Causing my chair to roll across my apartment. I don't know why I agreed to writing an autobiography. Celestia said it'll get others into what I do. But Who'd want to do what I go? Study the skeletal system for hours, hoping to get a clue on anything useful. cleaning up Equestria of those who would ruin the 'public image' as the job description says. The image where 'everyone is equal and friendship solves everything'. What doesn't represent that image is what I clean out, cover up. But mostly murder. There's another department for arson and crap. An autobiography of my life would catch more attention as a picture book than an actual book. The only thing other ponies would be interested in is the amount of times I've been kidnapped and tortured. Rape has never happened, thank Celestia. I continue to roll around my apartment, propelling myself around with a flap of my left wing, then right, then left, then right, ECT. I manege to get back to my typewriter and I focus again. My name is Andreah Reigns, My mane and tail are blood red, my coat a Chestnut brown, and my eyes green/brown. My cutie Mark is a Pony skull with a written on, wavey piece of paper behind the skull. And I study skeletons for a living. "Done!" I yell. "Doesn't look done to me." Somepony comments from behind me. I jump out of my seat and instinctively flap my wings. Hitting my head on the ceiling than falling to the floor. I continue to lay there, rubbing the top of my skull. "And I thought the flower sisters in Ponyville were overdramatic." The mystery pony states, walking closer and sticking out a hoof. I look at the hoof and emediatly recognize the colour. "DAMMIT SILVER!" I yell, flapping my wings, lifting myself into a sitting position. I smack away his hoof. "I gave you a key in case I locked myself out again. As to prevent, unwanted results." I say, recalling an event that accedently let me to sleeping with Silver a couple of months ago."NOT for you to get in with when you feel like it." I scolded him. "I announced myself as I walked in. But you where staring lasers through the poor typewriter." He says. "Do you have a purpose here?" I ask, standing up and walking back to my chair. Sitting in it I say "Because I have this day off, and it's nice when nopony is jumping off the walls." I say, rolling back to my writer. "Yes, I do have a purpose here." He says, walking over to my couch and sitting down. "Chief Note told me to come and grab you from your day off. We have a skeleton in in a basement. The Canterlot police are already there, I think they're gonna start baggin' and taggin'." He says. "Dammit!" I yell, jumping up from my chair. I run over to my couch and pick up my black trench coat. I throw it on, carefully putting my wings through their designated holes. "They're gonna miss some things and fuck up the scene!" I tell running out the door. Silver stands up. "You don't even know where your going!" I hear him tell from my apartment. I stop my running, turn around to the door and wait for him. "Then....... Let's go together...." I say, ashamed. "Let's go." "This it?" I ask Silver, pointing to a house that looks like it was thrown together. "It's gonna fall apart any second." I tell him. "Well than let's hurry." He tells me, walking up to the door. I follow him in, to a stair case, and we walk down. I look around the basement, I see industrial lights, a few ponies here and there, all looking towards the single skull right in the middle of the basement. "Nopony's messing with the scene. Why did you say so?" I ask Silver. Getting to the bottom of the stairs. I follow him over to over of the lights before he responds. "Only way to get you to come so quick." He says with a smirk on his face. "You son of a-" "Miss Reigns! Glad to see you made it!" One of the ponies down here says to me. I turn to see the chief of police, chief badge. "I know you hate it when others start to mess with the scene, so I told them to do nothing." He tells me "Thank you sir. You brought my tools?" I ask. All police departments have a set of my tools, which it a floppy brush, a trowel, a screen usually used for gold panning, and bags. "Of coarse Miss Reigns. Right over there." He says, gesturing to a box over in the corner. "Perfect. Thank you." I give him a nod, then turn to Silver. "I need you to go and find the latest owner of the house. See if we can ask them a few questions." I demand. "I guess I'll get to work." I tell him. I walk over and pick up the box, put it on my back, keeping it there with my wings. I walk over to the skull. I place the box a couple hands away from it, and take out the trowel and brush. I carefully remove the skull and place it on a tray that was also in the box. I gesture for somepony to come and grab it. The pony that did was wearing police fatigues. I turn my attention back down to the dirt in front of me. It takes me the hours to successfully remove all remains from the dirt. Everytime I get a bone, I place it on the tray, or if it's small enough, in one of the bags. With all remains out, I dig a bit deeper to be sure there aren't anymore. Once satisfied at there not being any more bones, I put my tools back into the box and stand up. I walk over to Chief badge and tell him there are no more bones