Chapter 1, Comic-Con gone right *updated*
Comic-Con, a place where many people go to meet new friends, cosplay, and generally have fun. This year was Roy's first cosplay, a toa OC named Tarupe, a name derived from the Maori word for copy. Tarupe is a metru style toa, mainly black with gold shoulder and knee armor, as well as silver feet, hands, and chest armor topped with a silver Kanohi rode, mask of
truth with gold highlights. His heartlight and eyes are a glowing yellowish green. The costume itself is made with EVA foam and Bondo, sealed with plasti dip and even has a built in compartment for his keys, wallet, phone, and mp3! This costume is his best work yet, after a few sub par attempts.
As Roy was walking through the convention, he saw a booth selling a few mismatched items from many pop culture franchises. The seller looked to be wearing some kind of mix between slenderman and a resident evil merchant outfit, and he immediately knew who it was. He's only ever heard of him in stories, about how he displaces others to alternate versions of equestria. It looked like this was his lucky day.
Roy walked over to the booth, seeing all sorts of cool items. The merchant stood up and said "Hello toa, feel free to examine my wares."
Roy was so excited, he couldn't believe this was actually happening to him! He looked over the items the merchant had for sale, though the ones that caught his eye were the energy sword from halo, and the eleventh doctor's sonic screwdriver and TARDIS key from doctor who. "How much for the energy sword, sonic screwdriver, and TARDIS key?" Roy asked.
"The energy sword is fifty dollars, the sonic screwdriver is forty, and the key is ten." the merchant replied. He didn't hesitate giving the merchant the money, and put the items in a bag, save the plasma sword.
"My my, aren't you eager. Like the items I take it?" the merchant said.
"Yes, thank you very much!" Roy replied. Then the merchant grinned, a devious, devious grin.
"How about I throw in a little something extra." he said, then he leaped over the table, shoving Roy through a portal. Upon entering, he blacked out.
"This one should be interesting, it's not often someone knows who I am before they meet me." the merchant said. Chuckling to himself, he sat back down, waiting for his next victim.
THUD! Groaning, Roy opened his eyes. Well, not exactly 'open', activated would be a better term for the situation. He felt... different. He looked at his arm.
"HOLY S***!" he screamed. He knew that becoming a displaced meant physically changing, but it still shocked him. Imagine waking up as a biomechanical being, when you were human just before. Yeah, not exactly a good feeling. He wasn't Roy anymore, he is now Tarupe. After he finishedpanicking, ( and scaring the crap out of nearby wildlife )he looked at his surroundings. He was on a beach, near a volcano. He recognized the area as the beach where you start on in the Mata Nui online game. Tahu's canister and all. Didn't know what I was expecting, but I might as well head for Ta-Koro. Tarupe thought to himself. Soon, he reached the front gate.
"HALT! WHO GOES THERE!?" said a Ta matoran with a gold hau, known as Jaller.
"I'm Tarupe. Jaller, I need to speak with Vakama." Tarupe replied.
"And just how would you know of me or of our turaga!? I have never seen anyone like you before!" Jaller questioned.
"I don't have any time to explain right now, I must speak with him immediately!" Tarupe replied in a hurry.
"HA! As if I would believe you! ATTACK!" Jaller yelled, as many more Ta matoran started throwing bamboo disks. This was going to be difficult.
Well, looks like there's no way around this, what can I even do? Tarupe thought to himself as he prepared to make a run for it. He didn't even know how to use his rode, not that it would help in this situation anyway. Just as he started dodging, he remembered something. Wait a minute, displaced can summon items related to their universe! He dove behind a large boulder, barely dodging two disks. He deactivated his eyes in concentration, focusing on a kanohi matatu. Nothing. That's just great, I guess I can't do it yet. Looks like I'm gonna have to try something else. Tarupe spotted a disk close to himself, and snagged it. He then ran out from behind the rock, and threw the disk at the guards. It missed completely.I guess these are harder to throw than frisbees. He thought as he narrowly avoided another three disks.
"HA! You couldn't hit a stack of boulders from point blank!" A guard wearing a yellow rau yelled. Tarupe identified him as Keahi.
Tarupe was closing in on the gate, but his mask was knocked off his face. He blacked out a second time.
Tarupe groaned, slowly coming to.
"I think he's waking up turaga!" a male voice said.
"Good, I would like to speak with him in private." Another, older voice said.
"But turaga, it would be unwise to-"
"No, I can handle myself. He is without his mask." Vakama stated.
