Chapter 9: A Long Way Down Part 2

Previous Chapter

“Soarin what are you doing still standing there the race starts in five minutes?” Spitfire lecture him.

“Sorry captain,” Soarin apologized, “Just watching the recruits.”

Spitfire walked over and sat beside him, “I know what this is about, but we’ll have to discuss it later. You and I both know how upset Fleetfoot will be if we're not there on time.”

“Sure, just give me a minute,” Soarin asked.

“You have five of them, take your time.” Spitfire got up and walked away.

Soarin pulled out his phone and looked at his emails. Why does she think she can just come back into our world. She betrayed all of us! Soarin got up, but the past is in the past so there’s no reason for me to dwell on that. Even so, that doesn’t mean I have to forgive her.

“I better go see Fleetfoot,” Soarin walked the path that Spitfire just walked and this path lead to a box that was elevated above the track. There were three seats up there, two of which were already occupied. Soarin sat in his chair.

“Aren’t you excited!” Fleetfoot exclaimed tugging on his arm, “This is the first time the Wonderbolts have done parkour in years.”

“Captain are you sure this is wise?” Silver asked Spitfire while looking at the course, “If the track fails or someone shows up uninvited.”

“Hey, I thought you were the one who said it probably wasn’t even an issue,” Spitfire replied, “Or are you going back on that now?”

“Just keep in mind, captain.” Silver turned and glared at her, “There is a reason us Wonderbolts stopped doing parkour. If someone gets hurt it is on you not me.”

“They signed waivers,” Fleetfoot pointed out, “So technically any damage is not our fault.”

“But you’d forever hold the guilt,” Silver turned and walked away.

“Sometimes I wonder about that guy,” Fleetfoot shook her head, then she noticed Soarin, “Hey, Soarin are you ok?”

“Yeah I’m fine,” Soarin replied before looking back down at the track.

“Just remember,” Fleetfoot started, “I’m your friend too, so you can talk to me about anything.”

“Thanks Fleet, that means a lot,” For the first time that night Soarin smiled and Fleetfoot ruffled his hair a bit.

“Now let's watch the cadets!” Fleetfoot proclaimed.

Spitfire stayed quiet, This isn’t like Fleetfoot, so there's obviously something going on with her too. Everything’s moving so fast I wish it’d just all slow down.

“Ok, is everyone ready?” Swift asked.

Miracle looked around, everyone was putting in their earpieces and Swift had just finished testing them all.

“To be honest I’m a little nervous,” Miracle admitted.

“That makes sense I mean you are the first runner,” Rainbow sympathized.

“Besides, first come first serve,” Rollo started, “Since you’re the first runner a lot will be riding on you. Whatever place you get us into will be the hole you dug for yourself and the rest of the team. Since we’ll all have to make up your time I mean.”

Suddenly Miracle felt really nervous and dizzy.

Swift turned around in his chair, “Hey, don’t listen to him.” He said, “You’ll do fine.”

“I agree,” Legacy smiled and his smile was calming, “you’re gonna do great so don’t worry about it and have fun.”

“And due to your system you’ll only be in your peak the entire time.” Gale promised.

“Thanks guys you’re the best,” Miracle hugged Rainbow.

“Anytime,” Swift said.

‘All first runners please wait at the starting line for the countdown.’

“Oops, that’s my call,” Miracle ran out waving at them and smiling, “See you soon guys!”

“Fupas are almost as sexy as your mom!” Cyclone exclaimed right into Rollo’s face.

“That doesn’t make any sense,” he stated obviously.

“I was born at a very young age.” Cyclone said solemnly.

“Still doesn’t make any sense.”

“When I’m hungry, I eat food,” Cyclone stared at him in a creepy manor.

“Now you’re just trying to annoy me.” Rollo stated flatly.

Cyclone’s face went completely serious for a second, “Is it working?”

Rollo was about to answer, but Swift cut him off.

“Miracle told me that they just made the call and thanks to you guys I missed my call so would you do me a favor and shush?”

“Sure, I don’t have a problem with not talking,” Rollo sat down on the floor and watched the screen

Rainbow walked up beside Swift and looked at the screen.

