Birthday Licks
The Party Room
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIt was a nice, quiet afternoon in the neighborhood… Well, until one little house nearly burned down.
“No! No!! NO NO NO NO!!!!” Nise, the young mare who lived inside the small house, screamed. She ran into the kitchen to find her eggs over cooked on the stove. She thought she could run in and save them, but it was too late. “Damn it!”
Nise was a nice young women pony. She had a lovely caramel brown coat and brownish-black mane and tail. Her hair was short and naturally nappy, but she took good care of herself and groomed herself daily. Her brown eyes matched well with her coat and hair and her glasses complemented her face. She was wearing a pink spaghetti strap shirt with a matching skirt and a blue flower print apron.
It was her boyfriend’s birthday and she wanted to surprise him with a cake. The eggs weren’t apart of her surprise, at least not for her boyfriend, Winn, who was at work during all of this. She just needed something to eat after all the baking, and with no one to taste test the cake, she had a little trouble making it just right.
The cake was a half chocolate, half mango upside down cake right down the middle. It was about the size of a small gift box. She made it this way so there wouldn’t be too much cake that would go to waste later. The cake was only for the two of them anyways.
A timer sounded and Nise ran over to the oven where the cake was baking. “Great, the cake is finally down!” she sang, “I can’t wait for him to taste it.”
Just as she said that, Winn’s key was jiggling in the door, announcing his arrival. “Nise, I’m home!” he called.
Nise jumped up in fright. “Hey, hun…” she said with a quiver in her voice.
Winn closed the door behind him and took a whiff of the air, stepping towards the kitchen. “Something smells nice,” he said, setting down his work belt. Nise panicked for a second as the steps of her man came closer. She needed to buy sometime before the surprise was ruined. It was time for plan B.
“Don’t you think you should wash up before you eat?” she asked in a sing song tone. Winn stopped walk towards the kitchen, filling the air with tension and a long pause.
He sniffed himself and agreed. “Maybe you’re right, babe,” he said, taking off his top shirt, “I’ll be back down in a minute.” He ran up the stairs to the bedroom and throw the shirt in the hamper, grabbing a towel, washcloth, and soap while he was in there.
Winn was a hard working man pony. Others called him a go getter. He met Nise in high school and ever since then, they stuck together through thick and thin. He had the same eyes as her and wore glasses as well. His dark brown coat and shaved black mane and tail made him look like a war horse. He was trying to grow out his hair, but it was a slow process. He had strong arms and average sized abs for his age. He was tall too. Very tall.
Winn hummed to himself, happy for once that he was going to be able to spend the rest of his birthday with the mare he loved. And when he stepped into the bathroom, he fell in love with her all over again.
The bathroom was set up with scented candles of vanilla and roses, and was lit with soft colors of red and white. The tub was filled with warm water and bubbles. A fluffy towel and extra bubble soap sat on the toilet seat. Underneath that was a robe Winn had stared at in a clothing store. When he saw all this waiting for him, he couldn’t help but smile.
Down stairs, Nise tried not the rush as she frosted the cake as quick and precise as she could. ”Please don’t mess this up, Nise!” she screamed in her head, ”It's almost down, but you’re not fast enough!” Just a little bit more here, and some there, and it was finished just in time.
Nise let out a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat off her forehead as Winn came up behind her, giving her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you, Puppy,” he purred in her ear.
He was wearing the robe that she bought him as part of her surprise. It's made her happy to see that he liked it so much. “You’re welcome, Daddy,” she whispered in his ear, nuzzling his cheek.
She then grabbed the plate with the cake on it and showed it to Winn. “Wow,” he gasped, “That’s really impressive.”
On the chocolate side, the frosting was milk chocolate. It had small white chocolate roses with dark chocolate flakes as the thorns. On the mango side, the whole part of the cake was filled with the sweet fruit. A slice of mango decorated the top and mango flavoring dripped from the topping.
All they needed was a fork, some wine, and a bed to lay in. Luckily for them, that’s exactly what they had.
