I woke up to see a white unicorn mare staring at me, she said “Lucky I brought my fainting couch.”

I asked “Umm may I get some introductions, I don’t know most of you.”

Pinkie bounced up and down “Hi I’m Pinkie Pie, I’m the best party pony in Equestria according to Celestia.”

Rainbow Dash boasted “I’m Rainbow Dash, a Wonderbolt and the best flier in Equestria.”

Rarity said “I’m a fashion designer, I own the Carousel Boutique in Ponyville and the Canterlot Boutique as well.”

I turned around and asked “Your Princess Twilight, the Princess of Friendship, I assume.” Twilight nods and smiles at me.

I hear a slight squeak “I’m Fluttershy, I like to care for animals.”

I smiled as I said “Hi Fluttershy, that’s a noble pursuit.”

Applejack asked “Are you okay?”

I smiled “I’m fine let’s get this party underway shall we.” Pinkie Pie bolted down the stairs. I followed only to see a huge cake in the room. I blinked for a moment as I looked at the huge cake, I clearly didn’t see a cake in the room before.

Applejack said “Sugarcube, relax it’s just Pinkie.” I smiled as she blushed quickly realising what she said. This is probably because of that flank staring incident. I watched as she filled herself a huge mug of cider and chugged it. She said “That hit the spot.” She smiled at me as she handed me a mug. I drank some of it, careful not to get drunk. I’d hate to drop my disguise and cause a panic.

I grabbed a cupcake and saw some hot sauce. I smiled as I coated it in hot sauce and swallowed it whole. Pinkie bounced up and down as she shouted “Finally somepony gets it!”

I said “It was something I did at a party once and I enjoyed it immensely.” I watched as they all looked at me with a smile.

I sat down and watched the group. I watched Fluttershy sitting with Big Mac. I could feel the love emanating from them. I sighed as I watched Applebloom running around playing with her friends. Applejack sat next to me “What’s wrong, Sugarcube.” She blushed again.

I said knowing what she was thinking “I’m fine with it, it doesn’t matter. I can’t be in a relationship with anypony anyway.”

Applejack frowned “Why not?”

I replied “My family aren’t very receptive to others, if I got in a relationship they would hunt the pony down and gut them. “

Applejack said shocked “That’s horrible.”

I cried “My family is horrible, I had met a young filly when I was little, her name was Spirit. I had a fillyhood crush on her.”

Applejack asked fearfully “What happened?”

I sobbed “My parents caught Spirit and ripped her heart out. They then forced her heart down my throat. I cried for hours afterwards. My mother told me love is a weakness and I should be ashamed.”

Applejack’s eyes were wide as she stared at me. She asked trembling “What kinda monster does that to their child?”

I stared away from her before responding “The monstrous kind.” I bolted out the door in tears. I watched as Applejack followed me to find me crying in the orchard.

I looked up to see the mare smiling at me “Ah’m surprised you would tell me, a stranger something so personal.”

I replied “Applejack, I have never had anypony treat me with any respect even my parents saw me as a tool to be used I was just too immature to see it. They abandoned me and left me to die. 5 years I’ve been barely living and you have brought life back to me, I’m no longer just existing.”

Applejack stammered “T-T-Thanks Sugarcube, Ah’m glad I could help.” I smiled but my eyes started to flicker. Applejack said “You look tired, I’ll handle the cleanup you go to bed.” I smiled and headed to the barn. I laid down and looked at the stars in the sky. This was the best day ever, I have friends, a place to stay. I have even been welcomed with open hooves.

I felt a presence next to me, I looked over to see Applejack, she was clearly asleep, she must have come over to check on me, she must’ve have been exhausted and couldn’t make it back to the homestead. I smiled the warmth emanating from her made me feel comfortable and safe as I drifted into the land of dreams.