to worry about. I leave the basement and head towards RCIS headquarters. I tell myself: "now, to examine those bones, and see what they can tell us!" (chapter 2) case: postmortem problemsIt took me three years before I managed to memorize exactly where the bones went on the table. Putting the skeleton together on the table was like a 205 piece puzzle, now that might not sound hard, but it is when some pieces are identical. Which goes where? And it's even worse when some are missing. Which, luckily, this wasn't the case. "How's it going?" Silver asks, walking into my lab. I look up at the Golden/brown Stallion across the room. His silvery mane shorter than I saw last. "Did you get a mane cut?" I ask him, looking back to my table, trying to piece together the ribs. "Yes, ya like it?" He asks, flipping it to the other side of his head dramatically. He walks over to my table. "Yes, your rather dashing. What's your purpose here?" I ask him. Deciding I like the placement for this one Rib, I place it there and pick up another one from a table behind me. "I can't check up on my favorite mare? Besides you didn't answer my initial question. How goes it?" He repeats himself. "Not very well." I inform him, trying to place another rib. "There are so many markings and Bone Spurs that this is getting quite difficult." I tell him. Placing another rib, I get my forehooves off the table and face him. "Well don't let me stop you." "It's too late, I'm stopped. And you never come to "check up". What do you want?" I ask him, raising an eyebrow. Staring him directly in the eyes. "I came to drop off the documents regarding the past owners of that house." He says, pulling a file out of his saddle bag. He hooves it to me. I take off my gloves and toss them towards the biohazard bin. I grab the file with my teeth and walk over to a counter by the wall. I place it down and open it up. Current owner of 407 trottingham lane: Shining Strike Previous owner of 407 trottingham lane: spear strike (deceased). Previous owner of 407 trottingham lane: sky strike (deceased) "Did you take..." I glance at the document again "Shining.... Strike into custody?" I ask. "We're in the process of doing so. He's vice Captain of Celestia's guard, so it's gonna be a bit." He tells me. "I also looked into those two "strikes" before him. Also part of the guard. The house is loaned out to guards who don't live here in Canterlot." He says, closing the file and putting it back into his bag. "I'm gonna go see if they've made progress at getting Mr. Strike." He tells me walking back over to the door. I turn and walk back to my table, putting a new pair of gloves on then placing my front two hooves on the table. Silver opens the door and turns to me. "Hey Andreah." He calls. "Hmm?" I answer looking over at him. "Three strikes and this house is out." Thanks to the new spike in technology around here, I have a digital magnifying glass. I move the 'camera' over the spot I want, and it's shown on the screen. It's marvelous. Using this wonderful machine, it seems I've found the marks left by a murder weapon. It's no more than five or six millimetres deep on the left ulna. I'll have to get it to our lab tech, Dr. Wire. He could probobly find what would match that divot. Remembering that he works today, I trot over to my landline and turn the dile for the extension. "Hello?" A young voice answers. "Tangled? Mr. Tangled wires?" I ask. "Yes this is he. Speaking?" He asks. "This is Andreah Reigns, I'm the lead Hippologist here at RCIS." I speak into the hoofset. "Ah! Yes! Watcha need Andreah?" He asks, his voice raising in pitch. "I need you down at my lab as soon as possible." I tell him. "Right away!" He responds, then there is the unmistakable sound of the hoofset hitting the receiver. "I made it!" A voice calls, opening the door. I turn to see an orange stallion with a green mane and glasses walk in. I see his Cutie Mark is exactly as his name is. Tangles wires.. "Ah! Perfect!" I yell, lifting a hoof and beckoning him over. I then move the camera over to the possibly perimortem mark. "This here." I tell him pointing to the screen. "What about it?" He asks. "If this happened at time of death, the angle and placing would of peirced the major artery in the foreleg." I tell him, showing him on the screen. "What you need me here for?" He asks, a puzzled look on his face. "Well. The owner of the horse these remains were found at belonged to someone In Celestia's guard. I want you to measure it and see if you can't match it to one of the weapons the guard uses. Aside from that, I want you to look at dental records and get me an I.D. ok?" I tell him, he slowly nods. "Got it." He says, putting his front Hooves on the table. "I'm going to go back to the crime scene. If Silver comes looking for me, tell him I'm there." I say I head down the stairs to the now empty basement. The only thing left is the caution tape right at the stairs, and the lights around the hole. I brought my own tools in a saddle bag because I knew that once Chief Badge got out of there, he'd take the set of tools aswell. Using my wings, I lift the bags of my flank and set them down next to one of the lights. I take out a pair of gloves and put them on. I grab my trowel anf I