Heartfelt Memories And Fun
Pinkie Pie was humming a melody as she continued to bake cupcakes. She was restocking the display cases at Sugar Cube Corner. She eyed the box containing Rainbow Dash’s favorite cake. Fluttershy had placed an order for it in honor of their four year anniversary. Pinkie Pie resigned herself to eat a cupcake instead of sampling Rainbow Dash’s delectable cake.
Pinkie Pie heard the front door open as Fluttershy walked in “Fluttershy!” Pinkie beamed as her friend approached the counter.
“Hello Pinkie.” Fluttershy said gleefully.
“Here!” Pinkie Pie said as she placed Rainbow Dash’s cake on the counter. Fluttershy thanked her and paid for the cake.
“Oh Fluttershy on your way home can you drop these letters off at Twilight’s castle? I think poor Derpy got confused again.” Pinkie Pie said giggling. “Ember write Spike the sweetest letters.”
“Pinkie I’d be more than happy to do that. But you can’t read other ponies mail!” FLuttershy said alarmed.
“I know, but Spike and Ember are clearly in love with each other ! And it’s so sweet!” Pinkie Pie said dreamy eyed.
“Well alright!” Fluttershy said giggling at her friend. The thought of Ember’s letters made Pinkie Pie’s heart melt. Their so cute! She thought to herself.
“Pinkie maybe you could take Spike these letters yourself. Twilight is sick with a cold.” Fluttershy said.
“Oh no!” Pinkie said with concern. She flipped the sign in the window to closed. “I know the cakes will understand that I had to go check on my girlfriend ! And these letters will make Spike so happy!”
Fluttershy waved to her friend and said goodbye. Pinkie Pie then made her way to Twilight’s castle. Pinkie had started dating Twilight eight months ago. And Pinkie had loved every moment since then with Twilight.
Spike answered the door when Pinkie Pie knocked. “Oh hey Pinkie Pie!” Spike said happy to see his friend. “What brings you here?”
“Fluttershy told me Twilight was sick, and I wanted to check on my girlfriend.” Pinkie replied.
“Oh I don’t know Pinkie Pie. Twilight doesn’t want any visitors. Starlight and I are only still here because we live here. She doesn’t want to get anypony sick it it can be avoided.” Spike said.
“But Spike I’m not anypony. I’m her girlfriend.” Pinkie said making a pouty face.
Spike rubbed the back of his neck. “Well since your Twilight’s girlfriend I guess it would be okay.” Spike said letting the pinky pony inside. Twilight started another coughing fit. Spike went to the kitchen to get her some tea. Pinkie then followed him into Twilight’s bedroom. “Here.” He said as he gave the tea to Twilight.
“Thank you Spike.” Twilight said as she took a sip. She noticed Pinkie Pie standing off to the side. “Spike! I told you not to let anypony in!”
“Twilight don’t be made at Spike. I wanted to come in. I’m your girlfriend. I want to take care of you.” Pinkie Pie said moving closer to Twilight.
Twilight coughed again. Spike gave her some more tea. “Ahhh Pinkie, Spike is only taking care of me because he lives here, and because he’s my friend and assistant.” Twilight said sniffling.
“Twilight, I don’t care if I get sick. I just want to take care of you is all.” Pinkie Pie said using her pouty face on Twilight.
Twilight tried averting her eyes but Pinkie Pie was just too cute. “Alright you can stay, but you better not get sick, or I’ll make you reorganize my library.” Twilight said jokingly.
“Oh Twilight!” Pinkie said as she ran up to her girlfriend and kissed her on the cheek.
“Pinkie! No I’m sick!” Twilight said pushing the pink pony away.
“Hehe sorry.” Pinkie said giggling. “So Twi do you need anything?”
Twilight coughed again. “No Pinkie, I’m fine for right now.” She took another sip from her tea then snuggled under her covers. Pinkie and Spike closed her door.
“Hey Spike, where’s Starlight?” Pinkie asked.
“She had some errands to run, but she’ll be back later.”
