“Could today be any better?” I wondered aloud.

“Well we could always be in our daughter’s shoes…” My wife Trixie pointed out.

I just rolled my eyes. “Please, it’s not like she’d be off having a good time right now. You don’t go make General and then get to put your feet up.”

By the time we reached some small nameless cafe overlooking the docks, Sky and Cloud had both finally managed to arrive. “We’re not too late, are we?” Cloud asked.

I shook my head as I sat down. “Nah, and even if you were who cares?” The waiter was already on point, considering how often the four of us stopped at this little hole in the wall, and had our usual round of drinks ready. “You sure you don’t want me to pay you this time?”

The waiter, some mare named Quartz, shook her head. “Nah, we make enough money off the rest of your guys Cosmo.

I nodded and quickly took a swig from my beer. “So how’s Sandstorm been?”

Sky and Cloud both exchanged looks before Sky sighed in defeat. “He’s been off the wall since he found out his ‘uncle’ is the crown prince. You know what he did yesterday? He went to the library to try and dig up everything he could on Light Industries so he could learn more about Dusk.”

“Well he’s never had any shortage of contact with Dusk… What’s with the sudden interest?” Trixie asked.

Sky just shrugged. “How much does he really know about Dusk? He knows that he was an industrialist, but all the sudden he gets named crown prince? Might as well have blown his mind.”

“At least it’s better than what he did this morning…” Cloud muttered.

I cocked an eyebrow. “What did he do?”

“So he calls up the Light offices and gets Halsey, right? Once he realized it was Halsey he just started peppering her with all sorts of questions about Dusk. I ended up picking up to see what was going on, and thank Celestia that Halsey is good with kids. I almost got dizzy just listening to Sandstorm.”

BRING BRING!

I rolled my eyes.”I better get that.” I said as I fished out my phone. “This is Cosmo.”

“Cosmo, it’s Faust.”

“Yeah… Wait, didn’t Archer say you took over one of her cargo bays? She was complaining about that last night.” Out of the corner of my eye I could see Sky and Cloud both perk up, as did Trixie if the sudden shift off to my side was any indicator.

“Yes, I guess she would complain about that. Look, I’m going to get straight to it. I need your team’s help.”

“Ok… I can get some of my guys together-”

“No Cosmo, I need YOUR team. Sky, Cloud and yourself. Felix is already here.”

I stopped for a moment and glanced at Sky and Cloud. “Last I checked my ‘team’ is semi-retired.”

“Well tell them to get over it, and yes I know you’re sitting right across from them Cosmo.”

“Well you tell whoever the hell that is that we still don’t know what she wants!” Cloud suddenly yelled. Obviously the phone was loud enough that he and Sky could hear what Faust was saying.

“Alright… What do you want?” I finally asked. “It’s a little bit unusual to get a call like this from god knows where.”

“Simple, I need your luck. Your team has done the impossible before, and I need the impossible now.”

“What’s so impossible that you need me?”

“Well Cosmo… I need your help to kill a god.”
