//-------------------------------------------------------// Cards of war -by Demonic Dragon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The World of Equestria //-------------------------------------------------------// The World of Equestria A door slowly opened and slowly closed. A tired sigh and the sound of something being dropped onto the floor followed shortly after. The slow creaking of a chair echoed through the air; along with the sound of a computer turning on. A person can be seen sitting in front of a computer. The navy blue screen shined brightly for a few seconds; before its color changed into a violet color. The person sitting in front of the computer was a female teenager. She had purple hair with a single light blue streak cutting through it. She lightly tapped on the keyboard and then used its mouse to click onto the image of a game. “Okay,” The teen sighed before reaching towards a small drawer. She then opened the drawer and pulled out what looked like a deck of cards. She then closed the drawer and placed the deck of cards inside of a strange device connected to the computer. A loud beep was heard before the device closed and glowed brightly. The teenager smiled before sitting back down onto the chair. She then reached behind the chair and pulled a strange helmet over the back and onto her head. Once the helmet was secure; the teen reclined in the the chair and took a deep breath, “Portal open!” She shouted. A series of images flashed before the teens eyes'; followed by the sound of data being uploaded. Eventually a bright light flashed for a few seconds; before the teen saw nothing but a stone road beneath her feet. The teen is shown smiling happily before looking up towards the cloudless blue sky. The teen was standing in the middle of a large kingdom square; all around her multiple people were either standing near or walking up to one of the many stands. The teens wardrobe had changed along with a few other features. Her cloths looked like that of a strong mage; she also looked older and more like an adult. “Hey, Twilight!” a female voice shouted; causing her to turn and look in the direction from where the voice had come from. Across from her was a group of six other people; all of them were female, but each of them were different. Two of them were Valkyrie's. Two of them were knights and two of them were mages' like her. The group walked towards her; while she walked towards them. All of them smiling happily as they met each other. “Hey guys,” Twilight greeted as they all hugged each other, “How long did I keep you all waiting?” She asked. “Not long.” One of the Valkyrie's answered. The Valkyrie was dressed in rainbow hued armor; in one hand she held a medium sized double bladed sword. While in her other hand she carried a shield, “Me, shy, and the others just logged in.” The Valkyrie answered. Twilight sighed in relief after hearing that she did not keep them waiting, “So,” She began, “Whats the quest for today?” She asked. One of the knights- one that wore red hued armor and carried a huge claymore sword- walked up to her with a scroll in her hand, “All of us are gonna be tackling this new dungeon today,” The knight spoke in what sounded like a southern accent, “Apparently, its got a lot of brand weapon drops. Brand new materials for forging and this dungeon also has a brand new boss.” At the mentioning of that; one of the Valkyrie's-A smaller one which had cream colored armor, a small dagger in one hand and a small baby gryphon resting on her shoulder- let out a small scream. “Wh-What kind of b-b-b-boss?” She asked with a hint of fear in her voice. The knight chuckled before answering the question, “Apparently its something called a Amikuk.” “Gesundheit.” Said the other knight which wore pink colored armor; its weapons were a morning star and a small hand-cannon. The first knight chuckled before continuing, “No, that's its name Pinkie,” She explained before opening the scroll; allowing everyone to see the image of the creature, “Apparently, its got a long serpentine body with a toxic mucus for protection. It mainly stays in water; but it can move through solid earth like it is water. So we need to be prepared to either preform a lot of evasive stunts; or we can try and have our mages use their levitation spells to help keep that thing above the ground,” The knight continued before closing the scroll and looking towards the others, “Anyone got any other plans?” She asked. One of the mages raised their hand; getting the attention of everyone in the group. The mage had light blue robe; with purple shading. In her left hand she carried a wand; which seemed to twist around itself before straightening out at the top. “What's up Starlight?” The knight asked. “Well, Applejack,” The mage known as Starlight began, “I like the idea of the levitation spells; but what will we do about the toxin on its skin?” She asked. The knights eyes went wide; somehow she had forgotten about that one critical detail. The toxin on the creatures skin is not only high on the venom charts in the game. But it is also very corrosive; meaning that it could burn right through their defenses. She made a mental note to thank her later. “You're right,” Applejack replied before looking towards the Valkyrie in rainbow armor, “Rainbow, do you have any armor that toxin resistant?” She asked. The Valkyrie known as Rainbow gave her a smug look, “Plenty and if you're thinking what I'm