“Mind explaining how it works?” She asked him.

“Not at all,” Swift cleared his throat and Rainbow prepared herself, “I can track the course here and I can tell the areas that are elevated from the ones that aren’t and there’s the… one second.” Swift checked his screen, “Miracle, room #3 is pulling up again you’ll have to take the higher route…” Swift turned back to Rainbow, “Hey I’ll explain it to you a bit later.”

“Fine by me,” Rainbow walked to the back of the room where Legacy was sitting and by the looks of it he seemed to be watching something on his phone. “Hey buddy what’s up?”

Legacy flinched and paused his video before looking up at Dash and calming down, “Sorry Rainbow, you startled me.”

Rainbow bent down by him, “Whatcha watching?”

“Just a movie,” He replied calmly before giving her his phone, “see?”

Rainbow pressed a play and then paused it again in surprise.

“Wait you’re in a movie?” She asked.

“Yep!” Legacy’s smile grew, “Me and all of my classmates. You see last year we all decided that we wanted to do something fun and special, something to remember each other by. My friend Oscar had a great idea, to make a movie, but not just any movie a musical.” He did jazz hands to exaggerate his point, “Everyone agreed and voted on who should be the leads. You see, the movie was about a boy and a girl who went to school in a special academy. The girl had a huge crush on the boy, but he had had a troubled life and never understood what love actually meant so he could never return her feelings. I was cast as the leading male role and another friend of mine named Alice was the cast as the other lead. With the musical we put a lot of songs by different artists together that made sense with the story.”

“You sing in it?” Rainbow suddenly unpaused the video, “I wanna see!”

Legacy took his phone back from her and skipped to a photo montage.

“This one is the best one, it has photos of all of us during that year,” he gave Rainbow his earbuds and started the video, “I sing in the background. Please don’t watch until the end…”

Rainbow put the earbuds in and her ears were met with a soothing, soft and calm voice. His voice was a bit higher than she expected, but it was so angelic.

“Do you remember when I said I'd always be there?
Ever since we were ten, baby.
When we were out on the playground playing pretend.
I didn't know it back then.

Now I realize you are the only one
It's never too late to show it.
Grow old together,
Have feelings we had before
Back when we were so innocent

I pray for all your love
Girl, our love is so unreal
I just wanna reach and touch you, squeeze you, somebody pinch me
(I must be dreaming)
This is something like a movie
And I don't know how it ends, girl
But I fell in love with my best friend~”

Rainbow stopped the video and looked up at Legacy who was smiling, but also blushing in embarrassment.

“You have a very nice voice,” Rainbow handed him back his phone.

He accepted it, “Thanks, I got it from my mom.”

“I wanted to hear more,” Rainbow pouted.

“I would let you hear more, but you couldn’t watch the video,” Legacy blushed, “It gets… Meh?” His voice went very high until it squeaked and his blush deepened with embarrassment.
Rainbow laughed at his embarrassment and his adorable squeak.

“One day I’ll let you watch the whole thing.” Legacy tucked his phone away in his pocket. “Though the end ‘credits’ are about almost half the movie.” He exaggerated. “It consists of all the songs that didn’t make it into the movie, but at that point we were just having fun in the recording studio.”

They sat in silence for about 5 minutes before Rainbow noticed something off about Legacy.

“Hey, are you o-“ Rainbow tried to ask.

Legacy stood up abruptly and walked out, “I need to go to the restroom.”

What’s up with him, Rainbow thought.

“Just be back by the next turn,” Swift shouted after him.

“Ok!” Legacy turned and smiled at him before running off.

There was about a two minute silence before Rainbow got up and walked to the tent entrance.

“And where do you think you’re going?” Swift asked.

“To look for Legacy, something’s up I can just tell,” Rainbow walked out of the tent desperate to find her friend, but something or rather somebody stopped her.

“Psst,” Rainbow looked up to the tent and was surprised to find a boy not to much older than she was sitting on a tree nearby. He almost looked like a prince through Rainbows eyes. He wore something along the lines of this…

With a sword holder on the belt. The sword was decorated by beautiful moonstone and the blade looked somewhat lighter, almost glowing. He also had a light blue cape the tied onto him by a pendant of a beautiful moonstone. His hair was a bluish silver color and he wore a moonstone ring with a sterling silver band and a watching that was glowing. Everything about him screamed light so Rainbow figured he was dependable. “Have you noticed anything strange around here?”

