I sighed, 2 weeks had passed since Applejack woke. She has been struggling to the adaption, she is still scared of laying eggs. Our dinner dates have been going well despite that, our relationship is stronger than ever and our hive is starting to take shape. Braeburn has been sending me regular letters on how his farm has been improved thanks to my hive’s assistance. Applebloom woke up 11 days ago, she still has good relations with her friends, which has helped put my mind slightly more at ease. She hasn’t gone back to school yet due to a few reforms I need to discuss with the princesses.

I was already on the way to Canterlot with Iron Compass, Applejack was a little busy with the farmwork. I frowned, I swear sometimes she forgets that she is a queen of a hive. We arrived at Canterlot, I still get odd looks from time to time but with the help of Twilight things have settled down. The last 6 months have been huge, I went from being abandoned to running my own hive of very pony-like changelings. In fact some ponies don’t even distinguish the difference between us, I am proud of that, we fit in really well.

Prince Compass asked “Do you have an idea of the what we were called here for?”

I replied “No brother, Ah don’t.” I didn’t feel like he was one of my children but like a brother, he has helped clear many doubters of our hive. I wonder how Applejack will react when she finds out who he used to be.

Silent Sentinel awaited us, he said “The princesses are awaiting you.” We followed him into the throne room. I felt a flare of hate emanating from one of the princesses. I stared to see Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armour in front of me. I sighed, they had a problem with my mother and outside of Thorax they had no experience with good changelings. I guess because I’m a queen they worry I will conquer Equestria.

I was quickly proven right. Shining asked angrily “Are we really letting a hive in Equestria, they almost conquered us, twice?!”

I thought (I should have known this would pose a problem.)

Prince Compass said “I would say this changeling endeavour has given many ponies a new lease on life.”

Shining snapped back at him “Converting ponies into changelings, that should be outlawed!”

A voice came from outside the door “Sorry, Ah’m late.” I smiled as Applejack trotted in. She nuzzled me as she asked “How’s my favourite Love Bug?” Prince Iron Compass smiled slightly.

I replied “Ah could be doing better, mah Sweet Apple, all this running of a Hive has hit me hard, Ah have no idea what Ah’m doing half the time.” Applejack stared at Cadence as their glare intensified.

Cadence snarled “More of them, Changeling Queens can’t be trusted.”

Celestia frowned as she asked “If Queen Applejack can’t be trusted who can?” Shining Armour and Cadence gasped at Applejack as they noticed her Cutie Mark.

Applejack asked “What have Ah missed?”

Luna said “We were discussing the voluntary changeling conversion program, it has been going quite smoothly I hear.”

That snapped Shining Armour out of his stupor. He shouted “Nopony would want to become a changeling willingly.”

Prince Compass roared breaking his usually calm demeanour “BEFORE MY CONVERSION I WAS A UTTERLY USELESS STALLION! THIS CONVERSION HAS GIVEN ME A NEW LIFE!” He then turned to Celestia and bowed “My apologies, Aunty.”

Cadence asked confused “He is your nephew?”

Celestia said calmly “Prince Iron Compass is Prince Blueblood.” I watched as Applejack, Shining Armour and Cadence's jaws dropped.

Applejack stared at me for several minutes. Shining Armour asked in complete shock “When, how, why?”

Prince Compass said “I told you this has given me a new life, the arrogant prince is gone, I am the General of the Changeling hive’s military force.”

Applejack said “No offence but Ah’m surprised you of all ponies decided to do this.”

Prince Compass said “None taken. I wouldn’t have done this except for the fact I was achieving even less than I usually did, my life was falling apart. I had lost all purpose, I had realised after the Changelings captured me I learned the truth I was an arrogant spoiled brat. I couldn’t even cast a single spell that took out even one Changeling. I only hindered the effort, several guards were caught trying to protect my sorry flank.”

Cadence said “I still don’t like Changelings, they caused us great harm. Thorax had our influence in order to change his perception.”

I snarled “Are ya saying Ah didn’t. Ah’m sick of this toxicity between us, ya emotions are literally poisonous. Ah have been doing good work here for the past six months. Canterlot still hates us because of both invasions. Ponyville and Appleloosa are the places where we are the most accepted, Ah was hoping Ah could add the Crystal Empire to that list but Ah guess not.”

I asked Celestia “Ah was hoping to bring up another matter actually, Ah would like some of our hatchlings to go to Equestrian schools in order to improve relations between our races.

Cadence snarled “No way, I won’t allow it.”

Celestia and Luna said “That is a great idea, I give you permission to start in Ponyville, in the meantime we’ll discuss it with the nobles of Canterlot, hopefully we can get them to agree on this.”

Cadence said “You can’t, they are not...”

I decided to end this meeting before it got too nasty in here. I asked “Well, Ah think we know Cadence’s stance on this matter. Do we have anything left to discuss?”

Celestia said “No, we don’t. I will adjourn this meeting.”

Cadence shouted “We aren’t finished, you can’t…!”

Applejack interrupted Cadence with a snarl “Well, Ah don’t really need to hear this and neither does Cara. Prince Iron Compass will inform us of what you have to say.” Prince Iron Compass nodded to us, then we stormed out of the room slamming the door on the way out.

I sighed “Damn it, this was supposed to go well.”

Applejack said “Ah know this is hard but we’ll get through this. You know, on my way here Ah saw a restaurant for Griffin's selling a lot of meat dishes. Ah say we go there and have a nice meal.”

I smiled “Ah hear ya, let’s go. Ah need to get mah mind off that meeting.” Applejack then groaned realising what kinda restaurant she had suggested.
