Twilight Sparkle was in her castle's library reading about a subject as she had the door locked so that she wouldn't be disturbed for a bit as she wanted to be alone for a while since she had a right to be because she needed to study and take a few notes as well, as she read by herself she head somepony at the door trying to open it.
She knew that it was somepony she knew but she wondered why they couldn't come back later, she wished they could figure that out for themselves and not bother her when she was doing something herself, she continued to read until she heard that the knocking continued, she stood up and went over to greet who ever it was.
When she opened it she saw Spike on the other side walk past her, she was surprised to see him out so late and became concerned about where he had been, it concerned her that he was mostly silent as they only thing he said to her was hello, she really wanted to know what he was up to. Spike went to his room and shut his door.
Twilight felt as if Spike was acting a bit strange as he walked right into her place from outside as he had just come back from a location that Twilight didn't know, Twilight really wanted to find out where he was at but at the same time she was afraid that she would be trying to find out about his privacy.
She finally had to see where he was at so she went to his room and saw him sitting on his bed, she raised an eyebrow as he appeared to be very stiff for some reason, she opened the door and went over to him.
"Spike where were you tonight? Why are you acting so secretive?" Twilight asked, Spike's eyes widened as he didn't know what to say, he looked down at the floor as he avoided Twilight's look, Twilight waited.
"Spike I'm serious! You have me worried about you! What have you been doing all night?" Twilight asked, Spike kept staring at the ground hoping she would leave, Twilight sat by him and Spike flinched which she shocked her.
"Spike what's the matter? Your very tense! Did somepony hurt you? If somebody hurt you you must tell me!" Twilight said, Spike looked away from her and whispered to her with a sad expression which concerned Twilight, Twilight wondered why Spike was acting like this as she wondered what happened to him.
"You will hate me when I tell you so I'm really not sure if I should tell you about what I want." Spike said, Twilight couldn't believe Spike would say that about her as she could never hate Spike as she loved Spike, she touched his shoulder.
"I won't hate you no matter what, I promise! I can see that you need to ask me something and I can help you with what you will ask me, just please take your time, you don't have to rush but please you must tell me so I can know how to help you." Twilight pleaded with Spike, Spike sighed and spoke.
"I was out all night by myself because I needed to be alone to think about something that you wouldn't understand if I asked you about it. I really wouldn't know how to explain this to you Twilight." Spike said sadly, Twilight gave him a comforting hug which put Spike at ease for a bit, Spike took a deep breath.
"Twilight I like you a lot, more than you can imagine, I know you and I are very close, as you know I never met my mother and you were the one who hatched me so I was thinking that...you could be my mother. Can you adopt me as a son?" Spike said as he looked a the ground, Spike was worried that he made himself look like a fool as he didn't want to be laughed at.
He then realized that Twilight wasn't going to laugh at him for what he was asking her he hoped that she wouldn't find it ridiculous, as he still stood there and stared at the floor, he wondered what Twilight was going to do, he didn't want Twilight to would reject his question, he started to sob so Twilight spoke.
"Spike please look at me." Twilight told Spike gently, Spike did what she said for him to do and slowly looked up at Twilight and saw Twilight smiling, his hopes raised, he hoped that she was going to say yes to his request of her adopting him.
"I'll be your mother, there's no shame in asking that, your not weird for wanting that as I can totally see your point of view, you feel really close to me since the day you were hatched, I've sometimes considered you a brother even but I was the one who hatched you, I've tried finding who your real parents are but I have never found them and they must be gone by now so....sure I'll adopt you, I would love to be your mother, e process is somewhat difficult but we will both figure it out." Twilight said.
Spike hugged Twilight tightly, Twilight felt his hug tighten and she tightened her hug as well as they didn't want to let go of eachother, as Twilight hugged him they both thought about how Twilight being Spike's mom would be like, they knew that they would be closer and it would be good for Spike since he never had a mom, they both cried with joy as he was happy that Twilight accepted what he asked her, Twilight embraced him.
"Thanks...mom." Spike said which caused Twilight to cry happily, a few days later Twilight adopted Spike through the official process and officially became his mother which made them both happy, they told their friends and they celebrated Spike's adoption, Twilight and Spike were the happiest they had ever been at that moment.