“Not except for you,” Rainbow answered truthfully, “Who are you anyway?”

“I guess I see nothing wrong with introductions,” He bowed down to her, “My name is Last Legacy, protector of Paris and
knight and swordsman of the white star. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Madam…”

“Rainbow Dash,” she answered, “You said your name is Last Legacy?”

“Yes,” He nodded respectfully, “Is there a problem?”

“No, it’s just,” She took a deep breath, “I have a friend named Last Legacy.”

“I see,” He scratched his head right behind his cat ear, “Well, my name sure is popular right now. Are you sure he doesn’t have any other name, because we ran a thorough test of this back at my school. Oh well, just ask him for me, ‘kay?”

“Yeah, sure,” Rainbow nodded.

“And just call me if you see anything suspicious,” and with that Last Legacy bounded away.

What a strange boy, Rainbow thought before continuing to look for Legacy.

Down on the track Miracle seemed to be running for her life. Currently, she was battling a girl from room #3 which seemed to be the only real competition. Miracle was close behind her, but the girl just kept speeding up. Swift has told her to take the high route the girl took the high route, when he asked her to use the bars the girl used the bars. She seemed unbeatable and didn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.

Miracle decided that it was time to pull her wild card. Carefully, she approached the girl from the outside and attempted to pass her, but her efforts proved pointless.

‘Hey Miracle, you’ve been going for a good twenty minutes by now, keep up the good work and try to hold our spot instead of passing her.’ Swift said into the earpiece.

Miracle followed her directions and held her spot, running close behind the girl who still wasn’t showing any signs of slowing up.

Soarin watched out of the window and it seemed like room #3 and #10 were the most interesting to look out. To be completely honest, he could care less about the race, a lot of other things on his mind. He was taken out of his daze by tapping on the window. He got up, walked over and looked around, but couldn’t find anyone.

“What are you doing Soarin?” Spitfire asked.

“Thought I heard something, but I guess not,” He sat back down in his chair and his eyes suddenly shifted back to the race.

Fleetfoot and Spitfire shared worried eye contact before they did the same thing as Soarin. Just sitting and watching the race in complete silence made them aware to a knocking sound on the door. Fleetfoot glanced at Soarin in hopes that he would get it, but Spitfire did instead. She walked to the door, turned the knob, and opened it. Last Legacy (The knight one) was standing there with his perfect posture and serious expression. He bowed down to her, his expression when he was looking at the ground was nervous, for about two seconds before looking up at her.

“Um, can I help you?” Spitfire asked, raising an eyebrow at the young man.

“Hopefully you can,” He said before Spitfire let him in, “I was wondering if you’ve seen any suspicious behavior.”

“No, we haven’t,” She answered truthfully, “Why?”

“Well, it’s my job,” He provided a minimal explanation, “Could you alert me if you do?”

It was Fleetfoot’s turn to talk, “Sure, but how?” She agreed, but was glancing down searchingly at his sword, slightly intimidated.

Legacy noticed this and turned his belt so that the sword was out of her view before smiling for a second and continuing. This shocked Fleetfoot and she began to think.

“Just say ‘Connect Polaris of White’ and then explain what you see,” He turned back around to walk out of the room, but said one more thing, “Thank you,” He turned and bowed his head respectfully, “You have done a great service to the crown.”

Spitfire closed the door and turned to Fleetfoot and crossed her arms expectantly.

“Why did you help him?” She asked.

“He was being nice and to be honest it didn’t look like he meant any harm. If anything he’s trying to protect us,” Fleetfoot snapped back.

“Right,” Spitfire sat back in her chair and Fleetfoot did the same.

“So,” Soarin started, looking at Fleetfoot, “Is that really the reason, or was he really cute?”

“C’mon Soarin,” Fleetfoot groan, “He was pretty legit and that’s the real reason why I decided to help him. Besides, when I was frightened by his sword he turned his sword belt so that I wasn’t anymore. Then he smiled at me and he has the cutest little smile because he kind of blushes and and closes his eyes. Plus, it helped that he was really adorable.”

