Sometimes the hardest part of growing up is figuring out who you are. It's especially hard when your mother is an embarrassment, your father is basically non-existent, and your adoptive family is a constant pain in the flank. Try adding the challenge of standing on the fine line between being a recluse and having a social life, and you've got a basic idea of tweenage problems.