trot over to the hole in the ground and start skimming the ground. Taking light scrapes of dirt and sifting it through the screen. Hoping to catch any particals of metal or something that could help identify a weapon or the killer. "Knock knock!" Somepony yells from atop The stairs. "Hey Silver!" I respond, not bothering to look up. "Late night working? It's already ten" He says, now behind me, watching me work. "Gets the best... Results." I say, dragging out the last word as my trowel hits something. "Hey, in my saddle bag there is a brush with long bristles. Hoof it here, please?" I ask him, already beginning to work around the object in front of me. He grabs it with his magic and floats it in the air. "Heh.. it's floppy." He says, moving it in the air. "Friggin grow up and hoof it here." I tell him sternly. He complies and I grab it from in front of me. It takes another half-hour to get the object out of the ground. "Silver..." "Yeah?" "I think I found the murder weapon." I say, holding up the spear head. (chapter 3) case: postmortem problems"Wires!" I yell walking into my lab. I watch him jump and tell. Then he turns to me. "U-uh yes? Miss Reigns?" He responds. I walk towards him and hold up the spearhead with my right wing. "Found this at the crime scene. Can you make a mold of the Ulna and this? I need to be able to mess with them without screwing up the original." I tell him. Walking up and placing the spearhead on the table. "R-right away!" He sputters out, running out of the room. I turn around and look at Silver. "I'm not, intimidating, am I?" I ask him. He just makes an uncertain noise as a response. After shooing him out, I go over to Tangled's work station and look at the dental records. There's two possible I.D.s for this stallion. That's narrow enough of a search that I can find which one is missing or deceased. Perfect. Now for the walk over to H.Q. Setting down after flying up to the H.Q. doors was always something I held against silver. He's not here, so all I can do is pat myself on the back as I walk in. Walking past the guard pony as I flash my badge, and walking over to the archives with the uncomfortable saddle bags. I'm afraid it's going to rub a hole right through my coat. I sigh once I place them onto the table in the archives. Then pull out the dental records for 'polished shield' and 'organized pages'. Now, to find their files. It takes me about an hour to find both files. With them carefully in-between my teeth, I take them over to the table and set them down. I sit down then open Mr. Pages file. First name: organized Last name: Pages Occupation: librarian Mortality: living "Alright.... Not him." I say, closing the file and placing it on the chair next to me. I slide over the second file and open it up. First name: polished Last name: shield Occupation: Royal guardsman Mortality: N/A missing since XX14 "Alrighty, looks like we've got an I.D. Just need to compare dental again just to make sure." I speak to myself. I sigh and put the file into my bag. "I need an office in H.Q. I in really do..." I say, speaking to nopony. Just as I reach the door, The secretary mare opens it. "Ah, Miss Reigns, you have a call." She tells me. I nod, thanking her, then follow her to her desk. I pick up the hoofset and lift it to my ear. "Hello?" I ask. "Y-yes, hello? Miss Reigns?" The voice responds. "Hello Mr. Wires." I say into the hoofset. "Yes. Hello. I need you back at the lab as soon as possable. I've found something." "Right away Mr. Wires." "You can call me Tangled. If It's not to much of a problem." He says "I'll be at the lab in a bit." I say, then place the hoofset down on the receiver. I walk into the building my lab is in. RCIS CRIME LABS & TECH SERVICES. So much is done here, if Celestia wanted to, she could make it a whole 'nother department. Which I hope to never happen, because my lab is in here. If she established a new department, I'd have to use a lab in RCIS headquarters. and those ones aren't very good. I've gotten used to the turns in this building, so finding my lab is no problem anymore. I push through the doors of my lab and look around. Seeing Tangled no where, I walk over to my landline. Just as I pick up the hoofset I hear somepony walk through the doors. "There you are!" I say, placing the hoofset down. "Sorry. I was in my lab. Doing the molds you asked for. Anyway..." He tells me, walking over to the counter by the phone. I follow. He takes the box he was balancing on his back and places it on the counter. "It sucks not being a unicorn or Pegasus, can't do much." He says sadly. "Your doin' just fine." I tell him "watcha need me to be here for?" I ask. "AH! That's right! This!" He says, pulling out the spearhead from the box. He then walks over to the table that has the magnifying camera. I follow him, switching on the camera. "Thanks. Anyway, there there is an engraving on the side of the spearhead. Numbers and letters, to be exact." He tells me, holding the spearhead under the camera enabling me to be able to see what he's talking about. "Hold on." I tell him "let me grab a pen and paper." I say, running over to my desk, grabbing said items, then running back over. "Okay..." "T7305-WXPRNCS" he reads off to me. I write it down. "There is only one place I know that engraves their weapons. Royal guard." Wires tells me. Walking back over to the counter and placing the spearhead back in the box. "Thanks." I tell him. Yawning. I walk over to my desk and put the paper with the numbers down. "I'll follow that lead in the morning. It's getting pretty late." I say, glancing at the clock. 