//-------------------------------------------------------// My Shattered Soul -by Vatore Greymoon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Eternal Fields //-------------------------------------------------------// The Eternal Fields For sixty plus years I have lived alone and miserable. The reason being is that I was banished from my true home and separated from my wife. There I was immortal, here I'm not and now my end has come. The only question I wanted answered is why? Why was I banished? I had never harmed anyone that was innocent, nor had I ever went against my wife's or sister's wishes. I guess I will never know now since my end has come. "Faust, I can only hope you grant me my dying wish. Allow me passage to the Eternal Fields. For Equestria is my true home." As I closed my eyes for the last time, I could only hope that she heard my plea and would grant it. When I opened my eyes, I couldn't believe what I could see. Immense fields as a far as I could see, with patches of trees dotted here and there. When I looked down I noticed I was a pony again. Same cornflower yellow fur and I knew my mane and tail would be a dark brown. Looking at my wings I saw the tinge of dark blue at the end of the feathers and knew I was in my alicorn form. Looking at my cutie mark just confirmed it. When I was first transformed I was a pegasus, but when I became a alicorn it changed to a complicated mark. Half was a stylized sun, the other was a creasant moon with both surrounded by a crown made of a cloud. It was said to signify My status as Prince of the Skies. But why? Why would I be a alicorn again. I was figuring to be in my pegasus form since I'm dead. Why would I come here as a alicorn? "Because you are not dead J. Even though you was on Earth, the magic of Equestria still flows through you." Turning my head I looked for the one that spoke and my heart almost stopped when I saw her. Taller than me by a head in my current form, as white as pure snow with a red mane and tail. Faust stood before me and I was truly stunned. "What do you mean by that Faust? I was on Earth, my ties to Equestria cut." She smiled at me serenely and walked up to me before nuzzling my cheek. "What did I tell you all those years ago J?" "Of course mother. I remember." Yes, I call her mother. Kinda have to since I married her youngest daughter. "How are Tia and Luna doing?" "They miss you. I would tell you what happened, but that is their story to tell not mine. All will be revealed when you return." "They want me back?" "Yes, very much so. Both have suffered from the mistake they made, but as I said. It's their story, not mine." "How long have I been gone?" "A little over a thousand years, but I'm warning you now. You will appear in the throne room in the middle of a battle with a enemy you thought dead." "Discord!" "No, not Discord. What you did to him has made certain he can never return from Tartarus. The Changeling Queen is the one attacking your family." Chrysalis, but how? I destroyed her hive thirteen hundred years ago. Damn bug. I will finish the job this time. "I'm ready" I said standing up. "I will have all of my magic when I get there right?" "Yes, all of your magic and abilities will be at your command once again. Celestia is struggling against Chrysalis right now. I will teleport you right to them." "Thank you mother." "I'm just glad you are finally home son. It wasn't the same without you. And one more thing. I want some grandbabies soon" she whispered into my ear. "Wha" I didn't even finish before the spell took affect. When I materialized in the throne room, I could see what Faust was talking about. Tia was in a magic struggle with the queen and was on the losing end. Before she was overwhelmed I cast a barrier spell on her then summoned my armor and halberd. Taking notice of the barrier, they both looked around until they spotted me. From one I got a shocked look, the other was pure fear. The first time me and Chrysalis fought, I was still human. This time, I'm in my alicorn form and I have armor and a weapon made from lunarite and solarite steel. Both unbreakable and impervious to anything know to pony mind. "Time to finish the job bug. This time, I will have your head." "How is this possible. You was banished forever" Chrysalis shrieked at me. "Do you really think being banished and dying would stop me? Ha! I will get the story of why I was banished in the first place" I said looking at Tia. "But first, I've got a bug problem to take care of." "I am far more powerful than the last time I faced you Prince." "Yeah? Well, so am I. Discord couldn't stand against me. What makes you think you could fair any better?" I charged her, tired of the banter and swung at her head. I wanted this fight over with quick. The bug kept falling back until she called for reinforcements. "Thanks for the warm up" I snarked