The New Adventures

Just inside the town of Ponyville sat a small castle, at this time of year blanketed with snow. The residents of the entire town were beginning to stir from their slumber this morning. The castle, however, was already very lively. The front door to the castle was flung open, and a young, dark blue Alicorn filly leapt into the crisp outside air, her silver mane flying wildly, only to stop abruptly as she was grabbed in a magic hold. The young Alicorn blinked in surprise, twisting in midair to face back into the castle.

"Come on mom!" The filly whined as she was pulled back into the castle by a larger purple Alicorn. The larger Alicorn plopped the smaller one down at a dining table, next to a golden Pegasus with a sapphire mane and an Alicorn filly who looked almost exactly like the first one. The major differences, were that the second filly's mane was styled in a ponytail, she also bore a pair of glasses on her face, and, unlike the first filly, whose flank was completely bare, her flank bore an image of a quill writting in a book.

"Where do you think you're off to in such a hurry?" The purple Alicorn asked the first filly.

"To see my friends of course!" The filly, known as Silver Heart, exclaimed. Her sister, Tome Weaver, snorted.

"Looking like that sister?"

"Huh?" Silver asked. Their mother, Princess Twilight Sparkle, levitated a small mirror in front of Silver. "Oh." She blushed. Her hair was in a complete dissaray from having just woken up. Twilight began to use her magic to braid Silver's hair. Silver rolled her eyes. She looked at the Pegasus, who was readin a newspaper. "Anything good daddy?" Flash Sentry smiled at his daughter's inquisitiveness.

"Actually, now that you ask, there was an arrest in the Canterlot government."

"Really?" Twilight asked as she focused on Silver's hair.

"Yeah, apparently Judge Rose Scroll was taking bribes."

"Wow, I knew there was a reason I didn't like that mare." Twilight shook her head. "Your hair's done sweetie."

"All right!" The little filly leapt off the chair, only for Twilight to catch her again and plop her back on the chair. She levitated a plate of pancakes in front of the filly.

"Breakfast." Twilight said, serving everyone pancakes. Silver huffed, levitating a fork to start eating.

"Mother? Where's Spike?" Tome asked.

"Spike? Oh, he's helping Rarity out. Why do you ask?"

"I wanted to send this to the publisher." She waved a book transcript.

"You'll get a chance sweetie, don't worry."

"Done!" Silver slapped her fork down on her now empty plate.

"Brush your teeth."

"Aww come on!"

"Silver!" The Alicorn filly huffed, jumping off her seat and sauntering towards the bathroom. A few minutes later, she came back out, now with a purple scarf tied around her neck and a pair of saddlebags on her back.

"K! I'm heading out!"

"Be back before dark." Flash called. Silver trotted out the front door, and into the snow coated town of Ponyville. She took a deep breath, and bolted out towards the edge of town.

"Where is she?" A black Unicorn filly huffed. Her flank bore an image of a shuriken.

"You know what Princess Twilight is like. Silver probably got held up with breakfast or something." A gray Earth Pony stated. She wore a ruby studded tiara, and her flank bore an image of a similar looking tiara. The black Unicorn, Ninja Whisp, huffed in annoyance. Her companion, Rose Quartz, daughter of Diamond Tiara, rolled her eyes. "Come on Whisp, she always shows up sooner or later."

"Hey girls!" Silver called as she trotted up.

"Told you." Silver skidded to a halt, kicking up a cloud of snow.

"So, what are we doing today?"

"Well, I was thinking of going bowling." Rose suggested.

"I wanted to go play hoofball." Whisp countered.

"...Ice skating it is then." She used her magic to levitate three sets of ice skates out of her bag. "Come on!" She dragged them over to the nearby pond, which at this time of year was frozen solid. With that done, she plopped onto the snowy ground and started to put the skates on her hooves. When she was done, she hopped onto the ice with ease while Rose struggled to put her skates on, and Whisp ignored the skates altogether in favor of sliding across the ice on her stomach. Silver, instead of skating in the conventional way, used a trick Ms. Scootaloo taught her, using her wings to propel her forward, and just turning her hooves as necessary. Rose had finally gotten her skates on, and proceeded to glide across the ice with ease. Silver angled her wings so that she lifted off the ground shortly, before touching back down on the ice in a spin. Unfortunately, she was so engrossed in her skating that she crashed right into a snow bank. The resulting crash caused a tree right above the bank to drop even more snow on her. Rose and Whisp skated up to her.

