It was just another bright warm morning that dear Celestia had brought down to the ponies of Ponyville, many of which were outside enjoying the weather or rushing about the shops to get their errands done early. I had been galloping gleefully about to Twilight's to see about learning a bit more magic other than just the ability to play the lyre. As I was running past everypony with my agility, something caught my eye. My swift hooves gave up on me and let me bash horn-first into a picnic table outside of Sugarcube Corner. My vision went blurry and I blacked out. When I awoke, there it was. Towering above me was the sweetness that had caught me off guard. I quickly fumbled myself about trying to regain balance, but it was no use. I let myself have one last clumsy fall before asking for help. As my dirty face was buried into the ground carelessly but one last time, I heard a cute giggle. I lifted my head dizzily and looked around. A hoof extended out to where I could reach it. I looked up, a humble-looking pony swirling all around. I set a hoof onto their's and pushed down on it, giving myself enough force to pull myself up. After a bit of standing and letting myself settle down, I set my flank on the ground and looked at the creature. It began to speak sweet words. "Hello, there! Are you alright?" The voice sounded rather girly. I tried speaking, but only a jumbled mess came out of my mouth. "Hehe.. Well.. allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bon Bon, and I'm great at making sweet candies!" Bon Bon set a hoof on my shoulder as she spoke. "M-my.. name's.." My head just swirled about, I could not think straight. Was such a beautiful pony talking to a rather drab pony like me? The beauty laughed again, a tiny snort hidden within her giggle. I smile awkwardly at her, being so swooned it was hard to concentrate. I began just hyperventilating. Bon Bon pulled me into a hug, petting my back to try to get me to calm down. "There, there. It'll be okay.. Would you allow me to take you home so you can get some rest?" Without any response of mine, she nipped onto the side of my neck and threw me on her back. She began an even trot. I smiled hazily and looked around, trying to remember where I lived. She eventually found my house, ignoring my misleading directions. Bon Bon grasped the handle in between her teeth and opened the door. My house was rather dark, for I had forgotten to open all of my blinds and curtains. Bon Bon carried me up the stairs and located my room, trotting over to my bed. She carefully laid me down and went over to lie on a nearby couch in my room... Chapter 3: After the Accident"Hey!" Bon Bon nudged me. "Would you like to get up?" I mumbled something in response, half-asleep. Bon Bon gave me a shove. "I just want to make sure you're okay.." I opened my eyes, my vision slowly going in to focus. Once I came to, I saw Bon Bon fixing my blankets. My eyes went wide. "DID I FALL ASLEEP?!?!" I quickly jumped out of bed and threw open the curtains. A dark purple covered the top half of the land. Brilliantly crafted stars were spread across the night sky like sprinkles on cupcakes. I saw a shooting star and quickly made a secret wish, whispering softly to only myself. "Yes, you did fall asleep.. It was adorable.." Bon Bon blushed and cocked her head to the side as I whispered into the window. "Hm? What was that? You wish bean bags would kick you?" I quickly turned around and caught her eyes into mine. "N-no," I said back meekly, blushing lightly. I trotted over and flipped the switch on, a bright light penetrating my weak eyes and casting itself outside my window. "I had just seen a shooting star and thought I would make a wish," I replied back with a goofy grin. I moved over to the couch to sit in my silly way, patting the cushion next to me. Bon Bon came bouncing over happily, her curly mane flopping carelessly. "Would you like to know more about me?" She questioned with a smile. I just gave a nod as a response. "Well.. As I mentioned before, my name is Bon Bon. I'm new here in Ponyville and was just checking things out, trying to meet new ponies. Then we managed to catch each other's gaze and you just flopped. Where were you going, anyways?" I opened my mouth to speak but was quickly interrupted. "That can wait. But anyways, I've come from a valley a little past Canterlot to see if I could extend my social life. Seems to have been working so far.. I've already met a great pony!" She smiled at me, expecting me to know I was her new best friend. I just nodded for her to go on. "And