"Yes, turaga. As you wish." the other voice said, defeated.
"Now, as for you." Vakama addressed the now awake Tarupe. "Care to explain yourself?"
"Forgive my unannounced arrival, Vakama. I needed to see you as soon as possible." Tarupe said.
"And just how do you know my name, strange toa?" Vakama queried.
"It's a long story, so I'll give you the abridged version." Tarupe replied. "Oh, and can I have my rode back?"
"I knew I recognized this kanohi, you may have it back." Vakama said as he picked up Tarupe's mask and handed it to him.
Tarupe cleared his throat and began. "Well, it all started when I made this mask..."
In a dark lair, located in the Mangaia. "Well well well, it seems we have another new variable. I may need to modify my plans slightly. What do you think, Sombra." Teridax asked the other being. Another makuta stepped forth, wearing a black mask of charisma with a crimson fin.
"He shouldn't be a problem, did you see how he threw that disk. Pathetic if you ask me." Sombra stated.
"Don't forget, six small ponies managed to cause you quite a bit of trouble. If you hadn't come back, you surely would have died." Teridax stated. "He may be a novice, but he could pose a threat in due time."

"And that's basically it Vakama." Tarupe finished.
"That is quite a story, toa Tarupe. It seems you know a lot about us, and our world. I must admit I never expected that you would know about our past further back than even I know." Vakama said impressed.
"Well, I know much more, but I feel you may not be ready for certain information. However, you should know something about a certain mask that is sealed in stone." Tarupe said. Vakama tilted his head slightly, his curiosity piqued. "It is the key in unlocking the power in a certain blue masked Ta matoran, who's destiny is to walk among us in white and gold." Tarupe finished. This shocked Vakama.
"Well, that is surprising. He was always... different." Vakama pondered.
Horns sounded, followed by a voice saying "The toa and elements have returned! Raise the gates!"
"Vakama, would you mind informing them of my presence. I wouldn't want to cause them to panic or attack." Tarupe asked.
Vakama nodded. "I will make sure they don't act irrationally." Vakama said as he walked out of the hut. Moments later, a pink blur sped into the hut and was face to face with Tarupe. Pinkie proceeded to squeal.
"OhmygoshhiI'mPinkiePiewhat'syou'renamedoyoulikepartiesandcake-" Pinkie was abruptly stopped by a hand to her muzzle.
"Pinkie, please get out of my face." Tarupe asked her. She backed up, still smiling.
"How do you know my name *GASP* ARE YOU PSYCHIC!?" she exclaimed excitedly.
"I'm not psychic, I just know a lot. Don't think too hard about it." he said calmly.
"Is that so? Then how do we know we can trust you?" Twilight asked as she walked in.
"I thought Vakama told you." Tarupe said curious.
"He was, but Pinkie rushed in when he mentioned a new toa." Twilight explained.
"Well, I'm not quite a true toa yet. I just got here about two hours ago. I don't even know how to use my mask or elemental powers." Tarupe admitted, scratching the back of his head.
"As long as you don't cause any trouble, I'm sure we can help you." she said. The other twelve heroes walked in, surprised by how different he looked than the other toa.
"Well, I won't be any trouble. As for my element, I'm not one that would normally exist." Tarupe said, causing the mane six and toa to look at each other in confusion.
"What element are you, then?" Twilight asked.
"I'm a toa of emulation. I can use my element to copy abilities I observe in combat. At least, that's what it's supposed to be. Since I don't know how to channel my element yet, I don't know if that's the case." Tarupe explained. The others were curious to say the least. "I just have one question, how did you six and spike end up here?" Tarupe asked Twilight.
"Well, we were about to defeat king Sombra, when a portal opened up and he jumped in. We all jumped in after him and ended up here." Twilight said.
Twilight opened her eyes, dazed. "Ohhh, what happened?" she said groggily. She shook her head, and called out for her friends " Applejack?, Fluttershy?, Pinkie?, Rainbow?, Rarity?, Spike?". She looked around the beach, seeing two small purple legs sticking out of the ground kicking. She pulled Spike out of the ground with her magic. Spike spit some of the sand out of his mouth.
"Thanks Twilight, sand doesn't taste that good." Spike said.
"You're welcome Spike, now we need to find our friends and stop Sombra!" Twilight stated.
"Uh... Shouldn't we find out where we are first?" Spike asked. He did have a good point.
