When Derpy Hooves, the beloved mail mare, and her new found love Guardian Wings, the head engineer for the Royal Guard, go missing after the Grand Galloping Gala something is amiss. With strange burn marks on the lawn and footprints left by a bipedal creature suddenly appearing and disappearing. Only one question comes to mind. Where did they go? Some ponies say aliens did it. Others say it is all a trick. But, others say something even worse. What if the humans took them?

Three years later and all Derpy and Guardian see when they look in the mirror of the nightmare they woke up in what they see is truly horrific. For their bodies have been completely changed into lifelike masses of metal and wires.