10:27. "Alright. I'll see you tomorrow, ma'am." Wires says to me. "D-dont. Just, don't call me ma'am. I'm not as old as that title portrays." I tell him. Walking out the door, I hear him shout an apology. Walking past H.Q. I run into Silver walking out. He runs to my side. "What have you been doing all day?" I ask him. He chuckles nervously. "Well..... I went to go home.... And realized....' "Did you friggin lock yourself out?" I butt in. "Yea........" He responds. I sigh deeply. "Well.... Come on." I tell him. "Your such a child." "Thanks, but I'm not a child!" He yells. "Oh, I have evidence otherwise." I unlock my apartment door and let Silver In. I follow behind him then shut the door, locking it. By the time I turn around, he's already on my couch. I walk over to him. "Alright." I tell him, sitting down next to him. "Hmm?" "I don't want any screwing around, I just want a quiet ni-mmph!" I'm cut off by the feeling of two lips on mine. Despite my suprise, I don't attempt to break the kiss. Against all odds, I lean into it. But before I can get too into it, Silver breaks it. I look at him, a dumbfounded expression on my face. "Guess what?" He says with a smirk on his face. "I didn't really lock myself out." He tells me. "You sly sonovabitch." I say. I start to get up but he grabs me with his magic and pulls me onto him. Releasing me from his magic, be forces his lips on mine again. My face burning, I push into his assault, closing my eyes. 'This stallion has taken you to dinner, why not play along?' I think to myself. Not expecting anymore than what's going on, a small, surprised shriek escapes my throught when I feel him run his tounge along my lips. I part my lips giving him access and he slips his tounge into my mouth. It runs along my teeth and gums then finds my tounge. I lift my tounge up and slide it around his. Running them in circles before I feel my lungs start to burn. I break the kiss, panting for air. I look at Silver and see his breathing is still at normal. "You got." Breath "one hell of" breath "a pair of lungs." I tell him. Receiving a small laugh in response. Once I catch my breath, I start the kiss and he gives me access to his mouth, then I feel his hoof running down my stomach towards my legs. I shriek a little then pull back. "W-what are you doing?" I ask him, even though I know exactly what he's up to. "Trying to have a little fun." Was his response. "Be nice." I tell him, then continue the previous kiss. I'm at his liberty. Author's Note Sorry to all y'all Clop lovers. I'm not going to write Clop just yet, I need to get better at it Sorry (chapter 4) case: postmortem problemsI wake up, groggy and a strange taste in my mouth. I sit up and push the blanket aside. I get off the bed and start to make it, then stop once I realize there is one more body in my bed than there should be. I groan recalling the previous night's event. Weather the groan was from annoyance or remaining euphoria, I don't have the answer to. I finish making my side of the bed then walk out into the hallway. I open up the hallway closet and grab a towel. I close the closet door then walk back into my room. Looking at Silver for a moment i decide that it would be best to leave him asleep. Walking into the bathroom connected to my bedroom I close the door and turn the shower on. Waiting for it to warm up I walk over to the mirror. Looking at myself, I feel disgraced. My mane is sticking up and completely messy. Before I can make anymore criticism against my looks, I notice the mirror beginning to fog up. I quickly get back to the shower and adjust the temperature just a little bit more. I step in and close the curtain. Emediatly slipping on a bar of soap and slamming down on my back. "Good friggin job, Andreah. Give yourself fricken Back problems, why dontcha?" I say to myself as I get up. Not five seconds later do I hear Silver knocking on the door. "You alright, Andreah?" He shouts through the door. "Yeah! I'm fine, I just slipped." I shout back. "Okay..." He responds. I finish my shower in piece and manage not to hurt myself again. I step out and dry off. I manage to get my blood red mane to calm down, but let it do it's own thing. Looking in the mirror, I see it straight down all around the back of my head, but it parting at the base of my right ear, leaving that ear exposed while my left one is covered. I hate it, but it has a mind of its own, hair jel has no effect on this tarterus of a mane. Sighing, I walk out of the bathroom with the towel draped over my back. Once I get into the bedroom I notice Silver asleep, again. I giggle a little, then notice the phone ringing in the living room. I trot out of the bedroom, tossing my towel in the hamper as I leave. I get to the table and pick up the hoofset. "Hello?" I speak into it. "Hello? Miss Reigns?" I hear a youngish voice respond. "Wires! Hello. Sorry I'm late. Didn't realize I'd slept