Pinkie Pie nodded her understanding. Spike went and read his Power Ponies comics. Pinkie went into the kitchen and started making some soup for Twilight. She added in several spices and vegetables. It smells so good! Pinkie thought as she savored the aroma. She tasted the soup herself. Mmm! Twilight will love this! Pinkie then ladled some soup into a bowl and took it to Twilight’s room.
“Twilight I made you some soup.” Pinkie said as she entered. Twilight stirred.
“Pinkie, I told you I was fine.” Twilight said trying to sit up.
“I know, but you have a cold, and I made you some nice hot soup.” Pinkie said holding up the bowl. Twilight didn’t protest as Pinkie set the bowl down on the night stand. Twilight’s stomach grumbled. She was hungry, and she didn’t feel like getting out of bed herself to make any food.
“Open wide!” Pinkie said as she tried to spoon feed Twilight. Twilight was resistant at first, but then Pinkie tickled her causing her mouth to fly open. Giving an opportunity for Pinkie to place the spoon in her mouth. After that she didn’t protest her girlfriend feeding her.
“You’re very sweet Pinkie.” Twilight said in between spoonfuls of soup.
“I just don’t like seeing you sick.” Pinkie said ruffling Twilight’s mane.
“I know, but you really didn’t have to do this.” Twilight said as she started to cough again. “Regardless though, I appreciate that you’re doing this for me.”
“Twilight, it’s my pleasure.” Pinkie said kissing Twilight on the forehead, Twilight didn’t protest this time even though she knew Pinkie would probably get sick.
“Pinkie, I’ll take care of you the next time you get sick?” Twilight said as Pinkie headed for the door.
“I’d love that.”
Pinkie then made her way into the living room. Spike was sitting next to the fireplace, which at the moment wasn’t lit. Pinkie sat down on the couch. She noticed a photo album on the table, she started looking through it’s pages.
“Www!” Pinkie said cheerily as she flipped through the pages.
“What is it?” Spike asked as he walked over towards her.
“I’m just looking at some old photos.”
Pinkie flipped to a page containing several images of her with Twilight. A tear formed in her eye when she saw one from their first date together. “I took this photo when we went on our first date. It was the day after we went to the spa together.” Pinkie said pointing at the photo. Pinkie and Twilight were eating spaghetti at a dinner, and Pinkie had just used her party cannon inside the restaurant.
“Yeah I remember, before that Twilight wanted to make you a special cake for your birthday, but it turned into a disaster.” Spike said laughing at the memory. Pinkie turned the page again and there were a bunch of pictures with her and Spike. Spike pointed at one of him when he was still a baby, he was riding on Twilight’s back. “Twilight had been really busty taking care of me back then. So she didn’t really have time for school work.”
Pinkie flipped the page again and she saw a picture of when she and Twilight went sledding. “Twilight didn’t want to go, she wanted to finish reading her book inside.” Pinkie said giggling. “But I eventually convinced her to come out, and we had a lot of fun.”
“Yeah Twilight used to be worse back in Canterlot, she almost never spent time with anypony else. You and the other girls really helped her come out of her shell.” Spike said hugging the pink pony.
“Oh Spike!” Pinkie said lovingly as she ruffled his hair and returned the hug. Pinkie’s stomach grumbled. “Spike would you like to help me make some cupcakes?”
“I would love to! Do you think you could put gems in some of them?”
“Of course!” Pinkie said giggling at her friend.
Pinkie and Spike made their way to the kitchen. They got all the ingredients they needed to bake some cupcakes. “It’s a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake!” Pinkie sang as she mixed the batter and poured it into some cupcake molds. By the end Pinkie and Spike were both covered with frosting and cupcake batter. Spike stretcehd out his toung and licked himself clean.
“Impressive.” Pinkie Pie said as she put her hooves together and took on a concentrated stance. “I am one with the cake and the cake is one with me.” The cupcake batter and frosting then flew into her mouth.
“Whoah! Pinkie Pie how’d you do that?” Spike asked amazed.
“Lot’s of practice!”