when I finished off her drones. Before she could do anything I threw my halberd at her. It didn't quite miss, but the slice along her side did what I wanted...a distraction. I closed the gap between us before she could focus on me and straight up punt kicked her ass through the castle wall. Damn that felt good I thought. Before gaining too much distance I grabbed the bug queen in a telekinetic grip and held her out over some gardens. I looked around to see if any ponies was present and spotted a few guards. "Retreat back into the castle, NOW!" When they didn't move I got mad. "MOVE IT SOLDIERS. NOW!" That got their asses in gear. As soon as they was clear, I teleported my armor back to its storage and prepared myself for what was to come. "Chrysalis for the crimes you have committed against Equestria today and those you have done in the past, I sentence you to Tartarus for eternity." I couldn't see it, but I knew my eyes had started to flare a incandescent white. There was no doubt that unicorns all over Equestria could feel the magic I was channeling. Even though it was about midday, the skies started to darken and thunder was rolling with lightning flashing everywhere. Once the clouds built up to a point a opening started right above Chrysalis. Soon a veritable hurricane was right above her with the sun shining down through the hole. "Goodbye... Chrysalis." The sun pulsed suddenly and a bright lance of energy flashed down. Chrysalis's sudden scream was cut off and when the brightness dimmed back down, Chrysalis was no more. I was panting in exhaustion on my knees when I heard quiet steps behind me. "I forget how much that takes out of me." "J? H...how are you here? How did you come back?" I turned slightly and was looking into Tia's concerned eyes. "I died Celestia. I died of old age and mom brought me to the Eternal Fields." "T..that's impossible. You are immortal like Lulu and I. You can't die a old age." "Well I did, but my question is why? Why was I really banished? Why Tia" I asked her, trying to not let my tears fall. "Because, Nightmare Moon did not want to fight you husband. She knew that I would rather die than ever harm you." I froze when I heard her voice. It seemed a lifetime since I had last listened to it and was a life time. I slowly stood and turned in the direction of her voice and standing there was my beautiful angel. My Luna. She was taller than the last time I had seen her. "What do you mean by Nightmare Moon, Luna?" "I had fallen, my love. I had allowed the Limelight in and it corrupted me. The jealousy I felt towards Tia and the feelings of abandonment towards you led to my downfall. I know now that both of you always loved me and I know you spent as much time as you could with Me,but those feelings still hurt." "Luna, I am so sorry. If I had realized what was going on" "No my love. You was still trying to quell the pockets of undead that Sombra had raised. It was my fault. Anyway, when the Nightmare had taken full control, she convinced Sister that you was plotting our downfall so you could rule." I looked at Tia in shock. She was hanging her head in shame. "Tia? What was the one thing I didn't care for?" "You had no use for a crown or a throne. You was content being our shield" she managed to get out between sobs. Luna had joined her by then, wrapping her wings around her older sister. I stood there for a minute before I walked towards them. They watched me with sadness in their eyes waiting for what I would do. I flared my wings as I got to them and did what I had wanted since me banishment. I wrapped my wings around both of them and cried with them. "It doesn't matter anymore. It's over and done. I'm back home with my girls. That's all that matters to me." Their crying had started to calm down finally after a few minutes. I kissed Tia on her forehead like I always did and kissed my wife like I had on our wedding day. I decided to be a little mischievous and looked at Luna expectantly. "Mom said she better get some grandbabies soon." Luna started blushing hard and Tia would have cell over laughing if I wasn't still holding her. "W...w...what?" "I guess she figures since I'm back home and it's been long enough, she wants us to start having foals. At least that's what I figure the old bat wants." I heard a shouted "impudent foal" and felt something hit the back of my head. "Sorry mom. It won't happen again" I called out rubbing my head. Tia pulled away from our hug pile and started giving orders to begin the clean up while I still was holding my wife. "Nothing could express the joy I'm in being back and holding you like this my angel." "I was a fool to allow myself to lose you like I did. It shall not happen again" Luna said burying her head into my chest. "I could not live with myself if I lost you for any reason." "I'm not going anywhere Luna. Not ever, not again." "
