Da bake de cake!!!
"No!" Twilight Sparkle screamed as the purple monstrosity came crashing down on her. Maybe it will at least taste good this time. She thought too herself as she licked frosting off her nose. Gagging she spat it out. Getting up she crossed another item off her checklist.
"Twilight! I was having the best dream!" Spike said as he entered Twilight's study, an annoyed look on his face. He was having a dream about rescuing the fabulous damsel Shmaroty and being her knight in shining armor.
"Sorry Spike, but I'm trying to bake a cake for Pinkie Pie." Twilight said using magic too hurriedly pull books off the shelf.
"Twilight, Pinkie Pie can just make her own cake." Spike said yawning. He was clutching a blanket and his Rarity plushie in his claw.
"Yes Spike, but Pinkie Pie's birthday is coming up." Twilight said quickly scanning over several books.
"And?"
"And I want to make a special cake for her birthday."
"Why can't you just use magic?" Spike said yawning.
"Spike does Pinkie use magic when she bakes a cake? No!"
Spike looked around Twilight's study, books and cake were strewn everywhere. He walked into the kitchen too see a similar mess. Sighing he went back to Twilight.
"Twilight it's already midnight! Can't you do this in the morning?"
Twilight put down the book she was reading. "I suppose you're right Spike. But first thing in the morning then."
Twilight tucked Spike into bed. Then she went to bed herself.
"Oh Starlight!" Twilight yelled as she ran down the hall too Starlight's room. She was about too eagerly knock on the door when she saw a note.
Hey Twilight,
I'm going with Trixie too Las Pegasus!
Be back in a few days!
Don't worry about me!

Las Pegasus?! Twilight said concerned. Taking a deep breath she relaxed herself. Starlight was a grown mare, she could go with her friend too Las Pegasus if she wanted. She briefly thought about quickly teleporting there too check on her. "No, no, Twilight, you don't want to be overbearing."
Twilight looked at the baking goods she was holding with her magic, and sighed. She then carefully made her way too Spike's room. She gently opened the door. Spike was still asleep, and mumbling something about saving Shamarity. Twilight gently rubbed his side.
"Shmarity?" Spike said drowsily.
"Good morning Spike." Twilight said gently.
"Ahh, Twilight. I wasn't saying anything!! I uh had a dream about clouds! Yeah clouds! Got get them clouds!" Spike said nervously.
"It's okay Spike, I know about your little crush on Rarity." Twilight said jokingly. Spike blushed at this.
"Hey Spike, how would you like some jewel filled pancakes?"
"Really? Aw man with rubies, and emeralds and-" Spike stopped himself. "Whoa wait a second. You never make me jewel pancakes, unless it's my birthday, or you want something!"
Smiling Twilight held up the baking goods. Glaring the little dragon grabbed his plushie and snuggled back into bed.
"Spike I need your help baking this cake!"
"Twilight it's not even time for me too get up yet! And you said I could sleep in on Saturday! This is Saturday!"
Smiling Twilight leaned into his ear. "My number one assistant wouldn't let me down would he?" Spike sat up after hearing this.
"No I wouldn't." He said a little grumpily, but smiled when Twilight patted him on the head.
"How about afterwards I take you too the spa and bake you those jewel pancakes?"
"Uh I don't know Twilight... can't we do this tomorrow?"
"I heard Rarity say that she was going to the spa today with Applejack..." Twilight said nonchalantly.
"Rarity will be there!" Spiked said excitedly. The purple dragon looked at his claws. "I mean I've been thinking about getting a manicure anyways."
"Okay Spike. Come too the kitchen when you're ready." Twilight said giggling at her friend.
When Spike entered the kitchen the room was already covered in cake batter, frosting, and flour. Spike licked some off of the wall. The oven dinged and Twilight took out the cake. She took a bite then spat it out.
“Ugh! This is still disgusting!” Twilight said throwing the cake away.
“Uh Twilight.” Spike said approaching the alicorn.
