Edit: Fixed some errors that came up in the process of uploading the chapter. Again, it's not a good chapter, I tried to implement more story and reasons behind the characters actions then just "because." I have a better idea for the next one, so stick around. Friday Night
And just like that, you find yourself waiting in the living room for the two mares to collect all their stuff. A small smile spreads across your face at the thought of all that has transpired so far. What you figured was going to be the worst weekend of your life, quickly turned into the best moment of all time. The giggles coming from the kitchen not only scare you a bit, but also make you more excited for what the rest of this weekend will bring.
“Now are you sure you have some cheese puffs at your place dear? I'm sure we could stop on our way to pick some up.” You heard Twilight’s mom say as they both walk into the room. The older mare looked really good for her age. Honestly aside from the total 'mom' demeanour she gave off, you would have mistaken her for Twilight's sister.
“I'm sure. I do live in a castle mom, I always make sure the kitchen is kept stocked.” Then, there is your marefriend. The purple pony princess that you fell in love with. If not with her eyes, her brains, or her utter adorableness. It was definitely that sweet flank. Shaking the thought from your head, the two mares glance at you before Velvet suddenly lets out a gasp.
“Oh! Hold on a second! I forgot to grab that wine I got for mother's day last year.” With that, she bounds back into the kitchen. Twilight gives a small smile while rolling her eyes before following her mother. Silly ponies. You smirk to yourself, but that is immediately wiped clean when the door is violently thrown open.
“Hey woman! I'm -hic- I'm home!” A scowl flashes across your face, but you're quick to discard it. Honestly this scum of Equus is not worth the trouble. The dark blue stallion staggers into the living room, reeking of liquor and cheap perfume. Night Light looks at you, his eyes glossy and unfocused. Once he realizes it's you, the ape man, he glares hard before muttering to himself. You can't help but narrow your eyes back at him as he walks towards the kitchen, thinking of every way you'd enjoy kicking his ass.
The stallion stops in the archway of the kitchen, you can hear a bowl drop to the floor and shatter. “And just where... -hic- Where do you think yer goin?” Night light slurs hard, swaying slightly in the archway. Twilight seems a bit taken back, but holds her head high and takes a few steps towards her father.
Clearing her throat, your marefriend looks the stallion dead in the eye. “If you must know dad, the three of us are going back to my castle for a movie night. So if you'll just move out of the way-” She trail off as Night steps by her, making his way across the room to Velvet. Twilight is aghast, her father didn’t even glance at her as he walked past.
“I didn't ask you Twi, now leave. Us adults need to have a lil, talk.” His voice is gruff and sharp, making Twilight herself slink away from the drunk pony. As he stops a couple of steps from his wife, she cowers under his gaze and backs into the wall. “Yer not goin anywhere tonight. Yer gonna stay right here, whether you like it or not.” Velvet is visibly shaking now, her eyes wide in fear as the blue stallion sways in front of her.
“N-Night Light you're drunk!” She takes a couple of sniffs and blushes in shame. “And you smell like a mare in h-heat!” Tears well up in the corners of her eyes and she wipes her right cheek with a hoof. “D-did you... Did you cheat on me? With one of those... Floozies down at the bar?!” The poor mare is almost in tears. Twilight once again takes a step to get between the two, but another hard glare and a lazily swung hoof keeps her at bay.
With his attention turned back to his wife, he can't see the look of anger on your face. “An so what if I did huh? Least they know how to please a stallion, woman!” His words pierce poor Velvets heart and she starts to cry. Her furry cheeks becoming matted as she desperately tries to look away from him. Smack! The sound echoes throughout the room, Velvet recoils, holding her now red cheek. While Night stumbles a bit from the sudden motion carried out by his hoof. “Now stop bein a little bitch and clean up this Faust-damned mess. Then get yer ass upstairs, before I do it again.” Twilight grits her teeth in anger, her wings spread wide as she debates charging at her own father.
The white mare whimpers a bit before gaining her voice again. “You pig! I've done everything for you! I gave you all the love in my heart, I gave you two wonderful children. I took care of the house, I made your meals.” She's practically sobbing now, only further hurting your heart. “And this is how you repay me? I loved you!” You can’t sit still any longer, hands clenched in anger you make your decision on what to do.
With Twilight ready to pounce, you get to your feet, cutting off her chance. Her eyes follow you as you make your way over to him. “Twilight, take that beast and get the hell out of my house, and never bring him back here again.” Your vision turns red as you get closer and closer. Velvet cowers in the corner, covering her face as his hoof rises once more. “I thought I told you to-!” He is cut off as your hand grabs his hoof tightly. He lightly tries to wiggle out of your grasp. But your grip is tight, strong and unmoving.
