"Oh yes. That's a lovely agreement that we can come upon, Your Highness." an aristocratic mare said to Princess Celestia.

"It is nothing that cannot be handled, Contessa. Once we go over the plans with the other officials, we should be able to build a more prominent partnership with your country. Why not start tomorrow" Celestia said with a smile.

"That would be a nice gesture Princess, but due to the differing opinions of the political spectrum, we may be delayed for two-three months."

"Three months? How come?"

"Well, the conservative side doesn't want any interference in our country, but the liberal side wants full support, and the two sides can't talk until both sides can come to an agreement."

"Hmm, and which side of the political spectrum are you on?"

"I'm on the central side, I do not tend to get involved with legal affairs. I would tell you more, but it's starting to get late, so we will speak about this further in two months time. Is there any objection to this decision?"

"Oh don't worry, take about as much time as you need. I will not interfere."

"Glad to know that I can depend on you, Princess." Contessa said as she left.

After finishing up with the other meetings and events, Celestia turned to her secretary and asked,

"How many more meetings are there, Ms. Knots?

"You have just reached the end of the day, Your Majesty. You are all finished up." Ms. Knots answered.

"Oh thank you..." Celestia said with a sigh of relief.

When she walked back to her kitchen for a meal, she couldn't stop thinking about all the talking that continued on and on about the problems between countries, helping sort out the arguments going on within the Canterlot Society, and having to sign all sorts of consents to ensure that there are no dangerous creatures in the Everfree Forest or elsewhere. After walking up the stairs, she saw Spike doing the dishes and not noticing her. It gave her a playful idea. In a teasing manner, she crouched down and slowly moved towards him, giggling quietly as she moved.

Having finally cleaned up most of the castle, Spike wiped off whatever sweat he had, stretched in an exaggerated manner, and arched a little bit at the sink.

"Phew. I thought would I never be finished." Spike said, looking at the now empty sink.

Just then, he heard a giggle come from behind him. He couldn't tell who it was, but he knew for a fact that it came from Celestia. When he turned around in a sarcastic manner, she was right behind him, scaring him.

"Cele-!" he shouted before being picked up and doused in smooches, with the final one being a deep french kiss on the lips.

"So how has my favorite dragon been doing?" she asked in a happy, yet tired manner after she put him down.

"Oh jeez... you have no idea what I had to go through today. I had to wash dishes, deliver messages, wait for a bunch of snobby ponies in their activities, and do NOT even get me started on Prince Blueblood." he said with tired annoyance.

"What did he do?" she asked.

"Well... he... he's just impossible to work with. He behaves like a kindergardener, he treats me like dirt, he hits me whenever I make a mistake, and I want to beat the crap out of him! Other than that, I had a good day," he shouted with great frustration. "What about you? How did your entire day go with the bureaucrats?"

"Same as you. It was so tiring. I had this meeting with this aristocratic official from Saddlenzia, I needed to participate in a Wonderbolt event, I had to participate with a signing of a legislature for Vanhoover with every colt staring at my breasts, I had to participate in a meeting held by Fancypants, and finally, Luna kept nagging me about when I'm gonna take her to that waffle house that had just opened up." she said in frustration as well.

"Really? A new waffle house?" Spike asked.

She gave him a scowl, then asked,

"Could you please with my upper back? It's been aching all day."

He moved towards her and started massaging her. As he continued to do so, Celestia asked,

"If we could spend a nice vacation somewhere, where would it be?"

"Beats me. If anything, we could go to Los Pegasus. They have a lot of good jewels that I really wanna try." he said with sparkles in his eyes.

"How about somewhere less crowded?" she asked, raising her eyebrow.

"Oh c'mon, I like jewels..."

She continued to give him a stern look as he massaged her.

"Okay then... where do YOU wanna go?" he asked.

"There was this place that I used to play in when I was a young mare." she answered.

"Oh? And where's that?"

"It's an old swimming hole that only me and my sister Luna knew about, and nobody else."

"Really? Where is it?" he asked with excitement.

She turned around towards him and said,

"I'll show you, but I can't tell you. Only me and Luna know where it is. Nobody else. Not even Twilight and her friends have a clue of its existence."

"Then how will I-"

"Don't worry. I will show you tomorrow."

"When?"

"After I clear my schedule."

"What? Won't the other-"

"I am going to tell them that I have gone to visit with Twilight and her friends with Luna."

"But how will-"

"Luna will be handling this state of affairs while I'm gone."

"Oh. Does she know?"

"Well, it's- it's yes and no. Yes, because she is aware that I'm stressed and I need a vacation, and no, because she doesn't know that I'm gonna be at the swimming hole with you."

"Hmm... I don't have any complaints, but what if-"

Just then, she completely turned around and kissed him, then replied,

"What mommy doesn't know, won't hurt her."

At a complete loss for words, Spike said,

"...Okay."

After that, they both got ready for bed and slept, completely exhausted from their duties. However, they were both excited for tomorrow noon.

I know that I've stopped on my other story, but I'm just taking a break and trying to find out what to write next for the next chapter. Anyway, this story is a bit of a "midquel" during Spike and Celestia's time with each other. I had this idea basically since a while ago. I know, I'm a big Spikelestia shipper, but what can you do? Just didn't know how to go about it. Anyways, enjoy!