well.. that's just about it. Mama and Papa told me it would be a great idea, they even said I might be able to find a different kind of love than their's.. but I'm not exactly sure what that means." Bon Bon nudged the air in a motion that told me to tell her about myself. "Uh.. Well.. My name is Lyra.. And I'm a unicorn.. I can only use my magic to play the lyre, which is my, uh, cutie mark.." A sudden wave of inspiration washed over me. "I grew up here in Ponyville. All my life I've wanted to find the right pony for me, I know it's silly, but I thought it would come easy if I just believe at a young age." Bon Bon giggled and nuzzled her snout against my cheek. I blushed wildly. "What if she's the one?" I questioned myself. "No.. she couldn't be.. But maybe if.. Oh, my. Am I really interested in her? I think I am.. Mom would say I'm crazy for liking her.. But Mom doesn't have to know.. What if Bon Bon feels the same way? Should I go for it?" "Lyra.. May I ask you something?" Bon Bon gazed deep into my eyes. I nodded yes, returning the stare. "Since I don't have a house here yet.. Could I.." I quickly cut her off. "Yes, Bon Bon, yes! That sounds like a great idea! We'll surely be the best of friends!" I shuffled into her and gave her a pony hug, squeezing her tightly. Chapter 4: A New LifeSo that's how it was. The gorgeous Bon Bon living with a dull figure like me. Is she crazy? Well.. even if she is.. I would still love her. Love and tolerate, everypony, love and tolerate. .... "Good morning, Ly-Ly!" Bon Bon came bustling into my room in a merry manner. "It seems like you should be getting up," she tore the satin curtains away from each other, "for I have breakfast all laid out!" I groaned and turned over, only to find my tail being pulled on for me to get out of bed. Shakily and unsteadily I got myself up, asking for Bon Bon's assistance for walking down the stairs. She gladly helped me out, being very careful and gentle with myself. Once we entered the kitchen, my eyes popped out. There it was, a breakfast that seemed like a feast fit for a queen. My eyes shuffled about the table, seeing all sorts of things like a fruit bowl neatly decorated with hay and straw, a bundle of sweet orchids stacked high on a plate, and even my 2 old barrel-shaped cups filled with cider. My mouth began to water, I looked at Bon Bon in that way of "Are you sure you want to eat such a masterpiece?" She just nodded, her smile beaming about. We trotted to the table simultaneously, me assuring her that I can get there without help. We sat down at each end of my stand and starting to dig in to the appetizing orchids, sipping cider between mouthfuls. Once we finished chowing ever-so sloppily, I reach for the fruit bowl... Turns out Bon Bon had done the same and our hooves touched in that special way. We both pulled away and looked down, trying to hide our blush. "N- you.." We both croaked out at the same time. We sighed and I insisted she take half the bowl and I take the other half. "A great idea" she said while I shuffled the bowl across the table to her. Once she made her pick, I just dumped the fruit onto my plate. We mowed the delectable food and I got up, taking my plate in my mouth. "Wurnf meh t' tek vyur plert?" I mumbled out through the object. Bon Bon did her adorable giggle, taking her plate and inserting it into my mouth. I walked them over to the sink and accidentally dropped them in instead of setting them in gently. Bon Bon came over to help wash them. I turned on the water, setting it in between warm and hot, while she grabbed a wash cloth. I walked out to the living room and sat in my goofy fashion, flipping on the T.V. A news story about Rainbow Dash came on, Bon Bon told me to turn it up. I did so and she came in, ignoring the dishes, to lay by me. We listened carefully and intently- "Good afternoon, everypony," the voice said, "It appears that the young flier, Rainbow Dash of Ponyville, has recently gone missing. Let's go speak with a few friends of hers.." "Now how in the hay could anypony be able to catch such a speed-demon as 'Dash?" AppleJack questioned with a complaining tone in her voice. "Whoever they are better give her back! Or Ah'll buck 'em right into next week!" Twilight, Rarity, and Fluttershy gave similar testimonials to AJ's, Rarity was bawling her eyes out with her makeup smeared and running all down her perfectly white face. Something was odd about this, though.. In each shot, Pinkie Pie was curled up on the ground in front of Sugarcube Corner (for they had filmed in front of it) just