//-------------------------------------------------------// Destiny: A Magical Light -by Mattronus87- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Ep.1: The Entrance //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note This is my first time making a crossover story about one of my favorite video game franchises, so I don't know how you guys will react. I'll be taking my time making the episodes as I go along, so some patience is required here until the second chapter has been released. Just bear with me, I am in no way an experienced writer, so what I have made won't be perfect. Ep.1: The Entrance The Cosmodrome has been rather slow regarding any alerts or anything actually interesting. I take out the occasional Fallen scouting party or two, but that's really about it. My ghost also knows how boring this place is without other Guardians here. I get ready to head to orbit, when all of a sudden I get a transmission from Zavala himself. "He never sends out any private communications unless it's something important." I thought as I pick up on his communication. He explains in a crackled voice over the comms: "Guardian, we've picked up some strange readings near the Skywatch, we want you to check it out." "We're on it, commander." My ghost tells him. The transmission closes, so I raise my wrist to summon my sparrow, and I throttle the gas, proceeding to the Lunar Complex. I exit the Lunar Complex, entering the Skywatch. Usually there would be Fallen and Hive fighting each other, but there was something off about this place. "The Skywatch is completely empty!" I thought as I got off my sparrow. My ghost appears next to me, scanning the entire area for any life signs. "I'm not picking up anything out of the ordinary." My ghost says. "Apart from the lack of Fallen and Hive, that is." "Were they driven out by something?" I ask him, looking around. "When we're here, they always keep each other busy." "In any case, I'll let Zavala know we didn't find anything." He says disappearing. "Maybe the reports were false-" He was cut off by an ear piercing sound that emanated from below me. A portal all of a sudden opens below my feet, and I fall into it before I could pull my Hawkmoon out. "Guardian? Guardian? Eyes up Guardian!" Is the first thing I hear when I'm waking up. I slowly get up off the ground, shaking my head. I notice straight away that we were no longer in the Cosmodrome. I look around, and all I can see is crystalline structures. My ghost scans one of them, then scans another one. "These crystals seem to have naturally grown here." My ghost explains. "Fascinating!" I notice what looked to be a city made completely out of the same material as the crystal growths, as well as a giant tower in the center of it all. "Uh... ghost?" I say over to him. "You may want to see this." My ghost halts his scan, and looks to where I am looking. "Wow." He says astonishingly. "That looks like an empire of some sort." "Hey, since we're here... can we explore the place?" I ask him. "This looks to be new territory to cover." "Let me do a scan for any life first." He says, floating higher into the air. He lets out a few scanning pulses, then comes back down to say: "There's other life forms here, but they're only animals." I raise my wrist to summon my sparrow, but it doesn't appear next to me. "No transmission here." My ghost says. "We're going to have to proceed on foot." I put my wrist down, sighing with annoyance, and I walk to the crystal city. I come up to a street that had ponies of multiple colors walking about their business. I walk down the street, the ponies looking at me curiously. I could also hear them talking amongst each other, what was odd was that I could understand what they were saying. Some of them try to ignore me, others stop what they are doing to get a good look at me. "Fascinating, these ponies can talk!" My ghost says. "I wonder what gave them the ability to do that though?" I decide to take a look at some of them, they weren't the type of ponies I knew about from back home. Some of these ponies had wings, some had horns, others looked like ordinary ponies, only their coats had different color palettes. "Ghost?" I ask quietly, trying to not be heard by any of the ponies. "Are they looking at me like that because of my cloak? Or are we the first outsiders to step foot here?" "Maybe it's both." He says. "Let's just get to the center of this empire to get a good reading of the place." I keep walking down the street, passing some curious and not so curious ponies. I then come across a massive courtyard, where I look up to see the tower completely envelops the courtyard. I look straight ahead to a floating heart that looks to be made of crystal. "Guardian, can you get me close to that heart?" My ghosts asks me. "I'm picking up a strong energy reading from it." I walk towards the heart, some ponies