in." I lie, knowing perfectly well of the time. "I'm not calling about your tardiness Miss Reigns. I'm calling saying I've identified the remains, and know why he has so many bone spurs and chips." He informs me. "Great! I'll be in as soon as possible!" I say. Placing the hoofset down without saying goodbye, I then trot back into my room. I grab my black trench coat, being cautious when putting my wings through it, then run over to Silver. I shake him awake. "Hmm?" He groans waking up. "Get the hell up! I'm going to work. You better too!" I demand, then leave the bedroom. Throwing together a quick piece of toast, I run out the door. "Okay, so his name is polished shield, and he worked for the Royal guard. He was a trainer, meaning he got hit a lot. So that explained the spurs and chips, but what I don't get, is the way he died." He tells me, pointing to the remains laid out on the table. "So that spearhead was cause of death?" I ask. Looking at the remains on the table in front of me. "Yes. But it's registered to the guard armory. We don't have records of the weapons in our archive. We're gonna need access to the Royal guard's archives." He tells me, and before I can say anything he speaks again. "You know Princess Celestia personally, right?" He asks. "Yes..." I tell him, beginning to piece together what he's getting at. "You think you can pull some strings? Get me, Silver, and yourself in? Because RCIS's authority is just under theirs, so we can't just walk in." He says. "I'll see what I can do. But in the mean time, I need you to go back to the scene and skim the dirt. See if there's any more evidence, like the spear stick or something. Ok?" I ask him. "Will do, Miss Reigns. Good luck with Celestia." He says, then runs out the door, almost knocking Silver over as he walks in. "Look who's back from the dead." I say to Silver as he walks over to me. "Hey, what can I say? You tired me out from last night." He says, smirking. "So what? We coltfriend/marefriend now?" He asks me, inching closer "Woah, hold your cattle now, let me think 'bout that." I tell him. 'what are you doing Andreah?' I repremand myself. 'couple weeks ago, you couldn't fathom the thought of him taking you to dinner. Now you've slept with him a couple times and about to agree to a relationship.' I continue. "Andreah! Equestria to Andreah! Hello?" Silver yells, snapping me out of my thought process. "O-oh. Sorry. J-just spaced out, that's all." I lie. Sighing I walk over to my desk and pick up the paper with the serial code on it. I examine it for a minute then take it over to my saddle bags. Placing inside the left bad, I then proceeded to put on the bags. I walk back over to Silver. "I need to go talk to Celestia, see if I can get into the Royal armory archives. See who was issued that spearhead we have." I tell him. "Care to come?' I ask him. "No, I can't, I have some paperwork to catch up on." He says, sadness in his voice. I give him a quick kiss then walk over to the door. "Your sure we're not..." "I'll think about it, Mr. Colt!" Author's Note This one was badly written, I realize. But, honestly, I have no other way I'd write it, I like the way it develops in this chapter (chapter 5) case: postmortem problems"How in the name of Celestia, am I supposed to convince Celestia to let me in!?" I shout across the room at Silver. "No need to shout! I'm not that far away." He says. In his chair, all the way across the room. He starts to move the rollie chair. "Do not! Move! From the X!" I yell at him. He then repositions the chair onto the white X I have taped onto the floor. I made sure to put the X in a corner to make sure he stays there. I put they X there to keep him from moving around my office without my permission. "Come on mom! I'm not a child any more!" He whines. "Than stop friggan acting like one and help me find out how to get Celestia to let me into their archive!" I yell again. "Well, if I can move, than I could help you." He says, slyly, knowing he's got me. "Fine! Just behave yourself." I tell him, watching him roll the chair over beside me. His horn glowing a magnificent silver, he levitates over a paper and quill. I watch him set the paper on my desk and start writing. After he finishes he hooves me the paper. "She's not all that hard to deal with you know. Just ask nicely." He says, adding a big smile at the end of his sentence. I roll my eyes and read what he wrote out loud. " 'Dear princess Celestia. Silver and I have recently come to find that we need access to the Royal Archives. It's imperative to our investigating. If you so desire more information, I am available at any time. Due to the fact I can't continue the investigation without access to said archives. Sincerely, Andreah Reigns.' " I read "you know, you make me sound like a total asshole. I'm not an asshole." I tell him. "Debatable." He says. "Just fuckin' shut up and go deliver this." I tell him, rolling the paper up and hoofing it to him. ------_------- "The princess wishes to see you in the throne room." One of the security guards in my building tells me. Nodding, I grab my black trench coat. Carefully putting my wings through it, then exiting my office. I exit the building then stretch my wings. Giving one push I'm in the air. Now