Fall of Equestria vs. The Conversion Bureau: War of the Worlds
Sometimes, bad things come from those who had what they though were the best intentions. I learn that lesson the hard way.
I was on the run at the time that Celestia, who back then was known as one of the kind and gentle rulers in history, suddenly decided to move the whole land of Equestria to another universe, her reasons still unknown to this day. It was said that she had seen the peoples of the universe she sent Equestria to, a Universe that was ruled by a race of bipedal primates known as 'humans'. She was said to have been jealous of their advance civilization, hated their way of life and their culture.
So it was that the Equestrian Land came to Earth on the Human date known as December 21st, 2012. It had appeared off the west coast of the human empire known as "The United States". At first, Celestia kept up the 'we=came-in-peace' act when she arrived on Earth. Many humans were surprised at the idea of talking equines, same thing for the common Equestrian seeing a bunch of humans.
I myself was shocked at first, but when I left Equestria for the other side of the Barrier, which Celestia would use as a weapon of genocide, I saw that Humans were in fact something that I wanted for all Ponies. They did not have any Cutie Marks to show their special talent, they didn't need those accursed marks.
Which was why Celestia wanted them gone.
Celestia herself had one way of doing it: The Conversion Bureaus were her idea. It was to be the test bed for the Ponyfiaction Potion that Twilight would brew. It itself was touted as a way for a few people who hated their lot in life to move to Equestria (as Humans could not cross through the Barrier, the reason was Celestia made it that way as to stop any Human attack on her.) Many of those who were poor, homeless, disabled or unfortunate flocked to the Bureaus. To them, a second chance was all too tempting.
At first, things seemed good, nothing odd as the first of what were soon to be known as 'New Foals'. They acted like they were when they were Human. the reason was that Twilight's potion was not like the one that was later used, the tampered version that Celestia had created. The first Potion was nothing more then a test for Celestia. The next bunch was the one we know of today, the one used by the Conversion Bureaus.
Some today claim that those New Foals that came about were more like those ponies I had under my control, before six mares ruined what I now view as a twisted version of utopia. They were nothing more then drones, mindless, always proclaiming the 'truth and might' of Celestia. It would be later found out that Celestia made them like that, to not only to be new subjects, but to be cheep labor; Slaves.
But even before this new version of the Potion was made, there was already resistance. Humans by general can be very xenophobic, even to others of their kind. The very idea of humans turning into ponies was something that any saw as sick and twisted. So it was that groups rose to try and stop the Conversion Bureaus.
The First was the so called 'Anti-Conversion Bureau' which was a bunch of hackers who spread anti-bureau messages, showing corruption within the bureaus themselves. This group was taken down by the human governments after the rise of the one group which would be more well known: The Human Liberation Front.
While many groups rose and fell around the time before full scale war started, it was The HLF that would take the spot light. They were a mix of peoples, many of them with military backgrounds from fighting in the human 'War on Terror'. Some were even terrorists themselves. They had their own answer to handling the Equestrians and The Bureaus: Violence.
Soon, the HLF struck in a campaign of terror. Bombings, shootings and vehicle ramming attacks were common, all the hall marks of the group. They vowed to end the Bureaus and drive the ponies back to their homeland. This was enough for Celestia to act, namely after the HLF tried to kill Twilight Sparkle.
Her response was to create her own Terrorist army: PER (Ponyfication for Earth's Rebirth)
She was the one behind the group, creating another potion that turned Ponies into Humans, she sent agents to start the group, brainwashing people into thinking that it was the only way to save the world, by turning their fellow humans into Ponies. The PER used Potion bombs against civilian and government targets, turning many into ponies against their will. This would backfire on Celestia as now, many ponies started turning against her, forming the Friends of Humanity, lead by one Lyra Heartstrings.
This also coupled with the plagues that struck Equestria.
Epidemics of diseases never seen in Equestria, Equine Diseases that only evolved on Earth and for which we ponies had not immunity to. Waves of West Nile Virus, Equine Flu and Potomac Horse Fever swept through the land, hundreds of thousands of ponies dying.
Yet Celestia ignored all of this, ignored all the needs and protests of her kind. She wanted to conquer Earth and using the Barrier, expanding it with her magic, she showed her true colors.
The Conversion War had started.
She went after the Friends of Humanity first, planning on getting rid of them. Yet she was betrayed by one she though was one of her followers; Fluttershy. Seemed that yellow Pegasus has a knack of betraying ponies. She herself was a secret member of the Friends of Humanity. She warned them all and with Discord's help, all of them escaped from Equestria and warned the humans.
This lead to war around the world.
Celestia under estimated the Humans and the pro-human ponies. the World United against her and declared that she would fall. Celestia herself declared a war against humanity and vowed that all humans would convert or die. Even Celestia's followers now knew the horrible truth: Celestia was mad
The Barrier itself expanded, wiping out most of North America, South America, New Zealand, Australia and most of East Asia. But then, it slowed down. At the last years of it being up, it was moving only a nano-inch every year. Many thought that Celestia herself was weekending, perhaps sick or losing her powers or that even her mental state was now effecting her magic.
But it gave us time to launch Counter-measures, making Anti-magic weapons and defenses. I helped out with it, even teaching many unicorns in the pro-human Equestrian Liberation Army how to remove Cutie Marks, which has helped in campaigns on the other side of the Barrier, recapturing lands from Celestia's Forces.
Yet, what we did not know was someone else had found Earth.
The Barrier's magical signal had crossed the vast gulf between universes and someone felt it.
On another Equestria, one that had fallen to a race of beings that enslaved mares and used them as rape toys, a Tyrant felt the magical energy and decided to find it and take it. His rune masters found the universe where Earth is located and decided that he would conquer that world as well.
He was Dainn, King of the Caribou.
So it was the war would expand and soon, we would discover what was to happen.
