Summer 946 CE:
Dear journal. I am officially taking over the running of the farm from my mother today. She says her heart isn't in it anymore since Pa passed away. She says she has been doing it because she had to but now that me and Goldie are about fully sprouted she says we can deal with it. I thought Goldie might have some sorta mighty braid up her flank about Ma saying it was go'in to me and not her on account of Goldie seem'in to be more concern about them felines of hers and hoarden every blamen thing she sets hoof on. But Golds seems actually mighty relieved and has been say'in she wants to just help out. I'm a going to need her help. I gots big plans for this here farm. I am going to be the number one top fruit supplier this side of Equestrian.
Fall 950 CE:
Dear journal. I think I gods a bad case of the twitters. His name is Apple Core and he is the most handsome stallion you ever did lay eyes on. Goldie laughs at me every time he comes by and I start stuttering like some gibbering mule. He has a been asking if he could take up a full time job on the farm. All I can think of when he starts a talkin is I could think of a few other things he could be a taken a full time job doing that cares for some other Apple if you get my meanin.
Summer 951 CE.
Dear journal. Dang nabbit I am no better than some little hussy. Apple Core dang popped my cherry and I should feel ashamed but I still am feeling just as full of the sweats every time I look on him. Goldie knows I think and she just raises an eyebrow is all every time I mention him. Wish she would just come out and call me out on acting like a floosey gettin all physical with a stallion I ain't rightfully married to.
Fall 951 CE:
Dear journal. I am officially a proper married mare. Apple Core asked me to be his wife! I think I surprised after he asked by dragging him to the town hall to get it done quickly all official like. I am very happy and love him very much. But I have to admit my whirlwind of a short engagement comes from the fact I think I am with foal even if I ain't showing nothin yet. I gods the cravings and the mornin sickness and been putting on the extra pounds. I ain't have'n no question about me having no child out of wedlock.
Winter 951 CE:
Dear journal. Ma just vanished last night. Whole town has been out searching and tryin to find her. She ain't been right in the head since Pa died everyone a tellin me and I know she has been getting worse. Pains me to speak so disrespectful of my Ma but she is like some fool loon. I hope we find her safe and sound.
Day after Hearth's Warming 951 CE:
They found Ma's body down by the river. I should write about how I'm a feeling and all that but I can't. I just thought I should write it down. Goldie is nothin but tears and their ain't no consolin her. I think I just want to be left alone.
New Year's Day 952 CE:
Dear journal. Goldie came to me today and a said she wants to build a cottage off a ways from the farm. She ain't taken Ma's passin any better than me and I think it her way of tryin to get away from the hurt. She be a sayin that she will still be comin to the farm every day to help with the buckin the trees even though it be a mighty walk to where she wants to live. I can't fault her none and am happy she still wants to help me and Apple Core on the farm. I ain't much good myself lately between me now really showin I have an Apple in my belly and feelin all gray about Ma.
Late Spring 952 CE:
Dear journal. I think today is the happiest day of my life. I just gave birth to the prettiest little youngin you ever did lay your eyes on. I am a namin her Sweet Apple and decided to name the farm after her as she will be the one runnin the place some day. Sweet Apple of Sweet Apple Acres.
Summer 953 CE:
Dear journal. I am not one for wishin ill will on anypony but that dang Grand Pear is a pushin me to wish the Mare on the Moon's mischief on him. Insulting my Apples in front of my customers and tryin to steal them away from me with his cockamamie pears. He calls his pears "nature's candy" well you can't be livin off of no candy. The big hooligan is just jealous he can't be growing real fruit instead of his puny pears.
Summer 954 CE:
Dear journal. Even that rotten pear farmer can't get under my fur to much today. Yeah he did make me mad a bit this evenin but I walked it off. I am carryin another buddle of love and going to be a ma a second time. I am gettin so sappy that I even started reading bedtime stories to the trees at least until pear brain decided he was goin to try to outdo me by puttin blankets on his darn trees. What kind of dim witted pear brain puts blankets on their trees and in the middle of summer when it ain't even cold. No family of mine is gona associate with some pea brained pear if I has a anything to say about it.
