Equestria Rangers. Part 1: The Discovery
(The school bell rang.)
"Sorry I'm late." Sunset panted as she burst through the doors of the music room. "Sunset this the second time this week. Whats going on with you? you're usually so punctual." Fluttershy asked her friend. "Maybe she found something interesting at the portal?" Rainbow Dash inquired. "No not really" Sunset replied.
The Wondercolts had just lost a soccer game against the Shadowbolts. AGAIN!
"It was your fault we lost Applejack!" Rainbow accused.
"My fault!? YOUR the one who wouldn't pass the ball Rainbow Dash!" AJ shot back.
"Honestly you two and this stupid match , there is more to life than winning!" Rarity screamed.
"IS NOT!" The two athletes shouted back, clearly offended by the fashion queens statement.
As the end of the day arrived the Rain Booms decided to go over to the statue/ portal , to see if there was anything interesting there. Sure enough when they arrived they made a discovery they will never forget.
"What is that ?" Fluttershy asked in her usual worried tone. She was pointing at a mysterious button on the side of the statue."I'm not sure , sugarcube." AJ answered the shy animal lover.
"Someone press it!" Rainbow demanded. The others shot her an icey glare.
"OH COME ON!" Dash whined.
"Fine!, but if anything goes wrong , were blaming you. Got that!?" Applejack said without any emotion in her voice.
"Yes mom!" Dash replied sarcastically. "So how do we decide who's going to do the honours?" Rarity asked. The others thought for a moment. (GASP) "Lets draw straws!" Pinkie squealed excitedly. After the straws were drawn, Sunset had lost the challenge. "I'm so going to get Rainbow Dash back for this!" She muttered under her breath angrily. The moment Sunset pressed the button there was a sudden flash of light which engulfed the Rain Booms.
"Uhh where are we?" Fluttershy asked.
"Not sure." Sunset replied. "But we should investigate."
"I vote Rainbow Dash should go over there first!" Applejack suggested.
"What! why me!?" The rainbow haired jock screamed back at the farm girl.
"Because it was YOUR idea!" AJ answered.
"FINE!"
"Atta girl!" AJ cheered in a patronising tone.
"Stupid Applejack!" Dash muttered.
The moment Rainbow pressed the button , there was another flash of light which engulfed her in one swift motion. She was gone!
"Rainbow Dash!" the others screamed.
"Uh where am I?" Rainbow Dash asked no one in particular. She opened her eyes and looked around, only to find her self in a dark room tied to the wall. All of a sudden there was a light snicker. "Wh-who's there?" She stuttered. "I am Nightmare Moon! , HA HA HA!" The mysterious figure cackled. "Wh-what do you want with me?" Rainbow asked whilst shaking with fear. "Oh you'll soon find out child." With that She walked away, leaving Rainbow worried and scared she'd never see her friends again.
"Where did Dashie go!?" Pinkie asked.
"Not sure , but we need to find her." Rarity answered.
"This is all my fault!" AJ blamed herself.
"Oh Applejack it isn't." Fluttershy said in a soothing voice.
"Yeah , it is, I'm the one who volunteered her to go over there and , now she's GONE!" AJ cried.
"Shh , its not your fault Applejack. Rainbows just... impulsive." Sunset cooed as she tried to comfort her friend.
"Yeah but..." AJ was about to continue until she was interrupted by Rarity.
"Uhh girls you might wanna see this." Rarity said getting their attention.
"What is it ?" Sunset asked. "Oh pony feathers."
"Hello children!" Nightmare Moon screamed.
"Who are you and , what have you done with Dashie!?" Pinkie demanded to know.
"Oh don't worry , your rainbow haired friend is safe... for now." Nightmare moon was about to walk away , when she heard more screaming and crying.
"WAIT!" AJ shouted after her. "What if there was a way to get her back? Maybe we could make a deal."
"Applejack NO!" Rarity shouted trying to stop her. This got Nightmare moons attention. "I'm listening."
(Sigh) Applejack signed as she removed her hat and looked down at the ground. "I'll go there."
"You're serious?" Nightmare quizzed.
"As serious as the sky is blue." AJ answered in a sad tone.
"But its night time." Pinkie jumped in.
"NOT helping Pinkie Pie!" Rarity snapped.
