Once Dead: Back For Vengeance

6 months later

So much time has passed, and yet I have not aged… ever since that rainbow beam aftershock. In doing so revived my body, but drained all but Sombra’s power from me. The hole in my head was gone, so it was proof I was alive again.

I decided to head back to the Frozen Wasteland for the time being. Not only was it isolated, but no sane pony could navigate the constant blizzards. And then I heard the whistle. I looked to see a train. I wouldn’t have paid attention if not for the guards around it and the royal seal. What it was I do not know, but I sensed a lot from power from it.

‘It has to be something pretty important if Sun Butt actually thinks sending it here is better.’

I then went into my Umbral form as I seeped into the ground.

Random Guard POV

“So, what are we doing again?”

“Ugggghhhhh. For the last time, it’s something from the Princess’s vault. She wanted it here for safe keeping.”

“Yeah but what is it?”

“That is only known between her and Princess Cadence.”

“Oh.”

They then resume their positions while the one guard thought… ‘That is a good question, what are we even shipping?’

“Last stop The Crystal Empire!!!” The Conductor shouts.

The Guards load up the box and take to the vault in the crystal castle. They drop it off as a small speck of shadow was still lingering around the box. It leaks around the box before tearing it open.

“Uh oh federal offence! Hehehe…blegh.”

I then look to see… a mirror.

“That’s it? I rode in that train for hours for this piece of crap?!” I then tried to kick the mirror in only to have my foot go through. I then pause as I slowly pulled it out. Then place it back in.

“Hmm. A doorway… how original Princess.” I gritted my teeth.

“Well… better see where this goes.” I then walk in before there was a flash and I was gone.

I blinked as I felt the sun’s light on me. I look up to see the sun shining, and I’m on the ground.

“What the…”

Desmond dove into a bush until he saw… students, but they weren’t even ponies. They were normal beings. He didn’t see anyone flying or levitating. Was he home? He could finally leave those memories behind and resume his life… wait… those weren’t humans, their colors were something like a rainbow threw up on a human pallet before they were born. The colors were too vibrant and… pony-like… He grinded his teeth. He was still here, but in an alternate dimension! None of them had horns or wings, so it was normal to him, unfortunately his train of thought was interrupted by a small whisper next to him.

‘They knew what I was!’

“Um excuse me sir?”

I turn around and see…

‘No… they’re still here!? Can’t I get away from them!’ I then start running into the school. Leaving behind a very confused human Fluttershy.

“Oh my, was it something I said?”

I kept running turning different corners as students gave me weird looks for running in here.

‘Why?’ I mentally shout.

‘I’ve had enough why would I want this!?’

Desmond wasn’t paying attention until he ran into something, or someone tall. He crashed onto the ground. The figure turned around revealing a woman with colorful hair, almost like Celestia.

“Oh, hello there.”

“Sorry I wasn’t paying attention.”

‘By Hell’s name… what’s next!?’

“I can see that. I’m guessing you are the new student? My name is Celestia, come with me to my office and Luna will help set up your classes.”

‘It cannot be so simple in this world…’

“Sure.” I said as sincere as possible.

“Well… that’s 20 minutes I’m not gonna get back.” I looked over my classes and then my ID with a somewhat forced smile.

“And now I’m supposed to wait for a tour by some student. I swear if it’s one of those…

“HI!!!”

“GAH!”

I look up and see that last being’s double I never wanted to speak to.

“HiI’mPinie!Youmustbenewhere!Doyouli-“

“Pinkie, enough. Didn’t you say you were going to be late for something?”

“GASP!!! Can’t be late to Mr. Cranky’s class again!”

I blinked as I rubbed my temples from the massive headache I got from her.

“Sorry Pinkie tends to love meeting new people.”

“It’s alright I guess. I’m still getting used to here.”

“Well then I guess I better take you for your tour. Follow me and I’ll show you most of the school. Over here we have…”

‘Over an hour… it took that long to see everything. I mean she even added some history of the place. I don’t really care. As long as these pony humans don’t find out what I’ve done or can do, I can probably find some way to go back to my dimension.’

“Oh yeah! I forgot to introduce myself, I’m sorry. My name’s Sunset Shimmer.”

I then quickly came up with a name that could be a possible alias for the time being.

“I’m Rusty… Rusty Nail.”