Spring 955 CE:
Dear journal. I am a ma twice over now. Little colt is such a bright yellow with the reddist hair you ever did see. Apple Core said we should name him Bright Mac on account of him being as bright as a summers day. Little Sweet Apple didn't seem to know what to make of her little brother though. She just a starred for the longest time and I had to stop her from a poken him checken him out. I hope the little tyke don't feel no smidgen of jealousy over her little brother. She is goen to need him to help her with the farm when she be gettin older. Apple Core looks like the happiest dang stallion talkin about how he has a son who will be the best dang plower in all Equestrian.
Summer 955 CE:
Dear journal. Apparently them dang Pears are multiplying now. Heard Pear Hearts done given birth to a daughter. Gone named her Pear Butter. I decided to be civil and send them over a bushel of our best apples as a congratulations to um. The blasted prickly pear sucker had the nerve to throw them back at me sayin he won't be given any of his family "sour fruit." I about called Apple Core, Goldie and every farm hoof I could wrangle up to tear down his sickly little pear trees. No dealin with a Pear. Try to be all civil like and they insult you to your face. Done tryin to be civil after today.
Fall 963 CE:
Dear journal. I don't rightly know how to get through to Sweet Apple. She don't seem to have the least bit of interest in farmin and always going on about dresses, and jewellery, and the like. I am tryin to get her to take a hoof around the farm as it should be goen to her one day but she just looks at her chores as the worst torture in the world and after being done with them takes off into town to goggle at fancy mares in fancy dresses in fancy papers. I try to be nice and let her have her hobbies but this is Ponyville and if you want to make it here you got to be a good earth pony farmer not some pony trying to act like those hoity toity unicorns in Canterlot.
Summer 968 CE:
Dear journal. Sweet Apple has me in a bind. It is clear that she ain't no farmin type of pony and being her age now with no cuttie mark to show just says I am a likely holding her back. I am haven to sit and think hard on what to do. She likes all that fancy city folk stuff like they have in Canterlot but I ain't going to have her go off to some place where some snobby unicorn brat will look down his muzzel at her for being an earth pony. We do shipments of apples that go into Manehatten which is more of an earth pony type city and I know some shop keepers there who buy our apples. Maybe I could let her go stay with one of them where she can figure herself out. I don't want to have her go but I gots to think about her future and what's best for her and it be getting pretty clear she ain't goen to find that around here with me harpin on her to do things she has no interest or talent at. It makes me feel something terrible to think that she hasn't yet gotten a cuttie mark because of me. Makes me feel like a real failure as a ma. I got ta start doin better by her and stop tryin to make her somethin she ain't.
Fall 968 CE:
Dear journal. I don't think my heart broke like this on the day my ma died. Perhaps it is me not rememberin things right about that but this feels like the worst day of my life. Today I sent my precious little Sweet Apple off to live with Sturdy Orange in Manehatten. Sturdy is a good sort and he has a colt about Sweet Apple's age who can help show her the city and maybe help her find what's right by her for her place in life. Still breaks my heart to haft to watch her go.
Summer 970 CE:
Dear journal. I got floored by three bits of news today. First and most important my little...no m y grown mare Sweet Apple has gone and done eloped! Gone and married the Orange colt...I mean stallion. Figure I need to accustom myself to calling her Sweet Orange now especially on account she got her cuttie mark and the thang is an orange clear as day, that bein the number two thing that done gone and floored me. I plan to visit her and her new husband soon as the fall harvest is done. I don't rightly understand her and her fancy city wants but I am happy she done found her place in the world.
The third thing that done floored me is Bright Mac is fixin some water silo for that prickly pear. I about told him that he should just go leave the thing broke as there is no doing right by helping a Pear but he gone done and said he was the cause of it being destroyed and he done got an obligation to fix what he done wrong. I don't rightly know if I should be proud of him for bucking up and trying to fix what he done or mad at him for doing something to help a Pear. I just keep my muzzel shut and then no one can think me a fool.
Fall 972 CE:
Dear journal. My fool brain boy was in the orchards havin a picnic with that dang Pear filly. I constantly haft to smack him for makin eyes with that little speck of a worthless Pear but this is the first time I caught him associating with her. I am pretty sure those two have been sending birds back in forth between one another but can't prove nothin yet. I will not have my son fraternizing with no stinkin Pear!