"Very well then ." There was another flash of light , and suddenly the farm girl had vanished.
"Hey!" Pinkie shouted after Nightmare Moon. "You said you'd bring Rainbow back!"
"No I said I was going your other friend too." (Explosion) She disappeared without a trace.
(Coughing) "What do we do now?" Fluttershy trembled.
"I'm not sure." Sunset answered.
(At the dungeon)
"So you sacrificed your self to try and safe me?" Rainbow asked.
"Uh yes." AJ answered a little scared.
Rainbow hesitated for a moment before pouncing on her friend, hugging her tight. "Oh thank you, thank you , thank you!" You have no idea how scared I was." She whimpered.
"Did I hear that right? Is the awesome Rainbow Dash afraid?" AJ taunted.
Rainbow was going to deny the fact that what she just said was true, but she knew it would never wash with the queen of honesty. "Fine I admit it!" But tell anyone and you're dead!" She screamed.
"I think we both are anyway sugar cube. I think we both are." AJ said. "I'm scared too." Applejack was really bad at lying so she didn't even try to hide her fears. She just did her best to comfort Rainbow. "AJ, what if we never get back to the others?" Rainbow asked in a voice that screamed 'scared.' All Applejack did was hug Rainbow, and rub her back as she tried to comfort her. "Come on now I'm sure we'll find them... or they'll find us". She said trying to sound confident. But it wasn't working, Rainbow just cried her self to sleep. AJ looked up at the stars "Please." She prayed." If the magic of friendship really does exist , then let Sunset and the others find us." Applejack yawned as she walked over to Rainbow. She laid down next to the girl , and softly kissed her cheek. "Sleep tight Dashie." She said was she fell asleep her self.
(Back in Canterlot.)
"We have to find AJ and Dashie!" Pinkie screamed.
"Yes but how? That flash of light was faster than Rainbow when she uses her geode." Rarity asked.
"Not sure." Sunset answered. "But we won't stop looking until we do!"
"Yeah!" Rarity and Pinkie hollered in agreement. Suddenly an idea struck Fluttershy like a lightning bolt, but getting the attention of the others wasn't going to be easy.
"Uh girls?" She said in her usual quite tone of voice.
"What if we retrace our steps?" Rarity asked.
"Girls." fluttershy said a little louder , but still no luck.
"No that would take to long, and I don't know how much time we've got." Sunset replied , answering Rarity's suggestion.
"I know, lets have a party!" Pinkie shouted with glee.
"How would that help !?" Rarity and Sunset shouted in unison.
"GIRLS!" Fluttershy screamed, this time getting the trios attention.
"Fluttershy, you have an idea darling?" Rarity asked the animal lover. Fluttershy nodded. "Why don't we ask Princess Twilight for help?" Sunset face palmed. "Of course! why didn't I think of that!?" Pinkie handed Sunset her journal and pen. "Get to writing Sunshim!" She demanded. Sunset took the book and pen and began writing. "Dear Princess Twilight..."

this is my first fanfic , and my brother helped me with it. Its not brilliant , but there is more to come. This story does not have AppleDash shipping I just thought them two trapped together would be good.

Chapter 2 - Reinforcements
"Dear Princess Twilight. Last night my friends and I found a mysterious button on the side of the portal. Rainbow Dash decided it would be a good idea to press it , and when she did a bright light engulfed her and sent her to another realm , one of which none of us are aware of. None of us know what happened to her , but a while after she went missing a mysterious figure approached us. She looked a lot like Vice Principle Luna, but as a demon. We can only assume she has Rainbow Dash. Anyway Applejack said she would switch places with Rainbow , but it backfired and now the dark figure has them both. We would really appreciate any assistance you can offer and quickly. Your friend , Sunset Shimmer."
"Ugh how long has it been since you sent the message Sunset?" Pinkie asked getting impatient.
"I already told you Pinkie , its only been about 30 seconds." Sunset said flatly. As worried as she was about and Rainbow and AJ, this was the 8th time pinkie had asked since she had sent the message , and she was staring to get a little annoyed.
"I just hope their safe." Fluttershy stand in a worried tone.
"Me too darling. Me too." Rarity answered her shy friend.
Sunsets journal then stared to vibrate.
