Twilight and Cadence Do The Sisterhooves Social
It's a beautiful Friday morning on the Friday before the Sisterhooves Social and Twilight is preparing for Cadence's arrival. A few hours later, Cadence arrives in Ponyville and is greeted in a hug by Twilight as soon as she hops off the train. The two then go out for lunch at the Hayburger before returning to Twilight's castle.
At the Hayburger, the two talk about their weeks. Then Twilight raises an important question.
"So," says Twilight, "do you want to do the Sisterhooves Social with me tomorrow?"
"Sure!' replies Cadence. "I'd love to!"
The two then finish their burgers, pay, and leave. Back at Twilight's castle, the two get to work on their Sisterhooves Social t-shirts. After several hours, the shirts are finished. The shirts are white with a six point star and a crystal heart side by side on them.
The next day, the two put on their shirts and head off to the Sisterhooves Social. At the Sisterhooves Social, the two give their names and get their bandanas and go line up along with the other contestants which include Rainbow and Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle and Rarity, and Applejack and Apple Bloom.
"Twi?" says Applejack, "surprised to see you here."
"Well," replies Twilight, "Cadence is doing it with me this year, besides sisters in law count. I checked."
"Well don't expect to win," Rainbow snarks.
The horn soon sounds and the event begins. Cadence and Twilight soon barrel to the front and end up being the first two through the mud pit. The two then make it to the hay bales and jump over them in a full bound without using their wings or magic. They then make it to the pie table where they quickly down the pies within three minutes time. They then go on to the juicing station and fill a jar with grape juice within ten seconds. The two then head for the hen houses, get the egg, and get it successfully into the basket. Now at this point as they race for the finish line, the Apple sisters and Rainbow and Scootaloo are not far behind them. Cadence and Twilight then charge ahead and cross the finish line, winning the ribbon. The two are so happy. A few minutes after them, Rainbow and Scootaloo cross and then Applejack and Apple Bloom. About fifteen minutes later, the rest of the contestants cross the finish line. All the contestants then go and wash up before the Social Lunch.
A half hour later at the lunch, Twilight and Cadence laugh and joke with their friends.
"I'm honestly surprised you beat me and Scootaloo," giggles Rainbow Dash.
"Beginner's luck," puffs Twilight.
"No, I don't think so," replies Rainbow Dash, "you two are actually really good at this, more than you give yourselves credit for."
"So, how'd you enjoy your first Sisterhooves Social you two?" asks Rarity sweetly.
"I enjoyed it very much!" exclaims Cadence.
"It was so much fun! I now understand why you girls love it so much!" exclaims Twilight.
Twilight and Cadence take bites out of their sandwiches as do their friends. They all then put down their sandwiches and take a sip of their lemonade and bites of their cookies. They then get back to talking.
"You girls ready for the fritter baking contest?" asks Applejack. "Apple Bloom and I win it every year with our family recipe!"
"We sure do," adds Apple Bloom.
The girls soon finish up their lunches and then go to their stations for the fritter baking competition. A few minutes later, the baking competition begins. The teams gather their ingredients and make their batter then fill their dough. Cadence and Twilight use their three berry mix to stuff their fritters then stick them in the frying order. A few minutes later, Applejack and Apple Bloom get theirs in the frying oil and then Rarity and Sweetie Belle do the same, then Rainbow and Scootaloo, then everypony else. After a minute, they all pull their fritters out and get them on their plates and dust them with powdered sugar and then they make their special sauces to accompany the fritters. Applejack and Apple Bloom make their spiced maple syrup sauce, Twilight and Cadence make a strawberry spread, Rainbow and Scootaloo make a chocolate sauce, and Rarity and Sweetie make a honey glaze. They then put the sauces on their plates and throw their hooves up as do the rest of the contestants. The judges then come around and judge the fritters and crown the Apple sisters the winners once again.
"See, family recipe wins every time," boasts Applejack and Apple Bloom. Their friends just roll their eyes. They honestly don't mind that Applejack and Apple Bloom won but they don't have to brag about it.
Now that the baking competition is over, there's one part of the social left to go: the painting competition. This is one Cadence and Twilight know they have in the bag as do Rarity and Sweetie Belle, both are amazing with a brush. A few minutes later, the painting competition begins. Cadence and Twilight paint a beautiful scene of Celestia and Luna looking up at the sun and moon in the sky with lightning bugs all aglow. Rarity and Sweetie Belle paint a beautiful scene of a spring day. Applejack and Apple Bloom paint a pony bucking apples. Rainbow and Scootaloo paint a race pony charging downhill in a race cart. After two hours of watching the competitors paint, the judges come around and judge the paintings, crowning Twilight and Cadence the winners. The two sisters in law are so proud of themselves and agree to dedicate their winning painting to Celestia and Luna, to which the judges happily agree to send the royal sisters.
An hour later, the Sisterhooves Social finally does their closing ceremony, which includes the singing competition of the team chants, which Sweetie Belle and Rarity win with the Apple sisters coming in second and Twilight and Cadence in third. The three teams of sisters are so happy to have won the three medals from the singing competition. They, once they leave the stage, are joined by Rainbow and Scootaloo and the friends go out for ice cream to finish off an amazing day of competition. They can all agree that they hope Cadence and Twilight do it again next year because they made it a whole lot more fun. This makes Twilight and Cadence smile. They then agree that they'll do it again next year, that they'd love that. Their friends are glad. Now, it's time for them to all go and enjoy a Rara concert, the perfect end to a perfect day.