Summer 973 CE:
I don't know where to done start journal. It definitely been a whirlwind of a day. Bright Mac gone and eloped with Buttercup. Me and Grand Pear both caught them in the act of doing it. I am just shocked and still puttin it together in my head. I am actually proud of Mac though. The boy done stood his ground for his wife and was there for her. Done told me and Grand Pear off and though I was mad at first I have to admire him.
And I don't have the words to say to Buttercup right now. And she is Buttercup to me as I won't tar her by callin her Pear Butter what her monster of a father did. That fool scoundrel of a Pear decided that if she wanted to marry my boy she wasn't good enough for him and he gone and turned his back on her and left Ponyville forever! That rotten fruit can go rot in Tartarus for all I care in fact I hope he comes down with a plague! Buttercup is a good strong mare and I was a fool for ever callin her anything but. She is the best kind of mare and I guess it shows that it is possible that you can get at least one good piece of fruit from a sick tree.
Apple Core and Bright Mac tried suggesting goin and tryin to reason with that rotten pear but me and Buttercup just weren't going to have it. I did say my peace to my new daughter in law and told her I was mighty sorry for ever speaken ill of her and tryin to ruin what should been the happiest day of her life. That kind mare gave me the biggest hug I ever done get and told me that she forgives me and it is all in the past and I am family. She might be a better pony than I'll ever be.
Fall 973 CE:
Dear journal. I had wrote to Sweet Orange tellin her about how her brother gone and eloped. Guessin rushed elopin just runs in the family. I was surprised to find that instead of writin me back she just rushed her way back to Ponyville fast as her hooves could take her. It's been years since I done seen her and hard to recognize the made that showed up at my door. There ain't no clue about her that she was born on a farm. She is all sophisticated like now. I worried a bit at first that she might be looking down at her farmin family because she seemed to have a bit of that high nosed air about her but it seems not the case. She was eager to meet Buttercup and to catch up with her brother and her pa. The silly thing even tried to go out and help us buck apples and that went about as well as it ever did but I am grateful for her at least offerin and tryin now even if the result was just a big reminder she shouldn't be no where near tryin to buck trees.
She did give a whopper of some news. She is carrying her first foal or should I say foals as doctors told her twins. Looks like I will be a granny soon even if my grandchildren are a bunch of Oranges. Hearing Buttercup and Bright Mac at night I am guessing it might not be too long before the granny of Apples. Wish they were quieter though or if I am old enough to be a granny I could have my hearing start to go. Some things it just don't feel right hearing your children do. Apple Core thinks it is funny watching me try to cover my head with a pillow and suggests sometimes we just outdo them. Judging by Bright Mac's face looking at us the next mornins I still got it pretty good in me. Haha
Day after Hearths Warming 973:
Dear Journal. Was a bit of an emotional holiday. Sweet Orange extended her visit through the holiday to keep close to family and Goldie set up with us as well for the holiday. It was a bit crowded but it was like old times having me, Apple Core, Goldie, Sweet Orange, Bright Mac, and now we have Buttercup with us now. Great big family all together for the holiday.
Buttercup had written her pa hoping he might see some reason and come back to make his peace with her but the dang fool didn't even bother to reply to her. She done had herself a good cry again. I tried to console her and sayin that her pa might come round at some point and she just dried her eyes and said that she weren't going to give her pa any more mind and that she was an Apple and just an Apple and there be no more talk of Pears. My heart does bleed for her and just makes me want to smash that fool Pear of a father she has into mush.
Winter 974 CE:
Dear journal. Guessing I am an all official granny now. Sweet Orange had her little foals and sent us pictures. Manehatten is a bit of a trip for us and we can't afford to leave the farm unattended. Buttercup and Bright Mac had offered to take care of every thing while I went to go see them be born season back but with the way Buttercup is walking around like a swollen little butterball with the foal in her it wouldn't be right to leave them with extra work. No word on names for them yet. She says she wants to wait a few weeks to name them. Maybe she has by now and I just ain't gotten word of it yet by mail.
Spring 975 CE:
Dear journal. I got to lay my eyes on my first grandfoal today in the flesh at least as I had only seen the twins in pictures. Buttercup gave birth to the biggest, reddest, colt I ever did see come out of a mare. I am at a loss to wonder how she managed to push him through her with splitting herself wide open. She is just a glowen though with pride with with her little colt though. Bright Mac is a walkin around with this big dumb grin on his face. I don't think Apple Core acted so dang floatin in the air about Sweet Apple or Bright Mac's births. They named the colt Big Mac after his pa and I dare say that big as he is now he might end up bigger than his pa someday.
