Arianna
Conversation with a goddess
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWaking up was a joy for me now. My eyes being drawn to the otherworldly beauty sleeping contentedly next to me. It was still dark out so I knew that Celestia hadn't raised the sun yet. I thought about that sentence for a minute. I was now in a world where two beings had the power to raise and lower celestial bodies. Oh well, I'll get over it. Easing out of Ari's grasp, I stood and stretched before turning to make sure I didn't wake her. Seeing a small frown crease her muzzle, I ran my fingers through her mane hoping she would settle again and with a sigh she did.
"Always did like that didn't you" I muttered with a smile on my face before I walked to the balcony. In the week I've been here, I haven't had the opportunity to watch the Sun Goddess do her thing and I figured since I was up, it would be a good time. Looking out over a darkened Canterlot, the thought struck me. I haven't left the castle once since my arrival. I need to rectify that I figure. A door opening to my right interrupted my musings and out walked Celestia. She had her eyes closed smiling the entire time. A glow started to surround her horn then bowing the sun followed as she raised her head. Reaching where she wanted it the glow left her horn. She stood there her head held high soaking in the light. After a few minutes basking, Celestia opened her eyes and looked dead at me. Smiling again, she unfurled her wings and jumped into the air, flying the short distance between the balconies. Landing, I held a finger up to my lips and gestured towards mine and Ari's door. She nodded and lit her horn, casting a quick spell.
"A silencing spell so we will not disturb her." I nodded in turn.
"That'll work I guess. So what can I do for ya Princess?"
"Nothing really, I just wanted to talk. I haven't had the opportunity to since your arrival." I grinned sheepishly while scratching my nose.
"Yeah, Ari kinda monopolized my time since I got here hasn't she."
Smiling Celestia giggled. "That she has, but who could blame her. Her life revolves around you. All she could talk about was the day you would return and be a part of her life once again. She has always been adamant that you would appear one day and her prayes were answered."
"I just hope I don't disappoint her. There's a lot I have to live up to the way she describes me." I sighed and hunched my shoulders. I knew that someway I would disappoint Ari. Feeling a hoof on my arm, I looked at Celestia.
"In Ari's eyes, you have nothing to live up to other than what she has always said about you. She always described her Vatore as a kind, caring being who always tried to help others, but life never returned that kindness." Celestia's smile I believe could bring the hardest criminal to their knees. "Just be yourself and I sincerely doubt you would ever disappoint her and even if you could, do you honestly think she would think less of you?"
That got the old gears turning. Could she? Ever since I got here she has done everything to make sure I was comfortable. If Ari wasn't here I know I would have freaked out or done something to myself.
"No, your right. If I fucked up, she would look at me and ask if I was okay then make sure I didn't do it again. Even when we was on Earth she was always somehow guiding me."
"She has always been that way. Since Arianna arrived in Equestria, she has done so much to help anypony she could. What she did for me was more than I asked for." I watched tears gather in the corner of her eyes. "Ari made sure I was taken care of, she ruled when I couldn't and made sure that Luna was never seen in a bad light. That's why I call her my sister. And when Luna returned to us, she did the same for her as well. Her compassion is unfathomable as is her kindness and because of that, Luna considers her as a sister too." Smiling I nodded and thought for a moment.
"She was always that way even as a filly. I had built a barn for her that was attached to my cabin, but she spent more time in the cabin than in her barn. Its like she didn't want me to be alone at all. I tried to keep her outside, but like any woman I my life, she just knew better."
Celestia just giggled and looked at me with a knowing grin.
"Are you going to fight her on certain things?"
"What's the point" I asked grinning myself. "We both know she would win. All she's got to do is give me those puppy dog eyes and bat her eyelids. I would do anything to make her happy." I sorted and shook my head. "I'll do anything to make her happy anyways."
