Well, buck. You ever see the destruction of your home universe? It’s a depressing sight for anypony. All your friends and family gone forever in a void of nothing, watching them disappear and fade to nothing, as you escape only by the skin of your teeth with a pony into this weird door that he pulled out of nowhere. Well okay, I haven’t been telling the whole truth. I escaped the collapse of my home with 3 other ponies, my best friends, and now the only other things that remember our world.

Okay, Light Stepper was just looking over my shoulder told me that I should likely start with what happened to our home and why we are jumping from world to world. And since she’s the one with the books tattooed on her flank, I figured I best listen to her. Well this all started this morning (does time matter still or what?), I was sleeping in my ops center in the Avenger’s mansion when Kyle-214 comes blasting through the door shouting for me to get moving and get out now. He quickly explains that Discord, the mad titan, has started something and our world is starting to fall apart at the seams.
“What about our bosses dude? What happened to the Avengers?” I asked as I grabbed my glasses, goggles, saddlebags, and headphones.
“They were the first to go, the spell went off and they all just froze in place as the color was sucked out of them” He replied.
“You mean they were discorded?”
“Not quite, it was more like only the outlines of a drawing were left in the wake of the spell and beyond that nothing”
“Oh sweet Luna, we’re boned! So what’s the plan oh fearless leader?”
“Well the girls are going to meet us in my room. I have something there that can help us escape.”
“Back to wherever you came from?”
“God no, as much as I miss my home world we can never ever go there. I just plan on using this and letting the grace of Celestia take us wherever we go.”
“Sounds like a real solid plan” I snarked as we ran down the halls of the mansion finally coming to Kyle’s room. Kyle just turned around and bucked open the door instead of messing with the knob. We rapidly followed the now broken door into the room where a worried Light Stepper and Rain Dasher where waiting for us.
“Ladies” I said as Kyle ran to the other side of the room and started to mess with this weird disc thing. “So how are you taking the ending of the world?”
Light replied with a raised eyebrow “Not as calmly as you seem to be taking it. Have you been smoking the clover this early in the morning? Or did you just take your daily dose of salts?”
“Hey Light, I don’t do salts for the millionth time. Just because I praise earth pony tech over unicorn tech doesn’t mean anything. And that one time was a we-never-talk-about-it-again thing remember?” I grumbled back
“Will you two not get into it with the loss of everything and everypony we ever loved happening right now!” Dasher yelled at us with tears in her eyes.
“Sorry Dasher” Light and I chorused.
“Hey ponies I just got this open and we should get going now!” Kyle yelled back at us. We all took a look at each other and said our goodbyes as we each dived through the portal in turn.
On the other side of the portal was the empty white plane that we are currently on, but to our surprise there was an Alicorn standing there waiting for us. She was as white as the Sun Goddess but with a red main and tail, and a pen in a ink well for a cutie mark.
“Queen Faust, it is an honor to meet you again” Kyle said as he bowed to the Alicorn. He then gave us all a glare that commanded us to kneel as well.
“Rise my little ponies, you don’t have to bow to me” The Queen said in a soft, gentle, voice. “I know what has happened to your world, your version of Discord found a spell which allowed him to suck the life out of the world and turn it into pure power. The only advantage we have is that it takes a very long time to finish the whole process. So we have a long time in order to be prepared when he tries to pass into another universe.”
“There is more than one universe?” Light Dancer interrupted
“Yes, there is my daughter. Many with the same ponies, but in several of these universes there are ponies known as the unique. They have no other pairing in the multiverse. You four are such ponies, meaning I had to intervene in order to save the gems of my creation. All of the unique are especially dear to me. But you four each have a interwoven fate that is crucial in order to save all ponies everywhere.”
“What is that fate your highness?” I wondered.
“You are to go through the multiverse and gather powerful artifacts from each universe you encounter. When you have gathered enough I shall appear to you and lead you back to your home. Once there you will stop Discord and restore what was once yours.”
“So my mom and my aunts, they aren’t gone forever?” Dasher asked of the Queen
“That is right, and now I need to talk to each one of you individually, starting with you Kyle.” The pony in question stepping forwards. “You my son, I have drawn you forth from your home once before, and now I am making you fight again. I’m so sorry, but alas it must be done for the greater good. If I had my way, you would be able to retire and never have to draw your blade again. But as that was not to be, I will give you my advice in the upcoming quest. You shall be the rock of the group, you will be the one to get them through their fights. You shall grow into your title of The Leader, you shall inspire and insult ponies everywhere you go. Please try to do the first more than the second.” The Queen finshed with a smile and moved on to Light Stepper.”