Summer 975 CE:
Dear journal. I trust Buttercup's judgement on any spring day like I trust apples to grow on trees but I wonder what makes her be so close to that Saffron Swirl mare. It ain't that Saffron Swirl is a ill natured mare but if she didn't have that there cuttie mark in bakin treats I would swear as the sun is bright that she should have a cuttie mark in somethin that no respectable mare would show in public if you gets my meanin. I swear there have been a good deal of the town stallions' fruits in that there pie. I gets a little worried she might be tryin to gets her a great big yellow apple in her baked goods. I ain't heard no tale of her bein no home wrecker but I don't let's her alone with Bright Mac or Apple Core all the same so she doesn't get a chance to shake that plump little flank of hers where she ain't supposed to be shakin it.
That blue butterball is the only pony in Ponyville that can gets away with calling Buttercup Pear Butter without Buttercup layin on a tongue lashin. Swirl don't do it to often but when she do speak the name she gets not much more than a fleeting evil eye for it. Maybe on account of them bein friends for so long and her just always havin referred to Buttercup so.
But Swirl has been a blessing as of late I must admit. Looking out after Big Mac while Buttercup helps the rest of us work. Even taught me a few new recipes in the kitchen.

I should be writin a long entry in you journal but I just caint. I just want to be left alone. Apple Core.
Summer 977 CE:
Dear journal. Whole family turned out to Apple Core's funeral. It shocked everyone just like it shocked me. He seemed such a strong stallion with lots of years left in him. And then one day his heart just done gave out without no warnin at all. I keep runnin it all through my head about what I coulda been missin that could have warned me that he needed to be takin it easy an not pushin himself so much. I just can't think of nothin. Nothin at all that gave warnin. It ain't fair. You supposed to be able know somethin like this is comin. You supposed to be able to gets yourself used to the idea. It ain't supposed to happen until you are real old and it be clear as day your body don't have much left. Not like this.
Goldie was there tryin to hold me an I just sat there like I was in some kind of dream. That I was jus waitin to wake up. Buttercup spends her time tryin to care for Bright Mac. Bright Mac be takin it better than me but that ain't sayin he takin it well. Sweet Orange just grabs on to anyone she can hold and just sobs. She ain't much like her daddy..was..but she did love him very much.
Family I ain't seen in years come and gave their kind words. They all sayin that the Apples should all gather every so often like this so we can all better get to know our family on account of how quick some pony might suddenly find the self back in the earth that spawned us.
Winter 978 CE:
Dear journal. Goldie came to me the other day sayin she didn't want to let me down but she just caint do the trip to the farm anymore to help with the work. I am actually relieved not angry with her. I don want to end up buryin a sister because she worked herself to hard tryin to help. I thanked her kindly for all the love and help she been givin all these years an told her as much about not wantin her to overwork herself.
Buttercup is full with foal again. Life goes on. Things still hurt but hurtin don't stop that.
Summer 979 CE:
Dear journal. I be a granny once again. Buttercup gave us a new filly who if I were to not know she was born of Apples would have called the most Orange filly I ever did see. Said so myself and it earned me that evil eye from Buttercup. She be a pleasant happy mare but she is good with lettin you know you talkin like a fool with a look. She named the little filly Applejack. Applejack is a deep orange color and has a mane the color of sunshine on a summer day. And think her bein born brings a little sunshine back into my life.
Spring 986 CE:
Dear journal. Been such a quiet few years on the farm. I been leavin more and more of the decidin how to do things to Buttercup. I love my boy Bright Mac he is a strong and noble stallion to be sure but truth be told he ain't the brightest and Buttercup seems to have the head for such things much better.
No cuttie mark yet for Big Mac but that boy does seem to keep sprouting faster than weeds in a field. Boy can look me in the eye and he ain't yet hit the real sproutin years yet. Applejack is a happy little filly that seems eager to help her ma, pa, and granny.
That Saffron Swirl made done gone and finally got herself hitched. Carrot Cake seems a responsible enough stallion but seems a very odd one for her to finally decide to settle on. He may share her love for baking but he is this tiny wisp of a stallion. Don't know how a stallion like him could be standing up to her....hungers. Still all the same she announced she changin her name to Cupcake or just call her Mrs.Cake. I guess I wish them well.