"Dear Sunset. what you described in your message sounds an awful lot like Nightmare Moon , a corrupted version of Princess Luna, the princess of the night from Equestria. Many moons ago the two royal pony sisters lived in harmony watching over all of Equestria and all of its inhabitants. Princess Celestia raised the sun and Princess Luna raised the moon. But as time passed luna began to get jealous that ponies were ignoring her beautiful night by sleeping through it. Soon the jealously took full control and it transformed the Princess into Nightmare Moon! With no other choice Princess Celestia was forced to banish her sister to the moon , using the elements of harmony. Legend had it that on 1000th year of the Summer Sun Celebration Nightmare Moon would return and attempt to turn Equestria into a land of eternal darkness. She did return and with the help of the elements of my harmony, and my friends we were able to turn her back into Princess Luna. But it seems the spirit of Night Moon has crossed over to your realm, I don't know whats going to happen but you need to find Rainbow Dash and Applejack as soon as possible and put a stop to this before your world becomes a living nightmare. "We already knew we have to find them, But HOW?!" Rarity shouted.
"Sunset did you really not know anything about Nigthmare Moon?" Fluttershy asked.
"No sorry, I left before Princess celestia had a chance to explain it to me." Sunset answered.
"Well we need to rescue AJ and Dashie!" Pinkie chirped.
"Agreed,but how are we going to do that with only four of us?" Rarity questioned.
"I think I know 5 girls who could help." Sunset stated.
(Over at Crystal Prep Academy)
"And thats another win for the Lightning Streak!" Indigo Zap exclaimed excitedly.
"Oh come on! thats like the 10th game in row!" Sour Sweet said getting a little annoyed. "Best out 25?" She asked.
"Sorry Sour, but you're good at some things but Rock , Paper, Scissors just isn't one of them." Indigo smirked.
Suddenly Lemon Zest approached the two. "Guys , guys , guys!" She screamed in what sounded like a concerned voice, something she never did.
"What is it Lemon?" Indigo asked.
"I just got a message from Sunset Shimmer from CHS , and... Sour sweet then interrupted her.
"Oh CHS" she said sweetly before her tone turned sour. I wish they would leave us alone!"
"No Sour she sounded like she needed our help." Lemon continued.
"Whoa , whoa , whoa!" Indigo Zap jumped in. "Are you telling me that the same Sunset Shimmer who defeated Twilight when she turned into that monster at the Friendship Games needs OUR help!?"
"YES! so we better hurry!" Lemon answered. we'll pick up Sugarcoat and Sunny flare on the way."
"We've been here for hours!" Rainbow shouted in frustration.
"Its not even been 24 hours Rainbow." Apple jack answered trying to stay calm.
"AJ , I'm scared what if they don't find us!?"
"They will sugar cube , I'm sure of it." The girls then heard foot steps approaching them.
"I trust you girls are well?" Nightmare Moon asked.
"Uhh well lets see. You're keeping us hostage in wherever this is, so how do you THINK we are!?" Rainbow demanded to know.
"Dash calm down!" Applejack shouted whilst holding her rainbow haired friend back.
"Hmm you two get some rest you'll need it for tomorrow. Nightmare said with an evil grin as she turned away.
The crystal prep girls had now arrived at CHS.
"So whats the big emergency?" Sunny Flare asked.
"Rainbow Dash and Applejack have been kidnapped." Sunset answered.
"Yes! this means I have a chance to reform my reputation as a winner!" Indigo shouted as she punched the air with her first.
"Indigo Zap!" Lemon screamed. Winning isn't whats important right now!"
"Besides the Friendship games only happen every four years and we had one 3 months ago." Sugarcoat bluntly stated.
"yeah but I'm not just talking about the Friendship Games , I'm talking games in general." Indigo answered back.
"Girls I think we're getting side tracked here. Please continue Sunset." Sunny Flare jumped in. "What happened to Applejack and Rainbow?"
"Well its kinda a long story." Sunset explained as she told them what had happened and showed them the letter from Princess Twilight.
"Wow thats awful." Sour Sweet stated.
"Yeah almost makes me feel bad about gloating earlier." Indigo said in a guilty tone.
"What can we do?" Lemon Zest asked in a worried tone of voice.
"I'm glad you asked." Sunset quickly responded. She then explained her rescue plan to all of the girls.
"So this is what we do..."