“Next Light Stepper, you shall meet several versions of my daughter’s greatest student. Ask each and every one of them for their knowledge. You shall need these talents as your ordeal goes on. You will also encounter many other masters of magic, once again don’t be afraid to approach them for knowledge and grimores. You shall become a fount of knowledge and your collection of scrolls and books shall be rivaled by none, you shall be known as the Scholar. Also please don’t take Hard Drive’s bait every time, it only encourages him to be dumb”
“HEY!” I shouted
“Oh my son, you know it is true.” Queen Faust said sticking her tongue out at me “ But it is your turn after all. You shall find your place and your soul shall be at peace on this trip. But I shall warn you temptation shall be presented 3 times to you, and if you take it the multiverse is doomed. The other 3 shall die in the attempt and Discord shall devour everything, perhaps not in your lifetime or your children’s’ lifetime. But withstand these 3 and you shall be known as the Engineer, for you shall learn of the technological magic in an earth pony’s mind and use it to its full potential.”
All throughout this talk, Rain Dasher had been crying over the loss of her mother, her aunts, her life. She couldn’t cope with the fact that the mare who birthed her and raised her has suffered a fate worse than death. “Why did you have to leave me mother, why didn’t you at least stay behind and say goodbye before you left?” She sobbed quietly as she felt a hoof underneath her chin.
“Dry those tears my little one.” The alicorn raised the pegasus’s head. You’re mother is not gone completely and your friends need you here and focused. As Kyle is the rock you are the heart. You are the one there with kind words and a hug when somepony needs you. Your kindness shall be known throughout the multiverse and you shall be known as the Healer. You shall heal ponies hearts, and you shall let them tell their secrets.”
“You four shall be known as the Travelers” She said as she faced the whole group. “You shall follow the magic signatures that you get and you shall find the artifacts. They attract to the unique, so there should no difficulty in finding them. Taking them is a different story all together. But to help you all in this quest I shall give you each a set of saddle bags that you can place anything in and they can hold anything you need them to. These items will come to hoof when there is need of them. Now I must leave and go back to my place and be with King Chet. Good luck on your quest my children.” And with that last statement and a flash of blinding light she left us. Kyle started to fiddle with that disc of his, and I sat down pulled this out of my old saddle bags and started to write while it was fresh in my mind.

BIOS
There is the only other stallion, and earth pony, in the group, our fearless leader Kyle-214. No one knows about that man’s history beyond a few years ago when he showed up on Rain Dasher’s door step badly burned and scarred. He has this weird blue double bladed weapon that he carries around all the time and only seems to work to his mental commands. It’s also his cutie mark and what got him hired on as mansion security. As for the stallion himself? Well he has a dark brown coat with light brown hair, glasses, and is always wearing this ninja star around his neck. He is a sarcastic ass at times, but he cares for us all none the less. He claims he never knew his parents, saying that they died before he could remember anything but I can give a good guess by the way he look up to Iron Pony.
Then there’s Rain Dasher, best friend and secret keeper of all. This pegasus filly is white coated, expect for the blue rings around her eyes. She’s got a locked heart cutie mark, explaining her former career as a therapist. She’s nothing like her famous mother Captain A-mare-cia in public, instead acting more like her “aunt” the element of generosity. In private however, she acts a little bolder and little looser with her tongue. She was in charge of the Avenger’s mental health via executive order, but no hero came to her because they didn’t want their private lives being exposed to anypony. She was also drafted, many many times, into being the new Scoots for the new Captain A-mare-cia. She failed, a lot giving her a small fear of the captain. She didn’t have her mother’s serum passed down making her the black sheep of the family. And that is one of two ways to get her really pissed is bringing up her superhero career or her inability to perform any variant of Sonic Rain boom, the other is hurting one of her friends.
