Spike's Loss
Loss of the Heart
Load Full StorySpike’s claws gripped the flower stems tightly. His other hand kept nervously adjusting the flashy jewel encrusted red bow tie that hugged his neck a bit too tightly. He wore his best, (and only) suit that had been ironed out the day before. Beads of sweat dripped off his face as he shuddered. He stared up at the door of the Carousel Boutique, the home and store of his one and only love, Rarity.
His eyes glanced upwards for the second time today. The clouds that had moved in over the sky frightened him. Though rain was nothing to be scared of, Spike knew that the weather typically dictated how things were going to go. The rain not only ruined beautiful picnics, it also ruined beautiful lives.
Spike had once left some of Twilight’s books out in the rain. She was upset, to say the least. Another time Spike baby sat some spiders for Fluttershy and accidentally left them in a cage in the rain. Fluttershy was as mad as she could get since the spiders had all nearly drowned. Luckily, she had been flying by or they might have.
Spike always tended to have bad luck when it rained. He hoped today would be the exception.
Spike wanted this day to go well. He had been waiting for it for a long time. It all started about a year and six months ago, right before Spike had decided to go on his journey of self-discovery. He had finally confessed his love to Rarity, and, to his surprise, she confessed to love him as well. It was incredibly romantic, but Spike said that he hadn’t wanted to date until he returned. He promised to be back within six months’ time.
He was gone for much longer.
That was definitely his fault, of course. His journey of self-discovery ended up taking longer than he thought it would because at the end of those six months, he realized he did not have an end goal. He meant to leave to learn more about himself, but after six months, he found that he had done nothing to try and better himself. He learned, after much thinking, that that was not even in the first place. From that, he started anew.
He knew his friends back in Ponyville would get worried if he did not return when he said he would, but he thought of a great plan to finish his newly made goal. He knew he had to begin it right then and there if he ever planned to finish it in less than two years. He ended up finishing before his predicted two-year mark, which was great--but he still left everypony he knew worried, without a letter to even spare them from the thoughts that he might be dead.
His return home was welcomed with the biggest party he’d ever seen from Pinkie Pie. Many welcome hugs and presents were given to him by his friends. The only pony to not be at the party was Rarity, who hadn’t showed up. Pinkie Pie said she had some last minute work to attend to. This made Spike worried, since she had promised to be there for him upon his return. Wouldn’t she, of all ponies, be able to drop any of her work to come see her true love, if even for a moment?
It all made Spike incredibly nervous. He wondered if something was wrong. Was there something somepony wasn’t telling him? Twilight seemed awfully nervous when he said he was off to visit Rarity. She didn’t try to stop him from leaving the house. Perhaps nothing was wrong... but Spike couldn’t help but feel like something was off.
Spike didn’t even have to knock. As soon as his claw touched the door, it creaked open, revealing a brightly lit, yet empty, boutique. This was Spike’s home as much as it was Rarity’s. Rarity had always said he was welcome to come in at any time, after all. He stepped his carefully, his wings rustling at his sides with nervousness as he shut the door behind him with his tail.
There was a muffled noise coming from upstairs. Spike knew he should have just called Rarity down, letting her know he was there, but something compelled him to move forward. Something in him told him to move forward up the stairs. Slow as a snail, he inched his way up the stairs until he came to Rarity’s main room at the top floor.
There were definitely voices in the room. Two voices, to be exact. One was Rarity’s voice as clear as day and the other was deep, male voice. There was a lot of heavy breathing, grunting and moaning. Spike could hear his own heart pounding in his chest. His heartbeat was almost so loud that he couldn’t hear what was going on in the room.
Almost.
Pressing his head against the door, Spike strained to hear what was happening.
“AHHHHH… OHHH…” Rarity’s moans came in loud and clear. “Give me it to me! Give me everything you’ve got!”
There was a loud growl, followed by the sound of a shaking bed. Rarity’s bed was squeaking and squealing. The male voice grunted a little and Rarity screamed.
“Thundy… you’re… big as before!”
“You’re so tight, Rarity!”
The deep voice was unmistakable. Spike forced the door open and practically flew into the room. The couple on the bed stopped to stare at him. He stared back at them.
There was a slick, wet pop as the stallion fell off the bed. Rarity stared at Spike, her face red.
“S-spike-”
“So,” Spike began, coldly. “I come back from my journey and this is what I see?”
“Spike, we thought you were dead… ” Rarity tried to explain, juices still flowing out from under her.
“That’s not an EXCUSE!” Spike roared. “You should have waited for me! And now you’re... you’re... with him!”
“Spike, please, let me explain,” Rarity said, tears welling up in her eyes.
Spike stared at her coldly.
“Listen to what? A cheating slut?” he asked, his eyes narrowing.
“Spike--”
“No. It’s over.”
Rarity could see the tears welling up in his eyes. She felt her heart snap. It hurt her so much, seeing him like this... but there was something else in his eyes as well. Something that disturbed her.
