After most of the ponies in canterlot went to sleep Luna decided to take a nightly stroll through canterlot. Luna walked through the quiet streets of canterlot until she heard a noise that sounded like trash cans falling over. "Who's there?" she said out loud as she turned her head to the where the noise came from and noticed something run into an allyway. She walked over to the alleyway to see what it was Luke's pov It was nighttime now in the city Luke was in, he liked the night but he was scared of being out at night alone. He was also hungry, so he decided that it was safe to go out of the alley now that there were no ponies to be seen. As he walked out of the alley he saw a blue horse with a horn and wings and flowing hair with stars in it that made it look like the night sky. Panicked, Luke quickly turned around to run back into the alley but accidently knocked some trash cans over. "Who's there?" he heard the pony say out loud as he ran into the alley. He ran deeper into the alley but there was a dead end. He turned around and saw the horse approaching him. Seeing that there was no way out, he curled into a ball and prepared for what was going to happen. Luna's pov Luna followed the creature into the alley and she saw the creature curled into a ball. The creature looked up at her and her eyes widened in shock. What was this creature? It was nothing she has seen before. The creature looked like something Luna heard Twilight describe from her mission on the other side of the mirror, but she could not remember what they were called. It had short blond hair, beige skin and was wearing a thin green shirt and red pants ( Luna doesn't know what pj bottoms are because ponies don't wear clothes). The creature's eye's widened in fear and it buried it's head into it's knees. Luna gave A sympathetic smile and rubbed the creature's back gently with her for hoof. "It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you." she said in a soothing voice. The creature looked up at her "There see? I won't harm you." She said. "I am Luna, princess of the night, what is your name child?" She asked. "My name is Luke." He responded with a shy tone. "It's nice to meet you luke, may I ask how old you are?" Luna asked. " I am five years old miss." Luke said. 'Five? What is a child this young doing out hear all by himself?' Luna thought. She then noticed the Red mark on his cheek and gasped. She laid her hoof on Luke's cheek, "What happened?!" She asked worriedly. Luke remembered the slap from his father and the painful memory made his lips quiver and tears threatened to escape his eyes. "I don't want to talk about it." He said as he began to sob. Luke then felt two forelegs wrap around him and pulled into what felt like a soft warm chest. Luke looked up and saw that it was Luna, with a sympathetic smile, giving him the hug. Luke hugged back and sobbed into her chest. Luke felt pain for a long time and no one was there for him, but now Luke was getting what he never had before...comfort. "I'm sorry for bringing up something that could be too painful to talk about." Luna said sympathetically. After five minutes of crying Luke's sobbing died down to sniffles "Do you feel better Luke?" Luna asked. "Mm hmm" Luke said meekly. "Luke, would you like me to take you to my home?" Luna asked as she and Luke broke the hug. "Are you sure miss Luna? I don't want to impose." Luke said as he wiped a tear from his eye. Luna smiled at his polite manners. "You wouldn't impose luke, I just don't want to leave a young child out here by themselves, and you don't have to call me miss, just Luna is fine." Luna said in a caring tone. Luke thought about it for a minute "O-okay." Luna smiled as she bent down so Luke can climb on her back. "Hold on tight Luke." she said, Luke wrapped his arms around her neck after a moment . Luna then flapped her wings and flew back to the castle. Luke looked down and saw that he was high up causing him to hold onto Luna a little tighter. Luna noticed this and said "It's okay luke, you won't fall, I promise." Luna said in a comforting voice. She arrived at the castle onto her balcony and walked into her room. She levitated Luke off her back and onto her crescent moon shaped bed and put a blanket over Luke but heard Luke's stomach growl. Luke blushed and Luna giggled at is blushing. "Are you hungry sweetheart?" she asked. "Yes miss Luna." Luke said "Would you like me to get you something to eat?" Luna asked "Yes please" Luke said Luna went to the kitchen and got a bowl of pineapple slices, grapes, and strawberries and brought to Luke. Luna gave the bowl to Luke and he started eating. When he finished he let out a small burp. Luna giggled as Luke blushed. Luna gave Luke a kiss on the forehead "goodnight luke." she said as Luke closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. She thought he needed a bath, so she took him to her bedroom where she opened the door to her private bathroom. It had white marble walls and a blue tile floor. A sink in the corner next to a toilet, and a bathtub. Luna levitated Luke off her back and set him on the floor as she started to get the bath ready. She turned the knob as water started to spray out and turned if off when the tub had enough water in it. "Would you like bubbles in the tub?" She offered. Luke thought for a moment "Yes please." Luna then levitated a bottle of soap and poured it into the tub creating bubbles. "Alright Luke. Your bath is ready." Luke started to take off his clothes. When he finished, he was levitated in Luna's aura and set into the tub. He sighed as he relaxed. Luna then took from her cabinate a bar of soap, a brush, and a pitcher. She levitated the pitcher and filled it with water from the tub, levitating it over Luke's head. "Close your eyes sweetheart." Luke did so as he felt water being lightly lured on top his head making him giggle. Luna smiled and levitated a bar of soap and a brush, rubbing them together. She then scrubbed Luke with the brush as he smiled. After that Luna poured more water from the pitcher onto Luke getting rid of all the soap on him. "Alright Luke are you ready to come out." "Yes, Princess Luna." Luna's aura then levitated Luke out of the tub and he was placed onto the floor. Luna levitated a towel over and dried him up. Now that he