laughing hysterically, seeming to be in an unbreakable faze. Bon Bon's eyes and mine caught each other's with the same expression, both of us had noticed her... Chapter 5: The Adventure BeginsBon Bon gave me the look. That look of which we must go help the others to save Rainbow Dash, and cope with Pinkie. What was Pinkie doing? Why was she just shaking in a trance? Is she hurt? Is it a condition? Maybe one of her "Pinkie senses"? "Quickly, Lyra, quickly," Bon Bon interrupted the television and tugged on my hoof. "We need to go. We must go find out what happened to Rainbow Dash." "Yes," I nodded in agreement, flipping the T.V. off, "and we need to figure out what Pinkie was doing. Do you have any plans of how we can go about?" It took Bon Bon some thinking and fiddling of my hoof before she decided. "I think we should split up," she offered. "Since Pinkie's talents and mine are both related to sweets, maybe I could use a method to ease her out of this state of being she's in. And you can go help the girls!" I had to think this over for a bit, my thoughts in a big jumble. Gazing deep into Bon Bon's glorious blue eyes, I gave a response with a hug. "I'm sorry, Bonnie," I croaked out, "but I think that I should deal with Ms. Pie. My lyre could soothe her out of this trance, and you can help the girls search for Ms. Dash." I smiled widely, holding her tight. She just gave me a nod of approval, returning the squeeze. Once we finished our hug, I galloped up the stairs and into my room. There on my nightstand was my alluring lyre. I clenched it with my mouth and bolted down the stairs, my air slamming the door shut behind me. I giggled and met Bon Bon at the door. "You all set?" she asked in her sweet tone. I could only give her a nod, for my speaking would've been muffled like earlier at breakfast. She opened the door for me and I lead her out into the bright 11 A.M. sunshine. After the door was closed, I set down my lyre. "Alright," I began, "we should spli-" I was cut off by the rushing of Twilight, Rarity, AppleJack, and airy gallop of Fluttershy. Bon Bon smiled, knowing what I was going to say. She dashed in front of them, her curled tail and mane flying about. Once they saw her and stopped, she gave her reasoning. They quickly agreed and she nodded happily at me before heading off. I knew where I was to expect Pinkie, quickly trotting off to her spot with my lyre. The ground was a comfortable temperature of warm, feeling like a hoof massage. I grinned, almost dropping the lyre but catching it with grace. It took me about 7 minutes to reach Sugarcube Corner, for I had been distracted. Upon my arrival, I did not see Ms. Pie anywhere. I came up to the window and looked inside, seeing they were open. Deciding to go in, I went through the doors quietly. I trotted to the counter slowly... Chapter 7: Where's Lyra?Bon Bon galloped as fast as she could go, feeling as if she could start flying from the speed. It only took her about 4 minutes to reach Ponyville from the center of Sweet Apple Acres, and once she made it back, she slowed herself back to a trot. It didn't take her more than a minute to have made it to Sugarcube Corner. Bon Bon carefully opened the door and slowly went in, an eerie feeling hanging about. "Okay," Bon Bon thought to herself, "I've got to find Pinkie, and save Lyra. How could I bear to lose her? I.. I think I'm in lo-" She was cut off of her thoughts by a painful, heart-piercing scream seeming to have come from the basement. Bon Bon's heart began thumping so fast, it felt as if it could've just popped right out. She nodded to herself, knowing what to do. Bon Bon had to be careful, stay quiet and be swift with her hooves. Carefully making her way to the door, she noticed something. There, spread all over the counters and shelves were rainbow cupcakes. She stared at them in horror, realizing what Pinkie had done with Rainbow Dash. Bon Bon shook her head to get the image out and silently made her way down the steps after opening the door, occasionally a little creaking sound. She hushed it soothingly, thinking it would work. Carefully, ever so carefully, she made it to the bottom and looked around, waiting for another scream. ... "P-Pinkie!" I screamed out in pure terror, waking up suddenly after my slumber on the table, my flank burning. "Pinkie! What are you doing?!" Pinkie Pie giggled one of insanity, pulling out a knife. I could clearly see it in the light that I have no remembrance of being turned on, her pupils were largely dilated. I went into a panic mode, thrashing about, but