And we got our team publicity officer and wizard, and second biggest bookworm, the unicorn Light Stepper. The mare is freaking tall, white as the snow, with a blue mane. Her talent is writing, being able to dance around pony’s feelings making her the perfect fit for such a delicate job. She is also obsessed with finding more of Twilight Warlock’s works and notes. She clams the day she found her first grimoire written by the cosmic mage was when those rack of books showed up on her flank. I have yet to read this book, or in fact see it. I think it was something more of writing an apologetic letter for some foal-ish transgression that got her that mark, but hey what do I know. She is also the party’s expert on magic tech, a fact that she never lets me forget. Her Parents were Canterlot nobles, I remember something about savvy pants and a flower. . I met Light Stepper on the job with the Avengers, we became fast friends and faster rivals with her always taunting my inability to call upon unicorn magic.
Finally you got me, Hard Drive. I’m just a simple tan earth pony stallion, with a brown mane and a video game cutie mark. Before you ask about my name, my family is a long line of transport and farming ponies and they didn't quite get why my name was a bad idea. I was hired on to do I.T work and due to the fact no video game company would hire an earth pony, due to hoof sized keyboards being impractical, I had to take it. I am not bitter about it at all and I don’t take pills to keep cutie mark failure insanity syndrome from taking me over. As long as I mentally make 2 small games a day and keep wearing my goggles, the doctor said I should be fine. My job is being the technology expert when there is zero magic involved in the tech. I can count the amount of times that has happened on a hoof. Fracking Unicorns and their bucking magic dominating the freaking tech industry. I kind of wish I could learn how to use that stuff, nopony makes things only earth pony magic can use. Don’t tell anypony, but I personally can’t tap into any earth pony magic besides the above-average strength. Anything I plant dies, animals all hate me, and I can’t keep my balance for anything. I swear I was just hired cause I'm friends with Rain Dasher and Kyle.

So that is my frist chapter of my frist Fan Fiction, please give me feedback! The next world we are visiting is Warren Hutch’s Windfall and Earth and Sky Universe. They are really good slice of life stories and worth a read for anybody who likes that kind of thing. And thanks to my little sister for drawing the characters for me

We stumbled through the portal into a dark alleyway with a big cart just sitting in front of us.
“Where are we, oh fearless leader?” I asked wiping some of the dirt out of my coat
“It seems to be in the middle of Canterlot’s poor section, other than that no idea.” Kyle replied as Dasher flitted over and looked in the cart.
“Wow, Queen Faust wasn’t kidding when she said we would be attracted to the artifacts. Dudes I think I found the first one by the vibes it’s giving off. It’s making my wings go out of control”
“When is that new?” Kyle snarked
“Awwww, now I’m sad” Dasher putting her head down and just perching on the cart in her own gesture of shame and sadness. “You sound just like aunt Scootaloo when she tried to train me.”
“You know I didn’t mean it”
“Yeah but still can I have a hug?” She said taking the appropriate stance
“No, not while other ponies can see us!” He snorted in reply
“Fine…..NOT! As my aunt would say” The silly mare flew off the cart and tackled the stubborn earth pony. Luckily for us all, there was a massive pile of trash behind them, meaning we didn’t just lose our leader and our secret keeper in one go. While Light went over to lend a hoof, I just facehoofed and went to go see what was in the cart that was so important that we must have it in order to save our home.
What I saw was the coolest damn thing I saw in my life. It was 2 sets of batwings strapped to a rocket that was painted to look like a shark or maybe the painter really thought that was what bats really look like. But the really fun part was the fact that the creator had put a rig underneath the contraption, meaning this is a flying machine for earth bound ponies! My only complaint was they didn’t have any kind of system in place so that an earth pony could use the rig. I then knew whoever built this thing was just some mad horn head trying to become an alicorn, forgetting as every other freaking evil “genius” does that you also need to be part EARTH PONY to become a true one. “Guys, guys, guys, guys. I call dibs on this! Just needs some changes here and there and your basic earth pony can fly this wonderful, mad, destructive flying machine.”
“I am so pleased you like my machine, but”
“OUR machine now brother.”
“Oh fine, our machine. As was saying, is it not customary for the owners of anything to have ‘dibs’ as you called them.” Two unicorns stallions had started to walk around the cart from where we couldn’t see them. Both were a tan color with the strangest cutie marks I had ever seen. The first one, currently glaring at us with a large poofy mustache ( that mustache) (Get out of here Dasher! Don’t mess with my journal, I’m trying to spread it throughout the worlds as a warning to everypony else), had a set of skull and cross bones as his. The second one looked a lot more haggard and had a grouping of bats as his cutie mark. “So I would suggest you step away or we shall have to use drastic force!”
