Mad at the world he was toiled upon for years, spiteful towards all those, who dare to dream. I've grown used to the silence, the yelling and the abuse. Though this morning is not like the others, his anger is not centered on me, but upon Marble who can't defend against such a rampage. Marble has asked for the week off. Her silent frame gazing into the stone soup before her. Her body is calm. But eyes filled with qualm. She wishes to visit our sister in pink. Father says no! We have a business to keep. Miles to go, before we can sleep. She will swing a pickaxe, through the week. Even if she must do so, while she weeps. There is no time to party and play! We are grown mares. It is our duty, to work all day! I can see a tear roll off into the soup. Marble broken. Another shattered youth. "Work and no play?" I scoff across the table to my father, eyes glowing darkly with the blaze of hellfire. "Young lady! What did you say?" He narrowed those cold icy eyes, locking onto my own in a stern glare. "I say." "Work and no play!" I snap aloud in a sarcastic hiss. "Finish ye soup!" his hooves smash onto the table in a large thud. "Ye have work today!" his words stung far more than any lashing. "Marble is just a weak link!" I calmed my words, a dark plan forming within my mind. "Hay if I must be honest." Eyes cast over my little sister coldly. "She just plain stinks!" "I pull twice as much rocks, in a day." I scoff with a flaunt of a hoof. "Than she in a week!" I made sure to gaze towards father, my words filled with swagger. "I can never hear her." "She is far too meek!" I moan aloud in annoyance, eyes rolling with anger. "I waste time as I must push her around." "Her pickaxe you see." My hooves point across the room, towards her tool of destruction left beside the backdoor. "Has barely shattered the ground!" "I say let that weakling go!" I hiss with spite, my glance resting upon my frail sister. "I can hold down the farm." "This I can see, you know." I lock eyes with father, our cold hallow stares at a stand still. "Meek is weak." "Silent and slow." Each word stabbing into my sister's heart, she sat in silence holding back with all her might. "I’ll get more work done." "If you just let her go." The final word crushed my sister's heart into shards, as I spoke a faux truth. "Go Marble and visit the Pink." Father sighed with a hint of annoyance. "But ye better be back!" "By next week!" he barked like an old dog, pushing away from the table roughly. Father walks outside. Mother cleans off the table in stride. Marble is sobbing at the table today. If I wish her to soar. I must be this way. I want to plea. Forgiveness for those words I spoke. Marble runs off. So here I’m alone. Enjoying a breakfast. Of tears and stone.

Those words I spoke… I know they were poor. My soul hurt from deep in the core. I place a hoof on her door, the warmth of life gone from inside. The frame it burns with ice and sorrow, I pull my hoof back but it is too late. I am already burned. Marble. I’m sorry for my ways. I just feel the weight of the passing days. I looked to you and I could see. A broken youth. Much like me. I wanted to allow you to leave and fly. The only way I was able. Was to make you cry. I whisper beyond the door, my pathetic plea for mercy. I speak like I had no choice but deep inside I know it is a lie, I chose the easy way out of this hellish path. I could’ve stood up and fought “Him” but instead I was weak, I attacked my heart and broke the love I seek. Marble. Pinkie loves you at her side. Be happy when you see her. Know it is you. Who gives her pride. You deserve to know what play is. The joy of being free. Is my gift to thee. I slide down her frozen door, my icy breath wafting high into the air above me. Crush things! Be it dreams or rocks. I must smash them into fine smooth dust. I stomp over to the vast wasteland that is my home, the silence of the world weighing down my soul. Hooves sink deep into the lifeless soil of the land, eyes adjust to the dark of the world. Seeing what can not be seen, seeing the truth. I break the boulders! I ravage the rocks! I massacre the marble! Nothing can stand before my mighty hooves! I will smash and bash! Crash and slash! Crumble and tumble! Rumble and stumble! Large in charge? Ha! More like crushed into mush! Smooth with a groove? Try charged into shards! The destruction is vast, my own two hooves bring forward this grim site. To take and not create is my fate, born never to ease the pain, instead to bring forward the penance the world has earned. I will lift a hoof and smash it down! The cracks! The cracks! The cracks I leave upon the ground! Hahahaha! Swiftly strike the large granite wall. Watch the holes build. Soon it shall fall! My back is strained. My body filled with pain. My heart filled with disdain. I will stomp upon these stones of earth! It is my duty… Given to I at birth. I gasp to catch my breath as hooves tremble, the dust of destruction it flows high into the air. Forming itself into a creature of my creation, can you see it? Fangs that bite down and kill the soul, claws that grasp the body and keep the pony petrified. eyes that burn into the heart, leaving only ashes behind. I've created this monster, I've brought it into this world. She was born to bring the parents peace of mind. Though she never speaks. Her actions keep them calm. Must be divine. She was born to bring the parents pride. She might be a bore. But her knowledge and intelligence they do adore. She was born to bring the parents joy. She is wild and spirit can soar. But her laughter, it lights the world. I was born to a mom. Whose gaze upon me is that of sorrow. I was born to a dad. Whose gaze upon me is filled with strife. Father told me to destroy. To break down the land. To know no joy. It is my burden. It is my rite. I crush the rocks here. Hidden away from the bright light. I gaze over to the house, my sister still asleep at this early hour. Her spirit is still strong for now, she is innocent and not stained by our land. I work hard to keep her from this pain, though as my body aches, I know not how much longer this can last. I look to the sky as the sun starts to rise. Then to the destruction at my side. Catching my breath. I can’t muster a scream. What I destroyed is not rocks. But my hopes and dreams.