thinking. You already know what my answer is.” She finished before bringing up her inventory screen. In a few short seconds Applejack had an alert appear on her screen; which caused her to smile before tapping on the accept button. Allowing her to receive all the armors that Rainbow had given her. With a nod she turned and started to walk away from the group. “I'll be back after I visit my brothers forge,” She yelled as the others watched her walk away, “Y'all go ahead and head for that dungeon! I'll meet y'all at the boss room!” She finished causing everyone in the group to nod; before all of them took out a strange wooden totem. “Teleport,” All of them began, “Caverns of the feral beasts!” All of them finished; all of them then had a light blue glow appear around their bodies. Then in seconds all of them had vanished from the town square. “On your left Rainbow!” Shouted one of the mages; causing Rainbow to dodge a rock snakes strike. “Thanks Rarity!” Rainbow thanked before turn her attention towards a shatter-back turtle. With a smug grin she brought up one of her hands, “Card shuffle,” She shouted causing a deck of cards to appear before her. A shuffling sound could be heard; while she stared at the the deck with anticipation, “Come on! Come on!” She mentally shouted just as the shuffling sound came to an end. The deck glowed for only a few short seconds before three cards were left floating in the air in front of her. She had a wicked smile of glee stretch across her face; while the cards flew into her sword. The sword then started to glow a dark purple. She lifted her sword high above her head, “Valkyrie's wrath!” She shouted causing the glow on her sword to intensify. Rainbow released a loud yell as she shot towards the creature. Everyone in the group watched as she slammed into the Shatter-back; causing a loud explosion to echo through the tunnels. While the creature released its final roar. A large amount of dirt and smoke filled the part of the cave they were in; eventually all of it cleared and once everyone could see clearly again. All of them saw Rainbow standing proudly with a single card floating in front of her. “Yeah,” She shouted as she grasped the card, “I got the iron shield of the shatter!” She finished in a voice filled with happiness as she tapped the card. The shield she had in her hand glowed and eventually turned into a card; while the other shield took its place. The shield had the shell of the turtle she had just beat. She liked how the razor-like shell of the creature was on the front side of the shield. Which made it look more like a lethal weapon; rather than a defending weapon. “Excellent attack Rainbow dash!” Shouted the mage known as Rarity- who wore solid white robes with some purple lining- as she walked up to her friend. Who had placed the card she had switched out inside of her deck, “You've really improved.” Rarity finished. “Thanks,” Rainbow replied in a happy tone, “You've gotten better also.” She finished “Guys!” Pinkie shouted causing everyone to look towards her, “I think I found the boss room!” She finished causing everyone in the group to regroup at her position. Once the group was back together they got a good look at the room. They could see that the door was wide open; which caused all of their eyes to go wide. For the door to the room was wide open. All of them looked at each other; each of them staring at one another. Almost as if they were expecting the other to know why the door was open. “Pinkie?” Starlight asked. “Yes, Starlight.” Pinkie replied as her gazed shifted back towards the door. “The door to the boss,” She began in a shaking voice, “Did you open it?” She asked. “No.” Pinkie answered. “Then that means.” Twilight began. “Another player.” Rainbow added. “Is already.” Rarity continued. “Fighting the boss.” All of them finished before a loud roar came from the room. All of them gasped loudly before Rainbow dash ran past all of them; she could hear them calling out for her to stop. She came to a quick stop for only a few second; before she turned back towards all of them, “Elements of harmony!” She shouted causing all of them to gasp as they heard their clan name, “We've got another player to save!” She finished with a shout full of nothing but power. The others had a look of determination appear on their faces; as they charged in after her. Each of them shouting their own battlecries. All of them ran through a long dark hallway. Hearing the echos of their cries as they ran. Eventually they saw the battle-light of the boss fight at the end of the hall. Once they had reached the light; all of them had entered the boss room. The room was set up almost like an ancient waterway. On one side of the room was a solid stone floor. While the other was nothing but water. They heard the shout of the player that was already ahead of them; causing all of them to look towards the water. “Whoa!” Rainbow shouted as she witnessed something almost impossible. The player was a knight that had no armor; only a purple and green battle-coat and cloths. In one hand it carried a double bladed bone sword. While in its other hand it carried a curved dagger. The player released a loud shout as it struck the boss in the stomach. Making the creature roar in pain as it was suddenly launched into the air. “Guys?” Fluttershy asked. “Yeah, shy.” Rainbow replied. “Isn't that a dragon-born?” She asked causing everyone to look towards her for a few seconds; only to