to make my way towards the palace. "Name?" A Royal Guardsman outside the throne room doors asks. "Andreah Reigns. Or Dr. Reigns." I tell him. Nodding, he opens the giant doors to the throne room. Or, more accurately, the throne hallway. For it is longer then it is wide. Walking down the throne hallway, I see Celestia sitting on the throne. With Princess Luna just below her. I walk up to the foot of the throne and bow. "Princess Luna." I say, standing up I look at Celestia. "You requested me?" "Yes, Dr. Reigns. I requested your presence regarding your letter." She says, holding the letter in the air with a golden glow. "Yes, yes." I say. "I must sincerely apologise for that. I didn't write that letter. Silver did. I'm sorry for the disrespect conveyed in th--" "It is quite fine." She interjects with a giggle. "I suspected so. You write quite differently." She tells me. "I.... Guess?" I say, unsure of what else to say. "I called to here to grant both you, and that silly partner of yours, access to the archives. Full clearance. Both of you. This way you may enter for other cases as well." She informs me. "T-thank you princess!" I say, giving her an excited bow. "I told you, Doctor, no bowing." She demands. "Than it is for princess Luna." I say, standing up from the bow. "Ah, why thank you. Miss Reigns." She says. "And, Miss Reigns?" "Yes princess?" I respond, cocking my head towards her. "May I speak to you in the library?" She asks. "Of course." I tell her. "Great! See you there!" She says, clopping her front hooves together, then disappearing in a flash of purple light. A couple of seconds of being dumbfounded, I look towards Celestia. "Before you go. Take these." She says, levitating two small strips of metal over to me. After they land in my hoof, i look at them and see they read 'full clearance: Royal archive'. "They go in your bifold badge holder. One for you, one for Silver." She says. "Thank you, princess." I say. "Your quite welcome. Now hurry along, Luna's waiting. I'll send a guard to help you over to the library." She tells me. I thank her again then walk out of the throne hallway. After tons of twists and turns and retrospect on my life choices, I make it to the library. Walking in I wave the guard away and walk over to Luna, who is sitting at one of the tables. "Ah! Miss Reigns! You made it!" She shouts exidedly. "Yea, after having to follow a guard who was very obviously hitting on me. Anyway, please, just call me Andreah. 'Miss Reigns' is way too formal." I tell her. "I can can you that. And that guard was taking a liking to you hmmm?" Luna asks. "Yes. He was." I say, red rising to my cheeks. "W-what is it you need?" I ask, quickly changing the subject. "Oh, right, yes." She remembers. "Do you deal with disappearances?" She asks me, getting closer to my face. "U-um. I-i don't, but my partner, Silver does. But if you want me to handle something, I could help." I tell her, nervously, because she gets closer to me. "One of my Bat-ponies has gone missing. His name is polished shield. Please find h-him.... What?" She asks, noticing the sadness in my face. "Princess Luna, Polished was the reason I was called in in the first place. His remains where found in the basement of a Royal Guardsman's house. He was killed by a spear." I tell her. Suddenly I feel two forelegs wrap around my neck, the sound of sobbing followed. "It's alright, it's alright." I comfort her. "Silver and I will get the bastard who did this." (chapter 6) case: postmortem problems"Silver!" I shout, banging my hoof on his apartment door. "Silver!" I shout again. This time getting the response I was hoping for. "Whaaaaaaaat!?" He whines after he opens the door. "Do you have any idea how late it is?" "I doesn't matter. The Royal Archive is open twenty four hours a day. Come on!" I tell him, then proceed to grab his front left hoof and pull on him. He pulls his hoof away and yawns. "It's almost midnight. Go to bed, we can go there in the morning." He says, turning around. I jump into the air and fly into his apartment before he gets the chance to close the door. I then land behind him. "Get dressed mister! We're going to the archives. Besides, I know exactly who the pony on the table is." I say, adjusting my wings. "Now how'd you figure that out?" He asks, closing the door and turning to face me. "Princess Luna." I say, walking over to his couch and sitting down. "She was wondering if I handled missing pony cases. I said I don't but you do, and i would tell you the case if she told me." "And?" He asks, sitting down next to me. "She said she had a Bat-pony missing. Polished shield. Exactly who's on the table." I tell him. He yawns a response. "Why didn't his file say he was one of Luna's Bat-weirdos?" "Hey!" I repremand him, hitting him in the shoulder. "Be nice!" "Ouch..." He complains. "The file didn't say it because Luna specifically requested it didn't say so. She doesn't want them singled out as 'weirdos'. But I might have to talk to her about that, because it does make us look differently for certain things." I tell him. "Differently towards what?"he asks me. "Bat-pony Unicorn or pegasi have different skeletal markers than a normal pony. Like, a bat Pegasus's wings are thinner and longer than a