were looking at me with either worried or surprised looks on their faces. I stop dead in my tracks after I hear a loud "STOP!" behind me. I turn around to see a pony wearing armor and holding a metal spear. "What do you think you're doing... whatever you happen to be?" The pony says in a stern voice. My ghost appears next to me, saying: "If we're trespassing, then we didn't mean to do it." "You two coming with me." He says. His horn glows, and we teleport to what I think to be the a hallway inside of the tower. The pony walks down the hallway, "Follow me." He said. I follow him down the hall, and we enter a giant room. In the center of the room, there were nine ponies and a what I could describe as a "Little dragon kid" are talking amongst themselves. Eight of them look towards me with the same look all the other ponies had outside. "Sir, we found this creature near the crystal heart." The armored pony said. "It was walking towards the heart, suspiciously from my point of view." My ghost appears next to me, saying: "We didn't mean to trespass, if we were that is." "We'll take it from here." A white stallion with purple armor said to the pony next to me. "Head back to your post." "Yes sir." He said, turning around and walking down the hallway. "So, uh" A blue pegasus with rainbow mane said curiously. "What are you two exactly?" Me and my ghost look at each other, then back towards the ponies. "I'm a Guardian... and this is my ghost..." I respond slowly. "We're... not exactly from here." [To be continued] //-------------------------------------------------------// Ep.2: A Dark Crystal Pt.1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note Happy 4th of July everyone! Now I do apologize if some characters don't seem to be themselves at some moments, I've stopped watching the show ever since the end of season 6. Plus I got a bit lazy at times, so things might not make any sense at all. Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape, or form that good of a writer. So nothing I make is going to be perfect. With that said, hope you guys enjoy part 1 of episode 2! :) Ep.2: A Dark Crystal Pt.1 "So let me get this straight." I confirm with five of The Mane Six, Shining Armor, Spike, and Princess Cadence. "We're in a world known as Equestria, and this empire is known as The Crystal Empire." "We're the first of our kind you have seen in this world." My ghost adds. "And there are dark forces here as well, sounds like back home." "That just about sums it up, sugar cube!" Applejack says. "Stuff like changelings, Nightmare Moon, Tirek, Sombra, but those are long gone by now." "You mentioned you're a "hunter" correct?" Shining Armor asks. I nod. "What are your tactics for defending a city?" "Well, I mainly sit in the back and snipe Fallen." I explain. "Sometimes some Hive come up, but they're easy to take out." "You take care of stuff like "Fallen" and "Hive" back home?" Rainbow Dash asks. "What do you do that with? Sounds cool!" "I would usually do it with a sniper rifle, but I never leave home without my Hawkmoon." I say, twirling my Hawkmoon around like the Last Word hand cannon. "This baby's never failed me in the past." "I have to say, it looks rather nice, darling." Rarity comments. "Your weapon is themed after an eagle? That's very unique indeed!" "Um, you mentioned something about you being an "exo" by chance?" Fluttershy asked quietly. "May I ask, um, what might that be?" "That's my... actually it's best if I show you." I say, putting my hands on my helmet to take it off. My ghost quickly replies with: "Exos are a type of human that were manufactured in a "Golden Age" back home, there's also Awoken and Humans and-" I cut him off with: "Ok let's not overload them with that type of info, ghost." "No no, please continue!" Twilight said. "This is the first time you're in this world, it's amazing to be document this!" I just noticed that Spike was writing down as much as he could on a piece of parchment. "Why isn't SHE writing this down instead of HIM?" I thought to myself. As soon as I was about to ask her that, I get cut off by Shining Armor saying: "That's my sister for ya! Always the one to keep everything in check!" I cross my arms, looking over to the balcony. I could see some storm clouds coming in, some very dark ones. While my ghost is talking with Twilight, I quickly blurt out: "Anyone else notice those clouds out there?" Rainbow Dash mentioned that the weather here is controlled by weather ponies, which me and my ghost found to be interesting. "Hey, today was suppose to have a clear sky!" Rainbow Dash says, her wings extending. "I'm heading over there to find out what's going on!" She takes off towards the clouds, everyone still talking amongst themselves. "Excuse me, but do you mind if I bring some friends here?" Princess Cadence asks me politely. "They would be honored to meet