The Dismantler

Previous Chapter

The Canterlot Library; a large place of knowledge and peace. A place where one seeking knowledge had next to an unlimited access. Inside the library many people either sat and read a book; or walked around trying to find one. Inside the library sat many resting areas. In one of them a group of seven females sat and chatted. Each of them sporting their own unique styles of clothing and hair style. One of them got up from their chair and slammed their fists into the table. She was a teenager that had rainbow hued hair; and she wore looked like sport clothing. She had a look of anger etched onto her face.

“He did what?!” She shouted only to be shushed by multiple people around them.

Some of her friends had look of annoyance as she sat back down. One of them who looked like the purple mage; brought her phone. She then pulled up a blog on her phone; which had a news feed from the game. She scrolled down the blog till she was about halfway.

“As I said,” She began as their attention shifted towards her, “Dragonheart55 dismantled the new legendary weapon.” She continued to read as one of her friends groaned in annoyance.

Her friend- one that wore southern style clothing and a light brown Stetson. She also had light blonde hair.-looked towards as one of her fists balled in slight irritation, “Me or rainbow could have used that sword,” She complained as she reached into her back pocket. Pulling out what looked like a deck holder. She opened the top and pull out a single card; which looked like the knight from the game, “My knight,” She then looked towards her rainbow haired friend, “Or you Valkyrie could have used its attack boost and its poison effect.” She finished.

“I know Applejack,” The rainbow haired one replied in a voice full of annoyance, “It even had a a poison bonus for every critical hit,” She continued while pulling out a deck holder of her own. She then opened the holder and pulled out a single card. On the card was an image of the armor that her Valkyrie wore, “And with my armor's lucky strike bonus; I could have landed multiple critical hits and poison attacks.” She finished trying her best to keep her voice down.

One of the other teenagers- one had light pink hair which covered half of her face- looked over towards the one who was originally talking, “Is there anymore information on him Twilight?” She asked.

The teenager known as Twilight shook her head, “Not much Fluttershy,” She replied as she scrolled through more of the post, “It says that Dragonheart55; also known as Dragonheart the dismantler. Has dismantled thirteen of the games legendary items,” She continued before exiting out of the blog post and shutting off her phone, “Legendary weapons that nobody else can get; because they were either exclusive content or they have very low drop rates.” She finished.

One of the other teenagers- one that had purple purple hair and wore solid white clothing- shook her head as she brought out her phone. Pulling up a list of weapons, “The wand of the star swirlier,” She began as everyone's gaze shifted towards her, “The shield of gryphons, the amulet of the elders, the dagger of platinum, the armor of hurricane,” She then looked up from her phone, “Each one he has dismantled; not counting the Amikuk blade.” She finished.

Rainbow stood up quickly and raised one of her fists, “I say we find that player in the game and kick his ass!” She shouted having everyone in the library to shush her again, “That way Pinkie can use her pickpocket skills to get all he's got.” She finished.

Twilight shook her head in a disapproving way, “Although all of us want to do the same thing Rainbow dash,” She sighed as she looked down at the table, “It's going to be next to impossible.” She finished.

Rainbow glared at Twilight with eyes of rage, “How is it impossible?” She asked while standing up for a third time, “We are the best clan in the entire game. I'm pretty sure all seven of us can take only one dragon-born.” She finished actually managing to keep her voice down.

“I saw his stats Rainbow,” Twilight replied while reaching into her backpack and pulling out a sheet of paper she had printed, “Take a look.” She finished while sliding the paper towards Rainbow.

Once Rainbow had got a look at the paper; her eyes went wide in shock. She struggle a little to find her voice as she read, “Attack eight hundred and Fifty-nine,” She spoke causing everyone-except for Twilight's- eyes to widen, “Defense nine hundred and two, special and critical attacks seven hundred,” She slowly read each of his stats until she was at the bottom of the page, “He's stronger than all of us teamed up.” She finished.

Twilight simply nodded her head before sighing, “I don't think he's a normal player girls,” She spoke as she pulled out her phone again; she still pulled up the news from the game. But this time it was a blog about something else, “I think he is one of the pro players.” She finished.

“Pro players?” The teenager with pure pink hair asked, “You mean the players that get payed to play the game?” She asked.

Twilight nodded, “Yes Pinkie,” She replied while bringing up a list of the pro players, “Just like Ravensword, Demonshifter, Radical Ninja guy, Boom, and Dinorage. I believe Dragonheart55 is another one of the games pro's.” She finished.

“Then why would he dismantle legendary weapons?!” Rarity asked, “If he's a pro then why is he doing actions that are so uncouth?” She finished.