Spring 987 CE:
Dear journal. Bright Mac and Buttercup sayin it is time they built there own house next to the main house. They plan on havin more youngins and the old farmhouse just ain't goin to hold the family they be wantin. Next Apple family reunion think the whole family can come together and make it so. I for sure want to see the apple family here in Ponyville to multiply like jackrabbits.
Fall 989 CE:
Dear journal. Finally got that new house built for my son, daughter, and whatever they might grow. And none too soon. Looks like Buttercup has a third bun in the oven. She tells me that there are goin to be a lot more after that. If she is wantin to be the new ma of the family I am happy to retire and let her have the title.
Summer 990 CE:
Dear journal. Third little bundle from Buttercup has arrived and I swear that filly looks like the mirror image of her father. Same bright red mane and same coat. If you took a picture of her and tried showin it around saying it was Bright Mac's baby picture I think most folks would believe it.

Author's Note
Made a decision to not include the deaths of Buttercup and Bright Mac. I think the show has it right not to tell us. I think it is enough to know that tragedy happened and happened suddenly but we don't need to know what the ultimate cause was. It is something that hurts deeply that ponies just don't want to speak of and all we need know is how much it still hurts. There is no closure in knowing.
Winter 990 CE:
Dear journal. I am sorry I treated you so badly. I just don want ta have the reminder. Truth is I haft to deal with the reminders every day. All of town has come together and cleared away the remains. There is still bits of ground that have fire scar marks. I could'n bring myself out the the house through it all. Sweet Orange is here and though she is all shook up she is makin a brave face for the Big Mac and Applejack, I can hear the dam break each night for her though. I wish I could comfort her like a good ma but I can barely hold myself together.
Big Mac finally don got his cuttie mark so guessin there is some small silver linin. Bright told Big that he needed to be the big stallion on the farm now before he finally passed and I guess that is all it took. Cuttie marks be strange things. We had hoped that Buttercup and Bright Mac might make it through but doctors done said that it was too late that they hads too much damage on their insides. They lingered a bit in pain for a couple hours and then they was gone. Ponyville ain't have those fancy unicorn doctors and not one could be fetched from Canterlot before it was too late.
At least Applebloom is too young to really know whats going on. She is wailing because she can't get her ma and everyone else is upset but at least she ain't old enough to done know why her ma and pa ain't there.
I feels old journal. I never felts old before but now I am old and tired. I got to be strong for the youngins more than ever but I feel so old.
Spring 991 CE:
Dear journal. Applejack left this morning to head off to Manehatten. Little filly tryin to get away from the hurt I think and her aunt been real kind to her when she been here this past season. She sayin that she going to get her cuttie mark and find her destiny in the big city and she going to be real sophisticated like her Aunt Orange. She just runnin away from hurt but I don't call her on it. I wish I could too.
Summer 991 CE:
Dear journal. Applejack's decided her destiny ain't in no big city like Manehatten I be guessin. Filly done hurried back the other day and got her cuttie mark. Cuttie mark says she be an Apple through and through and she is meant to be here on the farm. We were expectin her to arrive as Sweet Orange sent letter by pegasus to us lettin us know that the filly just up and ran back home.
There was this big thing like a rainbow in the sky. Everyone every where in all Equestria apparently saw the thing. Papers done say some little filly in Cloudsdale did it. I don't rightly know how some little filly could do something like that. Maybe the filly done got into something at their weather factory that made everything go crazy? Still it was quite the sight and between it and Applejack bringin herself back where she belong my spirits feel just a bit better.
Cupcake had sent post to the rotten Pear lettin him know about things figurin it would more likely be responded to if it came from someone other than an Apple. She ain't never got no reply. Tarturus is too good for that stallion.
Winter 991 CE:
Dear journal. Ran into the scariest little filly I ever did meet today. She was pink all over and had more energy than any ten full grown ponies should have put together. Cupcake says she is takin care of her and that she moved into town to pursue her destiny seein as she would'n get the chance back on her home farm. She seems to pop out of nowhere and then dash off like a jackrabbit that has a fire lit under its tail. If Cupcake is takin care of that filly I have to believe she will keep bein an honest mare as she won't have no time for any disreputable relations.