the chains of the table held me still. ... "That must be the room," Bon Bon thought. She crept up to the door and peered in the crack, seeing my cutie mark missing. Taking in a deep breath, she darted through the door into the room and bucked Pinkie against the wall. "Bon Bon!" I exclaimed with joy, being so happy to have been saved. Pinkie got up, her mane gone flat for she was enraged. Charging at Bon Bon with the knife, I let out another scream to hurt Pinkie's ears and distract her. Pinkie ignored my wail, and just decided to dart the weapon at Bon Bon, but boy, she was agile and dodged it, tripping Pinkie out the door once she reached Bon Bon. The door slammed shut from the wind, and Bon Bon began looking around. "What are you doing?" I asked curiously, seeing her eyes dart around the room. She walked over to a nearby cart, and picked up a mint-colored piece, blood dripping from underneath. I looked back at my flank, realizing that piece was mine... Chapter 1: My StoryHi, my name is Lyra Heartstrings. I'm sure you know me as one of the background ponies. I'm here to tell you of my journey, to speak of my dear love, Bon Bon. You all know her, right? Yes? Good, that's what I thought. I was born and raised right here in Ponyville. My best friends in my filly years were Carrot Top, Derpy, and Minuette (but you probably know her as Colgate). We would always love to race out to the hills, rush around the meadows, or even bake. We loved baking muffins.. but sometimes we would mess up and have to go ask Pinkie for help. Sometimes we'd run out to Sweet Apple Acres and help AppleJack buck apples. Occasionally we'd all play dress-up with Rarity and twirl around in our dresses, even sing songs. My cutie mark is of a lyre because I'm really talented with one, I play it using my magic. My magic is just specially there for my lyre, it seems. I cannot do anything with my magic, but play my sweet sweet lyre to soothe my lovely Bon Bon when she is stressed or weary. Well, hay! It even calms me down, too. Please read on to see the most memorable moment in my life. Chapter 6: Pinkie's Surprise"SURPRISE!" Pinkie exclaimed as she jumped out from behind the counter. I also gave a little hop from the startle. "Lyra! Lyra! It's so GREAT to see you!" She leaped over the counter and smiled greatly in my face, I dropped my lyre. The lyre clanged with a horrific and sweet sound. I was absolutely speechless. What do I say to her? She seemed just fine.. I looked around to see a bunch of rainbow cupcakes. I sniffed the warm, sugary air. Pinkie saw my expression of delight. "Want to try one?!" she beamed gaily and loudly at me. I could only nod. Pinkie quickly grasped one and threw it at me, telling me to "eat up" and "there's plenty more where that came from". After I had chewed and swallowed the cupcake, I gave her an honest response. "Pinkie.." I began, her humongous eyes staring into my very soul, seeming to try to control my thoughts, "it's... It's... Absolutely great! What's your special ingredient, if I may ask?" "Oh," Pinkie giggled, "that's a secret.. but you can find out, if you'd like!" I nodded with a shining smile. She returned the happy tone and lead me downstairs. "Here's where we keep our "special ingredients"," Pinkie said with a strange tone, opening a door to a dark room. I was motioned in, the door slamming shut. I looked back, only to see Ms. Pie's eyes beginning to glow a scary blue. "Right over here," she directed me over to a table, positioning me on my belly, directly on the cold surface. ... Bon Bon and the group slowed their pace to a trot, then eventually stopping in the middle of Sweet Apple Acres for a break. Everpony's breath was heavy and hot, they'd been running nonstop for a half-hour. "Ah reckon.." AppleJack began with a big sigh and whoop, "Ah reckon we take a little stop t' catch our breath, then make another one of our rounds." Everypony nodded with agreement, but Bon Bon felt strange. She felt like something was wrong. Twilight felt her uneasy tension and asked if she could speak with Bon Bon in private. "Are you okay, Bon Bon?" Twilight questioned. "You seem a bit.. out of it." "I just.. I feel weird without Lyra, you know? I'm not used to being without her, and it feels like something's wrong." Twilight just gave a nod, motioning back towards Ponyville to tell Bon Bon to go to me. Bon Bon's face lit up with joy as she turned and made a mad dash to Sugarcube Corner.
Chapter 2: The Special DayNow that you know the basics about me, how about we fast forward to the best part in my life? ...