“But I wonder where he’s from,” Soarin pondered.

“He said something about service to the crown, so maybe he works for Celestia,” Fleetfoot suggested.

“Maybe,” Soarin said, Or maybe something else all together.

Last Legacy walked until he was far enough from the door and raised his watch up and spoke into it.

“So, Felix would you like to explain to me now why you’re making me ask everyone about suspicion?” He asked and raised an eyebrow.

The glow left the watch and the ball of silver light floated down until it was directly beside Legacy on the floor. The light manifested into a black cat with light blue eyes before dissolving back into the watch.

“The wielder of the Sword of Hell escaped his cell,” Felix responded solemnly.

Panic found its merry way onto Legacy’s face, “Seriously, he escaped, but how?”

“Well, they most certainly didn’t let him out,” Felix stated matter-of-factly.

“This is a problem,” Legacy’s expression changed into seriousness, “Should I call Eragon and Skyler?”

“They should already know,” Felix stopped walking and turned to him, “And Besides, they’ve already devoted their lives to you as your followers, your highness. So if you get in trouble with the devil boy then they’ll be there.”

“I’m starting to think I should go back tonight,” Legacy sighed, “It’s for the best.”

“I’m sure everyone misses their prince,” Felix began to walk again.

“I have an idea,” Legacy offered, “Let’s watch the race together, Felix.”

“Sure kid, but you still remember how to climb trees from Ian, right?”

“Of course,” Legacy laughed, “I’ve been doing these dangerous escape routes for much longer than I’ve known Ian. I can assure you I still have my luck.”

“You never did grow out of your rebellious stage from when you were thirteen,” Felix teased.

“Yeah, yeah,” Legacy began to climb, “And tonight everyone will finally get to see one of their princes of Sirius.”

“Ok Gale,” Swift started, “Go and meet Miracle in the pit and wait until she makes it to the tent before you start.”

“Aye, Aye, Captain!” Gale ran out of the tent.

“He’s going to burn all of his energy before he even starts,” Rollo said quietly, but Swift heard him.

“You’re acting more like your normal self now,” he paused to correct himself, “Or at least the person I remember you being.”

“I understand,” Rollo muttered to himself, “This isn’t like me, really not even to be here in the first place, but for some reason I felt compelled to do so.”

“I-“ Swift started, but was interrupted.

Last Legacy (Not the one watching the race) stood in the doorway panting and everyone’s attention was brought to him.

“Sorry… I’m late… Couldn’t find the bathrooms… came back…” He caught his breath, “I thought I was going to be late for the next racer, since Swift told me to be back before that time, so I panicked and ran.”

“Well I guess navigation is not your strong suit, huh Mr Perfect?” Rainbow asked teasingly.

“Well, the bathrooms weren’t exactly the main focus of the tour,” He deadpanned, “And using that name in that context is kind of contradictory, don’t you think?”

Everyone was so focused on Legacy that they failed to notice Miracle standing directly behind him. She noticed all eyes on her.

“I’m sorry I failed,” Miracle apologized.

“Don’t say that,” Legacy said in a calm, but strong voice. “You did a great job and got us into a great place.”

“B-but I-“ Miracle’s eyes widened as she realized that Legacy reached out his hand and place it on her shoulder. She looked into his bright silver eyes and soft smile. He cared and that’s what killed her inside.

“We’re lucky to have you on our team,” Legacy looked into her eyes sincerely, Her eyes!

On our team, Legacy’s words echoed in her ears. Miracle pulled away and hid her face, “I don’t deserve your kindness, Legacy. Please understand.” She turned and ran out of the tent.

“Miracle?” Legacy’s eyes wavered. He looked like he was about to follow her, but Rainbow grabbed onto the back of his shirt.

“Look mister, I’ll go,” She let go of his shirt and he turned in her direction. “The last thing we need is for you to take a detour to the bathroom.”

“I’ll go,” Swift stood up and walked over to Rainbow and Legacy, “I’m helping to.”

“What about your job?” Rainbow asked him.