slowly shift their gaze back to the player. Sure enough the player was a dragon-born; but why would he be here? All of them were confused by his presence in this dungeon. Sure they knew their were other players that were dragon-born. But those players mainly stayed in their own corner of the virtual world. So this was a little bit of a rare site to see. “Card shuffle!” The dragon-born shouted causing a deck of his own to appear. “Can you get his info Twilight?” Rainbow asked. Twilight nodded before she pointed the tip of her wand at the player. The wand glowed a barely visible white light; then as the wand glowed brighter a huge screen of information appeared in front of her. She read the information carefully; trying to learn as much as she could about the player. “Well?” Rainbow asked. “He's a dragon-born knight,” She started as she scrolled through the information, “He carry's the sword of the dragons strength and Hel's dagger,” She continued before scrolling through more information. What she saw made her eye's go wide in surprise, “All of you may find this shocking; he's not part of any clan. He's on his own here.” She finished before the information screen closed on her. “Wait,” Rarity spoke up, “He's all alone?” She asked. “Look!” Starlight suddenly shouted. Everyone in the group looked back towards the battle. They saw three cards floating in front of the player; they glowed brightly before they were sent into his weapons. He then held both of his weapons in the reverse style. The blades glowed brightly while his eyes closed for a few seconds. When his eyes opened; they swore they could see the emerald glow of his eyes. “Bahamuts pain!” He yelled before he jumped into the air; while the boss started to fall back down. The dragon-born released a loud yell as he brought both of his swords in front of him. His blades then glowed a emerald color; as he slashed the boss. The creature roared loudly in pain as it fell past the player and to the ground. But before it touched the ground; it vanished in mixture of colors. The dragon-born landed on the ground with a small thud. He stood up and placed his weapons back into their hilts. Smiling happily as he saw the word “Victory” appeared above him. “Incredible,” Starlight gasped as the result screen appeared in front of the player, “He beat that boss on his own.” She finished while the player pressed the button to accept the reward. He then brought up his deck; he scrolled through it and selected one card. The group watched as he was surrounded by a sunny yellow light; it grew intensity only to dim down a few seconds later. Allowing all of them to see that he had used a teleportation card. Slowly all of them walked over to where he once stood. Each of them with looks of shock on their faces. “Dag nabit!” The southern voice of Applejack shouted as she finally rejoined the group, “Y'all started and finished the boss fight without me!” She finished with a hint of jealousy and anger in her voice. “No, we didn't.” Pinkie spoke. “What do you mean, Pinkie?” Applejack asked. “This dragon-born,” Rainbow spoke in a confused voice, “He just beat the boss on his own.” She finished. “Dragon-born!” Applejack spoke in a voice full of surprise, “What's a dragon-born doing here?” She finished surprised by the new information. “We don't know,” Rarity answered before looking towards Twilight, “Did you get any other information dear? Like his name?” She asked. “Dragonheart55,” Twilight answered as a look of confusion appeared on her face again, “Who is that player?” She asked. The group stood silently for a few seconds before teleporting back to the town square. Although they wanted to beat the boss; all of them had to wait till the boss regenerated. All of them were tired and a little irritated. After all they just went through hell trying to reach the boss. Only to realize another player had beaten them to the boss. “Damn it,” Rainbow groaned out as they reached Twilight's home, “All that hard work for nothing.” Far off in a cave not to far away from the town; the dragon-born sat in front of a small fire. Above the fire was a small pot; which had steam slowly rising off of it. He sighed in relief as he opened his inventory screen. He scrolled down till he found the latest item he had won. With one click the item appeared in his hands. It was another sword-a broadsword- with a wooden hilt surrounded by golden metal. The blade had a sickly green hue to it; showing that the blade was laced with poison. He smiled happily as he tapped the weapon again. “This is another one down,” He spoke as the weapon started to glow brightly; the sound of something being broken down was heard. Then just a second later all that was left was green colored crystal. He held the gem in his hand and brought it up to his face, “Just two more and finally I'll have it.” He sighed just as the timer on the pot went off. Author's Note Here is a brand new story. I hope all of you enjoy it. if anyone had any advice or constructive criticism; it would be greatly appreciated. until chapter 2; hope you all enjoy chapter 1. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Dismantler //-------------------------------------------------------// The Dismantler The Canterlot Library; a large place of knowledge and peace. A place where one seeking knowledge had next to an unlimited access. Inside the library many people either sat and read a book; or walked around trying to find one. Inside the library sat many resting areas. In one of them a group of seven females sat and chatted. Each of them sporting their own unique styles of clothing and hair style. One of them got up from their chair and slammed their fists into the table. She was a teenager that had rainbow hued hair; and she wore looked like sport clothing. She had a look of anger etched onto her face. “He did what?!” She shouted only to be shushed by multiple people around them. Some of her friends had look of annoyance as she sat back down. One of them who looked like the purple mage; brought her phone. She then pulled up a blog on her phone; which had a news feed from the game. She scrolled down the blog till she was about halfway. “As I said,” She began as their attention shifted towards her, “Dragonheart55 dismantled the new legendary weapon.” She continued to read as one of her friends groaned in annoyance. Her friend- one that wore southern style clothing and a light brown Stetson. She also had light blonde hair.-looked towards as one of her fists balled in slight irritation, “Me or rainbow could have used that sword,” She complained as she reached into her back pocket. Pulling out what looked like a deck holder. She opened the top and pull out a single card; which looked like the knight from the game, “My knight,” She then looked towards her rainbow haired friend, “Or you Valkyrie could have used its attack boost and its poison effect.” She finished. “I know Applejack,” The rainbow haired one replied in a voice full of annoyance, “It even had a a poison bonus for every critical hit,” She continued while pulling out a deck holder of her own. She then opened the holder and pulled out a single card. On the card was an image of the armor that her Valkyrie wore, “And with my armor's lucky strike bonus; I could have landed multiple critical hits and poison attacks.” She finished trying her best to keep her voice down. One of the other teenagers- one had light pink hair which covered half of her face- looked over towards the one who was originally talking, “Is there anymore information on him Twilight?” She asked. The teenager known as Twilight shook her head, “Not much Fluttershy,” She replied as she scrolled through more of the post, “It says that Dragonheart55; also known as Dragonheart the dismantler. Has dismantled thirteen of the games legendary items,” She continued before exiting out of the blog post and shutting off her phone, “Legendary weapons that nobody else can get; because they were either exclusive content or they have very low drop rates.” She finished. One of the other teenagers- one that had purple purple hair and wore solid white clothing- shook her head as she brought out her phone. Pulling up a list of weapons, “The wand of the star swirlier,” She began as everyone's gaze shifted towards her, “The shield of gryphons, the amulet of the elders, the dagger of platinum, the armor of hurricane,” She then looked up from her phone, “Each one he has dismantled; not counting the Amikuk blade.” She finished. Rainbow stood up quickly and raised one of her fists, “I say we find that player in the game and kick his ass!” She shouted having everyone in the library to shush her again, “That way Pinkie can use her pickpocket skills to get all he's got.” She finished. Twilight shook her head in a disapproving way, “Although all of us want to do the same thing Rainbow dash,” She sighed as she looked down at the table, “It's going to be next to impossible.” She finished. Rainbow glared at Twilight with eyes of rage, “How is it impossible?” She asked while standing up for a third time, “We are the best clan in the entire game. I'm pretty sure all seven of us can take only one dragon-born.” She finished actually managing to keep her voice down. “I saw his stats Rainbow,” Twilight replied while reaching into her backpack and pulling out a sheet of paper she had printed, “Take a look.” She finished while sliding the paper towards Rainbow. Once Rainbow had got a look at the paper; her eyes went wide in shock. She struggle a little to find her voice as she read, “Attack eight hundred and Fifty-nine,” She spoke causing everyone-except for Twilight's- eyes to widen, “Defense nine hundred and two, special and critical attacks seven hundred,” She slowly read each of his stats until she was at the bottom of the page, “He's stronger than all of us teamed up.” She finished. Twilight simply nodded her head before sighing, “I don't think he's a normal player girls,” She spoke as she pulled out her phone again; she still pulled up the news from the game. But this time it was a blog about something else, “I think he is one of the pro players.” She finished. “Pro players?” The teenager with pure pink hair asked, “You mean the players that get payed to play the game?” She asked. Twilight nodded, “Yes Pinkie,” She replied while bringing up a list of the pro players, “Just like Ravensword, Demonshifter, Radical Ninja guy, Boom, and Dinorage. I believe Dragonheart55 is another one of the games pro's.” She finished. “Then why would he dismantle legendary weapons?!” Rarity asked, “If he's a pro then why is he doing actions that are so uncouth?” She finished. “Maybe it's a quest.” The one known as Fluttershy spoke. “A quest?” one of the other teenagers asked-she had Light blue hair with a white streak- while she looked towards Fluttershy, “What kind of quest has you dismantle legendary weapons?” She asked. Twilight though for a moment