normal Pegasus. And a unicorn's horn is made differently. Then their bones are made differently all together." I say, earning another yawn. "Wow, you did your homework." He says sarcastically. "Don't be a dick. Just change because we're going to the archive." The Royal archives are part of the Canterlot Castle. It's in the basement, attached to the Guard barracks and armory. You have to have certain clearance just to get into the barracks, even more so for the armory. Then you have to be really special to get into the archives. Luckily, Silver and I where deemed special. "Here." I say, hoofing silver the metal strip that grants us access to the archives. "Put it in your badge-wallet. It allows us into the archives." I tell him. He nods and does so with his magic. We walk up the stairs to the castle, then walk into the castle, being stopped by guards at the door. Silver and I flash him our badges. He nods and puts his hoof out, showing us access to the building. "I'm, excuse me? Sir?" I ask him. A deep and gruff "yes?' was my response. "First time here, um, wheres the archive?" I ask, putting my badge back into my trench coat. "Follow the hall to the left, then there are signs heading to the barracks. Ask the barrack guards to go further." He tells me. "Thank you, sir." I say, then walk the way he said, Silver tagging behind me. I get to the end of the hallway and see the signs he was talking about. I follow them until I'm stopped by another guard. I grab my badge and show him. He nods. "Which way, to the, archive?" I ask. He then points to another sign that was an arrow, with the word 'archive' right on it. An embarrassed red rises to my face and I not. "I-i didn't see that. Thanks." I say, shamefully. Then I walk down where the arrow was pointing. Silver tried to my side, smirking. "Need some glasses?" He asks. "Shut up." Was the only retaliation I could think of. "Mabey, you could get a pair like the librarians wear. Big, red rims, bifocals." He says. "Oh look, the archive." I say, hastely changing the subject. I push open the doors and see rows upon rows of bins filled with files. "Okay, well.... Weapons records, this way." I say pointing to the left after reading a plaque. Walking, I looked down the isles. Seeing the occasional Guardsman or librarian organizing some files. A couple more seconds and I made it to the weapons records. "Alright. Here, write these down somewhere." I tell Silver, pulling out the piece of paper with the serial number on it. "T7305-WXPRNCS" i read off. Just as he finishes writing it down on his own piece of paper, one of the librarians walks over. "You won't find any records on that one here, deary." She says to Silver and me. Silver turns around to face her. "Why not?" He asks. "May I see the paper?" She asks, then grabs it with a hoof even Silver holds it out to her. "You see these letters here?" She asks, pointing to 'PRNCS'. After hearing Silver and me agree, she continues. "They mean Princess. Meaning we won't have this on record, because it's not assigned to anyone besides Celestia or Luna. And these letters here 'WX' mean that this was a war series spear head. Meaning that the spearhead is Most likely used as decoration now." She says. Nodding to herself, she hooves the paper back to Silver. "Wait, how did you know it was a spearhead?" I ask her. She grabs the paper again and points at 'T73'. "That is the combination saying it's a spearhead, and the '05' means it's the fifth one made." She tells us, then hooving the paper back. "Thanks you ma'am." Silver says. "Where might we go to find out about this spearhead?" He asks. "The princess herself, Luna or Celestia. They would know." She says, turning around and walking away. "Let's go talk to the princesses." I say. I go through the usual 'why you here' thing at the throne room doors. I get through, and so does Silver. We walk down the throne hallway and reach the throne, atop it is Celestia. "Celestia! Can I speak with you for a second?" I ask. "Sure, what do you need, Andreah?' she asks. "Do you recognize these numbers and letters?" I ask, and Silver levitates the paper up to her. I watch her read it and The colour drain from her face. Or, the bright white drain from her face. "T-thats my spear's serial number." She says. "Do you have any idea why we found it under the remains of Polished Shield?" I ask her. "N-no, I don't." She says, visibly beginning to get off the throne. "I'm sorry, Celestia, Article 7 of the RCIS hoofbook mandates that if there is probobly cause, the suspect must be arrested, regardless of status." I say. "Come with me." Silver says, going up to Celestia. "Why would I go with you?" She protests. "I'm sorry." I say. "Princess Celestia, your under arrest under the suspicion of the murder of Polished Shield." Author's Note Is that even legal? (Answer, yes) (chapter 7) case: postmortem problemsSo, my boss is pissed. "You can't just arrest the princess!!" The director yells. "Your lucky I don't fire your ass! If it wasn't for your work being so good, I would." "Well, sir." I say, shifting uncomfortably in the director's client chair. "She's a suspect in a murder case. I can't just let her go." I tell him. "Your fucking have to! She's THE princess for dicks sake!" He yells at