Rollo stepped up, “I’ll do it,” He sat down on the chair and put on the headset, “You two go ahead, I’ll handle Gale and you handle Miracle.”

“Ok then,” Rainbow grabbed onto Swift’s sleeve and pulled him out of the tent, “Let’s go!”

“I can run by myself!” Swift snapped at her.

“Yeah, well then hurry up!”

Their voice faded into the distance and Legacy swore he saw Rollo smile slightly. On the other side of the tent Helmer sat watching the exchange with Cyclone. Well not really with Cyclone he was pretty much doing his own thing. He wore a fedora, a trench coat, and smoked a fake cigar like some detective.

“What a strange bunch we are, huh Helmer?” Cyclone asked his ‘companion.’

“Very strange indeed,” Helmer pondered deeply before Cyclone surprised him by sticking his cigar in his mouth.

“Miracle! Are you in there?” Rainbow called out as she and Swift searched the compound.

“She ran away from us,” Swift deadpanned, “She’s not gonna respond if you call for her, genius.”

“If you’re gonna criticize my tactics then search on your own,” Rainbow snapped.

“But you’re the only one who knows your way around this place,” He complained.

“That’s not my problem,” Rainbow stated.

There was a long pause between the two as they continued the search.

“Why do you think she was so weird with Legacy?” Swift asked trying to change the subject.

“I don’t know,” Rainbow shrugged and glanced around before turning back to him, “But I think if any of us went up in that moment then she would’ve done the same thing.”

“Yeah, I’m sure you’re right,” Swift sighed, “But it’s weird because she seemed so out of it.”

“Well, when you run a race and push your limits,” Rainbow opened another door, “Afterwards, you can seem like an airhead.”

“True,” Swift agreed.

Secretly two blue eyes watched their conversation.

“Besides, when you think about it the system sucks,” She walked into the bathroom, but Swift could still hear her voice echoing, “You run into the pit and then straight to the tent and if you take time to catch your breath you’ll lose your place.”

The eyes spotted a shadowy figure behind a poster and when it turned to look his way the figures eyes shone like fire.

“The wielder of the Sword of Hell,” The eyes kept back behind the wall and the whole body once again became visible. Felix, the black cat. “I have to warn the prince right away.” He bounded off.

Miracle sat in the stall sobbing quietly to herself before she heard the door open.

“Miracle, are you here?” A voice that she immediately recognized as Rainbow Dash called out.

She tried to quiet the sound of her sobbing, but she couldn’t.

“I’m sorry Rainbow Dash,” She whimpered, “I just don’t know what came over me.”

“Sometimes things happen that are out of our control,” Swift’s voice came from outside of the bathroom.

“And some problems that we have need to be faced head on,” Rainbow added.

“But we saw you try and for that you are stronger than you may think,” Swift complicated truthfully.

“One of my friends told this once…” Rainbow started, “Just remember, that your friends are always there for you and ready to listen, and I found it to be true first hand.”

“So please come back,” Swift pleaded.

Miracle opened the door and her eyes brimmed with tears, she walked out of the bathroom into the hallway with Swift. She hugged them both.

“You are the best friends a girl could ever ask for,” She whispered to them.

“Then we’re glad you asked.”

In the forest Legacy (the one who has a friend named Ian) stood on one of the high branches of a tree, leaning against the trunk and watching his watch as the glow became brighter and brighter as Felix grew nearer and nearer. The watch glowed with full intensity and Legacy looked down to see Felix standing there panting. Legacy jumped down, landing softly and sinking into the landing with his weight shifted back over his heels.

“What’s wrong?” Legacy asked and he stayed down at the cats level.

“The wielder is here,” He answered simply.

“What!?” Legacy exclaimed, “But why?”

“Don’t you assume that he would want to take on his fiercest opponents first?” Felix asked the prince.

“My brother,” Legacy thought aloud, “he is his fiercest opponent, but the wielder wants a fair fight. So in order to give my brother something to fight for he wants to eliminate me first.”

“And he knows you’re still weak,” Felix warned, “But that may not be the only reason he’s here and we’re here.”

“What do you mean?”

