Luna's pov

Luna stood on her balcony and raised the moon so night would fall over the land of equestria.

After most of the ponies in canterlot went to sleep Luna decided to take a nightly stroll through canterlot.

Luna walked through the quiet streets of canterlot until she heard a noise that sounded like trash cans falling over. "Who's there?" she said out loud as she turned her head to the where the noise came from and noticed something run into an allyway. She walked over to the alleyway to see what it was

Luke's pov

It was nighttime now in the city Luke was in, he liked the night but he was scared of being out at night alone. He was also hungry, so he decided that it was safe to go out of the alley now that there were no ponies to be seen. As he walked out of the alley he saw a blue horse with a horn and wings and flowing hair with stars in it that made it look like the night sky.

Panicked, Luke quickly turned around to run back into the alley but accidently knocked some trash cans over. "Who's there?" he heard the pony say out loud as he ran into the alley. He ran deeper into the alley but there was a dead end. He turned around and saw the horse approaching him. Seeing that there was no way out, he curled into a ball and prepared for what was going to happen.

Luna's pov

Luna followed the creature into the alley and she saw the creature curled into a ball. The creature looked up at her and her eyes widened in shock. What was this creature? It was nothing she has seen before. The creature looked like something Luna heard Twilight describe from her mission on the other side of the mirror, but she could not remember what they were called. It had short blond hair, beige skin and was wearing a thin green shirt and red pants ( Luna doesn't know what pj bottoms are because ponies don't wear clothes).

The creature's eye's widened in fear and it buried it's head into it's knees. Luna gave A sympathetic smile and rubbed the creature's back gently with her for hoof. "It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you." she said in a soothing voice. The creature looked up at her "There see? I won't harm you." She said. "I am Luna, princess of the night, what is your name child?" She asked.

"My name is Luke." He responded with a shy tone.

"It's nice to meet you luke, may I ask how old you are?" Luna asked.

" I am five years old miss." Luke said.

'Five? What is a child this young doing out hear all by himself?' Luna thought. She then noticed the Red mark on his cheek and gasped.

She laid her hoof on Luke's cheek, "What happened?!" She asked worriedly.

Luke remembered the slap from his father and the painful memory made his lips quiver and tears threatened to escape his eyes. "I don't want to talk about it." He said as he began to sob.

Luke then felt two forelegs wrap around him and pulled into what felt like a soft warm chest. Luke looked up and saw that it was Luna, with a sympathetic smile, giving him the hug. Luke hugged back and sobbed into her chest. Luke felt pain for a long time and no one was there for him, but now Luke was getting what he never had before...comfort.

"I'm sorry for bringing up something that could be too painful to talk about." Luna said sympathetically.

After five minutes of crying Luke's sobbing died down to sniffles "Do you feel better Luke?" Luna asked.

"Mm hmm" Luke said meekly.

"Luke, would you like me to take you to my home?" Luna asked as she and Luke broke the hug.

"Are you sure miss Luna? I don't want to impose." Luke said as he wiped a tear from his eye.

Luna smiled at his polite manners. "You wouldn't impose luke, I just don't want to leave a young child out here by themselves, and you don't have to call me miss, just Luna is fine." Luna said in a caring tone.

Luke thought about it for a minute "O-okay."

Luna smiled as she bent down so Luke can climb on her back. "Hold on tight Luke." she said, Luke wrapped his arms around her neck after a moment . Luna then flapped her wings and flew back to the castle. Luke looked down and saw that he was high up causing him to hold onto Luna a little tighter. Luna noticed this and said "It's okay luke, you won't fall, I promise." Luna said in a comforting voice.

She arrived at the castle onto her balcony and walked into her room. She levitated Luke off her back and onto her crescent moon shaped bed and put a blanket over Luke but heard Luke's stomach growl. Luke blushed and Luna giggled at is blushing.

"Are you hungry sweetheart?" she asked.

"Yes miss Luna." Luke said

"Would you like me to get you something to eat?" Luna asked

"Yes please" Luke said

Luna went to the kitchen and got a bowl of pineapple slices, grapes, and strawberries and brought to Luke.

Luna gave the bowl to Luke and he started eating. When he finished he let out a small burp. Luna giggled as Luke blushed. Luna gave Luke a kiss on the forehead "goodnight luke." she said as Luke closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
