Dust Among the Stars.
Prologue: A Thousand Years.
Load Full StoryPrologue: Lahaa.
A tale. A tale of a single mare going out and defying the norm: accepting and living. A mare who goes out to find the truth of Lahaa and why there is such a place as the 'Sky-Space'. Not only that, but save all life as well in the process. Well...what remains of it. This is the tale I will be telling you. My tale.
First of all; it may help you if I told you about what I'm talking about. Such as the 'Lahaa' and the 'Sky-Space'.
This is a story, older than the Race-Clans themselves, so you may want to grab a drink or some popcorn while I tell you.
Go on. Go get them, this story ain't going nowhere.
Anyway, 2000 years ago, there was a beautiful world of Equis, our home. On that beautiful world, was two majestic rulers of the twin Hierarchy of the sun and the moon and the nation of Equestria: Celestia and Luna. These two ruled the land and maintained peace and harmony, giving a happy, long life to those under them.
Then, there was another ruler: Grand Empress Black Rose. Ruler of the Imperial Pony Empire. They also maintained peace and stability with those under their rule. These two countries, were rivals to the core, with everything they did, judged harshly by the other.
Eventually, war broke out.
Then another.
Then another.
And so forth.
Soon, they began sapping the land. Ruining each others' nations by the year. Forests began to disappear. Mountains shrank to hills. Ponds and lakes to sand and dirt. Soon, they took the battle to space and the moon. They both began mining the moon itself for its resources to further gain the advantage over the other.
Almost 100 years of rivalry. 100 years was all it took to ruin the beautiful world of Equis. The clouds were darkened with ash and soot from the war and factories. Oceans were sickly tan with the waste produced. And the fields, were red and white with the blood and bones of the soldiers from both sides, with the crows picking and waiting for the next meal.
Neither one could gain the upperhand it seemed, and most of the population of both sides cried for peace. An end to this war.
They got it.
In a mighty flash, all they knew ended as the world of Equis blew up, by the work of the IPE. However, in one final act as well by the Equestrian rulers, they threw all the atmosphere outwards into space, mere seconds before the Blasting. However, not all of it vanished so to say in the vacuum of space. Small magical pockets remained in the space we live in now, thus came the name: Sky-Space. Some of it, the ash and soot, remained where it was. All that you could see, was a ball of gray, with a pulsing lighter gray in the middle.
This is what we know as the Equis Void.
The remaining ships from both sides stopped mid-fight. Having seen their home blown to bits. Soon afterwards, the crew from all the ships split, and went on to form the Race-Clans we know now.
The Unicorns, with their advanced technological hoarding.
The Earth, with the majority of the ships from the war.
And the Pegasi, with also hoarding of the mining stations in the system.
What happened to the other races you ask? They survived as well, and somewhat adapted our idea of Race-Clans.
The Griffin pirates and military stations.
The Zebra Scrappers and boneyard owners.
The monsters from Tartarus... Why did they have to survive...? Near the Equis Void.
The Celestians live near the sun and often considered the boogymares of Lahaa.
The Lunar Remnants mostly around the moon but also some military stations and ships.
Imperial Pony Remnants... They...are not very common, and have no actual known home or base and are often hated due to being blamed for the destruction of Equis. Though they are arguably the strongest in all of Lahaa.
That's all of them, all the Races in Lahaa. My family and I are Earth ponies and live in our Race-Clans' makeshift station; Sanctuary. Sanctuary is made up of many old Pre-Blasting ships. Though I think there is at least one station in there...
Any-hoo, My name is Shimarey. Not the best of names to be honest, nor the more, 'Earthy' of them, but its my name.
Now... let us get on with my story hmm?