"Are you okay Silver?" Rose called. Silver poked her head out of the snow, her eyes completely unfocused.

"Did I get my Cutie Mark?" She asked in a daze. Whisp brushed away snow to see her flank.

"Mmmm, nope, still as blank as the day we met you."

"Aww come on!" The three fillies looked up at the sound of laughter. On an adjacent bank was a silver Earth Pony filly. Silver Dollar, Silver Spoon's daughter, whose Cutie Mark was a silver dollar. Alongside her stood her best friend, a sapphire Unicorn filly originally from Canterlot, Sapphire Rose, whose Cutie Mark was a sapphire colored rose.

"Well of course Princess Blank Flank hasn't gotten her Cutie Mark!" Silver Dollar laughed. Silver Heart rolled her eyes.

"Oh look, it's little miss prissy-pants." Dollar stopped laughing.

"Well! You'd think Princess Brat would have much better manners towards a high ranking member of the community-"

"Rose is rich too, and you don't see her acting like a spoiled little- Mom will kill me for saying this- Bitch." Dollar gasped.

"What horrid language to be used by a princess! Then again, with that nutcase of a mother, I can't exactly-" Silver was in her face.

"Make fun of me all you want, but do NOT bring my mom into this brat!" Silver hissed. Dollar just smirked.

"Aww, is Princess Blank Flank ashamed of her mommy-" In that moment, Silver swiped her hoof across Dollar's face. The problem? Silver, in her anger, had completely forgotten she was wearing ice skates.

"...Oh..." She looked at the skate on her hoof, to the bleeding cut on the stunned filly's cheek.

"...MOMMY!!!!" Dollar screamed, bursting into tears and running the other direction.

"...Hey Sapphire." Silver said meekly. Sapphire silently waved, before trotting after Dollar. Silver sighed. "You guys wanna go get a cupcake or something?"

Barely a few minutes later they were all at Sugarcube Corner with cupcakes and hot cocoa. Silver sighed. "My mom's gonna kill me."

"Hey, it was an accident." Whisp responded. "Your mom's understanding. I mean, remember that time you blew up Rainbow Dash's house?"

"Yeah, that's why I'm not allowed to have tree sap anymore."

"I'm really glad I was sick that day." Rose said. Silver levitated her cup.

"Pinkie, more hot chocolate! ....Pinkie?" She lifted her head. "Pinkie!"

"Oopsie! Sorry kiddo!" The pink Earth Pony bounced away from the window. "I was just waving to Twilight! Hold on a sec!" She opened the door and poked her head out. "Hey Twilight! I'm about to get little Silver more hot chocolate!" Barely a few seconds later, Twilight teleported into the room, grabbed Silver, and teleported them both away. "Aww, no hot chocolate then?" Pinkie asked.

"I'll take it!" Whisp said.

"You know I'm sick of you getting into fights all the time!" Twilight scolded. Silver had her head down. "I mean, I can forgive cutting her as an accident considering how forgetful you are, but the fact remains that you shouldn't have been trying to hit Silver Dollar in the first place!" She stopped for a moment, and huffed. "Silver, look at me." The young Alicorn looked up, her eyes brimming with tears as her mother scolded her. "Why were you trying to hit Silver Dollar?"

"She was insulting you!" Silver croaked. "She called you a nutcase, and...." Twilight sighed, shaking her head.

"You're grounded. A week."

"Mom?"

"If you behave yourself I might lift your grounding early." Twilight closed her eyes. "Sweetheart, I know you want to defend me, but I've been through things you wouldn't believe. I can handle myself." Twilight handed Silver a cupcake. Red Velvet, Silver's favorite. "You can have more if you behave yourself, which shouldn't be too hard, cause you're not leaving this castle until your grounding is lifted." Twilight turned, making to leave the room.

"Mom?"

"Yes honey?"

"I love you." Twilight smiled.

"Love you too sweetheart." With that she left, and Silver plopped herself down onto a chair with a sigh.

This was just another normal day for her.