“Oh! Spike you’re here! Grab me some more flour while I mix these eggs.” Twilight said cracking several eggs inside of a bowl. Spike went to the cupboard and grabbed a bag of flour. Spike and Twilight continued to cook several cakes like that for awhile.
“Okay that last recipe was a bust, but let’s try it with pineapple this time!” Twilight said excitedly grabbing several ingredients. Spike cute up the pineapple and placed it in the batter “Let’s put this one in the oven, that way we can start making the next one immediately!” Twilight said levitating the cake into the oven.
“Uh Twilight we already made a lot of cakes. I mean shouldn’t we wait until that one is done cooking, that way we know if it tastes good?” Spike asked his friend.
“Oh Spike we have to make the best of the best! This is Pinkie Pie where making this for!” Twilight said hurriedly making another cake. Spike rolled his eyes and continued to help. Soon they were done making the next cake and the oven timer dinged. Twilight took out the cake and cut herself and Spike a piece. Twilight spat it out.
“You know it’s not actually that bad.” Spike said with a mouthful of cake. Twilight scraped the cake into the garbage. She then put the next cake in the oven. Twilight and Spike where tired from baking for the last several hours so they decided to take a break while they waited.
Spike read one of his Power Ponies comics and Twilight read one of her favorite books. “History Of Equestrian Magic Volume 568”. Ooh this is my favorite part! Twilight thought eagerly to herself. The oven timer dinged. Twilight spat out the cake again.
“Disgusting! All of my cakes were disgusting Spike!” Twilight said annoyed and disheartened at her failure.
“Come on Twilight, you know Pinkie Pie won’t care if you don’t get her a cake. She’ll just want to spend time with you.” Spike said patting Twilight on the back.
“Spike, Pinkie Pie is my friend, but well…” Twilight said trailing off and blushing.
“Twilight we’ve been friends since I was a baby. We’ve known each other our entire lives. You can tell me anything.” Spike said giving his best friend a hug.
“I know Spike, and I love you for that.” Twilight said returning the little dragon’s hug. “To be honest the reason I wanted to bake Pinkie Pie a cake for her birthday, is because I have a crush on her.”
Spike was taken aback. “Twilight! I had no idea!” He said hugging her even harder. “ Even though I probably won’t have a chance with Rarity, I’d love to spend more time with her. Listen Twilight now that I know what this is really for I’ll do my best to help you bake the best cake Pinkie Pie has ever seen!”
Twilight giggled at her friend's statement. “Alright Spike you better keep your promise!” Twilight said jokingly ruggling the little dragons hair. They went back into the kitchen only find that they had used all the baking ingredients in the castle. Quickly they made their way to the supermarket.
It was getting close to noon, and remembering the promise she made to Spike about going to the spa, Twilight wanted to get home as soon as possible. When they got home they immediately started baking another cake.
“Spike! I need more flour!” Twilight shouted stirring some batter as she took another cake out of the oven.
“Here!” Spike said tossing it across the room .They went on like this for some time before they were both exhausted. Eventually Spike decided to take a break. He went to the library and started looking at the books there. One book caught his eye. “Star Swirl’s Magical Delight’s” . Opening the book revealed that it was full of recipes for several baked goods. He flipped to the section about cakes. There was a recipe titled “Atomic Delight”. It was for a seven layer chocolate cake. And the description said “This cake is to die for.” Spike brought the book to Twilight.
“Spike! I said I didn’t want to use magic!” Twilight said pushing the book away and continuing to mix.
“But Twilight the recipe doesn’t call for magic. It’s all normal ingredients. “ Spike said pointing at the book. Twilight read the ingredient list and the instructions and saw that he was right. Twilight sighed. Well it is to die for. She thought resolving that this was as good as anything.
Twilight and Spike began to bake the Atomic Delight. Melting and combining the chocolate with the batter. Both of there mouths watered as they followed the baking instructions. Eventually it was time to put it in the oven.
“Oh man I can’t wait to try it!” Spike said licking his lips.
“It does look good doesn’t it?” Twilight said giggling at Spike.
