Asking If It Would Be Okay
Twilight Sparkle was repairing a window in her castle, as she was doing this Spike walked up to her but Twilight didn't pay attention so she didn't see him, she finally turned around and saw him.
"Spike, I'm sorry I didn't know you were here I didn't mean to ignore you, I just need to get this done so I was concentrating on this alone and ignoring everything esle so I apologize." Twilight said as she felt bad for ignoring him by accident as she didn't mean to do that, Spike shrugged as he wasn't offended.
"Nah that's okay, no need to apologize but I was wondering if I could ask you something....if that's okay with you of coarse." Spike said to her, Twilight wondered about what Spike could possibly want to tell her.
"Sure go ahead as long as it isn't to weird as then I wouldn't be able to answer Twilight said to him, he looked at the ground as Twilight finished repairing the window so Spike could talk to her without anything distracting her from listening to Spike.
"Would it be okay....if I had a crush on Rarity as I couldn't help it...even though I'm a dragon and that interspecies relationships are a taboo topic? Are relationships between different species legal even? Can two species get married to eachother without getting into any trouble with the law?" Spike asked.
"It's been legal since twenty years ago, it's still controversial but to me it's perfectly alright if you have a crush on her, it's perfectly normal to go out with somepony that's another race than you, at least that's my opinion anyway." Twilight said, Spike was relieved he was afraid of the possibility of it being illegal.
"Would you mind if I asked Rarity out? Because I want to see if she has the same feelings for me and I want to see if we could make a relationship work out, if that's okay with you of coarse." Spike asked Twilight Twilight shrugged at Spike and responded to him.
"I wouldn't mind, If you have had a crush on her for a while so you go ahead and go for it, I'm pretty open minded if you remember! So it would be okay with me if you did that." Twilight told him, Spike hugged her as he felt grateful for her being open to the idea of him asking Rarity out.
"Thanks Twilight, wish me luck!" Spike said as he left, as he left his place he went to find Rarity, he tried to go over about how he would ask her out as he had never asked a mare out before, he hoped that Rarity wouldn't reject him.
He made it to where Rarity lived and hesitated as he had second thoughts but he knew he had to make a move now or his crush might fall in love with some other ponyand then went to knock on her door, but before he could knock on her door Rarity opened it and raised an eyebrow as she saw him.
"Spike what are you doing here? I thought you were at home? Don't you have work to do?" Rarity asked her friend, Spike didn't want to explain how he was able to be over there so he just gave her the short explanation so he could finally ask her out.
"No I don't have work to do, I needed to ask you something that you probably won't agree with, I know interspecies relationships are still controversial and I know of the fact that not many ponies like the idea of it but, will you go out with me, I've had a thing for you for a long time and I've just now acted upon my feelings so will you at least give me the chance of dating you?" Spike asked.
Rarity processed this information slowly as she didn't want to be confused about any details. She never knew of the fact that Spike was attracted to her as she thought that he always thought of her as a friend and not as a romantic attraction, but know as she remembered all the gifts he kept giving her it finally made sense to her that he had a crush on her, she spoke to Spike.
"Alright I'll give you a chance and if it works out well we can think about marriage, I've had a slight crush on you as well, plus it was kind of obvious to me that you were attracted to me so yes we can go out." Rarity told him. Spike couldn't respond as he was shocked.
"Thanks...." Spike said, as that was the only thing that he could think of to say as he was speechless since he didn't know that he would have any luck with asking Rarity, he was so happy that he didn't realize how happy he was. He didn't know if this was real or not he started to think that maybe that it was so good because it was a dream and he was asleep he almost had to pinch himself to make sure that he was awake." Rarity smiled.
"Bye Spike, see you later, I love you, I was hoping you would ask." Rarity said as she closed her door, Spike turned around and cheered silently, he couldn't believe how easy that was as he thought that Rarity would hesitate so he was lucky that she liked him a bit as well, he went home and told Twilight.
Twilight was proud for him as she knew that Rarity would say yes to him as Rarity kind of attracted to him as well. She was happy for Spike and her friend and couldn't wait to see if their relationship worked out, she hoped that he would succeed in their relationship and she hoped that they would stay faithful to one another and wondered if they would get married in the future after they were in their relationship for a while.
