Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Apple Bloom, had heard everything about how their parents, Bright Mac and Pear Butter, fell in love. To them, it was the most romantic story they ever heard.
Applejack couldn't believe that they were half Pear and half Apple. Sometimes she wondered if she had some stubborn behavior from Grand Pear.
Mom and Dad were the most happiest of ponies.
Something had always bothered Apple Bloom. She wondered if anything happened to them.
She thought to ask Granny, after all, Granny has been around the farm since before she was born.
Thoughts begin to take shape in her mind. She wondered if Granny would cry. Or she would get angry.
She took a deep breath for courage. She quietly walked up to Granny in her rocking chair.
"Come here Sugar Cube", Granny smiled. "Y'all are probably wondering what happened after the wedding a'nit ya."
"Eeeyup" Big Mac said before Apple Bloom could finish. He came in from the kitchen, Applejack following close behind.
"We all do", Applejack said with a hopeful expression.
Granny slowly rocked back and forth in her rocking chair as she said, "Well After Grand Pear left Ponyville to Vanhoover, your ma and pa were having nothing but pure love."
Bright Mac and Pear Butter (or Buttercup) were sitting in the kitchen staring at each other. They had been doing that since the first time they met.
But Pear Butter had some sort of special glow around her, showing more brightly then ever before.
Bright Mac said, "Buttercup you look more wonderful than ever."
Pear Butter leaned forward to her husband's ear. "I'm pregnant."
Bright Mac's eyes were widened with wonder.
"Yes, we'll have a family", she said with a loving smile.
Bright Mac bucked his hooves with joy as he said, "Yeehaw, I'm going to a pa."
Pear Butter rubbed her belly.
Bright Mac couldn't wait to tell his mother the news. But he felt that maybe she wouldn't like it knowing her grand foal has Pear blood flowing through its veins.
He went to his mother and explained everything about the baby. Try as he might he couldn't hold it back.
Granny just stared and smiled softly. "Son, y'all now have something to share your love with your Buttercup."
He smiled back at her.
Pear Butter came in and smiled at her husband. He smiled back at his beloved wife. They embraced.
"I promise I'll do all that I can to provide for you and our little one", Bright Mac said.
"I know our foal will grow up very healthy and strong with you", Pear Butter said.
Granny left a moment ago, allowing the young lovers to stay in peace. They didn't notice.
Bright Mac and Pear Butter gave each other a passionate kiss.
They wondered if their foal would be a colt or a filly. They thought about names. They also wondered what his/her special talent would be when he/she would gets his/her cutie mark.
They were filled with these questions and more.
Several months later, Bright Mac was outside of the fields bucking apples. He had many apples into his buckets.
"Bright Mac", called Pear Butter. "It's time."
He rushed over to the house where his beloved Buttercup was breathing steady breaths.
He stayed with her the entire time through labor. They always stared at each other with love through the contractions and breathing and pushes.
At last their baby was born. A red colt. Which Pear Butter named Big Macintosh.
They knew their son will someday help out in the fields. When Big Mac was three years old, Applejack came along.
One day Big Mac got his cutie mark when he was eight.
Shortly after Applejack got hers when she was five, Apple Bloom was welcomed to the family.
Bright Mac and Pear Butter had let their foals grow with happiness and love.
They had many wonderful family reunions together, vacations together, and meals together.
Bright Mac and Pear Butter were, are, and always will be the true love they shared.
The love they had since they were little was wonderful.
Apple Bloom was very little when her parents left for business Bright Mac gave Big Mac a plowing collar and gave Applejack his hat. They left knowing their little ones will be fine under Granny's care.
One day, they disappeared. Applejack promised Apple Bloom that she'll never leave her side.
That night two shooting stars streaked across the sky. Applejack smiled.
Little did she know that they were actually meteorites. Bright Mac and Pear Butter still travel through all Equestria hoping to see their family again.
Applejack got up early in the morning like she always did. She made pancakes and had the pear jam that Apple Bloom got from Grand Pear.
She wondered about her mother and father. The story she heard about her mother and father disappearing made her cry quietly.
But then she sobbed louder.
Apple Bloom noticed. She gave her sister the biggest hug she had given.
"I miss them Apple Bloom."
"I do too Applejack."
Granny hugged her two granddaughters with Big Mac hugging all of them.
"Apple Bloom they would be so proud of for finally getting your cutie mark."
"I know Granny."
"Eeyup."
They sat in silence for a long time. The three siblings can feel their parents hugging them. To let them know that everything will be alright.
Bright Mac smiling warmly and Pear Butter stroking her daughters manes.
"It's alright my children."
"Your father and I love all of you dearly."
Bright Mac looked down at Apple Bloom's flank. "We are so proud of you Apple Bloom."
"Oh Mom and Dad, it's like you're really here with me, Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and Granny."
"We are my darling, your mother and I are here."
Applejack looked up. It wasn't a dream. They they were. Bright Mac and Buttercup in the flesh.
"Mom. Dad."
They all embraced with tears of joy.
"But how?"
"Our love and your thoughts and prayers have lead us home."
"Pear Butter?"
"Dad?"
Grand Pear's eyes were streaming tears when he saw his daughter. They embraced.
That night Bright Mac and Pear Butter went to the half apple and half pear tree. A symbol of their love. They stare at each other with love.
As the years went by Granny Smith and Grand Pear passed away.
Big Macintosh and Applejack got married to the loves of their lives and had foals of their own.
Apple Bloom was growing up.
Bright Mac and Pear Butter grew old.
One day they passed away together. They were buried by the half apple and half pear tree.
Applejack's foals grew and so did Big Mac's. They were too old to work around the farm. One day they died.
Apple Bloom got married and had foals to take care of. Apple Bloom helped her foals earn their cutie marks.
Apple Bloom grew old and her foals were carrying on the family tradition along with their cousins working at Sweet Apple Acres.
Apple Bloom died in her sleep just like her whole family did. She saw a bright light. And there they were.
Bright Mac, Pear Butter, Big Macintosh, Applejack, Granny Smith and Grand Pear. All smiling at her. The Apple family was reunited forever.