before she answered, “Maybe it's a quest for only Dragon-born's,” Everyone looked towards her once again, “After all different players from different areas get different quests.” She finished. “So it's a quest?” Applejack asked while shaking her head, “But what quest requires dismantling all these weapons?” She finished. The group continued to talk to one another for many hours. But who wants to listen to them going on and on about how to beat another player. After all; said player has a problem of his own. One that nobody has an answer for. The sound of an elevator ding could be heard; followed by its door slowly opening. The interior of hospitals; gray and lacking of colors. Honestly; if it was a place of healing you would think it would be more colorful. Have they ever heard of Feng shui? I mean if its a place where the sick and injured are going to be healed; they could have at least painted the walls a different color. Or at the least put some posters or images of encouragement up. Alright enough of my bitching and whining like a drunkard coming home from a bar. “Finally he's shutting up.” A rough sounding female voice muttered. “Hey who's the author of the story here?!” “Clearly you're not,” The female voice replied; before a hooded figure can be seen turning around in front of a wooden door, “What kind of a author has an argument with a fictional character?” The voice asked. “I can name a few.” “The name them,” The figure replied before crossing it's arms, “I've got all the time in the world.” “Umm......there's....uh....i know she......Umm.” The figure then reached forward and grabbed somebody's shirt; while also forcefully pulling it closer to its hidden face, “Look I don't care! Just write the damn story okay!” The figure shouted. “Okay! Okay! Now let me go!” The figure growled in annoyance before releasing it's hold on whatever it had. It then turned back around and faced the door; a deep inhale of air was heard. Before it was slowly exhaled; just as the person had reached for the handle of the door. The door opened and on the other side was a doctor dressed in a solid white coat with blue clothing underneath. “Oh, Doctor heartbeat.” The person spoke in a startled voice. “Ember,” The doctor greeted in a happy tone, “Nice to see you again; how have you been?” He asked. “I'm fine,” The teen known as Ember replied while pulling down her hoodie. Revealing a female with buzz-cut pink hair, “How is he?” She asked. The doctors look of happiness quickly changed to that of disappointment. He shook his head before stepping aside; allowing her to enter the room. Slowly Ember walked into the dimly lit room; she could hardly see anything around her. “Don't have him talking for to long,” The doctor spoke as he started to walk away from the room; he then turned back once again, “Oh, and Thorax is in there already.” He added before moving on. With a nod and sigh she gently closed the door and walked further into the room. She had reached a curtain that covered the entrance of the room; gently she pulled the curtain to the side and saw a very sad image. In the middle of the room was a teenage male about a year or two younger to her. He was hooked up to multiple machines; which had various amounts of tubes hooked up to him. The male had green spike hair. To his right sat the male teenager known as Thorax; who was gently holding his hand. “Hey, Thorax.” Ember greeted in a gentle tone. Thorax looked towards her and smiled sadly before looking back towards the teen on the bed, “Hey Ember.” He greeted back in a sad tone. Ember walked up to the left side of the bed; pulled over a nearby chair and sat down. She was fighting to keep the tears welling up in her eyes from falling. She hated seeing some special to her like this; it hurt her so much. She didn't care if anything bad happened to her. But if it was someone she was close to; she couldn't hardly handle it. “How's Spike?” She asked. Thorax was silent for a good two minutes before he finally answered, “Two years.” He replied in a voice just barely above a whisper. “What?” Ember asked. “Two years,” Thorax spoke again this time through gritted teeth, “Two, bloody, goddamn years!” He yelled as he got up; walked over to the nearby window and punched it. “Thorax!” Ember almost shouted as she got up and walked over to him; placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, “It's okay.” She said attempting to try and calm him down. “Okay,” He replied in a voice filled with anger, “Okay,” He repeated as he turned around and glared at Ember, “How is this okay!?” He shouted as Ember backed up a little. “Thorax, Calm down!” Ember yelled. “We beat it!” He yelled, “Me and you beat it,” He continued before pointed towards the teen, “While it's.......It's-” He couldn't even finish what he was going to say; for he had fallen to his knees and started to cry. Ember knelt down and hugged him tightly; feeling his tears stain the back of his hoodie. “I know,” She said in a soft voice as tears of her own started to fall, “I know.” She finished. Author's Note I'm sorry this chapter is short; but to be honest this chapter is filler. I'm also glad to see that other authors are liking my story; so I guess I'm doing something right. anyway, thanks for the comments and likes. if any of you have any words of advice or constructive criticism. I'll greatly appreciate it; after all I want to try to get better. Oh before I forget; the gamer names I used are not real.
