When weird things start to happen at CHS (and none of them good), Sunset Shimmer tries to find out why. Her investigation leads her to stumble upon the Assassins. A group dedicated to safe guarding mankind's free will, and bring peace to the world. Fighting against the Assassins are the Templars. They seek to destroy free will, in order control the world, bringing peace to it. From the Assassins, Sunset makes a shocking discovery: CHS has become a battlefield for this war for free will.

Now Sunset is one of them. She cheats, lies, steals, and kills in order to protect the free will of everyone, all behind her friend's backs. As her world unfolds around her, Sunset makes a painful realization; that she must make a choice. a choice that will forever impact how she views her life.