For the first time, you speak to him. “Hey, Night Light.” Letting go of his hoof, the drunk stallion starts to turn with a snarl on his face. With a look that could kill, you reel back and take a breath. “Lights out.” Giving it all you got, you hit the poor excuse for a stallion right in the side of the jaw. The punch sends him reeling into the kitchen table, which promptly breaks into countless pieces. A single string of blood flicks through the air and splatters against the wall.
A eerie silence starts as both mares look from you, to the downed stallion. Your hand throbs painfully, ponies have a pretty hard bone structure as you just found out. Ignoring the pain you bend down to Velvet and cup her cheek. She is apprehensive at first, but soon breaks down again and bawls into your shoulder. With a gentle grasp, you pick her up and turn back to where the blue pony now lays.
He's unmoving. Aside from short breaths as he lays in a crumpled heap on top of the broken table. “Let’s go Twilight.” You say coldly, your marefriend gathers the bag of goodies they had collected before heading out the door. The cold winter air outside nips your skin, immediately reminding you that you and Twilight had teleported here.
Velvet has stopped crying, now opting to nuzzle into your shoulder while her hooves gently grip your shirt. “Right... Let's just get home. Now, hold still please.” She says softly while her horn lights up brightly. With a quick burst of magic and a blinding light the coldness of winter is brushed off as the warmth of her castle surrounds you.
Now that you're back in the castle; in the map room to be exact; you can finally let out the breath you've been holding. Twilight seems a bit unnerved by what happened as she heads out of the room. “I'll get the rest of the things, I'll meet you two in the entertainment room in a bit.” Purple hooves clack on the marble floor, soon she turns the corner and is out of sight.
With Velvet still in your arms, you waste no time and soon head in the opposite direction. Living in the castle as long as you have, you know exactly where every room, bathroom and closet are in the entire building. It takes a short walk to arrive in, what is extensively a tiny movie theatre. There are a few rows of couches, each “spot” has a raise-able platform in front of them to hold snacks and such. A small bathroom is located across the room from where you came in. Lights dot the walls around the room, and a large projector screen is on the far back wall. You place Velvet down onto the first couch, excusing yourself to the bathroom.
Half closing the door behind you, you bring your hand up to examine it. Wincing in pain, it's just as you expected. The skin on two of your knuckles have split, blood trickling down your fingers to drip into the white porcelain sink. Clenching your teeth in pain, you turn the water on and start to wash the blood off. It stings badly, but it's better then Twilight seeing it and getting worried over nothing.
The water washes off the blood, mixing a deep red before turning a light pink. It doesn't take long till it's clean, letting you get a good look at the gashes. Twilight's going to kill me for this... They don't look like you'll need medical attention. But there's no way you can go back out there without Twilight not noticing a big bandage on your hand. Opening the medicine cabinet above the sink, you rummage around to find something to help.
“Are you ok?” The quiet voice startles you, making you jump slightly. Knocking over a few bottles into the sink. Looking down, you notice Velvet standing in the doorway. “Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.” Her large eyes focus on your face, before trailing down to your hand. A concerned frown comes across her muzzle as she sees that a little blood has leaked out since you've cleaned it.
Putting your hand back under the warm water, you try and catch your breath. “It's fine Velvet, it's just-” She cuts you off by grabbing you by the wrist with her magic. A light purple aura surrounds her horn and your wrist lightly, pulling your hand towards her face. Her blue eyes narrowed, inspecting your knuckles closely.
Letting out a small sigh, Velvet's horn flared a bit more as a first aid kit lifted up from the floor and onto the counter. “Let me help you dear.” You relax as she finally lets go of you, your hand resting on the counter now as she digs inside the metal box. “It doesn’t look too bad, but we're going to need... These.” Pulling out a small package, the unicorn opens it and empties the content's onto the counter. Velvet takes a few of what looks like medial strips, apart in her magic and lays them over the wounds.
Taking in a breath with clenched teeth, you try hard to not move your hand. As suddenly as they moved, she stops. Looking down, you see that she worked quickly and is actually done. A few small strips pull the edges of the split skin together. “Now, hold still for me.” Velvet say's quietly before leaning down with a glowing horn. A small spark falls from her horn onto your knuckles, a sharp burning sensation flares up then dissipates as quickly as it came.
The white mare places a small kiss onto the back of your hand before looking up into your eyes. Squeezing your hand a few times, you give her a small smile. “Thanks, honestly Twilight would have killed me if she knew I got myself hurt again.” Velvet lets out a small chuckle before nuzzling into your chest. Her muzzle tickles a bit, your hand moves to her ear and gives it a few scritches.
