Author's Note
This is my first story so be gentle, I wanted to say Marble speaking in Italics, is Marble thinking to herself in her mind, not aloud.
Start of Something New.
“What have I done?!” I allowed my violet irises to scan across my empty room in horror, perhaps for a route to escape or maybe a nice dark place to hide.
My breathing became rapid as my heart bounced within my chest like a parade march during a festival. I couldn’t keep my hooves still for the life of me, I wanted to just vanish from this world and fade away into the abyss.
“Yo Marbs!” The door to my room swung open. I could have sworn it was locked, but then again my sister Limestone bucked it hard enough that the frame cracked around the edges.
“Mmmhmm?” I squeaked out in fear.
“It is time. C’mon let's go.” Limestone sighed in slight annoyance, her voice as cold and icy as ever.
“Hmm.” I folded my ears back sadly, it was far too late to hide or practice fading away.
I swallowed a large lump in my throat, dragging my hooves across the floor slowly while following my sister out into the cold chilly hallway.
“I had to agree to such a promise. One that would destroy everything I held dear.” My mind shouted out loudly, I had to bite my lower lip hard to prevent myself from eeping.
Limestone nudged my flank hard as she pushed me into the living area of our house and onto the path of my doom. My whole body shaking uncontrollably as I locked my gaze onto the floor, violet hues burning twin holes into the old stone floor.
“Oh my! Oh my! Oh my!” I could hear those hoofsteps coming closer, each loud click of the hoof sealing my fate further.
“Marble! I’m so happy that you agreed to stay with me for a week!” Pinkie yelled out in excitement as she pounced from across the room, tackling me hard onto the floor with ease.
“Mmm.” I sighed aloud in a whisper, a look of worry on my face while my sister planted kiss after kiss on my cheek.
“I hope you are ready to P.A.R.T.Why?- because you need to make some memories to treasure with your all time favorite sister!” Pinkie scooped my body easily into her hooves, crushing me hard in a vice grip of a hug.
“Hmm.”
“Make sure to write never!” Limestone smirked wickedly from across the room.
“You’re not going to miss her?!” Pinkie gasped aloud in shock, dropping me to the floor with a thud.
“Are you kidding? With Mom and Dad out of town, I’m dying to have the farm to myself!” Limestone flaunted her hooves across the whole house, eyes burning with thoughts of wild adventures.
“Phst. Limey-Limey-Limey.” Pinkie shook her head side to side slowly, her bright blue eyes locked onto her older sister.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Limestone snarled back a little at unease.
“Oh you.” Pinkie inflated her cheeks a bit and shook her head again.
“Stop that!” Limestone snapped.
“...” Pinkie pulled off another shake of the head.
“...” A evil glare was shot.
“...” A shake once more took place.
“Grrr! Whatever I’ll do my work, then enjoy myself!” Limestone snapped and stomped out of the room in anger.
“Heehee! I totally learned that trick from Fluttershy!” Pinkie leaned in close to me, whispering those words hidden behind a slender hoof.
“Mmmhmm.”I nodded along.
My sister giggled as she gave me a playful nudge to the shoulder and suddenly just gazed up towards the ceiling in deep thought. An odd silence filling the room as I watched my sister in growing worry.
“You know. I’m happy you agreed to come stay with me, I act all bouncy at times but the truth is, I’ve really wanted to spend time with you.” Pinkie sighed as her ears folded back, trotting over to a old family picture and tracing the wooden frame.
“Wow! I’ve never seen Pinkie act this way.” I lowered my eyes a bit, I was worried of trying new things or exploring new places.
But in the end my sister just wanted to spend time with me, to have a whole week alone to just become closer. I slowly walked up behind Pinkie, hooves embracing her in a warm and gentle hug.
Her ears perking up sweetly as she spun around with a bright smile, tears forming around the corner of her bright blue eyes.
“I’d never ask you to do anything, you felt uncomfortable with.” Pinkie spoke her voice filled with the same nervous touch my mind raced with.
“I...I’d love to spend the week with my sister.” I could feel the words escape my lips, in a soft whisper that could barely be heard even within the empty room.
Pinkie just stood in shock at the fact I even spoke up, her lips stretching wider as it formed into a joyous smile. My sister bursting out into giggles wildly before she bounced around me at top speed.
“We’re going to have so much fun! Staying up late, making each other breakfast and after a long day of fun!- We’re going to gossip!” Pinkie squealed aloud in a hyper tone, her hooves clapping together in a blur.
I watched Pinkie bounce upstairs, in a rush to grab the bags I had packed neatly the night before. My nerves were on edge sure, but I had to break free of this fear of the unknown. Who better to help me than my own sister, I just hope I can keep up with somepony so amazing.
I looked out the window to enjoy one last gaze upon the family farm, yet instead of a elegant sunset or a calming silence of the coming night. I was greeted by Limestone pushing a large cart of stones across the wide open fields.
“You happy Pink?! I’m finishing my chores!” she snapped loudly from the distance, eyes burning with growing anger.
I bit my lower lip gently, eyes quickly darting away from the sight.
“Hmm.” I gently tugged the window down, closing it with a soft click.
