Chapter 4: I'm Sorry (Derpy)

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It was a dark cloudy morning. Derpy arrived at her house with a box of supplies. She set the box down on the kitchen counter. A tear fell down her face as she pulled a piece of paper out of one of the kitchen drawers and began writing.

To Whom it May Concern-

I'm sorry. I'm sorry I was born this way. I wish I could have just been normal for once. I know now that nothing in my life was real. My first love, My friendship with Rainbow Dash, even my job. I chuckle at the thought that maybe it was real. I always thought that maybe I would be loved someday, but I guess we don't always get what we want. I'm sorry for all the grief I've caused you. I like to look back and think of all the laugh's I had with Rainbow Dash, how she helped me with all my problems. She was my best friend, or I thought she was.

Tears began falling on the paper, smudging some of the ink.

That's why I have decided to write this letter. I have thought long and hard about my decision. I tried talking my self out of it, but I just can't deal with the pain anymore. I don't want to take away from anymore of your lives, and I feel that this is the only way out. I'm sure that when you find me, you will probably cry. Please don't, I know those tears are fake. I guess Celestia was right to take my child away from me. But, I will soon be reunited with her, my sweet little Dinky Doo.

I'm Sorry.

Derpy Hooves

Derpy neatly folded the tear stained paper, setting it down on the counter. She grabbed the box and opened it, revealing a knife and a piece of rope. She pulled the items out of the box and set them on the couch. She looked up at the ceiling fan. Despite it being old, It still looked sturdy. She grabbed the rope and wrapped it around the fan, and gave a tug before doing a test fall to make sure it would hold her weight. It did. She pulled the rope off and then tied it around the fan. She grabbed the other end of the rope and tied a noose. She pulled it a few times to make sure it would work. It tightened around her hoof. She loosened it, enough to fit her head through. She walked over and grabbed one of the chairs and dragged it over. The chair was an old wooden chair. This allowed her to give her wings some rest.

She looked at the knife. She had bought it in case she wanted to end her life another way. She couldn't stand the sight of blood and decided to just leave it there. She climbed on top of the chair. Balancing on her hind hooves, She used her forehooves to put the noose around her neck. She looked down at the floor, before sending a silent prayer to Celestia. She pulled her head up before uttering. "I'm sorry."

A final tear streamed down her face as she kicked out the chair under her.
