Having A Friend Over For Tea

Twilight Sparkle was sitting in her room when Rarity came over, Twilight opened her door and greeted her friend with a hug, she was a bit surprised as her friend didn't say that she would be at her place at early but she told her she was coming over at a later time but she realized that it didn't matter.

"Rarity how are you doing? Would you like to drink some tea with me?" Twilight asked, Rarity frowned as she didn't want Twilight to go through any trouble making her tea, she responded to Twilight's offer.

"But then if I want tea you will have to go through all that trouble making the tea, I appreciate the gesture but I don't want to force you to make it." Rarity said, Twilight shook her head.

"Your not forcing me to make some I want to make you some!" Twilight said, Rarity was relieved that she wasn't imposing a duty on her friend as her friend wanted to do something with her.

"Yes I would like some tea then, sorry I was just concerned." Rarity said, Twilight nodded as she understood what Rarity meant, Twilight got up and went to the kitchen, Rarity waited for her patiently she even read one of Twilight's books for a bit, finally Twilight came back with a tray and knelt as she put down the tray.

Rarity looked up with curiosity from her book as Twilight sat on her knees comfortably and took the top off the kettle which had some water in it and then she got out a tea paste and put it in a mixing bowl.

"Um Twilight...I've never seen tea...prepared this way...I just put it in a kettle and then put a packet into the cup and pour it, what is all this?" Rarity asked, Twilight chuckled as she prepared to respond while she mixed the tea.

"It's an ancient Equestrian tea ceremony that existed way before The Banishment of Luna, it's been around for a long time and it's still used to this day, I read about it in the book Ancient Equestrian History Volume One and I researched it." Twilight said to Rarity while Rarity looked on in fascination.

"Do you prepare tea like this all the time when you want to have tea?" Rarity asked her as Twilight finished mixing the substance and then set it down, she then heated up the kettle and spoke to Rarity.

"Not all the time but I certainly like to do it." Twilight said as she smiled, Rarity nodded as Twilight set down the mixer and took the bowl and held it in her lap, Rarity looked at the bowl. After a while the tea was done and Twilight turned off the pot and gently poured the water into the bowl.

She then took the mixer and stirred it softly and then took a sip of it and then gave Rarity some of it to drink and then Rarity took a few sips of the tea and realized how much she loved it, they both drank it and then Twilight rinsed it out and wiped the edges.

"Wow that is good! This experience is so much more gratifying than just simply heating it up without any care, may I get a guide on how to do this." Rarity asked, Twilight smiled and handed her a sheet of paper.

"I'm glad you think that, It's a shame that it's not practiced often as it was practiced often along time ago. Here you go, you can keep the guide, if you want you can also check the book out of the library about the practices." Twilight said.

"Thank you Twilight I certainly appreciate it, it is a shame that it isn't practiced often." Rarity said, Twilight frowned and nodded, they cleaned up the area and Twilight gave Rarity the book and checked it out for her and Rarity talked for a bit more and then it was time to leave.

"Well Rarity I hope you had a good time talking to me and watching me show you that! I know I did as thats usually my favorite way I prepare tea even if it includes more work and care in preparing the tea. Im glad you appreciated me taking the time out of my day to show you that." Twilight said.

"I did, you should serve tea like that again! Maybe I should serve tea like that when i have guests who want tea when they are over at my place!" Rarity said, Twilight smiled as she was glad that Rarity enjoyed her preparing the tea for her.

"Maybe I will, I will have to see if I can fit that into my schedule as its usually considered longer than that but I shortened it up because I know you have to get home to Carousal Boutique, we both have work to do tomarrow and we need to be up early." Twilight said.

"That's okay Twilight I'm glad we hung out even if it was over tea as the tea preparation was awesome. See you!" Rarity exclaimed as she left with the book. Twilight waved goodbye and then closed her door, she sighed as she had dishes to clean now.

"I guess I should get to work on the used utensils and kettle now that they are dirty..." Twilight said as she groaned that she had extra work to do though even if she had extra work to do she didn't regret showing Rarity about the tea, cleaned the dishes including her tea supplies and then relaxed for the rest of the night as she was glad she was able to do that with Rarity and she was glad Rarity enjoyed it to.

The next day she returned the book to Twilight and thanked her for letting her check out the book and they agreed they would do that again, Rarity then went back to Carousal Boutique and and worked for the rest of the day while she had the tea ceremony on her mind. She was glad that she had a knowledgable friend like Twilight.