me. "Sir, you should know! Article 7 of the RCIS hoofbook mandates that if there is probobly cause, the suspect must be arrested, regardless of status!" I say, my voice starting to shake. He takes a deep breath, knowing I'm right. "Just..." Another deep breath "just find a way to clear her. You jail her, your going to be the most hated pony in Equestria." "I'll do my best, sir." "So, Princess. Please tell me what I know." Silver said to the princess. I'm standing in the observation booth for the interrogation room. Silver it's in there, digging his own grave. And mine while he's at it. As much as I hate what's going on, it's my job, and I told the lady in the room I'd do my job. No matter what. "What do you need to know?" Celestia asks him. Her stare shooting daggers. "I need to know why your spear was found under the body of a dead Bat-pony." Silver tells her, using his magic to place a bag on the table. Celestia looks at the bag to see her spearhead. "Now, I'm hoping, it was just stolen by a guard with a grudge. But I'm pretty sure that's not it." Celestia sighs. "Your correct, there is more to the story. I was hoping to keep it out from the view of the public." She says, lowering her head. "Well, spill it. Your not going anywhere till we can nail somepony." Silver says. I flinch in the booth, he's talking to her really harshly. With a deep breath, Celestia starts to talk. "One of my guards. Sharpened Sword his name. He came up to me one day. Looking for something for his son to write a school report on. I told him I have just the thing. Whent and got this." She tells Silver, using a golden hoof to gesture towards the bag on the table. "Next thing I know. That guard stops coming to work, and this is missing." She puts her forehooves on her head. "Anything else?" Silver asks. "Oh, if I knew he would use it to avenge a vandetta, I would never have given it to him." She starts to whisper, and I can see tears well in her eyes. "Am I am accessory now?" She asks Silver. "No, Princess. Your free to go. Reigns can escort you out. I'm sorry for dragging you into this." He says, turning around and walking out. Leaving the door open for her to walk out. He walks into the booth and starts to talk to me. "I'll go and see what I can find on Mr. Sword. Escort her out, please?" He asks me. I nod and walk out. I go to the room. "Hi, Celestia. Umm, I'll help.. you out." I tell her, awkwardly. She stands up and wipes her face. "Thank you, Doctor Reigns." She says. She used my formal title, and i let it go. She's in to much of a distressed state. "This way, please." I say, using my hoof and pointing out. Silver looks at the paper he managed to scrounge up. Looks like Mr. sword whent and got himself a new job. He gestures to the other agents, telling them this is where he is. And they walk into the ironsmiths. "RCIS! I'M LOOKING FOR SHARPENED SWORD!" Silver yells once he walks in. "I'm Sharpened Sword. What you need?" He asks. "Sharpened Sword. Your under arrest for the murder of Polished Shield." Silver tells him. Two other agents go behind him and grab him. "Time to go." "Knock knock!" Silver shouts at my office door. "Come in!" I yell and he walks in. "Guess what." He tells me, walking over to my desk. "What?" I ask him. "We caught the bastard who did this." He says. I jump into the air and tackle him. "Good job mister!" I say and look down on him. His face turning a deep red. "Oh, sorry!" I shout, my face turning a red. "Well, Missy." He says once I'm off him and he's sat up. "You never answered my question." "What's that question?" I ask him, walking back over to my desk. "You wanna be my marefriend?" He asks me. I feel my face turn red and I walk over to my window. I look out the window to hide my blush. "Andreah?" He says and I turn too look at him. "Yes?" I ask him. "Answer my question please." "Yes." I say. "Really?" He asks, happily skipping over to me. "Really." I say. Then I feel lips on mine. Taken aback I squeek. He pulls back from the kiss laughing. "Did I scare you?" He asks. "Shut up." I tell him. I gently put my hoof on his face and pull him into another kiss. But before we could get to into it I hear a knock at the door. I pull back and trot over to the door and open it. It's the director. "Reigns!" He says. "I've got another case for you!"
(chapter 1) Case: postmortem problemsMy name is Andreah Reigns, and I I sigh, pushing myself away from the typewriter. I tell myself: "now, to examine those bones, and see what they can tell us!"
(chapter 2) case: postmortem problemsIt took me three years before I managed to memorize exactly where the bones went on the table.
I'm not going to write Clop just yet, I need to get better at it Sorry
(chapter 4) case: postmortem problemsI wake up, groggy and a strange taste in my mouth. But, honestly, I have no other way I'd write it, I like the way it develops in this chapter
(chapter 5) case: postmortem problems"How in the name of Celestia, am I supposed to convince Celestia to let me in!?" I shout across the room at Silver. "Silver and I will get the bastard who did this."
(chapter 6) case: postmortem problems"Silver!" I shout, banging my hoof on his apartment door. (Answer, yes)
(chapter 7) case: postmortem problemsSo, my boss is pissed.