Summer 993:
Dear journal. Canterlot and Cloudsdale having ponies bein born too many and too fast it seems. Not enough room in them anymore and Ponyville is gettin the overflow. Lots of pegasus and unicorns moving into town now. This has always been an earth pony town but now it lookin like an every pony town. We even have a few of them what ya call em Threstals livin on the outskirts of town.
Fall 996 CE:
Dear journal. Had a big scare today. Timberwolves got onto the farm. Don't recall the last time if ever them evil things entered town. Not since I was a little filly at least. Unnatural things caught Big Mac outside and the big red oaf hid himself in the pig pen all quiet like and the things passed him over. The big lunk should not have even been out because town got warnin that the beasts were out an about outside the forest and everyone need to be inside. Big Mac done been stubborn and stayed out buckin trees. What would I have done if those beasts had got him? I done lost his grandpa, ma, and pa I don' think I could take losin any more.
Late Fall 996 CE:
Dear journal. These dang grandfoals of mine are going to be the death of me and the death of themselves! I still ain't understand how they managed to get things so convoluted and mixed up that I about found myself tryin to hack Big Mac's leg off with a saw like a blighted branch. Some big lie that has so many in and outs that I can't make heads or tails of it. Big Mac been real quiet since then. Applejack was the perpetrator of the whole thing and she definitely got the tongue lashin of her life for it.
Spring 997 CE:
Dear journal. Applejack done have another of her 'big ideas'. She is a full grown mare abouts now and still tryin to prove herself as the one to be runnin the farm. She was out looking at the pear orchards across the way and was talkin about taking them orchards over since they be growin wild. I was so mad I couldn't even barely speak. Told her we have bad blood with the Pears and we have nothin to do with the remains of their rotten fruit. Girl don't herself know she is half pear since her ma never claimed it in front of her and Cupcake knew better than to speak the name of Pear Butter around no children. She ain't going to be askin after nothin about no pears again for a while but wonderin how long before somepony somewhere says something to her. I don want to have that talk. It should'n be such a problem to talk about them but it feels like I be disrespectful to Buttercup to speak word of her pa since she never would have any word of him said. That and my own feelins about the varmit.
Summer 998 CE:
Dear journal. Guessin now I am Great Granny Apple. Sweet Orange wrote me that she is now Grandma Orange and she a gushin over her new grandfoals. I guessin I won't be seein her too much now as she has her own growin clan over in Manehatten she needs worryin about. Hard to imagine my sweet little Sweet Apple as gettin old herself. I definitely got the feels of my age though.
Fall 998 CE:
Dear journal. Ponyville has its own pegasus weather team now. Used to be that the team they had up in Canterlot would come down when they had finished with up there and deal with our weather. Parently they think Ponyville has enough folks in it now that we deserve our own weather team. Bout time they gave us one. Them pegasus they had doin stuff before weren't too bad but they dealin with too much to always get us handled all right.
They got some brass younger mare in charge of them. Folks say she is the same one that made the fancy lightshow years back as a filly. Not sure how I be feelin about some pony who likely blew up somethin in the weather factory bein in charge of the weather here. Fillies grow up I suppose and get more responsible but she seems a wee bit on the irresponsible side.
Summer Sun Celebration 1000 CE:
Dear journal. Applejack is a bonafide hero. All them legends about the Mare on the Moon that everyone always tell their foals and tell on Nightmare Nights turned out true. Applejack and a bunch of her friends went with some young mare from Canterlot and took off into the Everfree to take on the Mare on the Moon herself. These youngins keep doin things that make me fear for their lives. But I am mighty proud of her.
Applejack tellin me that the Mare on the Moon is good now and she the Princess's sister or some such. Never heard of the princess havin no sister but I never really paid much attention to things like that either. All I ever knew there was just Princess Celestia up in Canterlot and she been up there longer than any person else I know been alive. She sometimes every so many years shows up for certain holidays like this year. I guessin I should likely be readin up on this kind of stuff more if Applejack goin to be gettin all involved with that stuff.
Fall 1000 CE:
Dear journal. Celestia save me from these youngins. The lists of mischief that Applebloom gets herself into with her friends might not just kill me but the whole dang town. Just started recently but it went from nothin with mischief from her to nothin but mischief. Never seen such mischief from a group of fillies. I need to get me some sleep because she is going to sap whatever energy I have left. They say they tryin everythin to get their cuttie marks. I hope they done get them quickly I don' think the town can survive real late appearin cuttie marks on those three.