A little while later the oven timer dinged and they took out the cupcakes. Pinkie sprinkled some gems on the ones for Spike. They both lovingly ate the delicious treats. Mmm so good! Pinkie thought as she devoured several cupcakes.
“Thanks a lot Pinkie! These cupcakes are delicious i!” Spike said with a mouthful of gems and cupcakes.
“No problem Spike, I enjoyed making them with you!”
Afterwards Spike and Pinkie made their way back to the living room. They were both stuffed and didn’t feel like moving a muscle. Pinkie got bored after awhile though. She checked on Twilight and found that her girlfriend was still sleeping. Spike was still reading his Power Ponies comic. Pinkie noticed a Ogers And Ogletes box on a bookshelf. “Spike do you want to play Ogres and Oglets?” Pinkie asked excitedly.
“I don’t know Pinkie, we could be playing for awhile.” Spike said.
“Come on we can bend the rules a bit and have some fun!” Pinkie said using her pouty face on Spike. Spike sighed and agreed. They set the game up on the map table. They both imagined what the dice rolls and narration would actually look like.
“Hold it there, ye scurvy scallywag!” Pirate Pinkie yelled as she approached Sir Spike The Brave And Glorious. “Ye be walkin away with me treasure!”
“Begone you scum! This treasure belongs to the great Queen Shmarity of the North!” Sir Spike said brandishing his sword. “To steal from the Queen is to face death!”
“I reckon it be yers then!” Pirate Pinkie yelled as she pulled her sword from her hip. Sir Spike raised up his blade blocking a strike from Pinkie. He twirled around her and tried to strike her in the back. But she was too quick, she bucked his hand and sent his sword flying.
Sir Spike ran, the treasure clutched to his chest, Pirate Pinkie laughed at his futile attempts to escape. “Fire off the port bow!” Pirate Pinkie yelled to her crew. A cannonball came flying out destroying the ground in front of Sir Spike’s feet. Pirate Pinkie was hot on his tail.
Sir Spike turned around and threw the treasure at Pinkie’s face, not expecting the move it clonked her on the head. Using this opportunity Spike was able to grab the treasure again and move past her. But Pirate Pinkie was quick to get back on her feet, she chased after the knight.
Sir Spike was heading up a ramp away from the boat docks. Another cannonball smashed in front of him, destroying the ramp and his only means of escape. He turned around to face the charging pink pirate. He threw the treasure on the ground, and erupted a massive ball of flame.
Pirate Pinkie’s hair caught on fire and created a wall of flame separating the two. Sir Spike ran through the wall of fire and past Pinkie, his only chance of escape now was to scale the cliffside and make it into the town.
Pirate Pinkie put out the fire using a cream pie she was carrying. She then chased after Spike as fast as she could. Sir Spike was now out of range of her ships cannonballs. Spike had already made it halfway up the cliff as Pirate Pinkie approached. But Pinkie was a fast climber and covered the distance in half the time.
Pirate Pinkie tried grabbing Sir Spike’s leg but in doing so she lost her hoof holding, and slipped off the rocky surface. She fell to her demise.
“NO!” Pinkie yelled as Spike read the dice roll that determined her character's fate. “Rest in peace Pirate Pinkie, you will be missed.”
“I win!” Spike said excitedly. “And that means I get the prized kiss from Queen Shmarity!”
Pinkie giggled at the excited dragon. “It was fun playing with you Spike.”
“Yeah.” Spike said holding out his fist for a hoof bump, which Pinkie gladly returned.
They then put all the pieces back in the box, and then put the box back on the shelf. Not long after that Starlight returned home. “Oh hey Pinkie!” She said as she entered the living room and saw her. “Are you here to take care of Twilight?”
Pinkie nodded. “Yeah Fluttershy told me Twilight was sick, and I had to come check on my girlfriend.”
“That’s actually rather sweet.” Starlight said.
“So what have you been doing all day?” Spike asked her.
“Well actually I was commissioning Rarity to make me a dress, for when I propose to Trixie.” Starlight said blushing.