Spike walked around the bed. Laying, cowering on the other side, was Thunderlane. His cock was still out and dripped with cum. Spike could see it poking out from under him. No wonder Rarity liked him. His cock was thick. It was large.
It had to go.
Thunderlane grinned sheepishly up at Spike. Spike stared back down, his face expressionless.
“So uh, no hard feelings, ri-”
Thunderlane’s words were cut off as his body was flung around the room. Rarity gasped and cried out as Thunderlane hit the far wall with a loud grunt.
“Spike!”
Spike was dying inside.
His journey of self-discovery was a waste. He hoped nopony would ever find out that he had failed his own quest and those extra years were only a waste of his time. He came back to everypony who assumed he had found what he wanted when in truth, he had found nothing at all.
He had hoped to come home and marry Rarity like he originally intended. She was literally all he had left to live for. None of his friends mattered to him. They were why he had left in the first place.
Thunderlane pushed himself up off the ground. He seemed unsteady on his own hooves and Spike knew it. He stomped over to the stallion who tore his heart out of his soul and stared him down.
“Now look, Spike,” Thunderlane began, his voice wavering, “I don’t want any trouble, see? I-I’m sorry-”
“Sorry?” Spike asked, his voice cracking. “Sorry doesn’t even begin to cover it.”
He grabbed Thunderlane in his claws. The poor stallion was helpless to his strength. Spike, the mighty dragon, was stronger than him. He could easily overpower anypony. Spike grabbed Thunderlane’s cock.
“Spike?”
There was a loud scream. Spike knew what had happened, and he couldn’t care less. He could feel his dragon blood stirring inside him. A rage was awakened that could not be quenched. He could not see with all the blood in his eyes, but he could hear Rarity screaming and Thunderlane screaming. He could feel Thunderlane in his one hand and Thunderlane’s penis in his other hand. While still holding onto his penis, Spike threw Thunderlane out of the second floor window of Rarity’s boutique.
He heard a thud below and no more of Thunderlane’s screaming. He could still feel Thunderlane’s penis in his hand. He dropped the dick, wiped the blood out of his eyes and turned to Rarity. Rarity was staring at him with empty, glassy eyes.
“Why?” she whispered.
“Now we’re even.”

Spike nudged Thunderlane’s body into an empty grave. The gray stallion’s body flopped lifelessly into the hole he had dug. Spike sat as he watched the remaining blood from Thunderlane’s system pour into the empty hole. With a single flick of his tail, the dirt he had dug up covered the hole.
Spike sat down, as still as a rock. The world around him seemed to go still. He closed his eyes, threw back his head and let out an eerie wail. The wail soon turned to sobbing. Spike’s body shook and shuddered as he sobbed into his claws. His life was over. Rarity had destroyed his life and he had destroyed hers.
Spike stared at the boutique from his spot on the hill. He could see that the lights were no longer on inside. The storm clouds that had gathered earlier began to do their job, sending a light drizzle onto the world below.
Spike knew Rarity would eventually report what he had done. He would get caught and be arrested. He was always treated as less than a pony in this washed up town. If he wasn’t somepony’s slave then he was just some kid that everypony looked down on. Even upon his return, they still treated him the same way, with Twilight expecting him to return to work as per usual and Rainbow Dash calling him kiddo. Rarity was the only pony to pay him for his services, in gems.
Now she had betrayed him. His only light in this dim, gloomy world was gone forever. She would never be his, no matter how much he wished it so. Spike had no wish to spend any moment longer in this paralyzing darkness.
He lumbered quietly away from the hole towards the Everfree Forest. There, on the edge of the forest, stood one particular tree--with a noose tied to it.
Spike had contemplated suicide before. His life had been far from peachy keen, but he always had some reason to keep him from going over the edge. His only light, Rarity, was the only thing that stood between him and death. Now, she was gone… and only darkness could be seen.
Spike adjusted the noose around his neck. There was no need for comfort, for there would be comfort when he was gone. The tree that held up the noose would hold, for he had tested it on other heavy items. He was ready to die.
“Wait!” A familiar white pony came into his field of view. “Please don’t do this, Spike!”
“Why not?” Spike asked, tears blurring his vision.
“Because… ” Rarity paused. “Because… ”
“There isn’t anything left here for me, Rarity. We are over.”
“There must be something!” Rarity was sobbing now too.
“There isn’t.” Spike struggled to keep himself from falling into the noose. He wanted to see where this was going. “Why do you care, Rarity? Plenty of stallions would throw themselves at you! You can find somepony else to use like the slut you are!”
“I didn’t use you or Thunderlane!” Rarity screamed back. “I moved on because I thought you were dead! Please don’t kill yourself over me! There are other mares!”
“We both know that if you had actually loved me then you would have waited,” Spike mumbled.
Rarity said nothing. She turned and trotted away down the hill. Spike watched her go.
He was more than ready to die.
And die he did.