“Maybe it's a quest.” The one known as Fluttershy spoke.

“A quest?” one of the other teenagers asked-she had Light blue hair with a white streak- while she looked towards Fluttershy, “What kind of quest has you dismantle legendary weapons?” She asked.

Twilight though for a moment before she answered, “Maybe it's a quest for only Dragon-born's,” Everyone looked towards her once again, “After all different players from different areas get different quests.” She finished.

“So it's a quest?” Applejack asked while shaking her head, “But what quest requires dismantling all these weapons?” She finished.

The group continued to talk to one another for many hours. But who wants to listen to them going on and on about how to beat another player. After all; said player has a problem of his own. One that nobody has an answer for.

The sound of an elevator ding could be heard; followed by its door slowly opening. The interior of hospitals; gray and lacking of colors. Honestly; if it was a place of healing you would think it would be more colorful. Have they ever heard of Feng shui? I mean if its a place where the sick and injured are going to be healed; they could have at least painted the walls a different color. Or at the least put some posters or images of encouragement up. Alright enough of my bitching and whining like a drunkard coming home from a bar.

“Finally he's shutting up.” A rough sounding female voice muttered.

“Hey who's the author of the story here?!”

“Clearly you're not,” The female voice replied; before a hooded figure can be seen turning around in front of a wooden door, “What kind of a author has an argument with a fictional character?” The voice asked.

“I can name a few.”

“The name them,” The figure replied before crossing it's arms, “I've got all the time in the world.”

“Umm......there's....uh....i know she......Umm.”

The figure then reached forward and grabbed somebody's shirt; while also forcefully pulling it closer to its hidden face, “Look I don't care! Just write the damn story okay!” The figure shouted.

“Okay! Okay! Now let me go!”

The figure growled in annoyance before releasing it's hold on whatever it had. It then turned back around and faced the door; a deep inhale of air was heard. Before it was slowly exhaled; just as the person had reached for the handle of the door. The door opened and on the other side was a doctor dressed in a solid white coat with blue clothing underneath.

“Oh, Doctor heartbeat.” The person spoke in a startled voice.

“Ember,” The doctor greeted in a happy tone, “Nice to see you again; how have you been?” He asked.

“I'm fine,” The teen known as Ember replied while pulling down her hoodie. Revealing a female with buzz-cut pink hair, “How is he?” She asked.

The doctors look of happiness quickly changed to that of disappointment. He shook his head before stepping aside; allowing her to enter the room. Slowly Ember walked into the dimly lit room; she could hardly see anything around her.

“Don't have him talking for to long,” The doctor spoke as he started to walk away from the room; he then turned back once again, “Oh, and Thorax is in there already.” He added before moving on.

With a nod and sigh she gently closed the door and walked further into the room. She had reached a curtain that covered the entrance of the room; gently she pulled the curtain to the side and saw a very sad image. In the middle of the room was a teenage male about a year or two younger to her. He was hooked up to multiple machines; which had various amounts of tubes hooked up to him. The male had green spike hair. To his right sat the male teenager known as Thorax; who was gently holding his hand.

“Hey, Thorax.” Ember greeted in a gentle tone.

Thorax looked towards her and smiled sadly before looking back towards the teen on the bed, “Hey Ember.” He greeted back in a sad tone.

Ember walked up to the left side of the bed; pulled over a nearby chair and sat down. She was fighting to keep the tears welling up in her eyes from falling. She hated seeing some special to her like this; it hurt her so much. She didn't care if anything bad happened to her. But if it was someone she was close to; she couldn't hardly handle it.

“How's Spike?” She asked.

Thorax was silent for a good two minutes before he finally answered, “Two years.” He replied in a voice just barely above a whisper.

“What?” Ember asked.

“Two years,” Thorax spoke again this time through gritted teeth, “Two, bloody, goddamn years!” He yelled as he got up; walked over to the nearby window and punched it.

“Thorax!” Ember almost shouted as she got up and walked over to him; placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, “It's okay.” She said attempting to try and calm him down.

“Okay,” He replied in a voice filled with anger, “Okay,” He repeated as he turned around and glared at Ember, “How is this okay!?” He shouted as Ember backed up a little.

“Thorax, Calm down!” Ember yelled.

“We beat it!” He yelled, “Me and you beat it,” He continued before pointed towards the teen, “While it's.......It's-” He couldn't even finish what he was going to say; for he had fallen to his knees and started to cry. Ember knelt down and hugged him tightly; feeling his tears stain the back of his hoodie.

“I know,” She said in a soft voice as tears of her own started to fall, “I know.” She finished.