Pinkie Pie squealed with delight. “Oh Starlight that is wonderful! You have to let me plan your wedding!”
“I’d love for you to do that.” Starlight said giggling.
“Um Starlight, not to be rude, but why do you need a dress to propose to Trixie?” Spike asked.
‘Uh well, Trixie may or may not have dropped some hints that she wanted her proposal to be somewhat extravagant.” Starlight said chuckling. “But she’s my girlfriend, and I love her. I’d battle ten thousands dragons just to see her.”
A tear welled up in Pinkie’s eye, she felt the exact same way about Twilight. Pinkie then went and grabbed the photo album off of the table. “Ooh Starlight look at this.” Pinkie said as she flipped to a page containing an image of Starlight and Trixie. It was taken during Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash’s wedding. They were bridesmaids, and they were laughing because Fluttershy had accidentally shoved some cake in Rainbow’s face.
“We all had a lot of fun at their wedding.” Starlight said laughing. “I haven’t asked the other girls yet, but Pinkie would you like to be one of my bridesmaids, and Spike you could be my best man?”
“I’d love to!” They both said in unison.
“Wait Starlight, you haven’t even proposed to Trixie yet, why are you asking us this now?” Spike asked confused.
“Spike when you’re with someone for long enough, and you really truly love them, you know they’ll say yes.” Starlight said hugging the little dragon.
“I’m going to go check on Twilight.” Pinkie said as she left the room. Twilight was awake and coughing again, Pinkie brought her some tea.
“Thank you Pinkie.” Twilight said taking a sip.
“Twi I know we haven’t been dating that long, and I know saying certain things can be hard, but I want to say them.” Pinkie said taking in a deep breath. “I love you Twi.”
Twilight was taken aback. Even though they’d said those words to each other before they were dating, they had a different meaning back then. Twilight looked Pinkie in the eyes. “I love you Pinkie.”
Pinkie kissed Twilight on the forehead. “Do you need anything?”
“No, I’m good for right now. Thank you.” Twilight said as she yawned and pulled the covers up over her head.
“I’m going to go make some food for dinner.” Pinkie said to the others as she went into the kitchen. She made some more of the same soup that she had made for Twilight earlier. She also made some more cupcakes for dessert. After everypony ate it was already late and they were all tired.
“You can stay here tonight if you want Pinkie.” Spike said showing her to an empty bedroom.
“Thank you Spike.” She said as she closed the door.
The pink pony was tired and it was time for bed. She fell asleep and dreamed about having a birthday party with Gummy. The next morning Twilight was feeling better so she got up early and made pancakes for everypony.
“Jewel filled pancakes!” Spike yelled excitedly as he walked into the kitchen still clutching his Rarity plushie.
“Yes Spike, I was feeling better, so I decided to something nice for everypony.” Twilight said giggling at her excited friend. Eventually Starlight and Pinkie made their way into the kitchen as well.
“Thanks for taking care of me yesterday Pinkie.” Twilight said.
“It was my pleasure.” Pinkie said hugging her girlfriend and giving her a kiss on the cheek. “Hey come with me, I want to show you something.”
Twilight followed Pinkie into the living room. Pinkie Pie picked up the photo album again and flipped through the pages. “Here.” She said pointing at a picture. It was taken at Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash’s bachelorette party. They were both wearing lampshades on their heads and might have had a bit too much cider.
“That was a lot of fun.” Twilight said fondly.
“Twi, I love you. And I love being with you. I would do anything for you.” Pinkie said kissing her girlfriend on the lips.
“Come on let’s go have breakfast.” Twilight said kissing Pinkie on the cheek. Pinkie Pie then had a coughing fit. “Pinkie! Did you catch my cold?”
“Yeah.” She replied sniffling. “You said you’d take care of me the next time I got sick.”
Twilight giggled. “Of course I will Pinkie.”
They both made their way to the kitchen to have breakfast. I get to spend the day with my girlfriend. Pinkie thought as she sat down next to Twilight. Even though she was sick now, a smile crept onto her face.