They both went to go relax while they waited for the cake to bake. After some time they heard a knock on the door. “I wonder who that could be?” Twilight said going to answer it. When she opened it Derpy hadn’t stopped knocking so she hit Twilight in thee face. “Ouch!” Twilight said as she was repeatedly smacked.
Derpy shrugged and gave Twilight her mail. “Sorry Twilight.” Derpy said before leaving. Twilight looked at the letters. Bills, bills, bill for damage Rainbow Dash caused to Mayor Mare’s house, bills, tax refund for all the tourist revenue I bring in, bills, Oh! A letter from Thorax. Twilight thought to herself as she flipped through the letters.
“This one is for you!” Twilight said handing the letter from Thorax to Spike. Spike read the letter.
“Thorax is inviting me to the annual changeling gourd fest! And he said I can bring a plus one!” Spike said excited. “Do you think Rarity would want to go?”
“I’m sure she’d love to, if she can find the right outfit.” Twilight said giggling. Spike chuckled at Twilight’s joke. Not long after that the oven timer dinged and they went to get the cake. However when they took it out of the oven, it looked a bit different then when they put it in.
Namely the cake now had a face. It was also screeching , causing its mouth too open very wide. Both Spike and Twilight were terrified. “Ahhhhh!!” They both screamed as they ran out of the kitchen.
“Spike I thought that was a recipe for a normal cake!” Twilight shouted.
“It was! Unless you did something different from the recipe!” Spike yelled terrified at the chocolate monstrosity in the kitchen.
“I have no idea then! Maybe the cake is just inherently magical! The cook book was written by Star Swirl the bearded after all!” Twilight said taking a peek in the kitchen. “Spike on the count of three we charge in there and confront that thing. One, two, three!”
Spike and Twilight ran into the kitchen and started down the Atomic Delight. “What are you? How are you alive?” Spike yelled terrified of the monstrous cake.
“Glub glub glub. I am Atomic Delight! Cake love devourer! I feed off of shipping, and shipping was mentioned in the same kitchen I was made in! Star Swirl considered me a failure because he didn’t believe people were pretentious enough to ever ship in front of baking goods!” Atomic Delegith said cackling.
“Shipping?” Spike and Twilight both said confused.
“Yes! You two are TwiPie shippers! Therefore I was born! Now I must feed of of your TwiPie love!” Atomic Delight said lunging towards Twilight. But she dodged in time.
“What in Celestia’s name is shipping? What is TwiPie?!” Twilight said alarmed.
“I don’t know!” Spike said freaking out. He then began to breath fire on the cake.
“No! I’m melting!” Atomic Delight screamed in agony.
He wasn't dead however, he lunged at Twilight again. He then began to feed on her TwiPie love.
“Yes! The TwiPie is strong in this one!” Atomic Delight said savoring the sweet sweet TwiPie love.
“You don’t know me! I don’t know what TwiPie even is!” Twilight screamed trying to throw Atomic Delight off of her.
“You don’t know the power of shipping! Twilight I am your OTP!” Atomic Delight said sucking up the TwiPie love. Spike then breathed fire on him again. Twilight used this opportunity to levitate him and throw him against the wall. He exploded showering both of them with frosting. Spike licked the frosting.
“You know, he doesn’t taste half bad. “ Spike said. They both laughed.
“Well, I think it’s time we went to the spa.” Twilight said. “We’ll see about making the cake when we get back.
They made their way to the spa and Applejack and Rarity were already there. And Pinkie Pie came along shortly.
“So Rarity would you want to go with me to the gourd fest?” Spike asked the white mare.
“Oh of course Spiky wikey. I just need to find something to wear is all.” Rarity said giving her friend a hug.
Twilight scooted closer too Pinkie Pie. And then leaned her head on Pinkie’s shoulder. You know maybe I don’t need to bake that cake. She thought to herself as she snuggled closer to Pinkie Pie. A smile spread across her face as Pinkie Pie snuggled back.

So I wrote this awhile ago but I never finished it. Anyways I just wanted to write a story about Spike and Twilight. The TwiPie stuff only came as an after thought. Tell me what you thought. What could be improved, I'd really value that.