The door to the room suddenly shoots open and Twilight trots inside. Humming happily to herself, she brings in the rest of the snacks. Placing them down, her eyes dart up to the bathroom seeing you both inside it. “Umm, what's going on...” Her eyes land on the open first aid kit before going wide. “Anon! What happened?!” Darting across the room, the alicorn almost rips your arm out of it’s socket while looking at your hand.
Letting out a grunt of annoyance, you try and pull out of her grasp. “Twilight calm down, it was just a busted knuckle. I've done worse falling down and scraping my knees.” Giving one last pull, you barely manage to get out of her magical hold.
You can see the look of frustration on her face, steam almost pouring out from her ears. “You could have seriously hurt yourself, and you didn't feel the need to tell me?!” Twilight's purple eyes narrow in anger, a few tears welling up in their corners. “Do you ever think Anonymous?!” That stings worse than your hand, she never uses your full name anymore. As soon as the words are out of her mouth, she quickly shuts it. Flaying her ears to her head, Twilight looks at the floor before whimpering. “I'm sorry... You didn't deserve that Anon.”
Tears well up in the corners of her eyes. The poor mare has so much on her shoulders right now that you can’t help but forgive her. You then reach down and stroke her cheek with your good hand. “It's ok Twilight, it's been a crazy day.” You pick up your little adorable princess horse and cradle her in your arms. “But now it's time for some movies and snuggles.” Wasting no time, the three of you make your way back to the front of the room.
Various snacks and sodas are piled on the small table. You take a seat right in the middle, placing Twilight down next to you and are immediately snuggled by her. “Alright, so I have a new movie to watch tonight.” With a cute smile, the pony pulls a film reel out of a small box. “Aaaaannnnnd. I may have gotten a early preview copy of the Daring Do: And the Eternal Flower.”
If you tried to measure how much this little pony adored Daring Do, you would put her somewhere between mega fan and obsessive. Now that you think about it, the only other pony that is more crazy about this series is Rainbow Dash. The sound of a projector being turned on breaks your thoughts and you noticed the lights are dimmed.
As Twilight fiddles with the projector, the older mare beside you pours herself a cup of cherry soda. She looks much better then she did this morning that's for sure, you can't imagine how she felt; or even how she feels. A small smile crosses your lips as you gently wrap your arm around her back. Not even flinching Velvet shifts a little closer and leans against your shoulder.
“There we go!” Your marefriend finally flicks the switch on the side of the projector before making her way back to the couch. The lights turn off as a old style countdown appears on the screen. She quickly hopped back up beside while levitating a bowl of popcorn in front of you. Tossing a few bits into her mouth she chewed quietly while the movie started.
On an airship somewhere over Shanghay... Ponies moved to and fro, scurrying to make sure everything would be ready for landing. A large stallion in a white uniform watched from the bridge with a glass of dark gold liquid. “Cadet, inform our... special guest that her stop is arriving soon.” A much smaller, lankier colt gave a quick salute before taking off.
The young colt galloped across the deck, dodging moving ponies and freight. Panting hard as his hooves moved as fast as they could carry him. Down a few flights of stairs the young colt arrived at the door to her room. Taking a moment to catch his breath, he raised his hoof to knock on the door. A few seconds of silence before the door creaked open allowing him to see inside.
Sitting at the lone desk in the room sat a pegasus mare. Her light gold coat was half covered with an olive drab outfit. Tussling her mane a bit, a single rose coloured eye glanced at the cowering colt in the doorway. “Yes?”
Gulping the cadet gave a quick salute. “M-Miss Do! Message from the Captain! He says your stop is arriving.” With a large grin, the mare gently picked up a wide brimmed hat from the table and set it atop her dark rainbow mane.
You’re surprised, usually movies are far inferior to their book counterparts. But the music, the acting, the shots. It’s a very well rendition of the intro. Almost how you imagined it after being forced to read the book by both Twilight and a very adamant Rainbow Dash. Beside you, both mares have settled for placing the bowl in between your legs while laying across your thighs. Now they no longer needed their magic to grab the popcorn, instead they could just lean down and nibble pieces out of the bowl. A welcomed smile came over your face as the two ponies happily munched on the popcorn. Your hands found homes on their backs, gently rubbing as the movie continued.
Daring Do found herself just outside of the city, battered and bruised as she limped further into the woods. “Damn... Honestly how come I keep running into this guy?!” She hissed to herself before ducking inside a hollowed out tree. The mare waited as the stallions chasing her galloped past with shouts and hollers. Gritting her teeth, Daring Do pushed her right forehoof against the side wall of the tree and pushed. A popping sound came from her leg as it was pushed back into place.
She tried to stifle her groan, biting her lip as she rubbed her leg. “At least I still got it...” Carefully removing her hat, it revealed the beautiful Eternal Flower in all its glory. As her eyes sparkled slightly a loud noise outside made them shrink suddenly.
