Wanting To Be More Relatable

Rarity was laying on a blanket in a park in Ponyville as she thought that it would be good to relax there before going back to work in Canterlot Boutique, it was the perfect day to be out for fresh air. She knew she should go out more often than she does but she would have to remove some stuff that she does everyday from her schedule in order to do that.

While Rarity was sitting there somepony came up to her, Rarity turned to look at the pony and saw that it was Celestia, she found it strange to see Celestia taking a random stroll through Ponyville as she usually only came out for special events, she also saw that Celestia wasn't wearing her royal regalia, She decided to talk to Celestia so she walked over to her and spoke.

"Celestia I wasn't expecting you to take a stroll outside as you are only out if there's a special program that had invited you as a guest or you would be outside if you had something yourself going on, I'm surprised you don't have any guards with you, and where is your head wear?" Rarity asked.

"I wanted to mingle with some of the citizens and just go for as stroll, I didn't want to just fly around in the cramped carriage all day and I also didn't bring any guards with me because I just wanted to go around like everypony else. I just want..." Celestia said as she tried to think up a word that she wanted to use to describe what she wanted to do but Rarity knew exactly what she was saying.

"You want to be on the same level of status other ponies are and you don't want to act higher than anypony else because you shouldn't be above them." Rarity said which made Celestia nod franticly.

"Exactly! That's just what I'm trying to say! I have a bad habit of being all high and mighty and above other ponies just because I raise the sun and make the laws! I hate myself for doing that so that's why I now often tone down my appearances and I act normal in public I don't stand on stages anymore and I never go on the balcony and yet whenever I pass ponies still bow to me! I feel like a dictator." Celestia ranted, Rarity understood how she felt

"I'm not higher than anypony else and I shouldn't be but yet ponies act like I'm the creator of the world and yet I'm not! I don't know who created the world or even the sun for that matter, I shouldn't be running Equestria like some ruler with and iron hoof, I'm sick of it and I want to be citizen, look I'm not saying that I want to step down as Queen but I want to be more relatable." Celestia said.

"I know what you mean, it's very understandable, I'm not much for giving advice but I suggest you go out in public more and talk to more ponies, get to know them, maybe they will befriend you!" Rarity suggested.

"I've already told Twilight this and she knew what I mean to, she's been giving me books on how to be more social and more humble technically." Celestia said, Rarity smiled. She then had a question she needed to ask.

"How do you handle ponies bowing to you? If you don't want to go feel higher than other ponies then why haven't you stopped that?" Rarity asked, Celestia nodded as she knew she was going to be asked this question.

"I've already told a lot of ponies that I don't like being bowed a lot to but they continue to do it anyway, some ponies have cut down on it but others still do it for respect which i guess I understand but everytime when do see some ponies bowing to me to much I either tell them or I just let them bow." Celestia said. Rarity nodded.

"I guess that that was what you were doing about ponies bowing to you but I never knew for sure so now I know your true feelings on that matter, I'm really sorry you have to deal with this Celestia, again if you want I can give you some tips on how to fit in." Rarity told her.

"I would appreciate that Rarity!" Celestia told her. Rarity smiled and patted Celestia on the back as they looked at the water, Celestia continued to think about these incidents and thought about one in particular.

"Rarity? Do you remember that time when Pinkie Pie ate my cupcake and then she was dragged away during the time in which Fluttershy looked over Philomena?" Celestia asked Rarity, Rarity nodded remembering the incident.

"Yes I do! Why?" Rarity asked, Celestia spoke.

"Pinkie Pie wasn't being rude to me and yet she was dragged back away by the Cakes! That's just the way she is! She didn't have to be dragged away for that because they thought she was rude to me! She wasn't rude at all!" Celestia ranted. Rarity nodded as she remembered hearing about that.

"I understand everything that your saying Celestia, I agree with you, Pinkie Pie was just being herself and yet everypony thought that she disrespected you which is ridiculous. I like Pinkie Pie so I felt what they did was wrong." Rarity told her.

"I know! I like Pinkie Pie to! Anyway Thanks for talking to me Rarity! We need to do this more often and I'm going to start trying to get out more as well and see how that goes. I hope ponies get used to seeing me outside at their level and talk to me like any other pony." Celestia said.

"Don't worry Celestia just be relatable and they will get used to talking to you. I'm glad we had this chat. Maybe later we can do something together with the rest of my friends we will have to see." Rarity said.

"I would most certainly like that. Thanks again Rarity." Celestia said standing up, Rarity stood up as well

"Your welcome Celestia." Rarity said as she was glad she got to see the princess, they both went back home and over the coarse of the next few days Celestia tried to be more relatable as she hung out with Twilight's friends and a few ponies she knew and she even introduced herself to a few of the other citizens.

Most ponies liked that she was trying to be relatable so they greeted her to, Celestia realized how great this was and she continued to do this while she also got tips from Rarity about how to be like other regular ponies. Celestia was grateful for all of them as she she was happy that she got her wish in being more relatable.