“Who are you?” Light stepped up to the cart and finally started to do her main job.
“I am Professor Destiny, brilliant genius and inventor of the B.A.T 19!” the first one almost shouted in our face.
“And I am Doctor Insanity! Equally brilliant genius and better inventor!” the second one said, though almost more to Destiny then to us.
Light just had to speak up at that moment “Wait a moment. I know you two. I remember this designing style. I have spent hours and hours on end defusing them, or trying to find out if they have not destroy the world setting. You two goons are the Fli”
“WE ARE NO LONGER KNOWN BY THAT NAME! WE CAST THAT NAME AWAY YEARS AGO!” They both started to shout.
“Wait, how could she tell that? Their cutie marks are totally different from back home” I asked Kyle
“Well maybe this is a darker universe, ever think of that oh smart one?”
“Well I never thought that these 2 con artists could amount to something like those marks. Huh the Fli”
“STOP SAYING THAT! DO NOT SAY THOSE NAMES OR OTTO WILL SHOOT FREELY!” At that outburst from Insanity I finally noticed a short green thing that I guess could be a pony aiming a massive cannon right at our little group.
“Umm guys, look behind the two loopy brothers. I spy a big old cannon pointed at us….ummm…I nominate Kyle to take my spot now!” And like the smart stallion I am, I dove right behind the colt with big energy blade and the mare with the shield spell.
“Coward” Kyle laughs at me,
“Hey I’m still alive aren’t I?”
“True” He then draws out his plasma sword and sputters through his mouth “Light, maybe you best do your whole diffusing angry ponies thing to them. Dashier you prepare to get her out of harm’s way, with flight if you can but knowing you, you better just glomph her out of the way. Drive, just stand behind me and try not to make too much of a target”
“Now gentleponies perhaps we could talk over this calmly, perhaps I could just borrow your notes and help you build another one.” Light said.
“Yeah maybe even improve it, you know an earth pony could add a whole new perceptive. Maybe even make it even less geared towards pompass donkey’s with their horns up thei.” That rant just got me Dashier’s hoof in my mouth and a death glare from Light. Kyle on the other hoof just started to crack up at it.
“What did he say?” Asked Destiny
“Should I light the cannon bozz?” said the little green thing in the back.
“Not yet Otto, I want to hear what this mud pony has to say frist”
“MUD PONY! You pompous jerk! I’m goina shove that horn so far up your flank”
“Ahh, it’s fun to bait the lesser intellects. Now you where saying my dear? Why should we let you walk off with the tool to our success and the crushing defeat of Harmony Aeronautics and the princesses little pet?”
"Because you could change a few things here and there and you will be able to need to use one set of wings. Less problems that way you see, and we can cut down on the smoke output. Overall I can see a lot things you would need a third set of eyes to catch, and I'm volunteering to be that third set of eyes." Light quickly tried to get past my seething rage.
"Well that's very kind of you, but you see that still doesn't let you just run away with our stuff" Destiny replied "So I do regret my associate will have to escort you away from our property. Otto? Fire away as you please. Don't hit our cart though. I placed some of our equipment for the race coming up, and we don't have time to go back home to get more."
"Yezz bozz, i wont'z hitz the rocketz." And with those words Otto aimed our doom.
"Hey Light, sugercube, don't you think its time to use that spell you were telling me about earlier? Shining Nova's shield spell?" Dasher murmured out as she was taking cover behind the cart. "Cause now might be a good time to use it to save our butts."
"Ohhh yeah, hang on to your flanks everpony! I have no idea if I can do this properly" Light started to concentrate as a large magenta bubble went up around us.
"Guys now might be a good time to tell you. The next portal we need is going to open right behind us" Kyle chimed in "So Light if you could move the shield foreword we could make our escape"
"Ummm I don't think I can sorry guys. Looks like we have to survive this first shot and hope that he can't reload in time." And with those last few words the cannon fired and the last thing I can remember is the shield starting to warp inwards until.
(Yes, this is a cheap cliffhanger, but Drive just had to pass out. And if you accuse me of being too out of character with anyone they meet, I would like to say Hard Drive isn't the best or the most reliable narrator in the world so they are all warped by his perception.
