Shifting Balances

The sun and it's bright yellow glow slowly recedes below the horizon leaving the land in with a soft glow the skies turning to a soft blue glow as the land is brought into the night. Slowly shifting from twilight to dusk, the two periods of time separating night and day. Borders that help maintain the balance of the the two powerful forces that control the land.

Standing atop at the very edge of a cliff outside the protective walls of Canterlot a single stallion unicorn stands watching the sun fall behind the horizon. It oddly brought a subtle peace over him, seeing the sun leave and the moon come out bringing the darkness with it. He found himself more active at night than during the day, most ponies shunned him for this always assuming he was up to something. He never really cared for what they had to say he always ended up ignoring them and what ever they had to say. It really didn't help his situation though, on each of those occasions he had been accused of stealing or committing some other crime. Even though on each of those occasion they had found the real culprit just a few days latter everypony still treated him like he was some terrible menace to society.

The stallion sighed looking off at the moon rising into the sky now its brilliant silver light shinning from above. Tonight was different though something was about to change he could feel it. The sound of pony landing behind him can be heard, looking back he sees the form of a mare in the darkness her body hidden within the shadows of the wall like she was apart of them. Only her brilliant shinning blue eyes can be seen in the darkness. She spoke in a voice that was as smooth as the night itself sending a sense of inner peace within the stallion"You have been chosen..." she says stepping out from the darkness into the silver Moonlight sending a shock of surprise through the stallion.