Spring 1001 CE:
Dear journal. Applejack decided she going to take over runnin the Apple family reunion this year. She took some time to get a hang of what she should be doin but she got it after a while with a few bumps along the way. Guessin she might be the one who will be leadin the Apple farm in the future though she needs some smoothin out. Big Mac seems in his pa's mold if a bit less of a talker while Applejack seems a bit more like her like me than her ma or pa. Theys good ones but I ain't lettin em know I trust them to make decisions about the farm.
Fall 1001 CE:
Dear journal. I can't rightly keep up with all the doins and goens that Applejack has going on. Seems like the world need savin every other day. Like it been savin up all the big ruckus to use all at once. Now if Applejack could just save Ponyville from her wild little sis we be doin great.
Winter 1001 CE:
Dear journal. Ponyville has itself its own alicorn princess. We been havin so much commotion goin on the last year in town I can't even keep up with it all meself. Figured I needed to at least write to you about the whole princess thingie. Guessin Ponyville will be gettin more folks from all over comin in to live here.
Shortly after we gots a princess- her name is Twilight Sparkle and she's good friends with the family-we started havin all these dang vines tryin to go swollow the place up. Twilight, Applejack, and their friends gone and done somethin to make it all stop but I can't say I really understand it.
Winter 1002 CE:
Dear journal. Okay there is now a great big castle in the middle of Ponyville. Lots more commotion before it sprang up. I am just goin to accept things as they come I guess. Applejack is usually in the middle of it all dealin with stuff. Makes her a big important mare to be doin it all but that youngin is gonna give me a heart attack yet havin me fear for her all the time.
Spring 1004 CE:
Dear journal. It's about blame time but Big Mac seems to finally taken interest in a mare. Names Sugar Belle some mare from a town way out yonder away from everything. I try to gets the place's name but I think everypony gets confused when I ask where because they just say "Our Town". The girl is a unicorn from what I hear, haven't actually met her yet, and she is a baker. Big Mac always did have sort of weird fascinations with horns. I wonder about her bein a baker and worry a bit. Only other baker mare I know is Cupcake and I think anypony that believes those twins of hers popped out because of Carrot Cakes seeds they must be a blind fool.
Startin to worry over Applejack not havin found herself a proper husband. She ain't shown the least bit of interest even when them stallions is plainly interested. Wonder sometimes if she is a filly fooler. Ain't nothin wrong with bein like that I suppose. Those two mares I see off by the apple stand seem good enough mares that are clearly sharin one another's pie. Bit disappointin is all because id be nice to see some more great grandfoals from her.
Big Mac better get round soon to bringin that Sugar Belle round here so I can size her up. See what kind of ma she might be. Gotta be someone who can take up the mantle of Ma Apple.
Summer 1004 CE:
It's been a long road journal. Today things that needed to be said long ago got said. Big Mac, Applejack, and Applebloom know their ma was born a Pear now. And on top of that after all this time and all this heartache the old prickly Pear done wandered back to town. I am too old and too tired to be angry with him anymore. Been too much hurt and wounds to the heart. He seems all beaten down himself. He wants to know more about the mare his daughter was and get to know her foals. It don't make the hurt go away for anypony. But their ain't no anger left in any of us. I never thought I would see the day I could forgive Grand Pear but our hours are growin short and there just ain't time for us to be all hateful anymore.
I ain't sure how much time I got left. Applebloom is at the age she should start sproutin up in size soon. Big Mac is movin towards finally settlin down with a mare. Applejack might just spend most of the rest of her life fighten some monster or other and I hope that none of that cuts it short for her. Me I wonder if I will make it to see my great grandfoals. Still never met Sweet Oranges brood or their broods. They off in Manehatten far from me. Perhaps I'll write her askin her to bring them all to visit so I can meet em all once. Wonder if I will get to see Applebloom blossom into a rightful mare. I am just so tired journal. But havin talked about Bright Mac and Buttercup again and finally makin peace it feels like some closure on stuff that needed to be done. I don't know when I will be no more but I am healed in some way journal. And I can die a happy made knowin I will see those I thought I lost soon because they just waitin on me.
