You do know that I'm a....criminal...do you mind?" Twilight asked, Scootaloo giggled and waved off Twilight's worries.
"Duh, are you kidding, do you know how infamous you really are? Of course I don't mind! You are a lot better than my original abusive dad, you've never abused anybody like how he did, except for you abusing computers with sql injections, but you are never bad with children! You treat them with kindness, I've seen how you take care of Flurry Heart Twilight I know, I love you a lot and I like Pinkie Pie a lot as well, we hang out together sometimes so plus my idol is your best friend so that just makes me want you to be my mother even more." Scootaloo said with a shy but humorous attitude.
Twilight had tears in her eyes, she hugged Scootaloo tightly as she was so happy, she hoped that the adoption process succeeded and Scootaloo hoped so to, soon the adoption process went through the final stages as Twilight and Scootaloo hung out daily with permission and finally the the process ended in a ruling that allowed Twilight to adopt Scootaloo, Twilight took Scootaloo home and they had a party for Scootaloo for the occasion.
The ruling was very controversial as people debated about the court letting Twilight adopt even though she was a criminal, most people took Twilight's side as they state the fact that even though Twilight had a criminal record she could still adopt, the only reason that she wouldn't be able to adopt was if she was abusive to children which she clearly wasn't, the debate went on for along time but Twilight didn't care.
Twilight and Pinkie were tucking Scootaloo in for the night, Pinkie Pie was of coarse thrilled when they adopted her, she let Scootaloo talk to Twilight.
"Mom?" Scootaloo asked, Twilight looked at her newly adopted daughter with a loving expression, Scootaloo smiled as tears ran down her cheeks.
"Yeah kiddo?" Twilight asked.
"Thank you Twilight, I'm so happy, this is the best dream come true!" Scootaloo exclaimed, Twilight smiled and kissed her on the cheek.
"Your welcome, Scootaloo I love you." Twilight told her, Scootaloo closed her eyes.
"I love you to!" She told her. Twilight gave her one more hug and turned out the light, she looked back at her daughter with a smile as she looked forward to her new life with her daughter, she closed the door and got into bed with Pinkie Pie.
"She's going to love it here!" Pinkie Pie said with a smile, Twilight giggled as she looked at the two people who meant the most to her and spoke.
"She is Pinkie Pie, I love you." Twilight said.
"I love you to Twilight." Pinkie Pie said, and with that all three of them drifted off into a peaceful sleep as their first day of their new family began.