you!" "Um... sure?" I reply weirdly. I think to myself: "Great, more ponies to meet, I wonder what else this world has to offer." "Great! I will write them a letter now!" She said. I start to feel uneasy after a loud thundering sound rocks the room. I don't know how I manage to do stuff like this, but I quickly blink to the balcony and catch an incoming Rainbow Dash. I go sliding across the floor, and thanks to Twilight's reaction to my blink, she teleports everyone out of the way. I land into the throne with a loud thud, and in my arms, a seared and injured Rainbow Dash. Now, I didn't feel injured thanks to my armor, but I'm not so sure about this steaming pony in my lap right now. "What happened?" Shining Armor asks worriedly. "Are you two ok???" "I'm ok, I've had worse." I say, putting my hand on my head and shaking. "I don't think this one is though." Rainbow Dash moans in pain, then says: "That's... no... ordinary... storm cloud..." Shining Armor lifts her up off of my lap with his magic as she falls unconscious. My ghost looks at the incoming storm clouds, saying: "I'm getting some dark readings from that cloud, I don't know about you guys, but I'm also getting a familiar vibe from it." I stand up, asking Shining Armor: "Can you get her some medical attention?" "I'll have some paramedics keep her stable, I'll also let the guards know that something's on the way!" "Guardian, we should probably intercept whatever is coming this way." My ghost says. "It'll be like defending the city back home!" "Except it's actually going to be interesting this time." I say. "Alright, let's do it!" "I'll come with you, I want to help." Twilight says. "I'm getting a familiar vibe from this, too." "Applejack, Rarity, will you help me with evacuating everypony in the empire to a safer location?" Cadence asks them. "We don't want another repeat of the Sombra incident." "You know the answer to that!" Applejack shouts with pride. "Come on Rarity, let's round everypony up!" "Hm, as you wish, my dear." Rarity says, walking down the hallway. "Come now, we mustn't waste any time." "Fluttershy, can you come with me to help Rainbow Dash?" Shining Armor asks her. "She will need someone she knows best to be there for her when she wakes up." "Ok." Fluttershy says, shifting her attention to me and Twilight. "Oh, and be careful you two." "We will." Twilight and I say in sync. My ghost then shouts: "Alright everyone, let's move!" He disappears, Applejack and Rarity rush down the hallway along with Shining Armor, Fluttershy, and a trailing Rainbow Dash, and Twilight teleports me and her to the ground, where we then start rushing towards the storm as fast as we can. We make it to the edge of the empire, but the storm clouds don't look to be any better then when seen from afar. Red lights could be seen from the valley ahead, they also look very familiar as well. I pull out my Devil's Dawn sniper rifle, and I scope in to see what the lights were all about. As soon as I get a good visual, the barrage of lights turn purple, and from the lights, looks to be Shanks covered with purple crystals, Dregs with two crystals poking out from where their second set of arms would be, then Vandals with purple crystals protruding from their backs, then Captains with a purple crystals protruding from foreheads, then Servitors with tiny crystals growing from their surfaces. "How did the fallen get here?" My ghost asks frightenedly. "They aren't suppose to be here!" I take out my knife, and I stab a Stealth Vandal that tries to come up from behind me. It's cloaking device malfunctions as it falls to the ground, dead. Twilight flinches, asking: "What was that???" I reply with: "That was a Vandal, a type of fallen trooper. Looks as though they carried over to this world, too." "But how?" She asks. "Did they come through the same way you did?" "Probably." I reply. "There's more where that came from." Putting my sniper rifle away, I pull out my Hawkmoon, telling Twilight: "Duck!" She quickly moves out of the way of an incoming Stealth Vandal's attack, it's cloaking system deactivating with a loud sizzle. This gives me the chance to pop a round into it's head. The soul escapes from it's body, and the corpse falls to the ground. The storm gets closer, and so does the mass of purple lights that have just appeared. We look over to the lights, seeing something completely out of the ordinary. Out of the massive purple glow, there were two sets of green lights. I pull my sniper rifle back out and scope in to take a look at what the source is. I quickly unscope when the green glow disappears. "Uh... you saw that too, right?" Twilight asks. I nod, looking away from the purple light show. I notice a gigantic black mass stand over Twilight, so I start to back up. "Is something wrong?" She asks nervously. I lift my Hawkmoon to aim at the ominous green eyes that are looking down at