"Good idea, now where should we go..." she said. She looked around, spotting what appeared to be a small village on top of giant lily pads. Wait... was that smoke!? "Spike, we need to help that village! " Twilight said as she picked him up with her magic and placed him on her back. She started galloping over to the village in a hurry, hoping she could help the inhabitants before anypony got hurt.
Once she got to the gate, she saw something she couldn't explain. A large, blue bipedal robot fighting some kind of animal with treads, with smaller bipeds watching in awe. Needless to say, she started having a mini freak out. The creature stopped and stared at her for a moment, before the larger biped leaped onto the creatures back. The creature let out a roar before falling into the water. The smaller bipeds were focused on the splashing water, as if in a trance. Twilight ran toward the water, startling them. She was about to use her magic to lift the large biped out of the water, when the large creature suddenly shot out of the water and fell over. The large blue biped standing victorious with a strange mask in its claw, until it saw her.
All attention was on Twilight and Spike now. This was somewhat unnerving, even more so when the taller of the small bipeds stepped forward with its face glowing. Then it spoke. "Hello there, my name is Nokama, what are your names?" she asked.
Twilight was ecstatic, a new sapient species to communicate with! "My name is Twilight Sparkle, and this is my assistant Spike!" She said.
All of the blue bipeds gasped. "They speak the same language!" "How is that possible?" "How intelligent are they?" "Are they Makuta's spies?" various smaller bipeds whispered to each other.
"That's enough." Nokama said. All of the smaller bipeds immediately stopped whispering. "We need to talk, please follow me. Gali, you come as well." she said, gesturing to the largest biped. Twilight nodded, motioning for Spike to follow her.
After much explaining. "Ah, so you still need to find your other five friends. Gali, I understand you still need to meet with
the five other toa as well?" Nokama asked.
"Yes, turaga. It may be beneficial for the both of us to meet at the Kini Nui." Gali said., turning towards Twilight. "If you've ended up near Ga Koro, then your friends might have met with the other toa already." she finished.
"Agreed, hopefully that's the case." Twilight said in agreement.
"Then it is settled, you two will head for Kini Nui to meet with the other toa and your friends, Twilight. Gali will lead the way" Nokama said.
Both Twilight and Gali nodded. "Spike, we're leaving for Kini Nui to meet up with the others." Twilight said to him, as he stopped twiddling his thumbs while sitting in a corner.
"Best of luck." Nokama said. Gali and Twilight both gave a small bow before exiting the hut.
"This way." Gali said, as she headed for the jungle.
Pinkie Pie woke up in the middle of a jungle, and proceeded to bounce aimlessly while humming a specific tune to herself "This place looks like it'll be fun to explore!" Pinkie said to herself. As she was bouncing along, she saw a strange metal bird. "HI!" she shouted at it. Then Pinkie's tail twitched as the small bird fell out of its nest. She immediately ran to catch the bird, but something green swooped past her and placed it back in the nest. She wiped some new sweat from her forehead.
"What kind of happy-luck was that?" The green figure said to itself.
"I don't know, but that was so cool!" Pinkie said. The green figure looked at Pinkie, dumbstruck. "What else can you do?" she asked eagerly.
"I, don't really know..." Lewa said sheepishly.
"Sure, I'd be ever-happy to help you find your friends!" Lewa said.
"I like the way you speak-talk.Hey! This is fun!" Pinkie said happily.
"Where do you think-suppose we should go?" Lewa asked.
"Hmmm... That way!" Pinkie said, pointing in a random direction. "Let's go!" she said as she started bouncing again.Lewa watched her, curious as to why she would bounce like that. He shrugged it off and followed her.
Surprisingly, they made it to Le Koro in a few minutes. "And then I just woke up in this jungle!" Pinkie told Lewa.
"This Sombra sounds an awful lot like the Makuta." Lewa said.
"Huh, I guess you're right." Pinkie replied as they walked over to the elevator.
Once the elevator reached the village, all of the villigers stopped what they were doing and stared.
"Rahi!" "Time to quick-run!" two random matoran shouted as they ran away. Most of the other matoran followed suit. Only two matoran stood their ground. A slightly taller being walked out of a hut, and addressed both Lewa and Pinkie.
"Welcome to Le Koro, I am Matau, the turaga-leader of this village. Please forgive the hasty-rude actions of the Le matoran." Matau apologized. "Please follow me to my humble hut-home." he asked them.
"Okie-dokie-lokie!" Pinkie said as she started bouncing again. Lewa started mimicking Pinkie's bouncing, receiving odd looks from the matoran.
