Rainbow Dash was the normal Rainbow Dash she had always been, even after the memory of her father was erased. She had however, managed to keep the box, the box that held every single memory of her past. But she had not known what the box meant. She did not know she had her whole life in that box. She had kept the box under her bed and always looked in it once and awhile before she went to bed, always thinking that it was just a box of her forgotten childhood memories. She had one night, taken the box out for another look. She carefully opened up the lid and looked at the nicely arranged items in the box. One by one she looked through a precious item. She picked up a small red ball that had come in the box she was found in. She slowly laid the ball next to her just to pick up the next item in the box. It was a completely blank photo. She had seen a faint Rainbow in that photo that had sort of looked like the Sonic Rainboom Rainbow preformed when she earned her Cutie Mark. She had put the photo next to her as well, and then looked at the bottom of the box. She had just noticed a blanket under everything that made it look nicer. She slowly pulled the blanket away from the other things, trying to not mess up the order everything was in. She had pulled out the very blanket she had been held in as a small filly, and the blanket she used to use to make small tents in the living room. She then raised a eyebrow to see a small yellow sticky note right under the blanket. She had never noticed the note before. She peeled it off from the box and started to read it.
“I wasn’t much more then a lonely soul with nobody else to ever love. I had lost everybody, and I had nothing but the average computer, where I watched daily My Little Pony. My Little Pony was the only thing that stopped me from being a lonely, helpless person living in the ally. I was looked at like a dead end, a mere image to others. As I was growing up, my parents had passed away, and since then, I had stayed at the house. The one I had been raised at since Birth. Just when about all hope was lost for me, I found you. You, the only thing that kept me from giving up. I had found you, My Little Dashie. I knew what you were, but you didn’t know what I was. It was freezing cold, the first year that I had spent with you. You grew up healthy and joyfully, and didn’t have a single worry in the world. It had been the best 15 years of my life, some of the only years that made me feel like I meant something again. But when I heard that knock at the door, I knew exactly who it was. My heart sank in the thought that it was my time. It was your time. There was no hope of how I can ever stop them from taking you, taking my life away. I broke without a grudge, I handed you over, knowing that one day this would be your faith, this would be the day that my Little Dashie would have to finally be taken from me. They always say how God works in very strange ways, and honestly, I don’t know if it was luck or destiny that I found you, but I was surly saved, just because of you.. Or even better, you found me. I won’t mind it when you finally reach your hour, I would sorrow for the rest of my life, until the final breath I take. But don’t feel bad for me Dashie, I will always be there for you, in the light and the dark. I will always be by your side, even if I may seem far away. I will always love you, and you have to remember that, even when you forget everything, you have to remember that one thing, I will love you, no matter what. Maybe one day when the time comes, we will meet again, it may be after I die, and it may be before, but I’m sure we will meet again. I’m sure that’ll we’ll reunite again, and we’ll be what we always were. A loving and caring happy family.”
To Rainbow Dash, to My Little Dashie.