her. Twilight quickly notices what I was looking at, and slowly looks behind her. "Hello there, my subjects." King Sombra says. [To be continued] //-------------------------------------------------------// Ep.2: A Dark Crystal Pt.2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note After a long time, part 2 is finally done! I apologize greatly for the long wait, but I just haven't had the courage or the will to work on it. So the end of this chapter may be a little bit forced. I'll most likely be taking a break from writing til I get some motivation to continue. Episode 3 will come eventually, just not anytime soon. I also apologize if some characters don't sound like themselves or if some scenes are awkward, especially the fighting scenes. Writing battle scenes is somewhat of a challenge to me, so again, I do apologize if they seem short or awkward. Disclaimer: I'm not an experienced writer, so everything I make won't be perfect, and there may be a few errors here and there. With that said, enjoy part 2 everyone! Ep.2: A Dark Crystal Pt.2 "Hello my subjects." King Sombra says, looking up from Twilight to me. Twilight quickly teleports to my side, surrounding us with a bubble shield made from her magic. "Your attempts to block me out will falter." Sombra says. "With my new army at my side, we will trample all who stand against us!" "I've dealt with creatures that sound a whole lot like you, Sombra." I say to spite how intimidating he's trying to sound. "There's Crota, Skolas, Oryx, Aksis, and-" "SILENCE!" Sombra shouts in anger, walking towards the empire. "Deal with these pests!" Some of The Fallen draw their attention towards me and Twilight, attempting to shoot her shield down. "Twilight, get ready to take the barrier down on my mark!" I shout, putting my Hawkmoon away. Twilight looks at me with a shocked expression on her face. "But why?!?" "Trust me." I reply, pulling out my knife. "I got a trick up my sleeve." As soon as she brings down her barrier, my knife charges with arc energy. I lunge towards a couple nearby dregs, swinging my blade onto their chests, and they vaporize in pure arc energy. The Fallen draw their attention to me, giving Twilight an open window to launch into the air and shoot a magic beam at a servitor, blowing it up instantly. The rest of The Fallen split their attention towards me and Twilight, but that didn't matter in the end. What felt like a minute passed and all The Fallen that Sombra flooded us with are taken out. My knife loses its electric charge, letting off a small spark, so I put it away and pull out my Hawkmoon in it's place. "We need to get back to the empire." Twilight says. "Sombra's attempting this a second time, so he's going to fail a second time." "Right." I reply. "Be careful." We rush back into the empire in search of Sombra, hoping that he didn't get to Applejack and Rarity while we were distracted. As we were closing in on the crystal heart, I pick off a few dregs and vandals from the rooftops of some these buildings with my Hawkmoon. The crystal heart is in view, as well as some of the royal guard fighting off incoming Fallen. As Twilight flies in to assist them, I stand back to pull my sniper rifle out and pick off some vandals that are too close for comfort to the guards. We defend the heart for what feels like a couple minutes, so we regroup and discuss what's going down. "All the citizens have been evacuated." One of the guards says. "As for Applejack and Rarity, we don't know where they went." "We did see a giant black cloud moving around the empire, however." Another guard says. "It looked as though to have been chasing somepony." "Do you think he could have been chasing your friends?" I ask Twilight. "Wasn't he suppose to come after the heart?" "This wasn't his first time trying to steal the heart." Twilight replies. "He knows our tricks, and he won't fall for them a second time." "He may be aware of your tricks." I reply, pulling out my Hunger of Crota rocket launcher and taking aim at Sombra in his black cloud. "He's not aware of mine though." I take aim at the cloud, locking on to it, then fire away. The rocket speeds off into the cloud, blowing up as soon as it makes contact with Sombra. From where I'm standing, I think I can see Sombra falling out of the cloud as it dissipates from the cluster bombs. "Bingo!" I shout as a reaction. "Let's move, quick!" I put my Hunger of Crota away, and I follow Twilight toward where Sombra fell. Midway through our trek towards the crash site, Twilight said she had to go check on something, and she went flying off in another direction, separate from the path. I proceed the rest of the way to where Sombra fell, only to find that there isn't anything at the crash site. "Isn't this where he was suppose to be?" I ask myself. "Could have sworn I thought he tumbled here." "Maybe he took off on our way here." My