When Sunset Shimmer finishes fixing the school front, she finds herself locked away from human society in chains. Rainbow, Fluttershy, AJ, Pinkie, and Rarity find her in a close-to-death state. The next semester, after Sunset gets back on her feet from above situation, Sunset learns in isolated classes; away from the still-untrusting students as she tries to become a part of human society once again.
