Pinkie Pie was trotting around the town, enjoying the gentle breeze of another fall day. Above, leaves playfully danced to the ground, littering Ponyville with a heap of leaves in all colors and shapes. She ran and played in the piles of leaves that had now made their home in the grassy fields of the town. Fall was Pinkie’s favorite time of the year, she loved laughing and rolling in the mountains of crunchy tree remnants, though admittedly, it was a nuisance for Mr. Greenhooves.
This day, as Pinkie Playfully skipped back to Sugarcube Corner, she heard music coming from what appeared to be a new building and it caught her attention. Trotting carefully over, she observed it seemed to be a new club called “Dancin’ Hooves”. The club seemed fun, and if there was one thing Pinkie loved, it was fun. The loud music and strobelights emanating from the building seemed to call her name, and she was ready to take the invitation. In her normal, playful way, Pinkie strolled up to the front of the club, where a big, burly pony was standing in front of a rope.
“Hiya! I’m Pinkie Pie!” She smiled up at the much bigger pony, as he scowled down upon her.
“Beat it, kid.” The tone in the pony’s voice was harsh and unforgiving. He seemed unable to reason with Pinkie, but if there was a second thing Pinkie loved, it was ignoring the feelings of ponies or donkeys who didn’t want her around.
“I’d like to come in! It looks super duper fun and I like fun! Are there cupcakes in there? I bet there’s all sorts of delicious cake! I love cake! And fun!” However, the pony guarding the rope was unmoved by Pinkie’s spontaneous rambles about fun, and he repeatedly turned her away, until eventually, he picked her up and carried her to Sugarcube Corner himself.
“Don’t let me catch you around there again kid, or you’ll be in big trouble, and I mean it.” The pony stuck his finger into Pinkies chest with each word he spoke, adding emphasis upon it. Pinkie turned around and started slowly trotting into Sugarcube Corner.
“Well gosh, he sure was rude.” She spoke her thoughts aloud, as she continued to trot upstairs and into her room. She climbed into bed, yet got no sleep. In the distance, she could hear the sound of the music from “Dancin’ Hooves” Sleep was impossible for Pinkie with the sound of fun so close nearby, yet seemingly impossible to reach.
She extended a single hoof towards the sound of the music and stated, “I will get into ‘Dancin’ Hooves’. It’s too fun for me to miss out on.”
With her promise fresh in mind, Pinkie closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, ready to face the challenges and struggles of gaining access to the most fun place in Ponyville.