“I can sense the presence of loyalty,” Felix explained, “All of the Elements of Harmony live here in Hollow Shades. In fact,
one girl in particular is here at this moment.”

“Interesting,” Legacy smiled, “See, nothing to bad to worry about.”

“What exactly are you saying, my prince?”

“I won’t be fighting alone,” His cute smile helped Felix soften his expression.

“And your aide and your advocate, Eragon and Skyler, will quite possibly be here as well,” Felix pondered.

“More like my mother and my advocate,” Legacy mumbled humorously.

“Come now,” Felix warned teasingly, “Don’t make fun of Eragon when he isn’t here to defend himself.”

Legacy chuckled, “Yes sir,” He smiled with an intent of not showing his annoyance “I have a feeling Ian would be here alongside those two if he could,” Legacy chuckled again and shook his head, “Even though that isn’t his job, and now that I think about it his job has nothing to do with it, he still wants in on the action. You know how Mr. Popular is. He wouldn’t miss out on his fair share.”

“He was almost left as weak as you were in your final battle, yet he still remains the same brute that he was before the whole process began. I understand though, that he is one of the people that you trust and depend on and care about.”

Legacy bore a soft expression, “Just don’t say that to his face, or else he might start offering to sleep with me at night or something strange like that. I swear he trusts me too much.”

“I don’t feel that way to him, so these feelings are up to you, Your Highness. You might be better off talking to Skyler about this kind of thing next time, at least she shares your point of view.” Felix made sure to explain it clearly for no misunderstandings.

“Eragon, Skyler.” Legacy listed off the names, “It sure has been a while.”

Felix nodded respectfully before relaying the bad news. “Unfortunately, your brothers must remain in Sirius and probable the rest have to stay with Class 0.”

“It’s for the best anyway,” Legacy agreed, “Besides, we wouldn’t want the wielders battle to be over before mine even begins.”

“You Polaris, are a strange being.” The shadow figure with the eyes that burned like fire muttered to himself from a tree a bit farther away, “But don’t think you’ll win. I will do the same to you as I will do to your brother and don’t think I’ll go easy on you because you’re weak. So don’t underestimate the power of Hellfire.”

Gale really and truly ran like a gale wind. He had so much speed and power that he seemed to be shooting through the course. His one issue was the obstacles, but Rollo noticed something else.

‘What are you thinking about?’ He asked through the earpiece.

“Obstacles,” He answered through gritted teeth.

‘Stop thinking about that.’

“I can think about whatever I want to think about do you want to know why?” He didn’t wait for an answer, “Because I’m a Man!

‘Think about running straight ahead,’ Rollo ignored his comment.

“But, I’m not running straight, right?” Gale was confused.

‘You have to make yourself believe that you are, then the obstacles will become second nature,’ He offered his idea with no hesitation.

Gale tried this method and he found that his mind was clear and when the next obstacle came around he was able to get over it right away. He was so in awe that it worked that he kept doing it again and again not mentally aware of how much time had passed.

“Hey dude,” Gale called out.

‘Yes?’

“Thanks,” He answered.

‘It’s my job,’ Gale knew that Rollo was right, but what he didn’t know was that he was smiling.

After Rainbow Dash, Swift, and Miracle returned, Rainbow headed straight to where Legacy was sitting.

“Hey,” She sat down beside him.

“Oh, hello again,” Legacy smiled and waved at her. “I haven’t seen you since you forced me to stay here.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Rainbow dismissed, Ok, so how do I ask Legacy what his real name is without making it awkward. “Hey Legacy?”

“Yes?”

“Is Last Legacy really your name?” Rainbow mentally slapped herself, Way to not make it awkward.

“Well not exactly,” Legacy’s mood dropped, “And despite what you might think I wasn’t born in Cloudsdale either.”

“Wait, what?” Rainbow blinked several times, “You’ve been lying to me.”

“No, no,” Legacy dismissed the thought and held his hands up like he was about to be arrested, “It’s not like that at all!”

“Then how is it?” Rainbow asked. It came out a lot more spiteful than she meant for it to.

“I didn’t lie to you Rainbow Dash, I would never do that to anyone, because I know how it feels.” He took a deep breath before starting his explanation, “Do remember what I said when I first met you?”

