“Twilight, do You really insist that me and Pinkie share a room?” Rarity questioned her alicorn friend. She and her dearest friends had booked hotel rooms at their trip over at Manehatten. Everypony within the group had been paired up with a bunk buddy. Unfortunately, Rarity wasn’t pleased with the pony she was paired with….
“Why do you worry so much, Rarity? I mean, it’s just Pinkie Pie!” She shrugged and gave a smile. The ponies were already at the lobby of the hotel. Everypony else had been occupied with the scenery of the city while Rarity and Twilight were at the front desk, obtaining the keycards to their rooms.
“Darling, you don’t understand! I-I’ve never…” She bit her lip and looked back at her friend, Pinkie Pie. The pink mare simply stared in awe, looking at the skyscrapers through the large windows... Rarity looked back to Twilight with fear in her eyes. “... We have never slept in the same room. I mean, I’m not saying she’s a bad pony to be around, but I just don’t think she’s… The quiet kind of pony.”
Twilight chuckled and levitated the three keycards, lending one of them to her friend. “Well you should give it a shot, Rarity. This will give you the chance to experience of sharing a room with Pinkie Pie. I mean, you shouldn’t fear your friends in the first place. Who knows, maybe she could be a quiet pony.” Twilight trotted off to give the remaining keycard to her other friends.
The white mare was left with her thoughts… She stared at the keycard with a worried look and darted her eyes back to Pinkie Pie, the pony who she would have to share a room with. “I really doubt it, dear…” She whispered.
A couple minutes fly by… Pinkie Pie and Rarity stood in the elevator, waiting for their stop. Rarity stood in a posh stance, staying quiet. She looked over to her friend, who was occupied bouncing in place with her saddle bag on her back.
“Ooooooh! I’m so happy we’re room buddies! I get to hang out more with my bestest friend in the whole wide world!” Pinkie hugged her friend and rubbed her cheek happily against her friend’s.
Rarity shot up a nervous smile and chuckled. “Haha, Indeed. I am, very delighted to share a room with you…” The tone to her voice sounded dishonest. The Pink mare wasn’t fooled by her response and pretended she didn’t notice...
The elevator had made it to their floor and the doors opened up. The mares stepped out and eyed the corridors. Pinkie and looked around curiously and searched for their room number. She trotted down the hallway, reading out the numbers…” 214, 215… 216!” She pointed at the door as if she found something exicting. Rarity pulled out her keycard and opened up the room. Just as she opened the door, Pinkie’s first instinct was find the bed. She bursts through the doorway and dove onto the only bed in the room…
“Wheeeee!” She bounced on top of the sheets and giggled happily. Rarity closed the door behind her and watched her friend enjoy the bed. She levitated her bag and tossed it aside. Pinkie took notice and tossed her bag aside as well. “We’re gonna have so much fun! Wait, are we allowed to call room service?! Can we order chocolate smoothies? Maybe even cheesecake! Or apple pie! I can go for something sweet right now! What about you, Rares~?” She laid on her belly and flailed her hind hooves around.
“Slow down, dear. They most certainly do have room service.” She sat on the edge of the bed and levitated the flyer left by the side table. The expression on her face showed that she was unsettled.
Pinkie sighed and her ears pointed down… “You don’t want to be my room buddy, do you…” She looked away from her and felt hurt from her friend’s behaviour… Rarity’s eyes widen and realized what’s she had been doing the whole time.
She sighed and leaned over to comfort her friend, gently wrapping her forehooves around her. “Darling, I’m sorry. It’s rude of me to be like this around you… I shouldn’t be the one to judge you for who you are.” The mare stroked her friend’s fluffy sweet scented mane… “I’m just a little nervous about… sharing a bed together. I mean, I’ve shared a bed with Applejack once, but to be honest, I’ve never expect that we would end up sharing one…”
The pink mare appreciated her friend’s comfort. She scooted closer to her and chuckled. “ I know I’m a party animal, Rares. I promise you, I’m a super good bed buddy!” Pinkie smirked up at Rarity . “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!”
