Author's Note

Sorry for the wait. I've been working on this for a month. I'm kinda stuck on a major point in Shattered and I have a new story in the works that won't leave me alone. A.T.G should have a new chapter in a week or so, if I can work out the last part of it and T.I.M should be updated as well.

A long time coming.

I came back to the land of consciousness with a gasp. Looking around, my mind took a moment to reboot before I realized I was in a hospital room. Closing my eyes, I fell back to the small bed before I felt another presence in the room with me. Turning my head towards where I felt it, I opened my eyes and was surprised to see Luna sitting there with a worried expression upon her muzzle. When she noticed me looking at her, she smiled and relief crossed her beautiful features.

"It's good to see you awake, brother. I was worried that seeing your daughter had triggered a negative psychological event that would take you from us."

"It was shocking to see my baby girl standing in front of me Luna. I had thought that I would never have to see any of them ever again." I closed my eyes for a second to gather my fractured thoughts. "Where's Ari? I figured she would be here, not that I'm complaining mind you." The Night Princess smiled briefly before answering me.

"She is currently with Midge trying to find what reason she is here and how. I volunteered to stay with you while she is...questioning her." I knew what that meant. Ari was probably grilling her to see who else has showed up. Luna must have sensed my unease about it.

"If any of the others are here in Equestria, we will either banish them or throw them into the dungeons so that you will never see them again. Celestia even agrees with what I said Tor" she stated while nuzzling me. "You are family and we will always protect our family."

"Thank you, Luna" I said wrapping my arms around her. In the time I've been here, I've found Luna to be a very kind and gentle being except when it comes to who she considered family. If someone was to harm any of her said family, she would literally drop the moon on their heads. Pulling away from my hug, she made a piece of parchment and a pen I gave her appear.

"Now that you are awake, I will let your mate know." She wrote a few sentences then sent the scroll on its way. "She should be here momentarily with or without your daughter." Pausing, Luna looked down to the floor for a brief moment before looking up.

"What will you do Tor?"

"I don't know. I honestly don't. I guess that depends on what she wants. Despite what she has done, I feel that most all of it was at the behest of her bitch of a mother. She was only twelve at the time and really didn't understand things. I remember walking out the court room hearing her ask Christy if she would still be able to see me. That's what hurts so much. To hear her say all of those things about how bad a father I was, then to hear her ask if she could still see me. That's why I always thought that she was coached on what to say."

"Your ex-wife is a cold hearted manipulative whorse of a woman. No, I wouldn't say that. She is far, far worse than that." I felt Luna kiss me on my forehead and when I looked up, she smiled again and pulled me into another hug.

"If she wants to be reconciled with her father, give her a chance, but if she doesn't? Well, I know just the spot on my moon to put her." I laughed while shaking my head. Since I've arrived here in Equestria, I've gained a family that truly cares for me. "Everypony deserves a second chance brother, especially your blood. I know this better than anypony."

"I know Luna. There is one thing I learned long ago. When it comes to their children, parents will always forgive them." I fell silent after said that. I sat there reflecting on the situation and what I had said. For a few minutes neither of us spoke until the silence was shattered by someone's knocking on the door. Looking at Luna, she smiled and nodded her head to encourage me to go through this. Clearing my throat, I spoke up.

"Come in." When the door opened, I was graced with in my mind a most beautiful sight. My mare stepped through with a bright smile on her muzzle after seeing me sitting up. I could see the relief in her eyes. Following her though was my biggest concern, my daughter.

"How are you feeling, my love" Ari asked as she trotted up to my bed and nuzzling me once she got to me.

"I'm ok I guess" I answered back stealing a kiss from my sweet mare for witch I got one of her cute giggles. Once our little reunion was done, I asked the big question.

"Alright, what's the story with Midge?" When I looked at her, she just lowered her head and looked away before she spoke.

"I know I have no right to ask this, but I want you in my life daddy. I didn't know what I was saying at the time. I was only repeating what momma wanted me to say. When I turned fifteen, I started to have questions about the whole thing." She closed her eyes and I watched tears run down her cheeks. "I can still see the look of heartbreak on your face in my nightmares and it hurts. I just want my daddy back." I couldn't help but look on with a heavy heart as my little girl cried. I first looked to Ari then Luna, both was nodding in agreement.

In one motion, I bent over and scooped up my daughter into a hug. She yelped before realizing what I had done, but settled into the hug and started sobbing saying "I'm sorry" over and over.

"It's going to take time for our hearts to mend over this little one, but as long as you want this, I want it too." Nodding, Midge held on to me as tightly as she could.

"Are you ready to be a mother" I asked Ari looking at her. Then I turned to Luna. "You and Tia call me brother. If that's the case, then you both have a new niece." Both mares looked at me in surprise before their eyes softened and they looked at the crying filly in my arms.

"She's just as damaged as me and will need all the support she can get like I do."

"She has a loving family now and a loving father" Ari answered while wrapping a wing around us.