was dry Luna set the towel on the floor and gave him his clothes. When Luke got dressed Luna wanted to ask him something. " Luke, Would you like to meet some friends of mine?" Luke was shy about meeting others "Um...I don't know, Princess Luna." "Dear it'll be okay. They won't hurt you." Luna smiled. Even though he just met her yesterday Luke had a little trust for Luna, because she was showing kindness to him unlike his parents. "O-okay, I'll meet them." "Excellent. I will Wright to them to come here." Luna said as she and Luke headed out the bathroom. She sat on her bed as she took a piece of paper and a quill. Dear fellow Princess Twilight Sparkle. Last night I found a human child in Canterlot. I would like to invite you and your friends to the castle to meet him. Please do be careful, he is very shy. Please treat him with the utmost kindness you can give him. -Luna She rolled the paper up in her blue aura and in a moment disappeared to be soon burped out by a certain dragon. "Luna?" Luke asked quietly. "Yes sweetie?" Luna responded. "Um...do you think they'll like me?" Luna pulled Luke over to her chest "They will adore you. I promise." //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue A boy walked into his bedroom rubbing his sore cheek, with a red mark on it, his lips were quivering and his eyes were teary. It was like this on some nights where his parents would tell him he is pathetic and weak and ending it with a slap. Luke was a five year old boy, with short blonde hair, who dealt with a sad life that no child should go through. There was a time when his parents loved him but they ended up turning to drinking. His dad would hit him sometimes when he was drunk and his mom would call him pathetic and say he was a mistake in their lives. His dad gave him a slap across the cheek earlier because he told him to stop being a baby while his mom watched. Luke changed into his pj's, which was a thin green shirt and red pj bottoms, crawled into his bed and looked at the night sky through his window. The night sky was something that Luke would look at because just looking at the stars numbed the pain radiating from his cheek. It was so quiet, so serene. So peaceful. It was, in his mind, an ideal to strive for. After five minutes of looking at the sky he was about to go to sleep for the night until he suddenly noticed a bright yellow glow around him. 'What is happening?' Luke thought fearful of what might happen. Then the yellow light became brighter to the point it was blinding, causing Luke to cover his eyes. Luke opened his eyes seeing that the light was gone and expecting to see himself in his room but he was suddenly in an alleyway and it was day suddenly. 'What happened? How did I get here?' Luke thought. He poked his head out of the alley expecting to see a street full of people, but instead it was a street full of ponies. What surprised Luke was that some of these ponies were unicorns and pegesai. What also surprised Luke was that he noticed some of them talking. Luke ran back into the alley to hide before any of the ponies noticed him because he was shy around other people and was afraid they might hurt him due to the abuse from his parents. ' Where am I?!' Luke thought as he hid himself from the ponies in the alley. Author's Note This is a fanfic that I have been planning for years. Until next time //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Luna's eyes slowly opened as she woke up from the couch in her room that she slept on. She walked out onto her balcony to lower the moon so her sister, celestia, can raise the sun. After she lowered the moon and watch the sun rise she walked back into her bedroom to wake Luke up. She gently shook Luke "luke, it's time to wake up." she said in a soft voice. Luke's eyes slowly opened and saw Luna smiling down at him. He sat up in the bed to stretch his arms as he yawned. "Good morning princess Luna." He said. Luna smiled at Luke "Good morning sweetheart." "Good morning luna" said a voice as the door opened. Luke was surprised at seeing another winged horse with a horn and hid himself underneath the blanket shaking in fear. Luna noticed this and gently removed the blanket from him and said "It's okay luke. She won't hurt you." she said as Luke slowly looked up at celestia. Celestia was surprised at seeing Luke but stayed calm so she won't scare him. "Hello child, don't worry, I won't bring any harm to you." she said soothingly. "Luke, this is my sister celestia, princess of the sun, celestia this is Luke." said Luna "H-hi princess celestia, it's nice to meet you." He said nervously "It is a pleasure to meet you as well Luke but you don't have to call me princess, just celestia is fine." she said in a kind voice."I was coming to bring Luna down to breakfast, would you like to join us?" she said then Luke nodded. "Luke, would you like to ride on my back to the dinning table?" Luna said "Are you sure miss luna? I could be too heavy for you." Luke said "Your not heavy luke, I can carry you on my back with no problem." said Luna "Okay but can I climb on your back?" Luke asked "Of course Luke." said Luna as she bent down so Luke can climb on. When Luke climbed onto luna's back she and celestia walked down to the dinning room. When they arrived they sat down on comfy wooden chairs with purple cushions. Celestia sat at one end of the table and Luna sat at the other end of the table with Luke. Chefs came into the dinning room with a plate of pancakes for celestia and a plate with an omlete for luna. "Chef, can you please bring something for Luke?" Luna asked the chef. The chef nodded and Luna asked Luke "what would you like Luke?" "Um, scrambled eggs please?" Luke asked The chef nodded and left to go get scrambled eggs for Luke. "Luke if you don't mind me asking what are you?" Luna asked politely "I'm a human." Luke said It was clear now. Luke was a human just like the humans from the other side of the mirror yet Luke didn't seem like he came from that human world. The chef returned with the scrambled eggs and gave them to Luke and left the dinning room. Luke took a bite of his eggs and smiled. "Do you like it Luke?" asked Luna "Yes miss luna, I like these eggs." said Luke happily. "I'm glad you enjoy them" said Luna 'how did Luke end up in an alley?' Luna thought.