Rarity giggled and nuzzled Pinkie’s forehead. “Well I appreciate your promise, darling. Apologies for being such a ‘Debby Downer’ so quickly. I know what would make this evening better for us!” The unicorn smiled, levitating the phone to dial up room service.
And hour passes, Pinkie Pie had gone through about 5 milkshakes and two whole apple pies. As for Rarity, she had drank 2 milkshakes and ate an entire cheesecake… Both of the mares laid lazily on the bed, gossiping and giggling happily. The unicorn leaned against her friend, listening to what she had to say.
“…And that is how I found my rubber chicken, Sir George the II!” Pinkie Pie smiled as her friend laughed out loud to the story she just told.
“Sweet Celestia, that is a hilarious story, Pinkie!” Rarity leaned against her and wrapped her arms, continuing to giggle. “You know, maybe having you as a bed buddy isn’t so bad.” She smiled and sighed, relieved from her worries. “Darling, what time is it?”
Pinkie looked over at the clock. “11:35.” She grinned back at her friend for a moment until she realized how late the stayed. Both mares looked at each other in surprise. “Maybe we should hit the hay, huh?” She giggled.
“I-I agree!” The two of them adjusted themselves in the bed so they lay their faces away from each other. Rarity turned off the desk lamp beside her and snuggled once more into the sheets. “Good night, Pinkie.”
“Nighty night, Rares!” She turned off the desk lamp on her side as well before shutting her eyes.
Silence; something Rarity would’ve never expected coming from Pinkie. Not even an obnoxious snore to begin with. She smiled then silently sighed, hoping to have a nice night’s rest. The mare was only left to her thoughts. What was I thinking? This is completely fine! Pinkie actually sleeps quietly! Soon enough, Rarity begins to slowly fall asleep...

Chapter 2 - Morning Interruptions
Rarity woke up to the tossing and turning from Pinkie’s side of the bed. It had only been about two hours since she was sound asleep. It's 2 in the morning. Me and my loud thoughts... What is that pony doing …the mare's eyes shot open and she let out a silent sigh…
“Pinkie, please tell me you’re not ordering room serv-" Just as she turned her head, she realized how close Pinkie was to her; she could feel her friend's breathing and her body brushed up against Rarity’s side. Pinkie’s forehooves hugged around her friend’s curved body and she laid her hind legs around Rarity’s waist...
The unicorn has no words about the situation; her best friend was spooning her… Her cheeks grew red as she never felt Pinkie in such a way. Part of her wanted to gently push Pinkie aside or maybe even wake her up, however Rarity felt strangely comfortable in her friend’s embrace.
Pinkie’s soft body rubbed calmly against Rarity back, her hooves wrapped around her tighter. Her muzzle gently brushed into Rarity’s cheek... The feeling of her warm, sweet breathe causes the unicorn's face to grow red than before.
“P...Pinkie?” Rarity whimpered out. Her friend was in a deep sleep. She adjusted her body to face Pinkie…Her eyes stared at the pink horse. Even before, Rarity envied her friend’s natural beauty. Thinking about it causes her stomach to emit a butterfly-like feeling and she silently whines...
The pink pony’s breath smelt so sweet. Her head leaned forward to the point that Rarity began exchanging breaths. Rarity’s body grew warm from this moment. A name escaped from under Pinkie's lips. “…Rar…ity…” The sound of her friend’s sleep talk sends chills through Rarity’s body... Rarity bit her own lip and within an instinct, she carefully wrapped her forehooves around Pinkie and eased into her comfort… Her hooves slowly ran down Pinkie’s back and up to her mane.
Her actions cause Pinkie's hind legs to twitch a little and let out a small squeak. Rarity froze and from her friend's movements, not wanting to wake her up oddly. It was already odd enough to Rarity to see her friend Pinkie, known for being the loud kind of pony, be so quiet.