Quickly returning the flower under her hat, Daring Do peeked out of the small hole she crawled in through. “She couldn't have gotten far! Search every inch of this forest, tear it apart if you have to!” Gritting her teeth as she heard Ahuizotl bark orders to his goons.
“Rats, and I was hoping for a break...” For only a few moments the Pegasus scanned her surroundings, trying to find something to help her escape the corner she was backed into. Unluckily for her, the forest she ducked into was dense, leaving no room for a flighted escape. With the half dozen henchmen zeroing in on her hiding spot, Daring Do had no choice but to move.
With a quick burst of speed, the tan mare zipped straight towards the closest stallion. With a smug grin, she galloped full tilt towards him, only to give a short hop just before they would have collided. With a swipe from a wing, a smack to the face and the stallion hit the dirt before he knew what happened. “There she is! Capture her!” The sound of Ahuizotl's voice barely registering to the mare as her heart pounded.
With a small flip she landed rear hoof down onto another one's head, pushing him down onto the ground before jumping towards the next one. But Daring Do never made it, a sharp blow to her side sent the brown pegasus sprawling to the grass. Hissing in pain, she barely managed to roll to her hooves to face the villain. Ahuizotl hunched over, body tensed and ready to pounce. “I've let you prance around for far too long Daring Do. You've always messed up my plans, months of effort going to waste because of you. I think it's high time I get rid of you... For good!”
Using her right wing, Daring Do wiped the sweat from her brow. “I'd like to see you try.” She gave a cocky grin while taking a small step back. There's no way I'd win against him like this... I'm too tired. I need to find a way out. Her eyes darted to and fro, scanning her surroundings as her ears flicked in search of noise. Suddenly, with a roar, Ahuizotl charged. His gleaming white teeth were on full display, sharp as knives ready to close in on the mare.
But Daring Do was ready. With her quick thinking and even faster movement, she shot to the right where a large branch laid. Narrowly dodging a swipe that would have knocked her back down, the mare spun the large branch with a hard push of her forehooves. The branch spun quickly, connecting with Ahuizotl's hindpaws. He have a short yelp of pain before getting knocked down, trying to scramble to get back up. But the pegasus was already gone, galloping through the trees in search of some open air. Another roar of anger came from behind her, but Daring Do ignored it and kept running as fast as she could….
“Anon?” A quiet voice snaps your lazy attention from the movie. You stifle a yawn before blinking to clear your vision. You notice that the movie seems to be winding down. Your sleeping marefriend is curled up against your leg. Her head resting on top of your thigh while a bit of drool runs down her cheek.
Turning your attention to Velvet, you tilt your head to the side a bit before she continues. “Listen, I just wanted to say thank you.” The mare takes a deep breath, a small frown comes over her face. “The stallion I fell in love with, seems to no longer be inside Night.” Her light blue eyes moved to her now sleeping daughter.
“I'm glad Twilight has found herself a stallion with a heart a big as yours. I know you'll bring her a lifetime of happiness. Unconditional love that she will never forget.” You can't help but give a small smile before gently rubbing her left cheek with a thumb.
She gently nuzzles your hand, murmuring quietly. “I do it because she makes me feel like the luckiest guy on the planet. She could have literally any being she wanted in this world. Princes, kings, nobles. From the Griffin Kingdom, all the way to the Badlands.” A small smile crosses your lips. “But she saw something in me. Something that she didn't want to slip away.”
A glance up at the clock shows it's quarter to two in the morning. “Wow. I didn't realize it was this late. We should probably get some sleep.” Gently picking up the sleeping Alicorn, you turn off the projector and make your way to the door. Velvet hops off down and stretches, a few pops coming from her back as she follows behind you.
Turning right down the hallway, you set out for the bedroom. It doesn't take long to make it to the wing containing the sleeping quarters. There’s a dozen or so rooms, probably for guests. But as long as you’ve lived here they’ve been empty. “So, which room is the guest room?” You hear Velvet ask as you open the door with a large purple star on it. You do nothing but motion for her to enter.
She glances up, almost about to object. But with another yawn, she trots into the room without a word. As you step into the room, a chill runs down your spine. Glancing behind you, the window across the hall shows the beautiful nighttime sky. Thousands of stars dot the black sky, twinkling playfully as the full moon sits high in the air shining brightly. In the distance, Canterlot sits atop its mountain as if looming over the landscape.
A few seconds pass before you shrug it off and head for bed. Velvet is already in, eyeing you sleepily. Closing the door with your foot, you try and shake the feeling that came over you. Perhaps in the morning you’ll feel better. Turning out the light, you place Twilight in the bed and crawl in behind her. Holding her close, your eyes close and you quickly fall into a deep sleep.