“Yeah, ‘My name is Last Legacy,’ and ‘I just moved here from Cloudsdale,’” Rainbow answered.

“Exactly,” Legacy pointed out, “I just moved here from Cloudsdale and I am from Cloudsdale, are two different things. I was living in Cloudsdale during the summer and then moved here before the semester started.”

“So where are you really from?” Rainbow asked.

“Well you’re inquisitive,” Legacy muttered, “I moved here from Paris, France.”

“Paris, France?” Rainbow asked. Then she remembered what a certain stranger said to her earlier, ‘My name is Last Legacy protector of Paris.’

“My name was Nathan Bernard, son of Benjamin Bernard of B and B co.” Legacy/ Nathan listed off, “Front cover model and the most beloved faces of the company. A picture of flawless perfection, they said, perfection perfection perfection, they said.”

Rainbow heard Rarity mention something about some adorable teenage Persian model sometime in the past.

“Wait, was?” Rainbow tilted her head in confusion.

“Yeah, was,” Legacy muttered quietly.

“Was…” They sat in silence for a minute before Legacy spoke again.

“I wanted a change of pace and leave the locked up life with no opportunity to be free,” Legacy explained, “But of course that wasn’t the only reason.” Legacy fidgeted with his fingers, “In Paris we had two superheroes or ‘protectors of Paris.’ Well there was this battle and my father, well maybe he wasn’t the best father, but he didn't deserve what he got. Well, maybe he did and I didn’t know why.”

“What were these protectors names?” Rainbow asked inquisitively.

“Last Legacy and Ascendancy,” He answered quickly.

“Last Legacy, huh?” Rainbow glanced at him critically.

“Yeah, that wasn’t intended,” Legacy scratched the back of his head, “Back home, before I left, I asked a woman named Katherine who worked for my dad what a good name to fit in in to Equestria was. She gave me a list and said that there is only one Last Legacy so that became my name.”

“So what was he like, Last Legacy I mean?”

“He was the sidekick of unspoken words,” Legacy explained, “The people knew that Ascendancy was the true hero though. I guess he didn’t get all the attention he deserved, but all that he wanted. After that I’m not so sure.” Legacy thought aloud, “But he was heavily involved in the incident and right now, to most who don’t know the full story, he is anything, but a hero. I see, just like I did he’s trying his way at a new start in Equestria.”

“Oh right, he’s here now,” Rainbow thought aloud.

“Yeah,” He nodded, “Wait how do you know that?”

“He asked me if anything suspicious was going on.”

“Same, and I told him about Miracle’s eyes.” Legacy agreed.

“Her eyes?”

“Yep, they were red and fiery when I was talking to her,” Legacy answered.

“And you don’t hate him?”

“No, because I understand what my father did.”

Author's Note

Ok, so this chapter is more about everything happening during the race than the actual race itself. I cut this chapter short because of an issue that I was having, but the next one will be out soon.

About our favorite new character Last Legacy (Not Nathan, but the other guy) he is the second prince of Sirius. His watch is a source of the magic power directly from a magic star called, The White Star. I can’t tell you much more about him, but I can tell you more about Felix. Felix is a snarky, wise old cat who’s made some past mistakes. Legacy actually made some similar ‘mistakes’ as well, but that involves Nathan’s father. Felix wasn’t origanlly a cat, he was something more powerful. A virtue, he was a part of a group called the Knights of the Virtue. He is the virtue of hope and that will be explored more a bit later.

Now talking about Nathan. I love this guy and I think you will to, but it may take some time. Right now it might sound like he’s being secretive and maybe not a great friend, but he is only doing this because of his father. Legacy really did do something terrible to him, something even worse than death, but his father did something terrible to. I guess now you see why parents are a sensitive subject for him. For his mother, I don’t have much on her yet, but she was an amazing woman and who he strives to be everyday.

Hmm, two more things! That room #3 is a special little thing, huh? I wonder if anything strange is going on over there.:pinkiegasp:

And that little scene with Rollo when he’s back to his ‘normal’ self also hints something that happened with our favorite elements.

Remember your suggestions are always welcome! Until next time, Appledashery out!