She thought to herself. Why... Why am I feeling like this over somepony who's just so... Different from me... She had been so deep in her mind that she didn't realize Pinkie was awake. She was greeted by her sky blue eyes. The room may have been dimly lighted; but Rarity could tell that her friend had a shocked expression painted on her face.
Both mares stared at each other; their expressions show as if they were both caught doing something guilty. The silence broke as both mares stumble back to their ends of the bed. They had the same color to their cheeks; red.
"U-Uh... Sorry! I had a dream about... Marshmallows! Big ones!" The pink pony let out a small nervous giggle and turned away from Rarity.
"That's fine! I was dreaming about, er... Dresses!" Rarity's excuse was extreme lame and she immediately regretted. "Yes. Dresses." Her muzzle scrunched up from such a bad lie.
More silence. Both ponies were still awake, unable to shake this awkward moment...
"Well, good night again!" Pinkie closed her eyes, trying to fall back asleep. The mare snuggled into the sheets, trying to get comfortable in this situation.
Rarity stayed silent, nervous she'd embarrass herself even more.
Hours later, Rarity was the first to wake up out of the two. As she sat up, so did parts of her hair. Her cow licked mane stood up and pointed in different directions. The unicorn was still dazed, not caring about her appearance. She turned aside, noticing that Pinkie was still asleep. Rarity was well rested even despite the interruption from last night. She hopped out of bed and stretched her limbs and body. The mare made it to the bathroom and went on to clean herself up.
After brushing her teeth, taking a shower and drying herself off. It felt like a brand new day to Rarity. With a bright smile on her face, she open the door and exit the bathroom-
"OH MY SWEET CELESTIA!" She jumped back, nearly slipping on the bathroom tiles. The mare was terrified from the sight she was greeted with. Her friend Pinkie had been standing silently in front of the door. What threw her off was the grumpy expression on her face and the flat mane. It was as if she was a different pony. In fact, it was like she was from some kind of horror story.
"Mind if I borrow the bathroom, Rares?" The grump pony asked. The tone to her voice sounded so neutral, that is was hard to make out her actual mood.
Rarity's shocked expression stuck until she had realized it was Pinkie Pie. "Of course, dear. Go right ahead." She stepped back, offering her to come into the bathroom.
"Thanks..." Pinkie slowly walked into the bathroom while Rarity exited the room. The door shut behind her and Rarity glared at it, wondering if last night had caused her to have bad sleep.
It was until her thoughts shifted as she began hearing odd sounds in the bathroom. Now she was just puzzled. She muttered to herself. "What on earth is she doing in there...?"
Her first instinct was to place her ear on the bathroom door. She heard what sounded like a drill bit, to a rubber ducky, to even an elephant in the room. And after a minute of unusual, the door opens.
Pinkie was revealed looking good as new! Her mane was inflated and she looked happy as usual.
Rarity squinted at her. "Are you... alright?" She raised her eyebrows curiously.
"Yepper deppers, Rare-a-rino~!" She greeted in a happy bubbly tone. She stuck her tongue out. It was as if nothing had happen.
"But you were just- You seemed so Grumpy just a moment ago! Are you sure?" The unicorn couldn't help but just question how her friend functions.
Pinkie rolled her eyes and flicked her forehoof out. "Oh! I'm usually like that in the mornings! I remember when I first lived with the Cakes, they would ask me that all the time." She giggles thinking back at her fillyhood...
"So... Nothing is bothering you?" Rarity questioned once more.
"Yep!" Pinkie shook her head.
"Are you sure, dear?"
"Mhm!" Shaking her head even more.
Rarity took a moment to stare down her friend; making sure she isn't lying... The pink horse just stuck her tongue out and stared back at her. "Alright then..." Convinced Pinkie was fine, she shrugged off her thoughts and trotted over to the mirror by their hotel bed.
"You excited to take a Ferry boat around Manehatten?! Because I aaaaaaam~!!" Pinkie sang out loud. Her excitement made Rarity grin due to the happiness she was emitting. The unicorn went on to to apply makeup on her face.
"Why of course! It's gonna be even better since all six of us are gonna be there!"