ghost replies, noticing a strange looking print in the ground. "Hold on, I'll see if I can track him." As he goes to scan the print, I take a look up and down the street we're on. "Why am I getting a strange vibe from this?" I think to myself. "I don't know why, but I have a feeling something big is coming." My ghost stops scanning when the ground suddenly starts to shake. "This tremor isn't natural." My ghost states. "Something big is inbound!" As my ghost disappears, as I notice a big shadow wash over me, and I look to where the shadow's coming from, noticing the massive creature looking back down at me. "What the- an ARCHON???" My ghost shouts in disbelief. "This explains all the Fallen in this world!" This Archon isn't like all the other Archons back in the Cosmodrome. This one has four legs, four arms, and dark crystals completely enveloping it, as well as massive ones protruding from its forehead and spine. The Archon raises its leg, kicking me across the street, but I keep my balance and slide across it instead, stopping in the middle of the street, looking back towards it with my Hawkmoon in hand. The Archon then screams at me in Sombra's voice: "You cannot defeat me, Guardian, for this world's power is mine to control!" I pull my Devil's Dawn out, taking aim and replying to the Archon: "The only power you're going to be controlling is your ether coming out of your body!" The Archon quickly forms a crystal shield around his left arm as I fire at his head. It flinches as the bullet ricochets off it's head, taking a few steps back. "I have taken control of this being's power!" The Archon shouts, forming a crystal shrapnel rifle in it's right arm "And soon I will take control of your light!" He fires at me, the projectiles from the rifle covering a massive surface area in front of me. I quickly take action by jumping above the blast, pulling out my rocket launcher and firing in his general direction. The rocket makes a direct hit, and it's cluster bombs scatter all over his body, detonating in smaller explosions. The Archon roars in rage and agony as it's four eyes start to glow green. The Archon teleports in front of me, kicking me with one of it's front legs into a building. As I impact the building, I grunt in pain and fall to the ground, dropping my weapon. The Archon slowly walks over to me, saying: "You are foolish to mess with Sombrosia, the new leader of the reborn House of Stone!" "He's not serious, is he?" My ghost asks me nervously. Out of nowhere, a magic beam strikes him in his chest, making him step away from me. Twilight lands right next to me, casting a magic shield around us. Sombrosia regains his balance, and takes aim at us with his shrapnel rifle. "Your attempts to vanquish me are futile!" He shouts triumphantly. "It is physically impossible for me to go down by the likes of you-" He explodes in front of us, the blast shaking the earth below our legs. All me and Twilight see for the time being is smoke. As soon as the smoke dissipates, Twilight brings down her shield, and in front of us is a black cloud, the same as the one I shot at with my rocket launcher. Two green lights can be seen from within the cloud, shining directly at us. "This isn't the end." The cloud says in Sombra's voice. "I will return stronger!" The cloud disintegrates, leaving behind a yellow engram. Twilight looks to engram, then to me, asking: "Are you ok, are you hurt???" "I'm fine, I've had worse fights." I reply, walking towards the engram. "The real question is: What's in here?" I pick up the engram, Twilight looking at it curiously. "What is that?" She asks. I reply with: "It's an engram, it usually contains some form of weapon or armor piece when decrypted." "Are you able to decrypt it?" Twilight asks curiously. "Oh I wish I had some paper right now!" "Yea, I can decrypt it." I say. "I spent some time back home learning from the cryptarchs on how I can decrypt these bad boys on the go." I proceed to decrypt the engram, and as soon as I break the encryption, it transforms into an auto rifle. This auto rifle wasn't like anything I've ever gotten or seen. It's got tiny purple crystals protruding from the barrel, and a layer of crystal covering the tank where you can see it's ammo. I could easily tell this was suppose to be an Omolon foundry auto rifle. "Oh my, I've never seen anything like it." My ghost comments. "I'll take a look at it later." "Never seen anything like this before." I say. "I wonder what I should call it?" "Shattered Pride, maybe?" Twilight blurts out. "I feel it should be called that, I don'€t know why." "Alright, Shattered Pride it is then!" I shout proudly. "Good thinking, Twilight!" "Oh, it's nothing." She replies. I put the Shattered Pride auto rifle away, and look around at the scenery around us. "Yo Twilight, I have a question to ask." I say curiously. "How do we get home by chance?"
